WASHINGTON: Pakistan and Russia are two nations that could be potential sources of leaking nuclear weapons technology or fissile materials to terrorists, according to a new report by the Congressional Research Service (CRS) on nuclear terrorism."The fear regarding Pakistan is that some members of the armed forces might covertly give a weapon to terrorists or that, if President Musharraf were overthrown, an Islamic fundamentalist government or a state of chaos in Pakistan might enable terrorists to obtain a weapon," the report said.
"Terrorists or rogue states might acquire a nuclear weapon in several ways. The nations of greatest concern as potential sources of weapons or fissile materials are widely thought to be Russia and Pakistan," it added.
Pakistan, a close ally of the US in the war against terrorism, has often been described by South Asia experts as a "potential source" of radicalism, proliferation, terrorism and even nuclear war.
Pakistan is a snake in skin-tight clothing.
I say bloody abandon the bastards NOW! Take out or "secure" their nuke installations (There are 3 known ones - Kahuta being the biggest - and 17 (estimated) missile silos. India would gladly pay the tab for the bunker busters required.

Manifest in the last several years, witnessed especially in the “War on Terror” (WWIV!), the sickening, dangerous slide in the standards and performance of the UN - which the Enemies of its humane objectives have deliberately, maliciously, patiently hollowed out, richly re-stuffed with phony, harmful nonsense and then gradually paralyzed - commenced 44 years ago. The poison’s international disseminator was the Non Aligned Movement, but its Initiator had been the USSR.
Before 1960, among the proto-NAM’s most prominent Members, were India and Indonesia, neutral in practice and intent - each skilfully playing East off against West, more or less in balance, for well over a decade - and Yugoslavia, which, despite being staunchly Communist, was NOT keen to follow Russia’s line. (Adjacent, Marxist-Leninist Albania, though, fell in with far-distant China: for years, it harboured a Red Chinese submarine in the Mediterranean.)
In 1960, there was a BIG influx of freshly-independent Member-states into the UN, and thence into the NAM, greatly transforming them both. These new countries consisted principally of former French colonies in Africa - many of them predominantly Moslem.
In a bold stratagem, in 1960, the USSR carefully harnessed the influence it’d quietly cultivated in these dozens of NAM neophytes, to “arrange” the prompt passage, into diverse, fundamental ordinances of the UN, of an abundant quantity of heavily loaded language. - Come 2004, these particular, obfuscatory, Soviet formulæ - from back in 1960 - insidiously, are serving to abort the INDISPENSABLE definition of “Terrorism” in the UN, for application in the “War on Terror”.
Though the Kremlin planted these tools for mortally confusing, confounding the UN (for the venal sake of maintaining its “Revolutionary” propaganda and advancing its own schemes for global expansion), nowadays they’re being plied by dark and sadistic, Islamo-fascist/Jihadi arch-totalitarianism, Inheritor & Exploiter of that geopolitically-undefusable, Soviet-laid time-bomb.
Moscow spotted another wave of Members (the British ex-colonies) on the horizon, scheduled to join the UN, and the NAM, in the early ‘60s. In the “Cold War”, acting as a “spoiler”, it poured enormous sums and put hefty exertions into embracing - and manipulating - the NAM bloc in the UN, for ages pulling off much mischief and numerous coups through it there.
To enhance its power in Africa, Russia utilized every iota of the “Revolutionary” phraseology which it’d had the adolescent NAM enshrine on its behalf in the UN’s statutes, in order to “fix” the UN’s abstention, acquiescence, “blessing”, for the deployment of its Cuban military proxies in Mozambique, Angola and Guinea-Bissau, under the pretext of giving FULLY LICIT succour to “Wars of National Liberation from Portuguese Colonialism” - thus, NO AFFAIR of the UN. (Thereafter, it conducted additional campaigns, in Africa, in Asia and Latin America - operating then behind other, similar excuses - without any intrusions from the UN in its “Revolutions”.)
Since the Soviet Union’s been kaput, the NAM’s rapidly shifted to the patronage of a different - AT LEAST EQUALLY sinister and regressive - Entity (composed of individual, familiar, old NAM Members), to wit, the Arab League-dominated Organization of Islamic Conferences….
After 30 years of plotting, tonight, this pernicious syndicate has control over the UN’s agenda, its cash-box, gravitas and authority and it seeks a future of Islamo-fascism, not Western democracy. It works with Terrorists (if indirectly), towards their shared dream of vanquishing and butchering or converting & enslaving every non-Moslem on Earth. May I respectfully say that once again this is a nothing story. Let me say that a headline like
"N. Korea may leak nukes to terrorists"
"US may leak nukes to Israel to Isreal to destroy Iranian facilities"
"China may leak nukes to terrorists to target India"
"Every muslim in the world may be a terrorist"
etc etc etc. is equally valid and equally untrue.
Once again I think Mr. Spencer has outdone himself on this nothing story. The story is without proof or precenene and also includes the MAY word. e.g. "We may fly to the sun tomorrow" ...patently not true a nothing piece of information.
It is designed to whip up hysteria, and disinformation and anger towards Pakistan....don't believe everything you read.
Pakistan is doing what it can to combat terrorism, more needs to be done but this kind of misinformation doesn't help....don't believe it...have a dose of reality, open those eyes and ears.
Nobody understands better than Pakistan what it means to leak nucleur material to anyone. Terrorism is rife in Pakistan too, and Pakistan doesn't wan't nukes targetted on them. I am sure that our administration takes due care, sleep well.

Maybe you've forgotten the role the "father of the Islamic bomb" shared in helping North Korea out among others, but some of us haven't. Or the government inquiry and(non)punishment that your prime minister meted out to him.
Trust the Pakistani government to keep nukes away from terrorists? Yeah, sure. About as much as I'd trust a fox to guard a henhouse.
No Muslim state can be allowed to acquire, not only nuclear weapons, but any weapons that could be described as major weaponry of the kind that terrorists could use. Jeeps, rifles, the odd tank may be permitted. Stinger missiles, aircraft of all kinds, of course anything that would further missile capability or any weapons of mass destruction, should not be permitted.
Why the American government continues to give Egypt, one of the most unpleasant and hostile of countries (despite the hollow formulas "a close American ally" or "closest Arab ally of the United States), military aid, when it should be doing everything to prevent Egypt from acquiring military equipment, remains a puzzlement.
You mean our "good friend" Pakistan would double-cross us? That can't be right. Didn't George look into General Something's eyes and see his soul or whatever?
