Although it seems to be muslim children that have little understanding of non-muslims , the muslim council of Britain has decided to launch a teacher information pack aimed at getting 5 - 11 year-olds to "understand islam". Reporting the muslim plan, the dhimmi Channel 4 News invited on a female speaker from the MCB to tell us that non-muslim children " need to know the true nature of islam." With the usual bowing and scraping from the Channel 4 "interviewer" the woman said that the media's view of islam "was always negative" (strange I always thought our media bent over backwards to call islam a religion of peace) and that children "needed" to have a "positive view of islam because it was exactly the same as Christianity." (this obvious lie went unchallanged by the Channel 4 dhimmi )
Following on from dhimmiwatch's story about the muslim attempts to introduce islam to the schools of Virginia, it seems that the muslims are conspiring to brainwash our children under our very noses. Can someone tell me if any Arab countries allow the benefits of Christianity or Judaism to be taught to muslim children ? Oh and for the record the Channel 4 guy asked ONE good question. "Will you teach them about jihad ?" he asked . "No," the woman answered : " That is politics, we only want to teach them our religion". (Of course he didn't pick up on this admission that islam has a political side )
As far as I know the million or so Hindus in this country have never demanded that their religion be taught to 5 - 11 year olds, nor have the Jewish or any other faiths so demanded. Once again it's only the islamic deathcult that DEMANDS we understand it, make allowances for it , turn a blind eye to it's extremes and never question it's motives. This concerted attack on our children on both sides of the Atlantic can mean one of two things : either the islamists are worried that people are starting to see through their lies and are having to hurry their attempts to "convert" us OR they are so sure of our inaction because of the dhimmitude of our politicians and media that they think they can get aware with this blatant propaganda push aimed at "getting them young". Either way we have to fight to protect our kids from this death-worshipping sickness.

Immigration reforms are needed across the board, not just with Muslim immigrants (who should be very carefully screened). Otherwise, just as Enoch Powell said, there will be the real possibility of social strife on an unbelievable scale in the UK.

But *shock horror* I have to say I disagree with your comment about C4 news being "dhimmi".
Although I did not see the particular program of which you speak, and agree that perhaps the interviewer was far too butt-licky, I'd have to say in comparison to BBC news 24, channel 4 news is infinitely more neutral than most other news outlets in Britain.
I say this because on the night of the Beslan massacre in Russia, C4 news had a European/International Terrorism expert on, who openly pointed out that chechens are linked to Al Qaeda, and islamic terrorists are on a mission to destroy the west, rather just being a Rebelion against US foreign Policy in Iraq and with Israel, as the left often insinuate. Also later that show braindead left-wing whorebag Vanessa Redgrave came on ranting and raving about the chechen side of the story even in the face of such sickening brutality from the chechen terrorists, and Krishna Guru-Murphy, belittled her idiotic ultra-liberal comments , made her look foolish and insensitive, and interupted her rant, ending the interview. Since then I have always relied on channel 4 for my evening news feed, and although they sometimes miss the mark a little as you pointed out, mostly they are far less bias than the unmentionables (for example, when Ken Bigley was first kidnapped, and his brother Paul went on his Blair crucifixion mission, C4 news quickly set the record straight that Paul Bigley's views of the kidnappers holding Ken as fighting for a "just cause" were wrong, and that gave a detailed report of what murderous savages they are.
The night when the Muslim Council of Britain were on, they may not have got stuck into them as they should, but thats the PC nature of news shows, and it's more down to a lack of knowledge about the roots of islam, and a fobbing off of Jihad meaning violent war against infidels.... but at least the interviewer asked the question "will you be explaining about Jihad?"..... the problem is when he gave the answer he did he should have continued to challenge him with more like-minded questions.
When a member of the same council appeared on BBC news on saturday morning, and the muppet was going on about how Ken Bigley's bloody death was "un-islamic" the Beeb interviewer just left it there instead of asking the question we're all dying to know the answer to:

Maddening isn't it how the only way we're going to get anything done about the ludicrous immigration catastrophie in the UK is by voting in the Tories or UKIP, both who have some worthwhile policies, but fall short with many others.
Then we have Labour, who in my view apart from the tide of invaders they've allowed to pollute our nation, and the banning of guns, have actually done this country some good.

I understand what you are saying, but you really have to live over here to see how far beyond a joke the immigration process has got.
I myself am not racist, have mixed roots myself, and have many friends of all different cultures and backgrounds, and if I could choose any particular creed/culture to be ridden of it would be muslims without a doubt.

