The jihad intensifies in Iraq. From AP:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A car bomb exploded near a police station in Baghdad early Tuesday as dozens of Iraqis were applying to join the force, killing at least 47 people and wounding 114, officials said. In Baqouba, gunmen opened fire on a van carrying policemen home from work, killing 11 officers and a civilian.The attacks were the latest attempts by insurgents to disrupt U.S.-backed efforts to build a strong Iraqi police force capable of taking over security in many towns and cities ahead of nationwide elections slated for January.
In Baghdad, the blast left a gaping 10-foot crater outside the station at the end of Haifa street, a main Baghdad thoroughfare that has been the scene recently of fierce clashes. Dozens of cars parked nearby were destroyed and shops and buildings were badly damaged.
Paramedics and residents picked up body parts scattered across the street and put them into boxes. Anguished men lifted charred bodies and lay them gently on stretchers.
Health Ministry spokesman Saad Al-Amili said at least 47 people were killed and 114 wounded.
After so many similar bombs, I don't understand why people still line up. Why not have submission by letter/CV and then subsequent interviews.
If this rules out people who cannot read/write...well do you really want thyose people in the police.
Idiot insurgents. Don't they realize that the more of their own Iraqi citizens they kill, the longer the U.S. will have to stay in their country to try to handle security?? The bit that intriqued me to no end was the comment by the "Iraqi Resistance Fighter" concerning the black soldiers. I wonder what organizations like CAIR have to say about that, not to mention the views of black Africans regarding this blatant racist remark. To think that blacks are converting to Islam by the thousands here in Southern Africa.
I had a good ol' chuckle though, 'cause it is a right royal slap in the face of the many people I have discussed the Islamic threat with. Here in South Africa, the government, along with a clear majority of the people are pro-Islam, and favour the causes of muslims, be they Palestinian, Chechnyan, French, Iraqi, Afghan, etc. etc. etc. Muslims are always made to be the "victims" in the media and the general thoughts of people here.

Basically the Iraqi Resistance Fighter stated the following in the clandestine interview:
Black soldiers are a particular target. "To have Negroes occupying us is a particular humiliation", Abu Mujahed said, echoing the profound racism prevalent in much of the Middle East. "Sometimes we aborted a mission because there were no Negroes".
And there's plenty of other juicy stuff in the article.
This what happens when you pussy-foot around with fanatics. If the US had been allowed to take care of business in Fallujah earlier, alot of this wouldn't be happening.
Some have forgotten that the insurgents WANT the United States to remain in Iraq for several reasons. First, they can't allow elections and a democracy to take hold. Thus, they must discourage all cooperation with the Americans.
Second, they would like to Americans to fail in their efforts in the eyes of the world, either by attrition, or by rising anti-war sentiment that would be shown daily on the nightly news. Leaving Iraq without a full implementation of stated goals would be characterized as a failure and a retreat, rather than a decision to allow the Iraqis their self-determination.
Third, they would like to protract American participation so that Americans would expend as much human capital and treasure as possible. After all, the insurgents are backed by an unlimited number of petrodollars.
I am sure that posters can come up with other reasons...
It is ironic that Iraqi men who desperately want work [so much they risk being killed for it by murderous muhajideen] to feed their families
are being blown to bits by other Muslims . Whilst
vicious idle young men who wear green head bands
and call themselves 'holy warriors' contribute nothing to Iraq except its destruction by murdering and blowing up people or pipelines. My heart goes out to ordinary Iraqis who want peace and a decent life which they never got under Saddam Hussein [although by some comments one might have thought the man was a SAINT!!]

i think that one reason america is involved in moslem countries of the middle east in order to encircle israel.
currently america is allied/involved with turkey, egypt,jordan, arabia, gulf coast countries, afghanistan, and now iraq.
perhaps iran and/or syria are next to eventually become america's allies.

Well guess what,Ramadan is near and the slaughter is just warming up,the Islamists follow the Quranic orders to kill the enemies of Allah,this includes a Verse I read that said the
luke-warm Muslims were sinner just like the unbelivers and should be smited for the protection of Islam.
The killing of Muslims in Iraq is justified in the minds of the followers of Muhammed and Allah,we just don't get it becuase we're not a culture of violence and murder at will.
Don't forget it was Saddam that was said to have
secured a ring around Baghdad and was willing to
kill millions around him if the security ring was breached.
Yeah, I think the Americans and her allies have been far too soft with those Iraqis, as they have been with the rest of the muslim world. Someone needs to go in with guns blazing before it's too late.
It is inevitable that there are going to be plenty of civilian casualties - that's the result of any war. But the way I see it is that there've been a great deal more civilian non-muslim casualties over the past 1400 years as a result of the plundering and invasions of muslim barbarians... So it evens out nicely!
