The jihad in Russia continues to intensify. Note that although "the Qur'an forbids suicide and the killing of non-combatants," as we're told endlessly, these attackers, who are almost certainly Muslim jihadists, have no compunction about wearing suicide belts and holding children hostage. MOSCOW - Attackers wearing suicide-bomb belts seized a school in a Russian region bordering Chechnya on Wednesday and were holding hundreds of hostages, reportedly including 200 children. The assault came a day after a suicide bomber killed 10 people in Moscow.At least two people were killed, including a father who had brought his child to the school and was shot when he challenged the attackers, said Fatima Khabolova, a spokeswoman for the regional parliament. A hostage-taker also was killed and nine people were injured, she said.
The seizure began after a ceremony marking the first day of the Russian school year, reports said, when it was likely that many parents had accompanied their children to the school. The attackers warned they would blow up the school, which covers grades 1-11, if police tried to storm it and forced children to stand at the windows, said Alexei Polyansky, a police spokesman for southern Russia.
Suspicion in both the school attack and the Moscow bombing fell on Chechen rebels or their sympathizers, but there was no evidence of any direct link. The two strikes came just a week after two Russian planes carrying 90 people crashed almost simultaneously in what officials also say were terrorist bombings.
"In essence, war has been declared on us, where the enemy is unseen and there is no front," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said.
The latest violence also appears to be timed around last Sunday's presidential elections in Chechnya, a Kremlin-backed move aimed at undermining support for the insurgents by establishing a modicum of civil order in the war-shattered republic. The previous Chechen president, Akhmad Kadyrov, was killed along with more than 20 others in a bombing on May 9.

The Qur'an also makes it quite clear that where "infidels" are concerned -- there are no innocents. Islamists will murder children in our own country next if we do not oust these people from our shores.
I am becoming dangerously close to calling for severe action Islam in the United States. Will it take the blood of our children for us to deal with this menace? I would like to think not, but we are a nation where freedom protects fools and cowards as much as the rest of us, unfortunately.

to avatar: even if the russians gas the place, i doubt the civilian casualties will be as high as they were in the moscow theatre. many of those who perished from the gas were elderly and/or in poor health. the russians did not have enough first responders on the scene to give the appropriate amount of emergency medical attention. russians might not be perfect, but i'm sure they learn from their mistakes.

Did you know that in Russia, September 1, is the traditional day in which school children start their classes? The first graders actually dress up in very special clothes just as many Americans dress up for Sunday church services.

At Auschwitz is was common practice to separate children from their mothers on the rail platforms and send them to the gas chambers.
The children were worthless as labor; separation demoralized the adult inmates...any that had temporary worth as labor; and finally, the ultimate aim was extermination of whole peoples, especially 'evil', 'polluted' Jews, and killing all the children would, of course, achieve that.

This action more than any other since the heinous attacks of 9-11-01 shows the evil nature of the islamic fascists. The Russians cannot (and will not) surrender to the demands of terrorists. Instead, they should promise that if these children are harmed, Mecca will be reduced to a sheet of radioactive glass within minutes.
I agree with Jim. ANY kind of negotiation with terror leads to more terror. They should launch a rescue operation as soon as possible,since the terrorists will kill the kids anyway. Then, they should start wiping out Chechens until there are no Chechens left.

One further point I'd like to make - you can bet that osama bin-shathead, al-zawaqueeri & all others of their ilk will be watching this situation very closely. They will be looking to see if this breaks the Russians & they will be gauging the fallout from the rest of the world. They will make a balance sheet listing pros & cons of this operation & if they think they have gained more than they lost then this will become a standard tactic in the modus operandi of the worldwide jihad. Chechnya is a proving ground for this tactic as the madrid bombings were for the ability to influence elections & the fillipino truckdriver was for the fracturing of the coalition. If the Russians do not hit back harder by at least an order of magnitude then we will be seeing much more of this to come.

I think the jihadists have made a serious mistake here. The Russians are not pussies like the French and the Spanish. Yes, the Russian military is far weaker than it was during the Cold War, but the Russian people do not back down to murderous thugs. They are a proud people and will fight back.
The events of the last 2 weeks could push Russia onto the same page with the US and the UK in the Security Council. France will become irrelevant. Their only choice will be to join with the US, UK and Russia, or admit their irrelevance and become a pathetic "neutral" state like Swizterland.
