He did it in Spain, after all. And America could end up voting to repudiate the anti-jihad effort, just as Spain did. A bulletin from Palestinian Media Watch:
The Palestinian Authority (PA) continues to revere Osama Bin Laden, and even suggests that he has the power to dictate America's future. In response to Bin Laden's taunting and vaguely threatening message to the US, released Saturday by Al-Jazeera, cartoons in two PA dailies today show a gloating Bin Laden determining the outcome of Tuesday's US presidential election. The first cartoon shows a rifle-toting Bin Laden, triumphantly astride the conquered ballot box, while George Bush and John Kerry - depicted as much smaller and weaker than Bin Laden -- cower below him.
The second shows a smirking Bin Laden casting what is obviously meant to be the deciding vote in the US election....
Today's cartoons suggest that should he choose, Bin Laden has real power to determine the future of the US -- just as the train bombings in Madrid are believed to have changed the outcome of the Spanish elections.
Fox News this morning [west coast]shows Bush has lost 4 points nationally since news of Binnie boys tape. Coincindental, I believe and most likely due to normal down to the wire "movement of minds"among the undecided. The danger I see in a Kerry win however is how it would be viewed around the world and especially among the Muslim Islamic universe. It's sure to send the message that Binnie boy was in fact able to alter election results in the mighty USA. What a God awful signal that would send all around the globe. I don't believe this country could retain much prestige with a Kerry win. If the scorn shown to Spain for their surrender is any indication, What will be thought of the USA should Bush lose this election?
I'm no fan of conspiracy theories but seems like a Bush win this election will be a herculean one...fighting against practically the entire mainstream media (MSM) of the world.
Cosnider how Al-jazeera (not exactly MSM though) edits tapes to mitigate Bush's successes against Al Qaeda by Osama's own admission. Witness how the NYTimes, CBS and ABC jump, twist and spin every story to reflect a worsening Iraq war, witness the scandalous silence on Kerry's post vietnam anti-war activity (some of which may've amounted to treason), witness the Moore-like twisted logic employed to justify the 'anybody but Bush' position that is the sole glue that binds the far left with the Democratic centre....the list goes on. Of course Bush has Fox and talk radio on his side. And he's not exacly a perfect CIC either.
If Bush wins, it'll be only because the voters preferred to think for themselves rather than let the media do their thinking for them.
48 hrs to go.
Lets just hope we're better than the Spanish.

