AS many as six of the State's most dangerous prisoners have become supporters of terror mastermind Osama bin Laden after converting to radical Islam while in jail.Intelligence obtained by the Corrective Services Department reveals some of the inmates to be supportive of bin Laden and terrorism.
Authorities are concerned by the potential for a terrorist cell to be formed inside NSW prisons....
The jailed bin Laden followers - who are of Aboriginal and Caucasian backgrounds, as well as Middle Eastern - are under close scrutiny and prison security measures have been tightened.
That means that some are converts.
A recent planned attack on Spain's National Court was plotted behind bars.Seventeen people have been charged with terrorist offences for plotting to bomb the court with 1000kg of explosives earlier this month.
The attack was planned by inmates within a terrorist cell formed in prison.
The Sunday Telegraph can reveal that one of the converts to Islam is serving a life sentence in Goulburn's maximum-security Supermax prison for a shooting murder.
Prison authorities say he is open about his new faith.
Corrective Services Commissioner Ron Woodham said the inmate was of concern, given his background and extreme views.
But Mr Woodham said he was not among those prisoners who were openly supportive of bin Laden and terrorism activity.
"The other inmates who are supportive are in for murder, serious assault - they are extremely dangerous in their own right.
"Prisoners convert to faith all the time, but our intelligence has revealed that up to six have taken on very extreme views that are of great concern to authorities - particularly with recent events overseas, where the prison system has been used as a recruiting ground by terrorist organisations.
"We're watching every move they make, and we are working with law-enforcement agencies in other states to ensure that they are closely monitored."

In today's New York Times, there seems to be just a glimmer of a hint of understanding that there is something about Islam -- "Something About Islam" with Cameron Diaz -- that is not quite -- right? There are beginning to be too many stories coming in from too many places: Thais and Muslims, Filipinos and Muslims, Indonesian Christians and Muslims, HIndis in Bangladesh and Muslims, Muslims destroying churches in Kosovo -- hard to avoid the impression it all gives of Muslims here, Muslims there, murderous Muslims everywhere (with thanks to Margaret Wise Brown).
And one of those stories is about Judge Balthasar Garzon, in Spain, and the problem of Spanish prisons, where the prisoners, many of them already from the Maghreb, providing a ready pool preyed upon by the ministers of Da'wa, who end up with the Richard Reid-Jose Padilla types -- and after all, unlike the Christian ministers, they are not out to save their souls, but to obtain recruits for the Army of Allah, the Greater Hizbullah. He wishes to separate out the Muslim from the non-Muslim prisoners. Harder for Da'wa to be conducted. And of course Garzon cannot be attacked as a sinister, rightwing, figure -- reusing all those cliches hurled at Ashcroft -- because he is most famous for attempting to bring Pinchet to justice. How confusing, then, for some who might, on the left, wish to attack him.
After Jihad-conquest, the Muslims did not separate out those non-Muslims who subscribed to "The Nation" or "The Guardian" (in England) from those who read "The Telegraph" or "National Review Online." No, all Infidels are the same. This should not be forgotten.
All the disaffected--the gangs, the mob, the prisoners, the "victims," the "oppressed" etc.--are fertile grounds to mine for "converts."
Islam, as a "religion," grants these people the moral authority to "strike back" at those they blame for their disaffection.
Unfortunately, the gangs, the mob, the prisoners, the "victims," and the "oppressed" will find that they feel no more competent, independent, or happy after they accomplish their goal of ridding the earth of "others."
They will still be disaffected, incompetent, dependent, and unhappy, and they will turn on each other as the "cause" of their problems. "Not 'pure' enough," they will cry, "Not the correct ritual," they will cry, "Not the right version," they will cry, and the violence will go on, forever and ever.
Unless, of course, we stop it sooner than later; unfortunately, the Powers That Be are slow to recognize the nature of the problem.
Better start killing the crimals like in the old days !!

I saw this story on TV last night. It made me feel good to realise that at last the Islamic menace was being taken seriously.
Of course muslims started complaining that we were blurring Islam with violence. Yup, we sure are.
But with each drip, drip, drip, of stories like this one, more and more people start realising the dangers of Islam.

The Jihad is being waged on all fronts. Even those in prison, are waging jihad as they have to be monitored. Provisions have to be made for muslim prisoners for their separate incarceration, dietary regulations, muslim chaplin services etc etc. The list seeems to be endless, to cater to the demands of muslims in their devotion to islam. In addition provisions for their removal to other more secure instititions. Alongside this, a huge outlay in legal fees for each and every so called human rights infringement of muslims in prison. All this comes at huge additional cost. For the jihadi prisoner, all this harms the infidel economy and is thus acceptable by allah as jihad, under the circumstances that the poor jihadi finds himself in.
I work in the legal field in Sydney, and have heard this story many times. Islam is the perfect magnet for angry losers - and prisons everywhere are full of those types.
Thanks to idiot lefties who promote stories of the 'stolen generation' (the movie "Rabbit-proof fence" is a good example of their propaganda), and believe that early Australian settlers were entitled under the law to kill and skin aboriginals, etc etc - there is a big community of angry aboriginals.
Many aboriginals live in the same way as the majority of Australians - ie, they have a job or career and are not dependent on welfare, but colleges and universities consistently have trouble filling quotas set aside for aboriginals.
I dont think many aboriginals will be enthusiastic about Islam once they learn about the prohibitions on alcohol, drugs and promiscuous sex. Couldnt see them praying 5 times a day either.
Since aboriginals are approximately 1% of the Australian population, this doesnt represent a real threat, but the fact that Muslims in prison are trying it on with aboriginals suggests that instructions from some Islamic 'cleric' are being followed.
Surprisingly, that mouthpiece I always have such derision for (Keysar Trad) did agree with banning a certain Islamic cleric from going to the prisons because of an "undesirable influence". Well, good on ya, Keysar! Starting to see the light? Or is this some elaborate kitman/taqiyya thing? I'd like to think the former, but can't help but think it's the latter.
But, not surprisingly, some disgusting civil liberties drongo said he was concerned the govt was linking a religion to terrorism (oh gee, wonder why?), and that people should be free to practise their religion without the govt having any say so in it. Typical of that mob. Wonder if they're busy putting together a legal challenge to the banning of that certain Islamic cleric as we speak?
Amazing isn't it, who they can successful recruit -- the most depraved among convicted criminals and the most brain-dead of flamed-out pop stars.
