Abu Dhabi: The Muslim world needs a strong media presence to counter Western propaganda that damages the image of Islam, an American Muslim leader told Gulf News.Responding to a question about the media in the West and its portrayal of Islam and Muslims, Khalid Ahmad, president of American Congress of Muslim Youth, said it was the weaknesses of Muslims that had led to the deteriorating image of Islam.
"To an American, most of the terrorist activities are coming from the Muslim world. I suggest Muslims need to have a strong media front to counter the Western media and improve the image of Muslims," he said.
Ahmad said Muslim and Arab countries, particularly the GCC states, need to give full support to American Muslims to help form a strong lobby in the United States to serve Muslim interests and influence American foreign policy and decision-making.
Despite a population of seven million Muslims in the US, Jewish interest groups have a strong lobby and hold considerable sway over American foreign policy, he said.
"The Jewish lobby is strong because all Muslims in the US are not citizens, thus they have no right to vote and influence policy.
"Muslims are divided, in a sense, when they migrate to the US. They stick to their own communities. For example, we black Muslims care for domestic issues rather than political issues linked to the Muslim world. We care about taxes, social services, employment and so on. Israel is the last thing we are concerned about. But Arabs are more concerned about the political uncertainty in the Middle East."

It's way too late for Islam to boost it's image. Each Islamic fundamentalist atrocity, makes more and more people aware of what Islam really is like.

Arab fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, university students and professionals - male and female alike- are doing it. So two days after two eighteen-year old terrorists from Gaza blew themselves and 10 Israelis to death, was anyone really surprised that death can also come in the form of a 10-year old Arab boy carrying a bomb-laden bag? Luckily, the explosives were discovered in time. The seemingly innocent child was sent back to school and lived to tell about the episode.
Come on, this 10-year old kid isn't even ripe enough to take advantage of the 72 virgin bonus in paradise (talk about purgatory...). Where will all of those maidens come from anyway? Will Hamas recruit multitudes of young school girls to don explosive-packed chastity belts in order to satisfy the glut of martyrs in paradise?
The exploitation of children has been in the picture for a long time and we¹ve all seen the images. The international media has been hard-pressed to present the Arab inhabitants of Judea, Samaria and Gaza in a humanitarian light. Usually the only way to achieve this has been by denigrating the Israeli soldiers and settlers, thereby leveling the playing field. But every once in awhile a photojournalist neglects to crop his photo before exposing it to the world- and the truth is inadvertently exposed.
Last month http://www.MidEastTruth.com sent a communiqué with an incriminating photograph -compliments of Reuters- of a terrorist firing from amidst a group of children. Whether the terrorists deliberately set-up shop and fire from areas swarming with children, or whether the children are allowed and encouraged to enter the firing zone makes no difference.
Under the circumstances, it's something of a miracle that more Arab children are not killed in the line of fire. This is obviously due to the scrupulous policies of the IDF. However, this must be frustrating for the terrorist organizations, as they would resort to anything in order to recreate the media extravaganza that produced the poster child of the year 2000. Mohammed al-Dura was caught in the crossfire and the twelve-year old's dramatic death was captured on screen. That the fatal shots were likely fired from Arab guns made no difference. Al-Dura¹s death became an enduring symbol for the international community and an endearing moment of glory for the Arab world.
The real tragedy is if al-Dura were alive today, it¹s very possible that he would be armed, dangerous and an up-and-coming member of one or more of the following "youth groups": Fatah, Tanzim, Force 17, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hizballah, DFLP, PFLP or Al-Aska Brigades.
There are no innocents and subsequently no virgins in the Arab-occupied portions of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. The young generation has been raped and indoctrinated by their parents, clerics, educators, political leaders and society at large, in an orgy of self-induced violence and rage. It is a society which simultaneously thrives on and consumes itself with hatred.
I reject the assumption that a tendency towards evil stems from oppression, occupation, or poverty. Rather, I believe that destructive traits are revealed in individuals and groups which are lacking in a heritage that is based on sound ethical and moral foundations. It's this perception that causes me to question the validity of the Palestinian Arab claims to legitimacy.
A good portion of the Arab inhabitants from Judea, Samaria and Gaza have chosen to answer their challenges and trials with terror and destruction, rather than search for creative and productive solutions.
The Jewish people as well as other nationalities and ethnic groups have managed to adhere to basic ethical principles and moral behavior even when repeatedly confronted with persecution, upheaval, and unspeakable anguish. A quest for order and the desire to create when faced with chaos is the miracle of the human spirit, and ultimate test of humanity.
As human beings we have every right and are obligated to investigate and question the purpose, goals and origins of a purported people who consistently destroy the life and hopes of its progeny to the point where their children dream and aspire to death -their own as well as that of others.
We also reserve the very human right to remove those who aim to destroy us from our midst -regardless of their age.

