I believe your answer was there is nothing we can do about this but only capture or kill him.

I think that the US general in Iraq should be removed, and command given to some one like "stormin Norman".

With the mayhem and havoc ongoing in Iraq, as detailed daily in the press, it’s easy to become despondent about the course of the fighting there, indeed, in the “War on Terror” (WWIV!) overall. However, here’s an item which (if true) might be helping to stop the slide.

In Iraq, there may in fact be MERIT to the Allied tactic of making the country into an enticing “Honey-Pot”, an arena in which to trap large quantities of Islamo-fascist terrorists and militants, attracting them into that crucible and killing them there, instead of eventually being obliged to combat them in the lands of the West and of its associates.

Sources monitoring and analyzing the content of Jihadi websites advise of a distinct expansion nowadays by the Islamo-fascists in their effective harnessing of the internet, through the dar el-Islam and the Moslem communities in Europe, North and South America and Australia, busily hooking up the global “Virtual Umma”; from this, they look forward to a sizeable and steady growth in recruitment of mujahedin and popular and material support for their “Holy War”.

Reportedly, on this gradually swelling network, the rampant, incandescent hatred in the general, calumnous anti-Americanism, antisemitism and anti-Westernism is seething up even beyond its standard - i.e. astronomical - pitch. In addition, the rabid Islamists’ manifold plots against Arab governments they deem to be “qafrs”, apostates, traitors &/or heretics, are multiplying.

Albeit there’s not the slightest intention whatsoever of the trans-national, regional and local terror-cells missing ANY chance to commit their atrocities in Turkey, Indonesia, Tunisia, Russia or Morocco, or anywhere on Earth, it’s interestingly, further relayed that, of late, there’s been tapped (across a mix of texts, tracts and treatises posted, on topics surrounding their rubric of “Strategy”), an appreciable increase in references employing the phrase (translating as): “the core triangle” - comprising Jordan, Saudi Arabia & Iraq - described there as the struggle’s contemporary CENTRE, consigning this contiguous trio for the fanatics’ greatest exertions.

On top of that, most intriguingly, there are accounts of reiterated allusions, in recent months, to the notion of the conflict in Iraq, specifically, constituting the Jihad’s “return to the heart of the Arab world”, as well as repeatedly - NOT as a sentimental expression - being called, “a return home” (following years of battling on the peripheries, in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Kashmir). This news lends some strong weight to the “honey-pot” idea.

Notwithstanding, it DOESN’T mean for one second that, tomorrow (or next year), the bitter confrontation’ll be limited to Iraq, or to the “core triangle” nations, alone; to the contrary - the Islamo-fascists/Jihadis are continually striving to open new fronts all the time - particularly in Central Asia, Southeast Asia and East and West Africa.

Alternately, it DOES dramatically point up that (despite the defeatism in the media) Victory for the Coalition in Iraq - if difficult and painful - is NOT IMPOSSIBLE - it’s even ACCESSIBLE! Together with this, it reinforces the soundness of applying the concept of the “honey-pot” there.

If more such data, arriving in the near future - aptly matched for concrete correspondence with things “on the ground” - shows that this IS, objectively, an approach that’s set on the right track, then accordingly, because it’s working affirmatively, it ought to be assiduously carried through to its desirable, positive culmination, the death of hordes of Jihadis.

I buy your "Honeypot" hypothesis and further speculate if within a country, say iraq, there couldn't exist sub-honey-pots like, say, Fallujah which if carpet bombed and seiged and shaken till it rattles will probably affect the operational base of at least half the jihadis in Iraq as of now.

Najaf was another almost-successful sub-honeypot scheme wherein sadr's terrorists were all holed up in an oncentrated area and could've been carpet-bombed into Allah's all-merciful arms but sadly, other complications like the Imam Ali shrine intervened. Even then i believe it was possible to beseige the shrine and starve the vermin out.

I remember during a hostage crisis in Kashmir's hazratbal mosque in the early 90s, Israel secretly offered India help with what was called the "beefighting technique". Simple. Dressup the seige enforcing troops around the mosque in Fireman's fatigues, airdrop a honeycomb inside the mosque and watch the terrorists scamper out like there were no tomrrow.... Butr the presence of the hostges, innocent civilians, dissuaded Delhi from taking up the offer.

If the “Honey-Pot” idea turns out NOT to be satisfactory, nonetheless - at least for a while - the US retains an Alternative, by which to WIN in Iraq and, likely, in the “War on Terror” (WWIV!) generally. This is to dramatically exercise its option of the “Pax Atomica” - as long as it does so BEFORE its Islamo-fascist/Jihadi antagonists procure nuclear weapons with which to retaliate.

Kicking off in Iraq, probably in one of the hotbeds of the “Sunni Triangle” there - say, Faluja - an Ultimatum ought to be delivered, reading: “All terrorists come out, with your hands up, within two hours - or Faluja will be totally vapourized. Residents of Faluja, you have two hours to drive the terrorists out, or perish with them”. - Vitally, if they don’t emerge in the defined time-frame, this threat MUST be fully carried through, without delay or equivocation, Spectacularly.

If they surrender, fine; but whether they do or not, identical terms should next be put to Ramadi, Samara, Baquba, to every centre of “resistance” in Iraq, daily, one by one - and followed up with a nuke, if they don’t obey. Then, this message should be sent out BEYOND Iraq - to Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria/Lebanon, Sudan, etc - and ACTED UPON in every case of non-compliance.

If - as ubiquitously retailed - there truly IS a “silent majority of moderate Moslems” across the Umma, after a tiny, initial handful of thermonuclear bursts, once realizing that there’s now NO EXCUSE, NO ESCAPE and NO CHOICE except to rise against the fanatics who’ve purportedly hijacked their religion, communities, lives and destinies, these good people (presumably with a measure of relief) will hand over the murderous, maniacal militants forthwith; but if not, they’ll deserve to share in the terrorists’ fate, their cinders fused into the glass-scape, together.

During the period of atmospheric A-Bomb testing, from 1945 till the early ‘70s, approximately a thousand devices, in sum, were detonated in the open air by America, the Soviet Union, Britain, France, Red China and India, unfortunately contaminating the environment with harmful isotopes to an extent that - though highly injurious locally - has nevertheless been tolerable on the planetary scale.

Sadly, if the dar el-Islam DOES prove as thoroughly, tragically obstinate, in this scenario, as it’s liable to - as negatively, comprehensively brainwashed as it undoubtedly is - a maximum of 300 (low-kiloton) warheads could be required to smash it UTTERLY, in detail. Granted, the health of the ecology would be somewhat impacted - but in exchange, a MUCH WORSE peril to suffering humanity (a menace that’s cruelly preyed on it for roughly 1,380 years) than a minor increase in extra background-radiation, will have been REMOVED, Forever.

Instead of the US and its Allies having to fight the gruelling series of boundless, bitter campaigns of attrition (which the Islamo-fascists/Jihadis are counting on whipping up, to spread the West terminally thin and subsequently to break it), for the rest of the 21st Century, using conventional arms exclusively, it could be far better to SHORT-CIRCUIT the Islamo-fascists’/Jihadis’ bloody schemes, via the adoption of a radical therapy - fit for radical problems - reaping VICTORY, in the near future. - The first attribute it’ll need, in order to go forward properly, is Moral Courage.
