More on the radical Boston mosque and the protests against it. From the Boston Herald, with thanks to Miss Moneypenney:
The Muslim organization behind a vast new $22 million mosque in Roxbury received a double blow yesterday after an Islamic scholar accused its leaders of tolerating ``hateful views'' and a city councilor ordered a probe into how the group acquired a choice piece of Hub-owned land at a bargain rate.Councilor Jerry P. McDermott (D-Brighton), vice chairman of the Post Audit and Oversight Committee, ordered city officials to explain why a 1.9-acre parcel along Malcolm X Boulevard, conservatively valued at $401,187, was sold to the Islamic Society of Boston for $175,000 and ``in-kind benefits'' to Roxbury Community College.
The Herald reported last week that the land deal is the subject of a lawsuit asserting that it represents an unconstitutional government subsidy of a religion: Islam.
``We want a full accounting by the end of the month,'' McDermott said. ``If they can afford a $22 million mosque, why can't they pay fair-market value for the land?''
Boston Redevelopment Authority officials said they could not comment due to the litigation.
Also yesterday, a Muslim-American scholar joined the growing chorus of voices urging the Islamic Society's leadership to disavow any connections to radical Islam.
At a press conference sponsored by Citizens for Peace and Tolerance (www.hatefreeamerica.com), Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansour, an Egyptian-born political refugee once jailed there for defending moderate Islamic causes, said ``I am here to testify that this radical culture is here inside this society.''
Mansour, a former visiting fellow at Harvard Law School, said he went to the society's current headquarters in Cambridge a year ago and discovered ``Arabic-language newsletters filled with hateful statements against the United States.'' He also said the center's library housed books and videos ``representing fanatical beliefs that insult other people's religions.''
To muslims in America:
When a state is based upon a professed religion it is by definition a theocracy.
Islam is looking to fulfill itself in a 'theocracy'.
This could very well be a 'democratic' theocracy, but in any case the main qualification for elected office is profession of Islam as one's faith.
There is a fundamental difference between a theocracy and a constitutional republic.
The USA is a constitutional republic founded upon a Deistic paradigm:
"In God We Trust" is our national motto.
However, we do not accept any religion or cult as the one single true gatekeeper between man and God. We leave that up to the individual.
The only qualification for elected office in our country is citizenship.
Therefore, it could be said that our constitutional republic is profoundly anti-islamic, because it does not grant any special status to Islam. Islam is simply one other religion among many religions, no more and no less.
And it could be equally said that an islamic theocracy, e.g. 'The Caliphate', is profoundly un-American, because it is based upon the primary exalted status of Islam as the very core of the governmental system. It is the fulfillment of the Islamic religion within its own political system. If you're not part of the religion then you'll never have real political equality or power. It is highly debatable whether a theocracy is at all compatible with democracy and real spiritual freedom.
And that, in a nutshell, is the problem.
Therefore, if you want a democratic Islamic theocracy you will need to seek its establishment within the lands of Islam.
A formal theocracy is fundamentally incompatible with our life here in the USA. That is another reason to question the continued immigration of muslims into the USA. We simply cannot afford to bestow citizenship upon an immigrant group that does not value US citizenship for what it is, but rather sees it as the means to enter our system and fundamentally change our constitutional republic into an islamic theocracy from within. To entertain such a notion is treason.
Oh yeah!....
Looks like the good people of Boston have done gone and let the camel get its nose inside the tent.
I'd be interested in seeing what the "in-kind benefits" are that have been offered to Roxbury Community College.
The US government should not be subsidizing any religion.
If the Muslims in America need money to build their mosques, I suggest they contact their bud bin Ladin.
Then we''ll build golf courses over their mosques.
Mr. Mansour has done Boston a great favor exposing the Islamic Society's promotion anti-American hatred. One hopes that the Boston PD or the FBI will be all over this organization from here out.
Mike H
Your post is one of the best that I have read. Concise and to the point. I urge you to post this letter, or an amended version to newspapers in the US, Britain and Australia.
We face a serious problem in the West as a majority of people still do not see the impending threat to all civilised values.

$22 million for a mosque while all over the world muslims are living in degrading conditions. I suppose Saudi Arabia funded this monstrosity on the face of a nice city.
Right on Mike, well said!
My question is, why is the ACLU conspicuously absent whenever the religion involved in a separation of church and state controversy is Islam?