But the problem is , if somethings going to be done about our massive immigration problem, we can't just weed out muslims, it's got to be the same for ALL immigrants ,of ALL cultures and races, no government is going to single out just one race or culture.
So by that logic, I must agree with "Free the UK", get rid of them all (if we have to send a few hundred Africans,Indians or Russians back home just to get rid of the hundreds of thousands of muslims piling over here with their 10+ kids per family, their heroin, their AIDS, , their demographic conquest, their hatred, and their terrorism, I'm all for it).

Excellent comments, You are, of course, quite correct. I can tell you that when my kid arrives home with anything to do with "learning about the true Islam" is the day I take him out of that school. Fortunateley, he is a switched on kid and already knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of similar, but not as extreme, behaviour from an "Asian" kid. My kid was told, and I quote " you are all western white trash and one day soon, we will take over the country" - This from the mouth of a nine year old "Asian" (you know what I mean) who has an english, sorry, British, mother. You just want to know what goes on these peoples's houses.
My kid even told me that the "Asian" kid's father is getting "his own door" built in their home, that the mother is not allowed to use.

As For my views on your comments, well it's easy to work out what goes on behind a muslims closed doors, they have the same hatred for infidels drilled into them that they do in arab countries.
I remember after 9/11 the attitudes of local muslims changing, like they weren't your just your shopkeeper anymore, or whatever. I remember seeing and hearing muslims celebrating and cheering both on the TV and locally. And then we got all of the bullshit apologies days later, denouncing it as un-islamic, and sick (to protect their image more than anything), and more of them seemed angered by the fact that muslims where among the dead.
You do right to teach your child to be aware of them, always keep an eye on what he's being taught in religious studies, and tell him not to take any shit off any of them. They may think they have Racism Laws on their side, but learn how to make it backfire on them, painting them as the racist (which is the stark truth of the matter).

Thanks, you seem very clued up on this, and to be honest, I'm only really waking up to how widespread this is. I don't live in England, but in the UK somewhere, a bit reluctant to name the spot. Is this Kalifah thing UK wide then?

As for making it backfire, sounds like we are already doing it, albeit in a slightly more subtle way - a lot of the parents round here, with an eye on this have withdrawn thier permission for the kids to have ANY RE in school and some have even taken the kids out altogether and teach them at home.

For my part, I have asked my kid to report any more stuff like the Asian kid was spouting to me and I will take it further. Some parents have already confronted the mother and father - the mother ignored them and the father said something like " they are only kids name calling, what's the problem?"
My view is that they are learning this somewhere and it's not at school.

No one should be surprised. The chid is just emulating the speech and aspirations of the significant adults. Of course this will escalate.

Yes Khalifah is a nationwide organization, from what I can gather.
The British Muslim Council, the UK equivalent of america's CAIR is a problem too because they are always the ones to jump to the rescue when islamic jihadists/terrorist (call them what you will) have commited an attrocity such as Beslan, to make sure the UK 's niave Joe Public stays chilled out and comfortoble in the knowledge that islam is a "religion of peace" and that the terrorists have distorted the teachings of the koran. But as many , including Mr.Spencer, will tell you, there are many pages of the Koran instructing muslims to wage jihad(holy war) on infidels , kill them, deceive them (a practice which most muslims engage in called taqiyya), and spread islam amongst them (in other words convert or kill) with the objective of an world ruled by islamic law.

I'm glad you have come to this site, if you feel helpless in the face of this massive threat, note that you are not helpless.

I personally have never come across anti american vitriol of this type. I have family who died in ww2, Vietnam etc so I, personaly am aware of the USA's contribution to my personal freedom. Many of our common and civil laws were adopted from British law, and what language do we speak. Sure we had some differences with the Brits a couple hundred years ago but that's old history today. WE are much more alike than we are different and our two countries share many of the same social and political problems. I detect the same frustrations from their comments that I see in my own countrymens comments. They want solutions to the threats to their culture just as we do. We were allies in previous wars and we're allies in this one. And I have no doubts they will stand shoulder to shoulder with us for as long as it takes to be victorious in this war. How to Make America an Islamic Nation

Congress just passed a bill declaring the consumption of alcohol a felony, punishable by up to 120 days in jail. Although critics said the new law wouldn't work anymore than Prohibition did in the 1920's, supporters of the measure felt confident that it would hold, given the large support from the Muslim America community. Even now, many Islamic organizations are setting up alcohol treatment centers and prevention programs designed to help people kick the dangerous habit. The president, a staunch supporter of moral values, is expected to sign the new bill into law when reaches his desk.

Sound like fiction? It may be fiction now, but the future is like a book of blank, white pages; anything can happen. When I accepted Islam and surrendered my heart to Allah's will, I didn't do it for economic or social reasons. In fact, I suffered in those two areas because of my conversion. Rather, it was a choice on my part to reform my soul, my mind and my understanding of why I was alive and why I would die one day.

