It looks as if the movement into Fallujah has broken up a major jihad center. From AP, :
FALLUJAH, Iraq (AP) -- U.S. Marines have found beheading chambers, bomb-making factories and even one Iraqi hostage as they swept through Fallujah - turning up hard evidence of the city's role in the insurgent campaign to drive American forces from Iraq.Marines on Sunday showed off what they called a bomb-making factory, where insurgents prepared roadside explosives and car bombs that have killed hundreds of Iraqi civilians and U.S. troops.
Wires, cell phones, Motorola handheld radios and a Plastic foam box packed with C4 plastic explosives sat in the dark building down an alley, along with three balaclava-style masks reading: "There is only one god, Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger."...
So far U.S. troops have only found two hostages, one Iraqi and one Syrian. Marines last week found the Iraqi in a room with a black banner bearing the logo of one of Iraq's extremist groups. He was chained to the wall, shackled hand and foot in front of a video camera. The floor was covered with blood.
The rescued Syrian was the driver for two French journalists, Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot, missing since August. The journalists have not been found, but France maintains they are still alive.
A Marine officer said he found signs that at least one foreign hostage was beheaded in that room. The Marine, who spoke on condition of anonymity, did not give details....
When Marines uncovered the lab in a Saturday sweep, they also found Islamic Jihadist writings. A complete reading of the Koran on cassette tape lay in a box. Among the clutter where two wills, addressed to friends and family in Algeria.
"I will join my friends in heaven," the will read. "Don't cry for me. Celebrate my death."
And there is also this, now on the bridge were the American contractors were killed:

Terrorists claim US using chemical weapons; jihadis may use this false claim as pretext for launching chemical attacks of their own
Numerous Arabic language jihadi boards this morning are claiming that the US has attacked the "mujahadeen" in Fallujah with chemical weapons. The posts are extremely graphic and detailed. These postings are almost certainly disinformation, and appear to have been placed in a deliberate attempt by the jihadis to justify a planned chemical weapons attack on US troops by the terrorists.
What is most disconcerting about these postings is that most were made by individuals with long posting histories (in some cases backj to 2002), so these are not "hit and run" posters.
On at least two of the threads, the posters made explicit threats that the American people will be attacked with the same weapons.
Although it is not possible to ascertain the credibility of the individuals posting, one must certainly take into consideration the fact that several of these posters appear to be from Iraq, and profess to be Al Qaeda supporters.

the whole america-the-greedy-oil-grabber canard does not pass the reality test. oil is in a commodity market where the price is set by supply/demand tensions. opec is the only consistent manipulator of supply. the economic rise of china & india has increased demand. america has an economic and foreign policy interest to make sure that the oil industry is not hijacked by terrorists. all conspiracy theories are for the most part small-minded and without merit
The media silence surrounding this is astounding. Unless this kinda stuff gets out into the open, how will the broad mass of centrists who've fallen for the leftist line that the 'resistance' is legitimate and the US is the culprit in Iraq ever see the light?
The same zeal the media reserved for undermining post saddam US successes in Iraq had it shown in highlighting the successes, things could have easily been so much different back home. Is Bush losing the media battle then? Then there are reports of jihadis getting plenty of free pass and benefit of doubt from the very same media....have the media adopted the dhimmi response of capitulation already?

Fox News reported that steel-reinforced underground bunkers connected by tunnels crammed full of all kinds of weapons and explosives were found in Fallujah, and mosques in other places in Iraq have been discovered full of similar materials. Forces are amazed at the amounts of weapons and other materials found all over Iraq.
And I believe that the WMDs could still be buried or waiting over the hill in Syria or Lebanon! After all they had decades to create elaborate bunkers and tunnels that are just now being discovered.
Oil for Food funding as and is allegedly being used to fund the purchase of these materials. Hmmmmmm.