"Looking for Answers"
by Douglas J. Hagmann
“I was getting so many contradictory answers and all I was doing was asking what their plans were. I had trouble believing that anyone would buy a facility for $150,000 in cash and not have any plan for using it.”
“Finally, I got in touch with Ibrahim Memon. He told me they had no definite plans for the place, but that they were considering setting up a mosque and a school. I asked him if he was affiliated with the mosque and school, that was nearby at 182 Sobieski. He said absolutely not. That was a sister organization but they were not affiliated…Late [sic] on he admitted that they were affiliated. In fact, it turned out that he is the principal of that mosque and school…So why did he lie to me initially?”
“What is really going on here? I don’t know. Some of this is kind of bizarre. I don’t think anyone knows for sure.” – Buffalo, NY City Councilman Brian Davis
“…But they can’t and won’t stomach what is going on in Masten Park."
Driving past the building situate [sic] on Best street, the large building is walled off and above the walls are barbed wire fence making it virtually inaccessible. It would be impossible to know from the street what might be going on inside.
“Then they bought Best street and this big monstrosity of a building. This is where their people start. For those who are inclined to think this is all far- fetched, let me tell you -- this is not so far-fetched."
I asked Fisher how he knew what he claimed to know.
"I have sources, " Fisher said. "Inside sources. These people at Best are armed and dangerous. They are doing para- military training there. – Excerpted from interview with Former Buffalo Common Council member Charley Fisher
As heard exclusively on WBEN-AM 930, local Imam Ibrahim Memon, the individual in charge of the property at 485 Best Street, Buffalo, NY was interviewed on Buffalo's Early News by John Zach and Susan Rose about the concern of area residents involving the use of the property (pictured above).
Interview excerpt: concern over paramilitary style training at the school (see above comments).
Imam Memon: “I think its only suspicion because-- ah, if children are playing they are taking any game of children as uh, training, I don’t know ah, the only thing I can say I don’t know how come, um, responsible people will give such an irresponsible statement.”
Q: Are you saying that the children are not scaling walls?
Imam Memon: “I don’t what they have seen - if they have someone climb-some children playing or something I don’t what they have seen really.”
Summary of Observations
Although activity has been documented at various times over the past six months, investigators were ultimately presented with the opportunity to secure limited digital still images and brief videotape clips on Saturday, 25 September 2004 of activity that could be described as “unusual.” Between 1500 and 1600 hours ET on this date, it noted that several adult males – all appearing to be Black or of Middle Eastern origin, were instructing at least two groups of young males. The males appeared to be between 10-18 years-old and upon closer inspection, appeared to be separated into two groups. All appeared to be attired in normal “street clothes,” although some of the older males were wearing various types of hats or head coverings.
The larger group of young males of approximately 15-20 appeared to be engaged in an adult-supervised game of roller-blade hockey. This activity was taking place in the area most easily visible from the street as one would be able to look through the chain-link fence. In other words, should someone be walking past the fence, that person would see a group of young men playing hockey.
What is most interesting, however, is that a second group of six-(6) young males were in a more remote and less visible area of the compound, although still visible from a publicly accessible vantage position. Direct observation of this group found two older males – one standing on the ground near the side of one of the interior buildings, and the other standing on the roof of the same structure – appearing to “instruct” the group of six young men on how to scale or climb the wall of the building.

The US State Department is financing the construction of madressas in Indonesia and mosques in Bulgaria with US taxpayer money. These cases were in recent news items. Wonder what State is doing elsewhere in Islam with our money?
Separation of Church and State? Is the State Department really trying to imply that Islam is not a religion, so that they can spend taxpayer money on their buildings? Or are they just ignoring the First Amendment?
Where is the ACLU when you need them? Arguing to take the 10 commandments out of a courthouse somewhere or crosses off the LA seal, undoubtedly among others.
"Rob" above asks what are the "in-kind benefits." They are:
1) 5,000 books about Islam, carefully selected by those at the Mosque itself, who will no doubt choose just the right texts, to be donated to the library of Roxbury Community College, right across from the Mosque, and the most likely place to find those who might be ripe for conversion (or at least, that is the Muslim hope)
2) a series of lectures "on Islam" to be delivered by members of the Mosque, at Roxbury Community College -- and no doubt open to the public.
In other words, the Br'er Rabbit Approach. I can just hear the Muslim negotiating the deal now, with his friends sitting impassively by him, their poker faces hiding their incredulous delight:
"Oh, this is such a burden, to have to donate 5,000 books about Islam. And now you want to make us, in addition, actually deliver some lectures on Islam to the public, all about how wonderful it is, and how misunderstood it is? Oh, please don't make us do it. Oh, alright -- but we shall have to ask in that case, that you lower the price of the land. Those lectures, and those books, are conservatively worth -- oh, about $220,000. Boy, you Infidels, and especially you, Mayor Menino, you really know how to drive a hard bargain. Whew -- we'd heard you were tough, but we had no idea!"
"Old paradigms die hard, and for far too long our indecisiveness has lent credence to unctuous simpletons like Kofi Annan when he asserts that the Israelis, the Americans, Judeo-Christianity, and the imperialist subjugation of the Muslim world by the West (pick any one) are the reasons for Islamic terror. We still do not recognize that the backward conditions that exist in much of the Muslim world are largely self-imposed by Islamic law. We still do not believe that the agenda of orthodox Islam is not to become part of the global community, but to dominate it, or failing that, to destroy it. And we have not yet forced ourselves to accept the fact that actions which are unthinkable to us are standard practice to the jihadists, sanctioned by both the Qu'ran and 14 centuries of Islamic tradition."