I didn't think about living in some town for a few years and making my fortune so my kids could go to Ivy league schools. I wasn't thinking about how to get all my relative a green card nor was I planning to leave and go back home to some far land after my bank account was full enough.

I was born and raised here. This is my land. I'll raise my children here, Insha'allah and probably be buried here as well. I knew that by accepting Islam I was declaring that America needed to do so too. America, my home, would naturally become an Islamic country one day. There is no other way to think if you are a truly conscientious believer in Allah.

In past columns, I have raised complaints or alarm bells at the state of some segment of the Muslim community. Now I'm going to offer three suggestions for how we can turn the situation around and become the dominant social and cultural force in a country that needs Islam more than another pop-star, beer-brand or psychic network.

First, we must be reminded of a simple truth: if you believe in Allah, then you must be more than just a praying Muslim; more than just a fasting Muslim. A Christian can go to the masjid and pray side-by-side with us all he wants; a Jew can fast in Ramadan for forty years, but if such a person doesn't surrender their will to Allah, then all those activities won't mean much. Belief in Allah is what makes those actions have merit on Judgment Day.

In the same way, why should we see a praying and fasting Muslim and automatically assume he or she is a true believer? The blessed Prophet once observed that many are the people who fast but who get nothing from it but hunger and thirst. In a similar vein, Allah said that people who pray for show are those who deny the deen. The intention, the belief, that's what makes our Islam real. That's what builds a foundation for the future of our community here.

Secondly, what's more important than what people see us doing in the masjid, is what they see us doing outside in the society. If people view us as foreigners, it's not because everybody is an evil racist. It's because sometimes we're presenting ourselves that way. We have to look at ourselves with a critical eye!

As a quick note, lest multitudes write and complain: The vast majority of Muslims here have chosen to live in non-Muslim neighborhoods; have chosen to live far from the masjid, have chosen to turn their children into neo-kuffar by letting them be indoctrinated by the public school system and have chosen to have non-Muslims as the primary people they come into contact with. If you choose not to actively practice Islam in your daily life, if you choose not to build and Islamic community, then don't display yourself as an ethnic model and say this is what a Muslim should be.

This leads me to the third factor which will help our faith prosper and grow here. The essential, unifying force we must have is a solid, homogenous community. We must live together. All those people who cry about ghettoizing ourselves need to wake up. Why do the Orthodox Jews live together? Why do the Amish live together? Why do the Mormons, the Sikhs, the survivalists and the Koreans live together? Quite simply, to preserve the unique way of life from the scrourge of assimilation. Are they ghettoized? No. Are they poor? No. Their communities tend to be healthier, safer and more prosperous than the general melting pot.

How many Muslims have been lost to Islam in the last fifty years here? Tens of thousands have been lost. The only reason Islam is still growing here, by large, is because of a steady stream of immigration. But when that dries up, the assimilation will dwindle our community down to nothing. It's like we have a bucket with a hole in the bottom. We keep pouring new immigrants in, but so many are leaking out are lost forever. (And we're hardly making concerted or intelligent efforts at bringing others to the faith.) I used to have contact with a unique community in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. It was originally settled by Yemeni immigrants about ten years ago. Those Muslims could have gone the way of others and lost their Iman. But as you'll see, something quite different occurred.

I still remember my first visit to the area fondly. I was attending a meeting of the newly-formed local ICNA group and had never been exposed to the place before. What I saw amazed me. I was elated, in fact! Children were saying salaams to me on the street and women (in hijab) were walking around and going places leisurely and confidently. I saw Muslims who were Arab, Black and Bengali. But what took the cake for me was when out of nowhere I heard the adhan outdoors over a loudspeaker. They fought the city council and won the right to do adhan five times a day in the community!

Something clicked in the minds of these people. The Yemenis formed a master plan and determined to stay together. They set up a fund and slowly bought one house after another, moving Muslim families in and drug-infested kafirs out, until they literally had thousands of Muslims businesses and stores in the heart of the community and bought a huge Catholic church and made it into a beautiful masjid. They even made a small community health care center!

When we were leaving our meeting and walking to the masjid for salat, it was the most beautiful sight: from all directions, men, women and children, of all races, were going to their masjid as a community. I've never been to Muslim country before, but I'll tell you this much, I felt as if I were in an Islamic country. And this wasn't Egypt or India or Turkey. It was right here - in America.

Rape: the debate we have to have

The New South Wales Director of Public Prosecutions, Nicholas Cowdrey, QC, said on the ABC TV's The 7.30 Report last week that race had to be considered as a factor in the recent gang rapes of young women in Sydney's western suburbs. Later in the program he said he believed male gang culture was the cause of the crime.

Politicians, media commentators and thousands of callers to Sydney talkback radio programs have referred to the rapes as "racially" motivated. The word race is often used when what is meant is culture or religion.

