More than 80 suicide attackers have been trained on foreign soil to launch strikes in Russia, according to the country's security services chief.During a debate on national security, Nikolai Patrushev told parliament that some attackers had been "neutralised".
But he said he could not guarantee there would be no further attacks.
Suicide bombers have been responsible for many attacks in Russia, including the bombing of two planes in August, which killed more than 90 people....
"For the secret services it is nakedly clear that the ideologists of the terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus are [Chechen separatist leader Aslan] Maskhadov and Basayev and men from al-Qaeda. As for the Beslan attack in particular, it was organised by Basayev," he said.
Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov told the Duma that existing legislation made it hard to fight terrorism effectively.
He suggested detaining relatives and confiscating finances could be efficient deterrents for would-be suicide bombers.
"Detaining relatives and showing terrorists what may happen to their relatives could help save people's lives, so let's not close our eyes or put a diplomatic face on it," AP quoted him as saying.
"When you live by the sword, you die by the sword."
We should all understand guarantee against a terrorist of any stripe is impossible. Nilhists only care about "the cause," not about the life of ANY human being.

Yes, we in the West have had our differences with the Russians, and true, so have those in Central Europe. O.K., Africa and Central America didn't fare that well because of them either. Alright, so they had a lousy foreign policy. Is that a reason to hold a grudge? I don't think so. In fact, having perhaps gotten the last half of the Great Game under our belts, to mix my metaphors, I think it's time that we consider that we have more in common with the Russians than we do with most other people on Earth.
Let's start with the concept of global jihad. It's global, and the Russians are as much on the front line as are the Israelis and Americans. Common cause against a common enemy.
To make a slight lateral move, we had a writer recently, an Indian emigre in Britain who expressed his concern about the nature of jihad. Yes, one can sympathize with a nation that suffered Aurangzeb and now the heirs of Maududi. Again we have common cause. With the Russians we share the triump of celebrating Andrei Rublev, and with the indians, the Kama Sutra.
I ask that we spread our invitations further, that we make links with our Russian, Indian, and nearly evey other People of the world in our struggle against globaql jihad. Let's start at home, but let's also keep open the idea that our friends might be distant as well, and that we might still benefit from drawing them nearer to us.

Agree with you.Like India, Russia is a natural ally in the Global fight against Terrorism.
And let's not forget CHINA - which has its own Muslim 'problems'.
The Global Jihad can only be countered by a Global Anti-Jihad.
Think of it - the USA, Russia, China, India, Europe, Israel, Australia, Canada and many other endangered countries all joining together in common cause. Not only would it eliminate the biggest threat to civilization, but it would also bring the countries in such a coalition closer together: a major step towards lasting world peace.

perhaps the western civilised countries, we should add that those who live by the sword in defending us are stabbed in the back by daggers.
Russia has obviously not yet been rendered comatose by years of democracy and cosseted living.
It still understand that when you are attacked by a swordsman, you do not blame your leaders, you face your enemy.
What do the Indians do when they are slaughtered by rampaging muslims ? they riot and burn down a few mosques. And our press is horrified by such "barbarism" and the rampaging muslims are always marked as "victims".
Yes the strengh of our democracy is offset by a weakness of will , and we live in denial unable to comprehend the vileness of jihadist actions, seeking to blame anybody but the perpetrators.
Our indoctrination in the belief that human beings are born good and only commit evil because of psychological problems or because they are "victims of persecution" is flawed.
Human beimgs are what they are moulded into and we must realise that some are moulded to perform evil. Islam moulds such people, they feel neither guilt or regret for the killing of children , women and the beheading of innocents.
Indeed they feel pride and religious fulfillement.
There is only one solution for dealing with such people- execution.
So when we send our brave young men, they need our full support, not the stabbing in the back of the libertarian media and left wing intellectuals.
So we have much to learn from the "less democratic" nations in how to deal with those who wish to destroy us.