George Soros Now Doubts a Kerry Victory
Dave Eberhart, NewsMax.com
Friday, Oct. 29, 2004
WASHINGTON – Billionaire investor, donor to radical causes and political activist George Soros, speaking at the last-hurrah event of his whirlwind anti-Bush tour, told a luncheon audience at the National Press Club: “Now that I am at the end of my tour, I am not reassured. ... The race is too close for comfort.”
“I embarked on the tour because I was worried that the dramatic deterioration in Iraq did not produce the decisive lead for John Kerry I had confidently expected,” Soros conceded.
Asked what he will do if George W. Bush wins another term, Soros lamented: “I shall go into some kind of monastery. If we endorse him [Bush], my next question will be ‘what’s wrong with us?’”
Competing for attention at the National Press Club was a contingent from the National Legal and Policy Center that has been shadowing Soros during his recent appearances in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida.
At a separate press conference, the Center announced the formation of its “Soros Truth Squad,” touting the fact that just hours before, it had filed suit with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaining of the activities of two nonprofit organizations that hosted Soros’ current round of anti-Bush speeches.
Also the subject of formal complaint by the Center: Soros himself. The Center alleges that Soros has failed to report “significant travel, public relations and other costs associated with his speaking tour.”
During the Center’s presentation, a representative who came over from the Soros luncheon contingent shouted out that the allegations against Soros were false. Peter Flaherty, the president of the Center, countered that Soros had not yet been served with the complaint, so how could the gentleman know it was falsely based?
Meanwhile at the luncheon, NewsMax was on hand to ask Soros about the just-filed complaint. With no small amount of irony, Soros replied: “It’s a shady group supported by a shady billionaire. ... I think I was well within my rights under the First Amendment.”
The Soros luncheon was crashed by a heckler who grabbed the microphone and held up a picture of his dead son – apparently the victim of a drug overdose (Soros supports the legalization of marijuana, the use of methadone and even the clinical dosing of addicts with heroin).
A couple of burly men in suits wrestled the man roughly out of the ballroom, smacking him into a door jam before resuming their stations to the left and right ends of the head table.
Soros stayed on topic. “Some people have a false understanding of where I stand [on drugs]."
Soros opined that Kerry was going to win Ohio, owing in no small measure to the 850,000 newly registered voters there. He added that he hoped the Republican “voter suppression” would not dampen the grass-roots movement against Bush he has been fostering during his round of speeches.
“I am very concerned about the election being dependent on the courts. Knowing who will be president on November 2 is rather slim,” Soros said. “It’s all very demeaning of the democratic process in this country.”
Conceding that his hope for a “Democrat landslide” has gone by the boards, his only direct remark about candidate Kerry was that he knew him personally and that he would make “a good president.”
Another tepid endorsement of Kerry came as he explained that, in his opinion, Kerry understood that “offense is not necessarily the best defense if it offends those whose allegiance we need. John Kerry is aware of this other dimension. ... He is nuanced because reality is complicated. ...
“John Kerry won all three debates but President Bush invokes his faith and that inspires his followers. ... Bush has shown that he is incapable of recognizing his mistakes. He insists on making reality conform to his beliefs even at the cost of deceiving himself and deliberately deceiving the public.”
“We have been spared a terrorist attack at home, but it is quite a stretch to attribute that to the invasion of Iraq,” Soros argued. “The insurrection in Iraq, however, is a somber reality and it doesn’t make us safer at home. Our security, far from improving as President Bush claims, is deteriorating.”
Soros concluded: “If we elect President Bush, the war on terror will never end. The terrorists are invisible, therefore they can never disappear. It is our civil liberties that may disappear instead.”
Meanwhile, back at the “Soros Truth Squad,” Flaherty noted emotionally: “God is right here at the National Press Club! ... I wonder if he has embarked on his tour because he wishes that he were the candidate, instead of Kerry?”

Soros is wrong about B., and foolish. The arrogance of success.
His attitude to drugs and drug treatment does not villainize him. There could be value there.
He is wrong about B., and that's the pity.
Soros has not done the world or america any favour this time.
I don't believe bin Laden caused Spain to vote
against the incumbent American-supporting leader
(Luis....something?). He once told Blair he had
only about 2% support for his Iraqi involvement. I think the Spanish population was inclined that way anyway. It doesn't help our cause much when people claim the terrorists can sway voting populations that way.

"A", I can only speak for myself, I think you may have misunderstood my post. I personally don't believe that Binnie boys tape will have any influence on the out come of our election. My concern is that the race is so close it can go either way. There does loom the possibilty Kerry could win, had neither of the tapes turned up. Now, especially with the Binnie boy tape thrown in the mix, how is that going to be perceived around the world should Kerry prevail? Well as I see it, in the Muslim world especially I think it will only be viewed one way. And that is that OBL has God like power. I also think that the rest of the free world would view Americans as fearful, and caved in just as Spain did. Whether or not that's what happened in Spain following the bombings and their election, the worlds perception was indeed OBL influenced Spains election. True, the ruling party may have won anyway, but now no one will ever know will they.
sorry, my last sentence should read:
"the ruling part may NOT have won anyway"
If America wimps out like Spain did, I will be so ashamed and humiliated. I don't trust the polls that much; they provide a glimpse of the electorate but there are so many variable elements of uncertainty. As it now stands, I see a virtual tie in several crucial states and it might take weeks to determine the winner.
Voter fraud, compliments of the Democrats and their frenzied illegal voter registration campaigns in battleground states, may actually be the determining factor in a Kerry win. It looks like the judiciary will block all attempts to expose voter fraud.
I can see the venom dripping from Democrat fangs; their hate fest might well continue several months beyond November 2nd.
I have a feeling that this is going to be the ugliest, nastiest, and most contentious election in America's history. I know one thing, I won't watch Dan Rather broadcast the election results.
Susan, that is only the half of it. Anyone and Everyone who can, from the islamofascists to the French and the UN, will be taking advantadge of the chaos caused by kerry lawyers, to further along their own goals.
Way to go, Kerry! Delay, Denigrate, Demonize... devestate.