What the NSW Supreme Court has been told is that seven teenage girls, all of whom were non-Muslim Anglo-Australians, were subject to hours of frightening and demeaning sexual attacks by a group of young men, all of whom were Muslim Lebanese-Australians. The court also heard that during the assaults the young men identified themselves as Muslim or Lebanese, and made it clear the girls were being targeted because they were "Aussie pigs" or "sluts". According to media reports, the mother of one of the accused men made a spitting noise at one of the victims in the court.

Racially motivated rape, the intention of which is to defile the women of the enemy, is as old as warfare, but it is devastating to think this could be happening in Australia today.

Nicholas Cowdrey is right in blaming gang culture for these crimes, and you could add to that low socio-economic status, unemployment, frustration and alienation.

Yet the fact remains that someone has taught each of these young rapists that white, non-Muslim Australian women are to be despised.

The Lebanese-Christian who owns the fruit shop I go to does not think Australian women are sluts. The few Muslim-Australians I know well enough to think of as friends do not, I am fairly sure, believe this either. But as one who is subjected to self-righteous lectures from Muslim women - educated, well-off Muslim women - whenever I write about the human rights abuses of women in the name of Islam, it is possible for me to conclude that if they do not believe we are immoral, they do think we are less virtuous than they are.

It is you (non-Muslim women) who are oppressed because you are slaves to fashion and because you expose your bodies, while we, in our modest dresses and with our heads covered, are protected from "men's glances", they write.

The decadence and materialism of Western society is frequently pointed out, as is the prevalence of sexual violence here compared with Muslim countries. (I can imagine there would not be many reports of rape in countries where four male witnesses are needed to prove the rape happened, and where if rape cannot be proved the complainant is punished for adultery).

But a letter in The Sunday Age last week makes me wonder just how deep the divide is between secular Australian culture and some Muslims' beliefs.

Dr Amirudin Ahamed, writing about the alleged incompatibility between feminism and the family, states that Islam assigns a single leader to the family - "usually the husband", who needs to "ensure discipline by following a hierarchy of steps" outlined in a verse of the Koran.

The verse to which he refers says in part: "As for those (women) from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them."

The principle contained in this verse is odious enough. If Ahamed is talking about its practice, he should know that under Australian law, beating women is a crime. And while some socially conservative Christians might half agree with him about women's more submissive role, under Australian law women and men are equal - whether he likes it or not.

The vast majority of Muslims - including Lebanese Muslims - who are decent and law-abiding should not be smeared by the behaviour of the Sydney gang rapists. But those parents and community leaders who have taught their children that the dominant society is contaminating, that because young women might drink alcohol or dress in tight-fitting clothes they are undeserving of respect, have much to answer for.

It is attitudes like these that build up resentments and prejudice in the wider society. And it is this built-up prejudice and resentment that allows the Federal Government to get away with the repressive and inhumane asylum-seeker policies that shame us all.

Since September 11, Muslim women have been abused and had their headscarves torn off in the street. This, like rape, is based on the idea that it is acceptable to project whatever hatred you might be feeling on to the bodies of women.

Prejudice against Muslims is now apparently so bad that in a survey taken in Sydney and released last week, more than 50 per cent of respondents said they would be concerned if a close relative married a Muslim. And judging by the common practice of Lebanese-born Muslim men going back to Lebanon to get a bride, bigotry is not confined to Anglo-Australians.

Do we need to talk about this? The media have been accused of breeding hatred by identifying the ethnicity and religion of the rapists. But the rapists themselves identified these as the motivating factor. In such a serious circumstance the media would not be fulfilling their purpose if they covered up this fact for fear of offending some communities.

A country that locks up children is not the kind of Australia I recognise. A country in which fear of the "other" is as prevalent as now is not the Australia I recognise either.

I want to live in a tolerant, multicultural society. But for it to work, multiculturalism requires the goodwill not only of the dominant culture but of all cultures. Tolerance of difference is a two-way street.

The building and repair of Churches
It is narrated in Baihaqi that the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said: "Do not participate in building their churches" hence people take this to say we can limit the number of churches they can build and they can maintain the old ones. The strongest opinion is that they can maintain old churches but not build new ones. We can allow them to construct or repair churches but the Muslims will not sell them stones to do so. What they do on their own land however will generally be allowed.

Imam Malik wanted them to finish slowly without harming them (by restricting the growth of Churches) so that they become Muslims or die out.

Distinction of the Zimmi
The Zimmi must be distinguished by certain signs to know that they are citizens but not Muslims. It is narrated in a Hadith that the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said "Allah (swt) distinguished you from non Muslims, do not look like them or let them look like you".

