A Christian teacher has gone into hiding in the northern Nigerian city of Kano after offending her Muslim pupils. During an economics class, the teacher reprimanded a teenage girl for not concentrating and threw the book she was reading onto the floor.This outraged students as it was a part of the Koran, Islam's most holy book. Police arrived to calm their protests after all the school's teachers fled.
Earlier this year Kano was the scene of bloody anti-Christian riots.
In danger
Police remain on duty at the Ace Academy secondary school and will do so until the tension eases, Assistant Superintendent Baba Mohamed told the BBC.
The name of the teacher, who had only been working at the school for two weeks, is not being released by police.
They fear that if people knew where she was, her life would be in danger.
Compare this incident to what happened to Bibles during the siege at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher a few years back: the Muslims used them for toilet paper.

The idea that a building or book can be elevated
above the value of a human speaks volumes about
the warnings Jesus gave on Idolatry and Baal worshipping. If Muslim and Arabs are allowed to burn and spit on Bibles during protests at U.S. Embassy's in Canada,then why should I be forced to live in fear if I offend Muslims by ripping a page from the Quran or even put bacon strips between the pages. The idea that Muslim women wear the Hijab as a free-will decision is a farce,I have yet to see a Hijab wearer Muslim remove it to show they aren't forced to keep it on.