This whole issue looks very much like a Real-Estate scam that was uncovered through the "Income Tax" Act for Charities since they don't pay property taxes.
Basically a Development business was aquiring cheap land and constructing religous buildings that jumped in value, the aparaised value was used to secure low interest loans to build the next project. This pattern was observed and deemed a taxible business venture, the Mosque should be investigated now befor it gets flipped to a new owner, the Saudis could very well fund building the Mosque and use the new appraised value to funnel money into the Country by also using a separate account to buy the building from themselves.
If they want a deal on the land then make them pay taxes as a non-religous business since a Mosque is also claimed to be a community centre, some Islamic leaders in Canada are unhappy that the Charity-Status laws forbid Imam's or even Mosques to engage in Political promotions or telling worshippers who to vote for. They also want a Mosque to be able to provide shelter for refugee's fearing deportation based on objecting to a Political policy of the Canadian Government.
I don't trust many of the Islamic leaders since they are fully brainwashed and really want a Islamic World ruled by Shariah-Law and the Quranic definitions of human rights.
Some good news at last.
We really need to appreciate the efforts of the gentleman who first filed suit aginst ther mosque construction, the imam who broke the story of the mosque's affiliations and the Councilman who's spearheading an investigation.
The more support such poeple get, the more such exposes will happen.
And yes, nice post- Mike.
Excellent post Mike H. It's heartening to see how many well-informed and articulate people are posting at dhimmiwatch and jihadwatch. The tide is well and truly turning

I hope this starts a snowball effect with young journalists across Ameirca. I hope they see this as their opportunity to make their "big break" by researching this topic.
Instead of Dan Rather digging into President Bush's National Guard record 30 years ago, he would have solidified his career by looking under his nose...Unbelievable, when you think about it. It would sure salvage CBS news if Rather did a story on the Islam issue within the U.S. I firmly believe, the first national network that asks these questions and confronts this issue will be very, very pleased they did.

I was surprised to hear on Fox News tonight, they were reporting on the genocide in Sudan, referencing forced conversions to Islam and directly pointing out that it was Muslims persecuting Christians and other non-believers.
That's the first I've heard in major media them call it for what it was. A holy war. The strict implementation of sharia, the whole ball of wax. It's about damn time. They've been calling them "government militia" attacking "Darfur rebels". The it was the "janjaweed government militia" against the black-african farmers. Now, after months of being in the news, it's Muslims v. Christians.
Now that the truth is out, perhaps the truth can help set them free.
I wish I got FOX. This is an encouraging sign and hopfully it starts a feeding frenzy. Not one of violence and accusation, but one of peaceful discussion and enlightenment.

Mike H - Excellent Post
Everyone - excellent observations
Where is all the people in government who act like only they have the infinite knowledge? Maybe they should consult with Jihad Watch and learn what is going on.
Hurray! Finally the truth is being recognized and called by it's true name. Thank you Mike H. for an excellent post and thank you Dr. Mansour for revealing what non-Arabic speakers could not: disdain and treachery. And the term "hub mosque" is fitting -- consider what will "spin off" from this hub that will do harm ironically in the sacred birthplace of American liberty!
Mike H
Apologies for not responding earlier.
The papers most likely to publish are those who are already alert to the threat. In the UK this will be the
1. The Daily Telegraph
2. The Times
In the US, I suppose it will be WaPo and the Washington Times. The second most definitely.
No idea about the press in Australia.
Despite the fact that these papers are already aware of the threat, it may be diplomatic for Liberal readers, to phrase the letter as coming from a Liberal point of view. A kind of "sad to write this" but events are forcing you, despite your liberal beliefs and with heavy heart etc.
Terrific letter.
DP111 and ala-sux:
Thanks for the referrals and links to newspapers.
I will send out the letter this weekend. It's been a long day of work and I want to be mentally sharp.
I've been in email discussion with a few muslims and so far not a one has responded to the point raised about the difference between a theocracy and a constitutional republic. It appears to be a mjor mental road block. Interesting.......
