Although I feel very deeply for Mr. Bigley's family, his brother's efforts are very selfish. He either doesn't know or doesn't care about the consequences that ransom would make by putting more Westerners at risk and by making more money available for Islamic jihad. Furthermore he seems to be a collaborator, putting us all at risk.

Bigley's brother is an opportunist. It almost seems as though he is using his brother's kidnapping as an excuse to carry on a personnel struggle against the Iraq War. He has been adopted as a mascot of the anti-war movement and I wouldn't be surprised that if his brother is released he will praise the kidnappers and say he supports their struggle.

If Ken Bigley's suffering is genuine, that is terrible. But you have to remember that he went there on his own accord knowing full well the risks.

However I thought that there was something strange about him when his wife was interviewed for the first time because she couldn't speak English although they'd been married for about 8 years. Unless he speaks Thai, which I doubt given the Brits' poor showing at language learning, you can but wonder what their relationship was really all about.

This skullduggery has been going on since Mo' walked the earth. Arabs did it prior to Mo' but Mo' blessed it with the patina of religion.

For the sake of discussion, let's assume that at least a few of the kidnap victims are in cahoots with the thugs at some level.

But for those who would genuinely prefer at least SOME chance at rescue should they be taken, it is past time to consent to the surgical implantation of a tracking device. It could be accomplished with a very small incision, and would not only give them a crack at rescue, it could conceivably help locate the jerks who took them.

Sure, the thugs could dump their victim somewhere, dead or alive, and then leave the scene in order to escape quick detection, or they could change their tactic to the immediate, rather than the delayed murder of their victims. Clearly, it is not the intention of the Islamofreaks to release most of their captives for any reason, since their demands are so often patently impossible to satisfy.Their goal, as usual, is to put on the most gruesome, "terrifying" show they can. This could be achieved simply by littering the area with bodies without the video-taped throat-slitting ceremony, if they are afraid that holding their victims alive for prolonged periods might lead to their own capture.

Only purely criminal elements who interested in making a load of cash rather than in terror will negotiate seriously for the release of captives.

Proposing implantation of tracking devices here, as I believe you have been doing for some time, will probably not get to the people who could and should do so.

Your idea is an excellent one, only it should probably be sent to the Pentagon, perhaps to Rumsfeld and some of his people. As Defense is supposed to have the largest intelligence budget, as well as command of the special forces that would retrieve the hostage and neutralize the kidnappers, it appears preferable to CIA.

I don't know any other way to get it to the right people,unless they read the COMMENTS section on this website.

I only wish ANY of us could reach ANYONE among the "Powers that Be." It's an exercise in futility, though, and I suppose I keep talking about the tracking device to relieve some of the stress that I am experiencing because of the "brick wall" represented by people who could consider such a plan. People like Robert, who are experts in Islam, write books, speak, have websites, and people like us comment to each other, write our senators and representatives, we send letters to the editor, we get on our radio talk shows, but there just seems to be no way to get through.

It's all very frustrating. I'm no expert at tracting devices, but I know a thing or two about surgery.

I think you might be right about that. All through this I've thought something about it stinks, but the smell was unidentifiable at first.
But after re-watching all the news footage of the Bigley/ransom videos, re-reading all the articles , plus your links and comments, I think I've finally worked out the source of the smell :

As I said in my previous post (which I posted yesterday before I got stuck into my personal investigation), something about the way Ken Bigleys brothers are acting every time we see them arse-licking on TV is WRONG, their attitudes are all WRONG the way they are so expressionless, the way the use their weeping mother as propaganda, the way the american hostages were decapitated first, yet Ken is still alive (so what if he's got Irish blood, so have millions of americans), there are just so amny things about htis entire escapade that are just so WRONG, WRONG, WRONG !!!

I'm going to get in touch with the Sun about this, it really stinks, the Bigleys have been hired out by either Al qaeda, or some other bain of the islamic world ; otherwise why would Gaddaphi, Arafat, Moqtada al Sadr as well as other unmentionables be in on the "free Bigley campaign"???
