Muslim business owners in southeastern San Diego are angry over the city's ordering the removal of 16 green-and-white Ramadan banners from lampposts this week.For the past five years, the signs have been a fixture in the community during the monthlong holiday, a time of fasting and prayer. The banners feature a half moon, a star and the words "Ramadan Mubarak," which mean blessed Ramadan.
Yet, this week, a city code enforcement officer who received a complaint said the banners needed to be taken down because of their religious content.
Abdur-Rahim Hameed, president of the Black Contractors Association, said the removal of the Ramadan banners is "a very upsetting thing." He questions whether Christmas displays are also going to be outlawed by the city.
The code officer who inspected the banners found they didn't meet city code because of their religious subject matter. The officer's supervisor, code enforcement coordinator Melody Negrete, also noted that the Diamond Business Improvement District, which runs the neighborhood's banner program, had not obtained a permit to display them.
The city asked the district, which stores the banners and pays to have them put up and taken down every year, to immediately take down the banners. The district complied the following day, the district's executive director, Cordell Thomas, said.
The city of San Diego reimburses the district for putting up and removing the banners, Thomas said.
Negrete said the officer cited city code that says "banners shall be used for the purpose of promoting cultural or civic events or activities of general public interest." The officer also referred to a city special event flier, which says that "the banners cannot be political or religious in subject matter."

The green banners are defintely a religious statement. City ordinance prohibits such statements. It is clear they are against the law. However, this is yet another example of how Muslims show that they believe that they are above the law. Laws of the host country are to be obeyed as long as they don't interfere with Islam. And who decides what is or isn't Islamic? The Imam does. He refers to the Qu'ran and ahadiths to issue his pronouncements of what is or isn't Islamic. The banners during Ramadan are definitely in the furtherance of Islam. Thus, city law is trumped by Islamic law. We shall see who will win the struggle, one of many. The eventual winner will have accumulated a mass of sometimes tiny victories. This has been the previous pattern of Muslim behavior for more than one thousand years. Stay tuned for further developments.
Perhaps the city ordinance should be changed to ban all symbols, on public property, not only those defined as "religious" and "political" but as "religio-political" so as to clearly cover Islam. One would like someone to begin to discuss all the aspects of Islam that go far beyond the mere rituals of individual worship (the Five Pillars) and offer a comprehensive geopolitical program of conquest and subjugation. This has to start. De-empasis on that respect-commanding (in some circles) word "religion" in all discussions of Islam, permits greater clarity.
In defending oneself, one's country, one's civilization, against this monstrous belief-system, the most important initial step is vigilance in the use of words.

word of caution in our exuberance. one must not forget that population trends in southern california over the past few decades have turned san diego into the southern portion of an almost continuous city-strip whose northern post can be found somewhere north of los angeles. along w/ such city-strippedness comes contiguousness in political thought. on that note, given southern califoria's quite left-of-center political leanings, one is curious what the line is on this ban surviving vs. the banners flying high once again next year

San Diego is a military town and the county went for Bush in the 2000 election.
Other counties in SoCal that went for Bush in the 2000 election: Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange, these are part of the SoCal megalopolis.
The left-of-center politics begins showing a majority in Los Angeles County cities and holds sway in all coastal California counties from Los Angeles to Marin County north of Frisco(San Francisco), except for coastal San Luis Obispo County which went to Bush in 2000.
SoCal and all inland counties in the State of Califonia went to Bush in the 2000 election(except for Imperial County). SoCal is the right-of-center portion of the State.
I know many people who would like to secede from the coastal left-of-center political areas of the State. The left-of-center new State could be called Jackass and the right-of-center portion that secedes would naturally retain the name of California.

For those interested in Mr.Muhamed Elmasry of the Canadian Islamic Congress,below is a link to one of many op/ed's where he defends Jihad and praised the Iraqi Cleric "Fat-boy Sadr",whom by the way murdered almost 200 Muslims within a Mosque and stored the bodies in the basement.
The C.I.C.'s Board of Directors issued a statement that Mr.Elmasry's call to kill all Israelis over the age of 18 is only his opinion and does not reflect the teachings in the Quran or represent the views of the C.I.C. .
The man is the National President,they get
donations from Muslims to keep them alive financially and now claim only a few Muslims might agree with Mr.Elmasry,but the majority don't subcribe to antisemitic comments and nor does the Quran have any verses promoting hate towards Jews.
The C.I.C. fails to recognize that it's the
collective behaviour of Muslims that define Islam and the Quran. I'm getting tired of CAIR and their ilk absolving themselves from any connection to a militant or violent sect of Islam.

It looks like the esteemed scholar Mr. Emerick has already decided for us what the future of this land, "his land" would be. He just kind of forgot to ask us what we think about this idea... Well, maybe he thinks that whoever would be opposing such a "bright" future may be just beheaded and forgotten. This is shocking. I feel like saying directly to him (I wish I had the e-mail or something) - this is MY land too, OK? You think you will try to become "the dominant social and cultural force in a country" (the nerve, huh?) and then do what they do in Sudan, in Indonesia, in Nigeria, etc., ect., etc... (Don't say you want peaceful co-existense! History has proven otherwise time and time again that once this is a dominant group, all other groups are not considered people). Well most of us are not blind! And such articles should be a warning about how they will be masking their true intentions! Besides, another point he makes in the article about organizing and living in big communities - note, even in the news that come from Europe nowdays it is pointed out that they do not start to attack the local populace until there is enough of them to form GANGS of young men of certain descent. This is usually the way cowards act..in groups.
And there is a hint about what they are afraid of - they are afraid that should they neglect to brainwash their children even for a minute, their kids might just prefer the American way, along may be with another religion as well.. He is AFRAID that the immigration from certain lands will dry out and their community will assimilate! I say - stop the immigration into the US from those lands NOW (hope that Canada and the EU will come to their senses and do the same) and let those fears of his materialize! Now this is my vision of the future of this country.

This is in contrast to guidelines from authorities that patriotic symbols like flags, can't be publicly displayed right after 9/11, as this might offend certain groups.
And do folks remember the story about the materials from San Diego school emergency procedures found on a CD belonging to a Jihadist in Iraq?
What are the probabilities that these Jihadists in Iraq know someone in the San Diego Muslim community?
And, as I recall, the FBI made some inquiries in San Diego. I wonder if that had anything to do with the new awareness of city officials and the complaint?

Good morning. I wanted to relay congratulations with regard to your ordering of the removal of Ramadan flags in your city. You'll surely receive whining complaints from Muslims, accusing you of attacking their rights.
Unfortunately for them, they don't understand their rights, nor do they respect the rights of the majority in this country. Please do not give in to them on this issue.
Their quest for world conversion to Islam is built on small steps like this. Please do not submit to their whining and moaning. They need to understand that the laws apply to everyone, including them.
I'm only a small part of the tens of millions (literally) of people who blog on the web every day and are in support of decisions like the one you've made. Islamic puppets should understand that Church and State are separate for everyone, again, including them.
Again, congratulations for putting these arrogant racists in their place. Please remember that they are trying to undermine our constitution, hoping that someday they will replace it with their century-impaired Shari'a law.
