The naib (deputy) amir of the party, Senator Prof Khursheed Ahmad, told the gathering that the United States and its allies had crippled the economies of the Muslim countries by taking over their resources. He argued that the only way to recover from this subjugation was by waging jihad. He said that the Almighty had directed Muslims to increase their power, which included economic strength. “But we have given up jihad and accepted western hegemony which has enslaved us”, he stated. He trod familiar ‘anti-globalisation’ ground when he added that western multinationals had occupied 87 percent of the resources of the Muslim world in the name of social uplift through institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He said that these institutions had deployed their ‘puppets’ as rulers in the Muslim countries.

Alright, if this guy ever needs medical care in the USA, I hope some consular officer has the decency to deny him a visa; or some INS officer has the decency to turn him around at the port of entry.
I think of Mawlana Maududi, who died in a US hospital because his own civilization couldn't produce the medical care he needed.

Morgane is correct. One might add that 7th century thinking also leads Muslims to believe that making Islam triumphant and Muslims world masters would drop all the world's resources and human capital as dhimmis into their hands, also globalization, demonstrating that Ahmad is indeed a hypocrite.

The Paki senator btw wasn't speaking for Pak, didya notice? Coz pak has no big natural resources to speak of (like oil) that've been occupied by western MNCs. Pak's greatest natural resource is the Indus river (protected by treaty with a too-honest-for-its-own-good India) and the canal system on this mighty river designed and built by the Brits. The good senator should start by dismantling the Indus canal system if he's so very against foreign influences in the 'land of the pure' (i.e. pakistan, literally translated)
So I take it the Pakistani senator is calling for,roughly translated into English, "a spiritual struggle" against the US??????........

The US needn't 'invade' any more terrorist rogue states. it only needs to keep bombing them and moving out without taking any reconstruction reponsibilities. I agree with you! After all what do they have to offer except war with Inda? so we just bomb them into sub-human life and then they are worried about feeding their people?
Of course if this is what they want we can make that happen it is like kids without dads we will turn our heads and walk away?