The distinction is a matter of flexibility for the Khalifah, in the Awami era it was a special belt, in the Abassid era it was an arm band and in the Othmani era it was a blue turban (with a red turban for the Muslims). Nowadays the way they are distinguished from us could be by ID cards or through finger prints or we could issue scarves and a khimar to Kufaar that are a certain colour.

I've just read thru the article "An American in London", and i have to tell you I am absolutely F****** livid!!!!!!!!

The comments other posters have made about the anti-American strategy of the bbc and other British media is sadly completely true. The bbc have raised this to near hysterical levels, I watched in amazement during a report on the US space probe that didn't land according to plan, and the reporter was grinning and beaming all over his stupid face at the thought that it had been a failure.

NO regret at all for the useful scientific information that might have been lost, oh no, just a childish malevolent joy that here was something that would embarrass Americans.

On the same note, another reporter covering one of the hurricane stories tried her best to criticise the local US authorities as lacking in a proper disaster response, and hammered home the point that the state (?) governor was related to George Bush!

I still remember my first visit to the area fondly. I was attending a meeting of the newly-formed local ICNA group and had never been exposed to the place before. What I saw amazed me. I was elated, in fact! Children were saying salaams to me on the street and women (in hijab) were walking around and going places leisurely and confidently. I saw Muslims who were Arab, Black and Bengali. But what took the cake for me was when out of nowhere I heard the adhan outdoors over a loudspeaker. They fought the city council and won the right to do adhan five times a day in the community!

Something clicked in the minds of these people. The Yemenis formed a master plan and determined to stay together. They set up a fund and slowly bought one house after another, moving Muslim families in and drug-infested kafirs out, until they literally had thousands of Muslims businesses and stores in the heart of the community and bought a huge Catholic church and made it into a beautiful masjid. They even made a small community health care center!

What the NSW Supreme Court has been told is that seven teenage girls, all of whom were non-Muslim Anglo-Australians, were subject to hours of frightening and demeaning sexual attacks by a group of young men, all of whom were Muslim Lebanese-Australians. The court also heard that during the assaults the young men identified themselves as Muslim or Lebanese, and made it clear the girls were being targeted because they were "Aussie pigs" or "sluts". According to media reports, the mother of one of the accused men made a spitting noise at one of the victims in the court.
Racially motivated rape, the intention of which is to defile the women of the enemy, is as old as warfare, but it is devastating to think this could be happening in Australia today.

Yet the fact remains that someone has taught each of these young rapists that white, non-Muslim Australian women are to be despised.
Since September 11, Muslim women have been abused and had their headscarves torn off in the street. This, like rape, is based on the idea that it is acceptable to project whatever hatred you might be feeling on to the bodies of women.

Do we need to talk about this? The media have been accused of breeding hatred by identifying the ethnicity and religion of the rapists. But the rapists themselves identified these as the motivating factor. In such a serious circumstance the media would not be fulfilling their purpose if they covered up this fact for fear of offending some communities.

Heavily armed Israeli soldiers shooting at innocent Palestinian children caught in the crossfire. That is the image that has dominated international press coverage of the five-week-old wave of violence that has wracked the Middle East, during which, according to some accounts, over 40 Palestinian children have died.

With each new report of youthful casualties, the perception of something unthinkable -- that Israeli soldiers are targeting children -- is reinforced in media coverage, a great deal of which tends to favor the perceived underdog in the clashes, namely the Palestinians.

The reality is indeed unthinkable, but not in the way so neatly portrayed by sound-bite media accounts of Palestinian children being shot by Israeli soldiers. Indeed, powerful and secret forces are at work in Palestinian nurseries, preschools, entertainment venues, classrooms and summer camps - forces that shape the current and future battles between Palestinians and Israelis, indeed, make them all but inevitable. However, up until recently, this amazing story has for the most part been hidden from Western eyes.

Palestinian children are taught to hate Jews, to glorify "jihad" (holy war), violence, death and child martyrdom almost from birth, as an essential part of their culture and destiny.

As captured on an Israeli video documentary produced in 1998, a "Sesame Street"-like children's program called the "Children's Club" -- complete with puppet shows, songs, Mickey Mouse and other characters -- focused on inculcating intense hatred of Jews and a passion for engaging in and celebrating violence against them in a perpetual "jihad" until the day the Israeli flags come down from above "Palestinian land" and the Palestinian flag is raised.

In one song on the "Children's Club," very young children are shown singing songs about wanting to become "suicide warriors" and to take up "a machine gun" to direct "violence, anger, anger, anger" against Israelis.

During the show, which features children aged 4-10, one young boy sings, "When I wander into Jerusalem, I will become a suicide bomber." Afterward, other children stand to call for "Jihad! Holy war to the end against the Zionist enemy."

In another segment, a boy who appears to be no more than 8 or 9 years old chants: "My patience has run out. All Arab existence cries for revenge" against the Jews in Israel.

