Yes, they have kindly agreed to supply 5,000 books on "Islam" to the library of Roxbury Community College.

Just imagine that. Free lectures on "Islam" and 5,000 books on "Islam." It must have been tough, don't you think, the way the city extracted such a hard bargain -- selling land at below-market prices (way below), but on the other hand -- look what it gets. Free lectures on Islam, 5,00 free books on Islam, and both of them directed right at the inhabitants of Roxbury Community College. Do you think that Mr. Alamoudi, and Sheikh Qaradawi, have anything in mind?

A massive citadel of a mosque, a fortress-like structure has no place in a residential neighborhood. It presents an unfriendly face to the world. Who could know what could go on behind these high walls, or what could be stored. If Muslims wish to be accepted as equals in the neighborhoods they inhabit, they should not thumb their noses at the requests of the neighbors, making them feel uncomfortable by building forts, blasting calls to prayer five times a day, and being less than transparent.

But of course, as first citizens of the world, Muslims don't give a hang about how their neighbors feel about anything. It's their job to move, take over, and make them dhimmis as quickly as possible. Perphaps Policastro had this phenomenon in mind when opposing the mosque.

I saw an episode of South Park the other week about the Afghanistan conflict (CIRCA '01), in which Cartman joins forces with the islamic radicals, but in the end turns out as a double agent who assassinates Bin Laden, who is then peppered with bullets.

The final message in this particular episode was (in relation to a couple of infidel-loathing muslims in South Park):

So who started the intifada? why sharon had to go there? sharon knew very well that the inftifada will rise if he does there, but doesn't give a damn, he WANTED the intifada because this was the only way he could win the elections at that time, by promising to end it.

I may have a bit of a disconnect here, but have we Muslims done something wrong here?

We *legally* applied to put a building there, following American law and due process. The council equivalent there approved and gave their overwhelming support…legally. They recognised that we are a small community there and did their bit to help us come to a deal.

Being good US citizens and recognising that the best thing we could do for integration is to help the local community learn about Islam, hence the lectures & books.

I fear that the biggest stumbling blocks for integration of Muslims into American society is lack of knowledge of Islam, fear of the unknown and damn inflammatory unwarranted remarks by people who think they know better.

We followed due legal process …but we need to be cut down anyway….don’t make me laugh, soon you will LEGALLY hear the call to prayer (yes 5 times a day) from that building.

I think the main problem for municipal issues is a lack of voter turnout for Mayoral and Aldermanic candidates. If there is a muslim running in municipal elections, there is no doubt he will get support from islamic communities. If there is a muslim running for office, don't just sit there like a dummy, go out and vote against any muslim candidates. Excercise your right and vote. Same goes with school board elections.

Based on this news, Zarqawi is definately not going to let the britisher grandfather free. He will wait for the two Iraqi women scientists to be freed and then behead him.
