Arab News: Women Come Out Against Extremist Internet Magazine

More hypocritical Saudi window-dressing. Arab News today carries a tut-tutting article about the new jihadist magazine for women, containing the usual protestations about jihad being a spiritual struggle, these people are un-Islamic, etc.

It is particularly and bitterly ironic that this story would appear today, in the wake of the most vivid example since 9/11 of the fact that large and highly motivated groups of Muslims do not think that jihad is simply a spiritual struggle, but warfare against unbelievers, including children. It is also ironic that it would come from Saudi Arabia, a country whose Embassy in the United States was advocating violent jihad and oppression of the dhimmis as recently as last November.

Some highlights of the Arab News piece:

RIYADH, 7 September 2004 -- A cross-section of Saudi women has come out strongly against the launch of a new Internet magazine targeting Saudi and other Arab women as well as children in the Al-Qaeda-inspired drive against "infidels in the Arabian Peninsula."

They said that by calling on women to join in the preparations for Jihad, the deviant group was straying away from the path of Islam, which stands for mercy, compassion, tolerance and justice.

"What do they want to achieve?" asked radio journalist and broadcaster Samar Fatany from Jeddah. "They really need to think about the consequences of their actions. What they are preaching is extremism and revenge which are totally un-Islamic."

She was confident that the website would have no adverse impact on Saudi women who are "God-fearing and in no way influenced by misguided teachings."

Oh, and what has caused all these un-Islamic teachings to proliferate? Why, America and Israel, of course:

According to Fatany, the situation reflects the weakness of the Arab world and the inaction on the part of the international community to stand up for justice and peace. She said the "unjust US foreign policy on the one hand and Israeli atrocities against Palestinians on the other have also been responsible for breeding such negative tendencies in the region."

Another Saudi female journalist Hala Al-Nasser said the promoters of the Internet magazine were giving a twist to the concept of Jihad. "To me, Jihad means constant struggle and perseverance with oneself for the cause of peace." She said Saudi women would not be attracted by the kind of message being put out on their website.

Oh yeah, its either a Zionist conspiracy or the US to blame NEVER F****** Saudis!! You may have to believe and obey your lords and husbands but
We DON'T...

Why, when a bunch of muslim's get together and actually DO what so many preach (kill, rape, torture, kidnap, burn), do they try and move away from their success?

THEN, they blame America for their actions?!?! I thought it was Allah who motivated them?

I am right for what has been brought against me!! Until I do what I am being taught I should do...Then it's your fault.

HUH?

I can never figure this out, maybe that is because I am actually able, and capable of questioning.

So all these misguided un-islamic fools by this rationale, are defying the will of allah, correct?
If so then why aren't the so called moderates not forming an uprising to stop these "twisters of the faith"?

They all bat for the same team. It should be apparent to everyone now that these predators are intent upon enslaving or killing the entire world.

As for the women's role in this vile ideology, it is well to remember that women pass along culture to the next generation and that jihad ideology can not be given to the young without the willing participation of their mothers, aunts, and grandmothers. In this culture as in all others, "the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world!"

A little known, widely used and very effective tool of jihad called taqyya(sp?).
Which basically means to lie and deceive kafir/infidels, to the advantage and goals of jihad.

I'll believe this when I see a magazine for Saudi women called Car and Driver for the Modern Arab Woman. Or articles in the local Saudi newspapers on "What is a modern Arab woman to do with her equal share in the inheritance?"

epg:

Your point about the formative role of women in the propagation of jihad ideology is extremely well-taken, and something we rarely consider on this board. Muslim women are too often portrayed simply as victims of muslim men, without considering their wider role and contributions. The 50% (or so) of the ummah that they comprise indicates that it could not exist in its present state without not only their tacit support but their active input.

Witness Reza. Need I say more?

CGW,
I have always regarded muslim women with equally as much suspicion as I do muslim men, and have thought for some time that they have an eqaul role in the islamic agenda (remember they too are "allah's creations").

You want to know why I think muslim women are forced to wear burkas or cover their faces? I think it's very simple - when the time comes, and it will, muslim MEN will be dressed like women (they all seem rather short, like women, too), faces covered, weapons hidden. On some command, they'll remove their costumes and begin killing again.

Funny how the Arab news has only a story about how the Muslims let some children go in Russia, and not a damn thing about how it ended...

See they are the Father of Lies...

That's what the Devil is called in the holy scriptures