The documentary also juxtaposes the children's programming with television news reporting, in which the news anchor - reflecting the same message the children are receiving -describes Palestinians as "noble, courageous" fighters, while describing Israel as "mean, fascist, racist, genocidal" and "Nazis."

Other "highlights" of the "Children's Club":

In Palestinian school classrooms, the message is the same.

"It's very scary - it's a state-run educational system that teaches its children to be martyrs," said Meyrav Wurmser, Ph.D., an expert in Middle East politics who taught at the U.S. Naval Academy and Johns Hopkins. Wurmser is the author of the recently published book, "Schools of Ba'athism," in which she makes a comprehensive survey and analysis of Syrian school textbooks. What she found is identical to what goes on with the Palestinians, she says.

"In the Palestinian case, what we see is the cynical use of children, who are exposed to a state-run ideology that pushes them to their death, in the name of Palestinian nationalism," she says. "Children are taught to idealize death, to view it as a positive. In many cases, they are told that death is not death at all, but rather the beginning of a new life."

Wurmser is currently the executive director of The Middle East Media & Research Institute, or MEMRI, and has published extensively on the Middle East and Arab and Israeli politics.

How can children be sold on dying in battle?

"The state threatens children if they're not willing to commit jihad," says Wurmser, "and tells them they will be punished by God if they do not commit jihad. If they do commit jihad, they and their families will be benefited by the state. [Their families] are promised major financial benefits if they kill themselves in suicide attacks against Israel."

To get over the fear, explained Wurmser, "they are told by their teachers that they're not going to die at all. There is definitely an element of denial they are exposed to."

This is not to say that some parents won't object to having their children converted to terrorists, says Wurmser, "but in the more religious families, there is no sense of sorrow. We see Palestinian mothers who have lost children - especially parents from very fundamentalist Muslim backgrounds -- who are not upset at all, but who say their sons have brought great honor to their families." This is typical, she says, of "radical national Arab regimes who have adopted the Islamic line."

This shocking assessment was bolstered in an Oct. 27 Jerusalem Post editorial, in which writer Gerald M. Steinberg provided details of statements made by Palestinians to reporters after their children had been killed in fighting.

"Interviewed by journalists after [recent] tragedies, some of the parents of these young victims refer to their children as shaheeds (martyrs), whose lives were given willingly and proudly to the Palestinian cause in fighting the hated Zionist enemy," Steinberg said.

"In an unbelievably shocking scene, one mother boasted that she bore her son precisely for this purpose, and the father proudly claimed credit for providing the training. The parents will also receive a sizeable financial 'reward' from the Palestinian Authority," he said.

"For a people who count Abraham (or Ibrahim) among their ancestors, this willful child sacrifice violates the fundamental tenets of morality and ethics," said Steinberg. "The message of Abraham's non-sacrifice of Isaac was, and remains first and foremost, the absolute rejection of such practices."

Middle East sources consulted by WorldNetDaily said the "Children's Club" is no longer being produced, but that other programs with similar messages and themes have taken its place.

DEVOTION, DESIRE DRIVE YOUTHS TO "MARTYRDOM"

ZARQA, Jordan -- The Hotaris are preparing for a party to celebrate the killing of 21 Israelis this month by their son, a suicide bomber.
Neighbors hang pictures on their trees of Saeed Hotari holding seven sticks of dynamite. They spray-paint graffiti reading "21 and counting" on their stone walls. And they arrange flowers in the shapes of a heart and a bomb to display on their front doors.
"I am very happy and proud of what my son did and, frankly, am a bit jealous," says Hassan Hotari, 54, father of the young man who carried out the attack June 1 outside a disco in Tel Aviv.
It was Israel's worst suicide bombing in nearly four years.
"I wish I had done (the bombing). My son has fulfilled the Prophet's (Mohammed's) wishes. He has become a hero! Tell me, what more could a father ask?"
In more than a dozen interviews with former and current members of the militant group Hamas and with Israeli security officials who track them, USA TODAY was given a rare look into the secretive and terrifying world of suicide bombers and the culture that creates them.
Lured by promises of financial stability for their families, eternal martyrdom and unlimited sex in the afterlife, dozens of militant Palestinians like Hotari aspire to blow themselves up, Israeli and Palestinian officials say. Their goal: to kill or injure as many Jews as possible in the hope that Israel will withdraw from Gaza and the West Bank.
Israel captured the land in 1967. [DPS Note: Actually, their goal is the destruction of Israel. The repeated mantra that all they want is the land Israel captured from Jordan in a defensive war in 1967 is a politically correct talisman; it's just not true.]
The bombings, which have spread fear and despair among Israelis, have proved to be the deadliest weapon in the Palestinian arsenal during the current intifada, or uprising. The intifada has claimed more than 600 lives, most of them Palestinian, since September.
"Even if we can't reach the goal of an end to occupation, we are inflicting losses on the enemy," says Abdel Aziz Rantissi, a spokesman for Hamas.
The group has claimed responsibility for most of the suicide bombings.
"Israelis will have no stability and no security until the occupation ends. Suicide bombers are Israel's future."
Since 1993, nearly 190 people have been killed and thousands injured in 28 suicide bombings in Israel. Three of those bombings have occurred since March, including the Tel Aviv disco attack. A fragile Israeli-Palestinian cease-fire has held for nearly a month, but Hamas officials warn of two more bombings in the "very near future."
"When I walk outside, young (Palestinian) children come up to me and say, 'Conduct another bombing to make us happy, sheik,' " says Sheik Hasan Yosef, 45, the senior Hamas leader in the West Bank city of Ramallah. "I cannot disappoint them. They won't have to wait long."

