Thank you for your kind words. I think addressing Muslims like Naseem is a waste of my time, since their minds have been hijacked by their philosophy, which is totally inconsistent with the demands of reality.
That's why I just said that reality always wins in the end.
The reason that's true is because "reality" is everything that exists--the entire universe, you, the ocean, art, etc. Everything.
Reality has an identity; everything has a nature that defines what it is, what it can do, what it can't do, WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR ITS CONTINUED EXISTENCE.
For us humans, reality requires for our continued existence that we use the mode of cognition peculiar to us, reason, to acquire knowledge. Reason is the only method of cognition that humans have; it's part of our identity, it defines how we think, how we acquire facts, how we form concepts, how we acquire the kind of information necessary to survive.
Islam, on the other hand, rejects reason, which is part of our very identity. Islam requires that you depend for knowledge on whatever was "revealed" from Allah to Mohammad, without any cognitive effort whatsoever. "Knowledge" gained via "revelation" isn't knowledge at all. It's just a bunch of wishes that have to be accepted without evidence or proof. A lot of us have read some really absurd things that are supposed to constitute "knowledge" to Muslims.
Islam actually fears and hates reason and knowledge, because they threaten the very existence of Islam as we know it (three cheers!). That's why questions and innovation are considered major sins, serious moral problems, in Islam; to ask questions is to use reason, cognition, rather than revelation, as a means to acquire knowledge. That will mean change for Islam. If enough questions are asked, then Islam could actually change into something different from what we see today.
Because reality is that which exists, and because all our wishes, desires, and wants won't change it, it always "wins." Islam always tries to act as if whatever it wants, wishes, and desires is true. The Muslim mind substitutes wishes for reality.
Since Islam refuses to acknowledge reality, it will lose.
Eventually.
In order to make that happen sooner than later, though, we must, for our part, acknowledge the reality that just because Islam is a religion and there is a belief in a divinity, doesn't automatically make it a good thing, or something we can work with.
Bush is having a very hard time with this. He loves his religion, and desparately wants Islam, a religion, to be something that we have a lot in common with.
In reality, that will never happen.
That's a quick version of why I said what I said.

So a pit was dug for her, and he gave orders about her and she was stoned to death. Khalid was one of those who were throwing stones at her. He threw a stone at her. When a drop of blood fell on his cheek, he abused her. The prophet said to him: "Gently, Khalid. By Him in Whose hand my soul is, she has repented to such an extent that if one who wrongfully takes an extra tax were to repent to a like extent, he would be forgiven". Then giving command regarding her, prayed over her and she was buried."

In Luke 9:54, 55 Jesus rebuked His disciples when they wanted to destroy a town that rejected Him. Also, in Luke 22:52, Jesus' disciples started to fight against those that came to arrest Jesus, He stopped them, and healed a man injured in the fight

Islam understands no humour. In Muslim countries it is not commonplace to have TV comedies poking fun at themselves. Life, you know, is a serious business indeed! Fun is one of those things that Allah and his 'Prophet' banned for mankind for all time, along with music and art and alcohol and pork and co-mingling of the sexes, and all other religions, and befriending the infidel, and being clean-shaven, and, and, and... It beggars belief that people around the world, and even here in the West, can be taken in by this 'religion'. That some Western women can find it within themselves to relinquish their freedoms and opt for the cloistered existence of the muslimah is even more astonishing. This statement reminds me of a comment I read by Dr. Carl Jung, who when speaking about the psychopathology and treatment of clients said, "I consider a case wherein the patient has no humor to be a very serious case." (meaning, pretty much hopeless)
kc, I thought you might like this idea, since you so very well outlined the differences between Jesus and Mohammed; the Arabs worship power, we in the west idealize (and at times idolize love). Power is only interested in power and arduously seeks to be strong. Weakness is spurned, despised and treated with utter contempt. Love is viewed, by those who worship power, as weakness; however, love is far stronger than any attempt to acquire and use power. Power is absolutely undone by love. This is why Mohammed's viewpoint of the world will never prevail. Although love appears weak, it is much stronger than power and the exercise of power. The Muslims have not yet learned this. When they do, they will turn away from the nonsense they espouse from the Qur'an and will bury it along with Mohammed in a big pit and move on to something better. Let's hope it is soon.
