WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Court documents have revealed alleged communications between a British citizen and Mohammed Naeem Noor Khan, an al Qaeda computer expert arrested in Pakistan in July.The newly released indictment alleges that Babar Ahmad communicated with Naeem Noor Khan, an al Qaeda expert arrested in Pakistan in July.
Until U.S. officials leaked the arrest of Khan to reporters, Pakistan had been using him to track down al Qaeda operatives around the world, Pakistan intelligence sources said in early August.
In background briefings with journalists, unnamed U.S. government officials said it was the capture of Khan that provided the information that led Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge to announce a higher terror alert level.
Ahmad, 30, is accused of using U.S.-based Web sites to raise money for terrorists, including Chechen leader Shamil Basayev, who has claimed responsibility for the Beslan school massacre in Russia.
The indictment also charges Ahmad with conspiracy to provide support to terrorists, including helping to ship gas masks to the Taliban; providing material support to terrorists; conspiracy to kill, kidnap or injure people in a foreign country; and money laundering....
The document states authorities found what appears to be a 1960s or 1970s tourist brochure for the Empire State Building during a search of Ahmad's residence. That brochure includes details about the building, including its ventilation system. It also features aerial shots of the building from north, east, south and west, and a map....
Authorities also found a floppy disc that detailed movements in 2001 of a U.S. Navy battle group in the Strait of Hormuz, and discusses its vulnerability to terrorist attack, according to the affidavit. "Weakness: They have nothing to stop a small craft with RPG etc, except their SEALs' stinger missiles."
Ahmad allegedly exchanged e-mails with a U.S. Navy enlistee aboard the USS Benfold at about the same time.
One e-mail from the sailor allegedly voices enmity toward the "American enemies" and expresses support for those who attacked the USS Cole, calling them "men who have brought honor this week to the ummah in the lands of Jihad Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya."
Ahmad allegedly replied, telling the sailor to "keep up the psychological warfare."
The indictment accuses Ahmad of maintaining several Web sites, including azzam.com, which posted messages saying "the best way of helping Jihad and the Mujahadeen is by actually going to the lands of Jihad and physically fighting.
"The first and most important thing that Muslims can do in the West is to donate money," the Web sites state, according to the document.
It also allegedly directs readers to obtain firearms training and, where permissible, obtain an assault rifle. "Military training is an Islamic obligation, not an option."
The Web sites, according to the indictment, provided instruction for the surreptitious transfer of funds to the Chechen Mujahadeen and the Taliban, and instructions for travel to Pakistan and Afghanistan to fight with these groups....
In a letter published in September in the British newspaper The Guardian, Ahmad wrote, "I can't comment on the case as my lawyers are dealing with it, but I am optimistic."
"I can't believe that the government can extradite a British citizen to the land that invented Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and Bagram, for his human rights to be abused for "crimes" allegedly committed in Britain."
I can see that he himself is keeping up the psychological warfare. I can't believe that a coreligionist of those who perpetrated 9/11, Fallujah, and Beslan -- and one who probably approved of all three -- would dare to engage in that kind of moral equivalence.
Oh... yes, human rights violations against Muslims, the ultimate cry of the Muslim victim. Yes, putting underwear on the head is equivalent to throwing people off buildings, and shredding them in wood chippers. Yes, yes, feeding, clothing, and educating them at Guantamo is equivalent to flogging, burning, and gouging out eyes. Yes, indeedy Muslim "human rights" are being ignored by all those evil Americans.
This man is a danger to all Westerners, not just to Americans.
So many mulsims all trying so hard to launch attacks in werstern cities and not one has succeeded so far. Is it just our good luck or what are they waiting for? Nov. 3?
They should be forewarned that the next 'spectacular' attack (and I believe that's a 'when' not an 'if') will drive the final nail into islamism's coffin in the western world (or at least in the US)
This islamo-pig is not a British citizen, never has been and never will be. Same goes for all muslims. As far as muslims are concerned there are no national bounderies, all countries belong to muslims/allah, and any pledge of allegiance is about as trustworthy as a promise from the devil himself.
All islamic websites should be shut-down, I know intelligence groups are spying on them to gleen info,and the idiots are too arrogant and sure of their "untouchable status" that they continue to reveal things regardless.
Nontheless, these websites and forums are allowing them to plot together while in different parts of the world, recruit muslims to their cause (who beforehand where probably quite law-abiding), and plea for funding.
If we didn't keep allowing so many of the poisonous little molluscs into our country, then we wouldn't have to keep taking such drastic security measures.

If this tosser in the article (I can't say his name without spitting) gave a toss about human rights then he'd protest about the victims getting killed and maimed by suicide bombers in Iraq and Israel everyday, as well as the rights of the poor children at the school in Beslan, who I might add died or were injured at the hands of the filth he was funding.
Tie this knobless wad of pus up with barbed wire, and force him into a bird cage in Gitmo.
Seeing that he in some way helped finance the massacre of their innocent babies....perhaps this islamopig would rather be sent to Russia?
Why don't we stop all western technology from being used or possessed by Islamic countries. Surely we can arrange to keep satellites from transmitting to certain areas of the globe. No spare parts for weaponry or planes. No flights to or from those countries. Total shut down of contact with the western world. If the West is so evil- then we will keep our inventions and technology to ourselves, and they can return to the 6th century since it was so glorious.
LOL carolyn...I just pictured the muslims running around the desert with sundial watches while contemplating how to attack that evil USA without falling off the edge of the world...and then ending the day watching the sun set in a pond of mud....

On the other hand. They will have to pick their target carefully. I realize the Jewish vote probably isn't enough in itself to tip the election? But if they went after a Jewish school...
Most schools in the country are pretty well mixed. I can't really see an attack affecting things demographically? I hope someone won't prove me wrong, but I would not put it past some groups in the US to try and spin such an attack to get out the vote Against Bush.

Same goes for all of our armed forces as well as law enforcement agencies. No matter how "like the rest of us" a Moslem appears, there is always the time when he can and often does turn.