Visions of Paradise
At any time, Israeli officials believe, Hamas has from five to 20 men, ages 18 to 23, awaiting orders to carry out suicide attacks. The group also claims to have "tens of thousands" of youths ready to follow in their footsteps. "We like to grow them," Yosef says. "From kindergarten through college."
In Hamas-run kindergartens, signs on the walls read:
"The children of the kindergarten are the shaheeds (holy martyrs) of tomorrow."
The classroom signs at Al-Najah University in the West Bank and at Gaza's Islamic University say, "Israel has nuclear bombs, we have human bombs."
At an Islamic school in Gaza City run by Hamas, 11-year-old Palestinian student Ahmed's small frame and boyish smile are deceiving. They mask a determination to kill at any cost.
"I will make my body a bomb that will blast the flesh of Zionists, the sons of pigs and monkeys," Ahmed says.
"I will tear their bodies into little pieces and cause them more pain than they will ever know."
"Allahu Akbar," his classmates shout in response: "God is great."
"May the virgins give you pleasure," his teacher yells, referring to one of the rewards awaiting martyrs in paradise.
Even the principal smiles and nods his approval.
"You don't start educating a shaheed at age 22," says Roni Shaked, a terrorism expert and former officer in Israel's Shin Bet secret service. "You start at kindergarten so by the time he's 22, he's looking for an opportunity to sacrifice his life."
Some suicide bombers, like Hotari, come to their deadly missions by a slightly different route. They turn themselves into human bombs because they are frustrated by the economic and political duress Palestinians experience in Jordan and throughout the region.
Hamas says its recruiters, most of whom Israeli officials describe as charismatic religious leaders, look for two qualities in a potential bomber: an intense interest in Islam and a clean criminal record so as not to raise the suspicions of Israel's secret service.
Saeed Hotari, who was 22, fit both of those criteria. He was "a devout Muslim who used to pray, observed fasting and performed all his religious obligations to the letter and spirit," his father says.
One of nine children, he left Zarqa, outside the Jordanian capital of Amman, for the West Bank city of Qalqilya in 1999 to seek a better life.
In Qalqilya, he and two other Palestinian youths went to a mosque where Sheik Jamel Tawil, a Hamas leader, persuaded them to attend a Hamas-run class on Islamic study. All would eventually be suicide bombers and would carry out their attacks within days of each other.
At the Hamas-run classes, recruits are reminded of Israel's "illegal occupation" of the West Bank and Gaza, its "barbaric treatment" of Palestinians and the Islamic prophet Mohammed's call for Muslims to wage war against infidels. "Kill the idolaters wherever you find them," Yosef says.
(Israeli officials say they are targeting militant leaders like Yosef for arrest or assassination).
After several weeks of schooling, the youths often volunteer to be suicide bombers, Yosef says. "If someone confiscated your land, demolished your home, built settlements to prevent you from coming back, killed your children and blocked you from going to work, wouldn't you want to fight for your country?" Yosef asks.
In return for "martyrdom," Hamas tells the youths that their families will be financially compensated, their pictures will be posted in schools and mosques, and they will earn a special place in heaven.
They also are promised something more risque: unlimited sex with 72 virgins in heaven. The Koran, the sacred book of Islam, describes the women as "beautiful like rubies, with complexions like diamonds and pearls."
In one of the passages of the Koran, it is said the martyrs and virgins shall "delight themselves, lying on green cushions and beautiful carpets."
Since the time of Mohammed, martyrs have always been considered those willing to die defending Islam.