Hey!!!! call me crazy or whatever, but how do you BOOST the image of islam?
How does any advertising agency "best" that amazing DISPLAY by the “Religion of PEACE” on the eleventh of September 2001 in New York and Washington, I mean you could NOT possibly think of a bigger advertising “extravaganza” than that or could you ?
Ok I will give it a try ,
Now let’s see how about a campaign consisting of say images of what the islamic “community” world wide, mockingly calls “JUMPERS” you might better know them as the poor souls from all over the World, who rather than die slowly from suffocation or be burnt alive decided to JUMP from the World Trade Center after the followers of the “Religion of Peace” crashed two Jet liners into their place of employment.
They could perhaps say that the “Religion of Peace will allow you to fly the closest thing to heaven” (sorry I am obviously NOT in the advertising industry) with imagery of some of the “infidels” that the muslim TERRORIST’S were sent to KILL by the “Religion of Peace”, as they fall toward earth like some Angelic beings who had decided to defy the fate that was imposed upon them by the Satanic beast that it’s God forsaken followers call allah.
You see these souls “fall” in what seems like an eternity, you watch them fall and even though you know they are doomed you watch every second in the hope that the ending will be somehow different.
Maybe in THIS film clip, THIS man or woman will some how escape the fate that the followers of SATAN have so meticulously planned, maybe THIS one can hang on to some thing half way down, maybe this one CAN fly, maybe this one is so special that God will catch him /her and take him / her home to kiss and hug their loved ones and promise to never to do any wrong ever again in exchange for an exemption from the terrible fate the “Religion of Peace” has proscribed them.
Maybe the “JUMPERS” were saying to the followers of the Beast “you will not decide when I die, I will die at a time of Gods choosing.”
Maybe the JUMPERS were saying to those World Wide who witnessed the work of the “Religion of Peace” FIGHT, FIGHT for God’s sake FIGHT while you can, whilst you have blood in your veins and breath in your lungs FIGHT, I am in the hands of my creator but YOU can DO SOMETHING “
I for one never want to see any more “JUMPERS” I would rather see those who plan to have people jumping from tall buildings KILLED. I said KILLED not negotiated with but KILLED, KILLED WHERE THEY STAND AS OF THIS INSTANT.

Boost the image of Islam? That is comparable to dressing up a corpse in nicer clothes and trying to cover the smell of death with perfume. The stink will overcome all efforts to cover it.
The only way to "boost the image of Islam" is to repudiate the acts of the jihadists, to take up arms in order to eliminate them, and to drop the sections of the Koran that demand violent jihad and ill treatment and second class citizenship for non-Muslims. Of course there are other characteristics that could be mentioned, but the flaws of Islam and the bigoted disdain and contempt that Muslims have for non-Muslims are the reasons why Islam has such a bad reputation in today's world.
A media campaign would only attempt a coverup, but the cat is now out of the bag as we are now aware of these attitudes and characteristics.
How do you go about boosting an Image that is bent on self destruction within its own tenets ?
The politics of Islamist radicalism has bred a mentality of bello ergo sum (I fight, therefore I exist) Islamic leaders are in constant need of popular jihads to boost their leadership status. Nothing succeeds like success: The attacks in the United States gave birth to a second wave of mujahidin who want to emulate their heroes. The perception of resolve on the part of the West is a critical factor in shaping the mood of the Muslim population toward radical ideas.
Therefore, the manner by which the United States deals with the present crisis in Iraq is not unconnected to the future of the radical Islamic movement. In these circles, the American occupation of Iraq is likened to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan; a sense of American failure would feed the apocalyptical ideology of jihad. And there inlies the constant of the ever growing negative image of radical Islam.
Just read a story in a dhimmi European paper on how angry US Muslims are with Bush because it's his fault that the Americans' attitudes towards Islam have become more negative (the paper obviously shared their righteous anger). Of course, the Islamic terrorists have nothing to do with that little image problem...
What this fellow -- whether a follower of Farrakhan or the now-gone-orthodox followers of Elijah Muhammad's son -- is really doing is appealing for Arab money. He is aware that the Libyans for a while funded Farrakhan. He knows the Arabs have plenty of money, and he wants some of it -- after all, what else could his plea for a "media" campaign be but a plea -- give me money, and I will lead that campaign. That's it. He wants the Arabs to give him lots and lots of money. Just like a whole raft of non-Muslim, white, well connected ex-dipomats and C.I.A. agents that have many times been listed here (tu[e "Monetarily-Induced Dhimmitude" in the "Search All Entries" box for a start).

Islam's "image" is beyond redemption. Its image portrays exactly what it is, and still many apologists and appeasers defend it as something it will never be---a peaceful religion.
There are still some very ignorant people out there who haven't a clue about Islam, despite the plethora of inculpatory evidence. They remain convinced that Islam has been hijacked; the pundits are still espousing this fallacy and the public is swallowing it whole.
My image of Islam is definitive and irrevocable, and nothing any slick PR firm does will influence or change my mind.
The mainstream media has egregiously misrepresented Islam to the public and they will continue to hide the truth as long as they can. If muslims want to blame someone for the dismal image of Islam, they need look no farther than the Qur'an.
Above mention is made of Muhammad al-Dura, the boy supposedly killed in crossfire. There is evidence suggesting that he was never killed, but that the whole thing was staged. Though there is no need for the Americans or the Israelis to apologize one whit for the inadvertent killing of true non-combatants, there is also no need to accept the evidence presented by the Arab side, as in all those grotesquely inflated figures given out by Arab spokesmen in Fallujah, Ramadi, and elsewhere -- sysematic lying which the Israelis have had to endure for years, and which the American military, knowing the truth of the matter perfectly well, is now experiencing for itself.

I don't believe my perception of Islam is wrong and the 0.0008 percent of the worlds Muslims living in Amerca need to look in the mirror and ask themselves it THEY are the ones that have got it all wrong. CAIR only got about 10 percent of their professed 5 Million American Muslims to denounce terrorism on the online petition,that's about 90 percent that condone the beheadings and terrorism, or see it as someones elses problem.
It's the deafening silence during the slaughtering of Gods children for Allah that contributes to the image Muslims claim is false and only the actions of a few people exploiting Islam. But why is there never a blanket condemnation of the people commiting the murders,the usual tripe by CAIR is that Islam forbids these action and denouce the killing of civilians.
