BERN, October 17 (IslamOnline.net) - Switzerland’s Green party has sued veteran Swiss journalist Frank Meyer over his anti-Islam writings.The party’s parliamentary bloc, led by Cecil Buhlman, accused the journalist of not only assailing Islam in violation of the anti-racism laws, but also undermining the country’s religious harmony protected by the constitution.
In a weekly column published in Sonntagsblick newspaper on September 5, Meyer, a staunch supporter of Israel, described Islam as a "terrorist" religion.
He was recently fined 25,000 Swiss franks ($2,000) over unsubstantiated charges for the Swiss national exhibition authority of squandering public funds.
Sonntagsblick had shunned a request by the Green Party to publish an article to refute Meyer's allegations.
It argued that the party’s lawsuit had killed all chances for a peaceful settlement of the issued outside the courtroom....
Islam is the second religion in Switzerland after Christianity.
The country is home to 350,000 Muslims representing a sizable 4.5 percent of the country’s some eight million people, in addition to more than 10,000 illegal Muslim immigrants.
Turks represent 43 percent of the Muslim community in Switzerland, followed by the Balkan people with 36 percent.
Let the lawsuit begin. Let the texts of Qur'an be adduced, and the relevant hadith. Let the full story of Muhammad be put into the record. Let the Green Party, or anyone else, deny the hundred-odd verses that preach Jihad. Let the pleasure Muhammad took in ordering assassinations, or in hearing of assassinations of those he regarded as enemies, be brought to public attention. All such lawsuits should be the occasion of the noisiest possible kind of publicity given to the canonical texts. Carpe verbum.
And so the similar reports go on and on....The Greens eh? Pro-Gay, Pro almost everything that Fundamental Muslims want to destroy are once again aiding and nurturing their enemies.

Hugh - I hope you are right. I wonder what stipulations will be made. Will introduction of the texts be allowed? Will witnesses be allowed uncensored testimony? Judges are famous for picking and choosing the kinds of evidence that are allowed in the courtroom. What can be expected of courts in an Islamized Europe where "religious harmony is protected by the Constitution" as revealing the dark side of Islam would certainly not add to religious harmony.
We have to worry about such things on this side of the Atlantic as there are groups that are putting forward similar legislation. The Bible is being assailed as "hate literature," and religious teachers are being censored as to the kinds of moral lessons that are now considered teaching of hate. Vigilance is necessary during times of confusion as these are the moments during which such legislation could easily be slipped in while our attention is rivited on other matters.

Race=group of people of common ancestry with distinguishing physical features (skin color, species, type)
Racism=belief in innate superiority of particular race; antagonism toward members od different race based on this belief.
Belief=have faith---ideology

It's tragic that the Left in Europe and America have become so bankrupt of any positive ideals or visions of the future that they need to resort to being pro-islamic in order to have any policies at all. Since the ending of the Cold war the Left has desperately being seeking a new ally in their assault on our civilisation. For a while it seemed that jumping on the enviromentalist bandwagon could be their answer but the enviromental issue contained too many complications for the Left. Firstly it meant that they would need to come up with well-thought out alternative visions of the future for an overpopulated world - something beyond their purely negative anti-Western mindset. Secondly their unthinking reverance for everything third world (their own twisted version of "nostalgie de la boue") meant they couldn't criticise "developing" nations who flouted ecological agreements or destroyed local natural habitats. Also, "enviromentalism" wasn't "sexy" enough for the Left - no idols like Che or the Red Army or the Viet Cong to go all weak-kneed over. But then came 9/11 and the Left had their new ally. An ally who hated the West as much as they did, an ally who were at ease with violence , an ally who the armchair revolutionaries on campuses and the media could go all weak-kneed for. Like the gutless, simpering boy who worshipped the schoolbully in the book "Tom Brown's SchoolDays" the Left fawned over the rugged , totalitarian, cave dwellers of islamofascism. At last here was someone who could stand up to the West , against Israel against America. Middle class boys and girls on campus could now chant "death to the jews" without feeling guilty about it, they could dress up like Palestinians the way their predecessors wore Viet Cong flags back in the 60s. Being Left was "sexy" again. And for the Left in Europe the years of mourning were over, maybe the Soviets were gone for ever but a new "friend" was rising in the East to help them rid themselves of the judeo-christian culture that they so despised. Thus the Left has hitched it's wagon to the star of islamofascism - let us hope that when the banner of the crescent moon finally falls, the ranks of the self-hating , parasitical Left will fall with it.The "Greens" of Switzerland have chosen their side - they are with the suicide-bombers, the rapists, the stoners, the beheaders. Son of Albion- Bang on target! The left would be a tragic joke if they weren't so dangerous.
The middle class student left were left high and dry by the working class years ago, when much to the puzzlement of the tariq ali's and redgraves, working class people would rather have holidays in spain, nice cars and houses and other awful bourgeois goodies, than overthrow the state and have the likes of the clowns I've mentioned installed as their new lords and masters.
Just doesn't make sense does it?, why didn't we want to be like all those lucky people on the other side of the iron curtain?, oh the joy of empty shops with nothing to buy, those lovely little trabant cardboard cars, and the wonderful mayday parades of endless jackbooted stormtroopers marching.
The left have been floundering around looking for a new home, and they think they've found one in islam.
Whatever happened to that old marxist slogan about religion being the opium of the people? what happened to womens, gays, blacks, hindus etc rights?
If ever two groups of people deserved each other, these two do. Let the left carry on distancing themselves further and further from the common man, it's a one way ticket to irrelevance.
As an environmentalist my fervour to preserve the planet is compounded with a realization that the more petrol people put in their car or the more plastic they needlessly use the more they are funding the Arabs and Iranians who are using the oil revenues to destroy us.
I have seen hardly any Muslims at any eco rallies, so what sensible reason would the greens have to stick up for Islam unless its part of 'my enemy's enemy' nonsense?
It makes sense for environmentalists to be against Islam.
I don't know whom I'm more frustrated with apathetic Joe Public who just doesn't care about the environment or the misguided so-called 'intellectuals' who make up the Greens.