krkrjak....my post was directed at the headline itself. I agree with your response except for
the part I surrounded by ****. That part would only be true if Kerry won by a significant amount
after having such a close race until the tape. If
Kerry wins by 1% no one's going to think it was the tape. As I stated in a more recent post, I think bin Laden put out that tape because he was unable to put out an attack. In Spain, he put out an attack...but well before that, the pro-US government lacked popular support so in that sense his attack "couldn't fail" unless every one
changed their views to spite bin Laden.
A Bush defeat, no matter how slim the margin,
with be seen by muslims, and touted by islamists, as proof of obls' power, and of the rightness of their facist/islamic ideology.
Sad, stupid, but true.
The Spanish election was also coloured by the deliberate government coverup by the new Prime Minister, attempting to blame the Basques for the horror. I think even voters who might have supported the government were angry at the attempt, to subvert the truth.
Nonetheless, the Spanish government of the brave fell, and the cowards now rule.
Surely hope the same does not happen in America,
though, to call the Kerry people cowards is, of course, nonsense.
The question is, if elected, will they accept that the Bush doctrine of preventive attack is the only credible defense, and that the war is not against obl, it is against islamofascism, everywhere.
Leave it the PA for their typical hatemongering disdain for democracy. No surprise from a failed pseudostate ruled by an autocrat.

WE WANT BUSH TO WIN
The statement said it supported U.S. President George W. Bush in his reelection campaign, and would prefer him to win in November rather than the Democratic candidate John Kerry, as it was not possible to find a leader "more foolish than you (Bush), who deals with matters by force rather than with wisdom."
In comments addressed to Bush, the group said:
"Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilisation."
"Because of this we desire you (Bush) to be elected."
The group said its cells were ready for another attack and time was running out for allies of the United States.
"Whose turn is it next? Will it be Japan or America, or Italy, Britain or Oslo or Australia?" the statement said, adding Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were also targets.
The group is named after Muhammed Atef, also known as Abu Hafs, a close bin Laden aide killed in the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan.

p.s. Why was OBL so worried about the My Pet Goat incident?
Does he have a special thing for goats?
Maybe the goat thing hit a nerve?
I picture ASSama in his cave reading a book:
MY WIFE GOAT
"A Bush defeat, no matter how slim the margin,
with be seen by muslims, and touted by islamists, as proof of obls' power, and of the rightness of their facist/islamic ideology.
Sad, stupid, but true."
ASSama wants it both ways. No matter who wins, he can claim credit for interference, despite the poll numbers which show that 99% of Americans already know who they will vote for and OBL's meddling was meaningless.
Good analysis here:
http://www.slate.com/id/2108930/
"By putting his bloody fingerprints on the election, Bin Laden has positioned himself for some bold post-Nov. 2 propaganda. If John Kerry wins, the Saudi will surely claim credit for regime change in the United States, much as jihadists have gloated about the fall of the Spanish government after the Madrid train bombings in March. If George W. Bush is re-elected, Bin Laden will crow to the Muslim world that the electoral results confirm what he has been saying all along: The American people are determined to inflict harm on Muslims, occupy their lands, and destroy Islam. They've reaffirmed it, he will say, by re-electing the man who invaded Iraq."
That tape was likely made months ago, when Kerry was confirmed as the only Dem candidate left.
Unless OBL holds up a newspaper with this Wednesday's headlines on it in the next tape (if there is one), I am very much disinclined to believe he is or will be crowing about much of anything.
