Less pressure on Sudan despite new Darfur attacks

Why should this be surprising? If the UN can employ Hamas jihadists, why should it go up against jihadists in Darfur? From afrol News, with thanks to Ali Dashti:

6 October - The UN reports that "Sudan has failed to disarm militias or prevent more attacks in Darfur." Despite this "lack of progress", the UN Security Council is easing its pressure on Khartoum. There is no more talk about possible oil sanctions against Sudan but enhanced focus on African Union (AU) peacemakers, which also should be set to protect the displaced.

The UN's top envoy to Sudan, Jan Pronk, yesterday told the Security Council that the Sudanese government had made no progress last month in either stopping militia attacks against civilians in Darfur, disarming those armed groups or prosecuting the individuals responsible for the worst atrocities.

Mr Pronk told the Security Council's 15 members that, while Khartoum had not reversed the gains it had achieved in August, "there was no systematic improvement of people's security and no progress on ending impunity." In September, frequent and sometimes "atrocious" attacks by the militias, numerous breaches of the ceasefire by both the Sudanese government and the rebel groups, and an alarming rise in armed banditry had occurred, he said.

The UN made the requisite pious noises about Darfur, and that is that. Does anyone honestly think it will (A) do anything substantive to bring Sudan to compliance and (B) be able to overcome internal Islamic opposition to doing anything concrete?

The U.N., that hotbed of Islamists made just enough noise and effort to say "we tried..." But of course, now their effort will be to send international "observers" to the U.S. elections where the real and important action is to be found. They will make a lot of noise, a sound and fury that will obscure the failures of the Islamists' world, and if there's "an incident," they'll be johnny on the spot to crow and condemn.

And yet the dhimmis at the BBC and Channel 4 prattle on endlessly about Iraq , WMD and Palestine. If two Palestinian terrorists are killed by the IDF the BBC report it but when 10,000 a month are dying in Sudan's camps not a word! According to the BBC one palestinian death equals that of 30,000 black Africans. Look how the "multicultural champions" of Political Correctness become racists when it comes to blaming their beloved muslims for anything.

In '99 when albanian muslims were getting wiped out by the Serbs, the UN (backed by Clinton, at his most back to front), they couldn't jump in quick enough.
Now with Sudan they are just allowing genocide to continue, unchallenged, and it is muslims who are doing the .

Why are the rules different now???

Why are muslims allowed to behave as they wish , under the watch of the UN, but no other religion could fart without being growled at???

The UN, and US and British politicians have already told the arabic filth running Sudan, to "reign in" the janjaweed, and take control of the situation ( it seems to me they already are controlling it.....), and they have been defiantly ignored.
It is patently obvious that the Sudanese government are not going to stop it from happening
so what are the UN going to do??? Why are they not taking some measure to stop it??? If these are the people supposedly protecting the planet, I'd feel safer with Hitler's nazis in their place.

Now we see what treatment Saddam would have got, if WMDs had been found in 2002:

A slap on the wrist, no candy for a week "naughty Saddam, now you better promise not to use that anthrax missile to wipe out a third of Europes population or there's no candy for a WHOLE FORTNIGHT.

The UN..... in my view they are UN-needed.

it is becoming quite clear that the u.n. is good for nothing. it used to be that the security council allowed for a forum where the superpowers could keep from warring with each other. however, nowadays, this seems remote (save for the issue of taiwan setting off a conflict between china & u.s.a. but even so, wouldn't china & u.s. work outside the u.n. in order to prevent or resolve such conflict?)

we know that iranian agents have clandestinely photographed and otherwise spied on our fair city

the u.s. & japan pay about 1/2 the u.n. bills, yet what do we get out of it?

the u.n. spends 1/2 their time obsessing over israel

they are aiding hamas & hezbollah in violent conflict against israel

and now kofi annan cannot even help his own people. how embarrassing to his mother that he dithers in sophistry while black people die from jihadist cruelty!

i say, throw them off our island!

did i forget to mention oil-for-food? my, how the list gets long.......
