Yet another gruesome production from the Andif (pronounced and-if) political party. What do they expect to achieve by producing these videos? Do they have an agenda and if so what civilized person of any religous denomination would want to be governed by a gang of cowardly thugs who would rule by fear? They seem to have missed the point that what the coalition is doing in Iraq to begin with is replacing a government that ruled by fear. If you want to know who a champion of any cause is you ask their peers, that is why Sadam Hussein was such a successful leader; he was top of the sh*t pile.
The faceless cowards who commit these atrocities obviously do so to entertain a local audience, which makes them sort of local heroes, if they wanted to send a message to America and her allies perhaps they should add sub-titles; the only message I get from viewing such footage is hatred and revenge.

I'm still burning mad about an article found yesterday. I read about the Ohio judge (Gwin, I think) that sentenced a muslim cleric to four months time and permitted this convict to defer the start of that sentence till after the finish of Ramadan.
He was found guilty of lying on his citizenship application about having ties to terrorist organizations. Heck, this cleric was videotaped raising funds for terrorist groups.
Did he loose his citizenship? No.
Was he deported? No.
Did he receive the max sentence? No.
In my humble opinion, he should have immediately been stripped of his citizenship and deported. The mosque that he ran should be sealed shut permanently and sold at auction. His home, car and material belongings should be sold to pay for the costs involved in bringing him to justice.
His entire family should be deported with him.
Unless we make it perfectly clear that the consequences for a guilty verdict in a domestic terrorism case WILL be extremely painful . . .we will struggle with this threat indefinitely.

I can not believe how the news media and politicians downplays these blatant acts of murder. The governments of the free world make the laws and guidlines and the citizens are supposed to live by them. Why is it the governments open the doors wide to allow these “peaceful” people who intend to destroy it into the country. Make no mistake about it. If the governments haven’t found a way to stop this destructive activity, the citizens will when they have had enough. When that time comes, there will not be any sympathy. If an American wants a job in Iraq, why can't the contracting company implant a temporary sub-cutaneous homing device into that person's body?
Tracking the individual would be simple and effective.
The prospective worker would also be given the "option" of a personalized cyanide tablet, a weapon or rely upon the tracking device for his capture or destruction (along with his captors) by military homing devices.
If I were willing to work in such an hostile environment, I would certainly prefer:
1) Avoid capture and certain beheading by shooting it out against my would be kidnappers.
2) If caught and no other options existed, then death by cyanide would be my choice.
3) Caught, cyanide doesn't work, but homing device does, then let my military blast me and my killers into non-existence.

I just visited the BBC's website and checked their viewers comments on the beheadings. I was disgusted that so many of the usual "anti-war" crowd saw the "beheadings" as justifiable resistance to the "American invaders". Sad to say, a lot of these comments were from the UK , most of the rest were from the Islamic Republic of Canada. Not one of the "anti-war" comments showed the slightest sympathy for the murdered hostages. Most of them blamed Bush or Blair and none of them even mentioned Islam or Jihad. Not one of them questioned what kind of "resistance" it is to video a helpless human being having his head sawn off over a five-minute period. It is quite shocking to realise that these "liberals" do actually see this hideous slaughter as both justifiable and desirable. Why are these people so full of hatred for their own society and culture that even the most sadistic, bloodthirsty Islamic killers are seen by them as "noble freedom fighters". While the Islamic threat is our greatest danger, the amoral self-hating poison of the liberal-left is not far behind.
I believe it is because they fail to understand that Islam is the ROOT behind these actions. They truly believe that we have brought this on ourselves and if we were just more accomodating. Words like "insurgents", "muslim extremists", "Islamic fundamentalists" simply dull the mind and help ease the anxiety of WHAT is really going on.

What makes you so sure we want our troops risking their lives to protect muslims; I for one don't but nor do I think it would be wise to leave after it has been flattened by conflict and is in the initial stages of repair. If we did the jihadist would class it as a victory (Al Jazeera would be happy to jump on that bandwagon and propagandarize it to the rest of arabia), and that would take their status of power several notches higher.

Hmmm. I spent 10 years among a group of Delaware Indians. I worked at least 30 Powwows during that period. Did and Do Indians have a beef with the past? Yes. So do I, which is why I choose to Learn from it and move Forward.

You definitely have a great idea (re: homing devices), but the homing device would have to be placed much deeper than sub-Q, because it would be no problem at all for the terrorists to remove it and move on to a different place. It could be placed so deeply that it would be impossible to remove it without killing the kidnappee, which would be counter-productive for the purposes of the terrorists (at least temporarily); it could also be placed via means that would make it's location impossible to find without extremely sophisticated techniques, not likely to be available to the kidnappers.
It would probably be a good idea to place several, just in case one was disabled or didn't function.