Holy Rewards For Suffering
For some young Muslims, that offer is too much to turn down.
"I know my life is poor compared to Europe or America, but I have something awaiting me that makes all my suffering worthwhile," says Bassam Khalifi, 16, a Hamas youth leader in Gaza's Bureij refugee camp. "Most boys can't stop thinking about the virgins."
But in the end, says Shaked, the Israeli terrorism expert, most of the bombers don't sign up for martyrdom for the promise of unlimited sex. "They join because of their absolute devotion to God and their desire to die with Jewish blood on their hands," he says. "It's not a heroic thing, it's a holy thing."
A would-be bomber is selected for his mission only days, sometimes hours, before it is to occur, Israeli officials say. As part of the preparation, the recruit is taken to a cemetery, where he is told to prepare for death by lying between gravesites for hours. He wears a white, hooded shroud normally used to cover bodies for burial, a former Hamas member says.
The recruit is then taken to a safe house. A video is made in which he states his consent to become a suicide bomber and his devotion to Islam. It will be played for the public after his death. A still photograph is taken that will be reproduced and displayed through the West Bank and Gaza to honor him after death.
Because secrecy is paramount, Hamas leaders will not allow the recruit to say goodbye to his family or tell them his plans.
Meanwhile, separate Hamas groups already have selected the target, constructed the bomb that will be attached to the recruit's belt and started preparations to get him to the site, Israeli officials say.
Once at the target site, the recruit is told to remain calm, blend in as much as possible and, when surrounded by Israelis, press a switch to explode the bomb, Hamas members say. Just as Hotari's friend Mahmoud Marmash did.
On May 18, Israeli security guard Lior Kamisa saw Marmash, 21, standing in line with dozens of Israelis outside a shopping mall in the Israeli seaside city of Netanya.
"We locked eyes," Kamisa recalls. "His eyes were frozen. They showed no emotion." Realizing that Marmash looked out of place among the Israelis and was wearing an oversized blue sport jacket, Kamisa radioed for help.
It was too late. Marmash slowly unbuttoned his jacket, slipped his hand inside and pressed a switch that ignited the dynamite. The explosion killed five Israelis. Kamisa looked for Marmash but couldn't find him. "He was gone. He had turned to dust."
On June 1, it was Hotari's turn. Israeli officials, quoting eyewitnesses, say two Hamas operatives drove him to the Dolphin Disco in Tel Aviv, a popular club often packed with Russian immigrant teenagers. They said Hotari slipped unnoticed into line and positioned himself among several girls, including a 14-year-old who had survived Marmash's attack in Netanya.
Then, while flirting with one of the girls, Hotari triggered the explosives. The blast was so intense that it tore limbs from the victims' bodies, scattered their flesh up to six blocks away and vaporized Hotari and the girl next to him.
It killed 21 people, in addition to Hotari, and injured nearly 100.
Now, nearly 30 days later, his parents are preparing to mark the anniversary of his death, as devout Muslims often do.
"My prayer is that Saeed's brothers, friends and fellow Palestinians will sacrifice their lives, too," Hotari's father says.
"There is no better way to show God you love him."

I don't know whether or not the article is true, false or exadgerated, but one thing I can tell you is that it sounds completely ridiculous and far-fetched. When americans are seen in public by brits, we usually get an feeling of spooting a celebrity, as we are more used to seeing yanks on TV than locally. The woman ranting on the bus not only sounds far-fetched mbut actually more like the fantasy of a paranoid schitzophrenic.
I can't imagine an entire bus full of brits tosit there and let any elderly lady be subjected to a hail of threatening abuse such as the one described,no matter what nationality she was, even less that no-one intervened, less still that they sat laughing.

American culture is such a massive part of our lives, we watch (and most prefer) american films , as Ifeel, british films are almost tacky in comparison,
We listen to american music, we read their books, and the british public (when on buses also) have a habit of nodding to people they recognise, then remaining quiet through the remainder of the journey rather than making conversation. But if a tourist was on board, I'd imagine that most brits would be intrigued, and their politeness they show to stranger would be extended even more so to a foreign tourist.

I really don't see what the woman who wrote the article is trying to acheive, is she trying to freak out americans into believing they have no friends in the world ??? It sounds completely and utterly bizarre.

One thing I will point out though is that I am a northerner, and there is a divide between North and South, and a undertonal rivalry, but we often put our differences aside in times when unity is much needed. I do find that a lot of Londoners have attitude problems, but maybe it's just the ones I've met.
Perhaps the woman who wrote the article had taken LSD, or had accidentally walked onto a Lib-Dem convention tourbus (this small but loud minority as well as the muslims, are the only brits I can think of that have any kind of anti-american views), I really don't know, but I do know for damn certain that any Yank would be welcome in my part of Blighty (exept for John F. I dont know enough about the law in the UK to comment, but I know in Canada the 'young offender' laws are a joke, kids under 18 can pertty well commit any crime short of actual pre meditated murder and walk away with a slap on the wrist....oh and Rikki I just saw one british film that absolutly cracked me up...shaun of the dead was hilarious!
