I heard about Fox's "Eurabia" show a few days ago, but didn't bother to put up any notice here, as I heard that it would not feature or even mention Bat Ye'or -- who coined the term and wrote the book.
Still, anything with that title could be promising, so it was all the more curious when the thing didn't appear.
LGF has a provocative piece suggesting that pressure from CAIR caused the show to be dropped. I have this also from some other sources, but nothing is confirmed -- I'll keep you posted.
I believe the show is on tonight (Wednesday) at 7 pm eastern. A preview of the show is available at the Fox News website. It seems their defintion of Eurabia is different from Bat Ye'or's. They concentrate on the immigration part of it rather than the political alignment that Ye'or speaks of.
Eurabia was not yanked part 1 was on the FOX report last night in the last 15 minutes of the program. Last nights segment delt with illegal Muslim immigration from Morocco to Spain. The segment noted that Muslims from Morocco killed 190 people in Spain on 3/11 and Theo in the Netherlands. Promos are being run on FOX today for Part 2 of Eurabia which deals with "out of control" Muslim immigration in Sweden and the problems that it is causing.
So which is it? Was it on, or was it yanked?
If you go here, you can watch a video called "Eurabia", not sure if it is just a trailer or what. It isn't very long, nor does it say a whole lot.

I got back from a month in Europe (Sept and Oct) I could probably write a longer piece on Muslims in Europe than what Steve Harrigan has on there.
On the same page (and tab) there is a video of Steve answering questions from readers/viewers. He is on top of his hotel in Bagdad. You can hear explosions in the background. This video is more interesting than his Eurabia piece.
Fox's Eurabia report was on last night it will be on tonight with Parts 3 and Parts 4 to follow. Fox has run promos for Part 2 all day today.
Just saw the Fox piece on Eurabia part 2.
Unfortunately, there was more promotion than footage. Malmo's problems (which have been chronicled here in the past) were highlighted. The piece was about 4-5 minutes long. Oh, well. Something's better than nothing.
Slightly OT but still apropos, Jacques Chirac is making nice with Libya's Gaddafi. Seems he's not satisfied with Algerians coming to France. Now he's looking for Libyans to join the party.
Yes, 2 of 4 segments of the "Eurabia" report were aired on Fox TV in the later part of the 7pm news(eastern time) hour beginning on Tuesday.
I cannot remember the source, but I was under the impression that each of the four segments would be 15 minutes long. I have not been able to confirm this anywhere, but others at lgf appear to be under the same assumption.
Based on the commercial advertisements, I was led to believe that "Eurabia" would be a special report, but so far, each of the first two segments were aired without the expected header or fanfair. If you blink - you can easily miss the report.
The two segments that have aired have been very brief - about 2 minutes each. Two minute segments may not be much, but the message is clear. At least Steve Harrigan doesn't use PC interpretations to veil the problem (i.e. "radical islamists", "muslims" etc, are not taboo terms and are clearly identified as problems in his report).
The lgf blog on Tuesday indicated that Fox pulled the report. Since Fox actually did air short segments, and continues to advertise the last two installments, I wonder if they modified the original report length - or was the entire report split up (totalling 15 minutes)?
Even though these messages are brief - I am greatful that "EURABIA" is finally out there for the general public via prime time cable news.
If anyone sees the "Eurabia" report segments posted online, please post the links! THANKS!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!
GOD BLESS ALL OUR TROOPS AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!!
Also,go to the Fox channel website and tell America, what you are thankful for and to whom...let the left wing radicals, the socialist mainstream media know that we are all thankful to god,for living in America, the greatest place on earth.
I am living in Sweden and would like to see the program.
Can anyone give me some links?
I believe they sent a short piece from Sweden. Of course, while parts of Sweden are falling apart as we speak, Swedish women are mainly concerned with, well, not becoming mothers:
http://www.spectator.se/stambord/index.php?p=353
Journalist Anna Asker writes that the group is pushing for institutionalized tolerance and gender equality. More to the point, Agda wants the Swedish government to create a special equality affairs department and believes schoolchildren should be required to take gender equality classes. But none of the Agda grrls has kids (natch) and one of the group’s members, Julia, even says she’s “scared to death of falling into the trap [of motherhood].” Keep fighting the good fight, Julia. Full-fledged victimhood is right around the corner.

Here is the Fox link to the video for the first two parts of the Eurabia series . . .

Part I - Eurabia, The Crossing
Spain's inability to stop rising tide of illegal / immigration may open Europe up to more terror / attacks.
Part II - Eurabia, Scandanavian Strain
See why Sweden has its hands full dealing / with an explosion of Muslim immigrants
The Lgf piece was provocative and embarassing to many of us who passed it along unverified. We have since indicated that the rumor about the program being yanked was bogus. Unless, the rumor can be verified with sources close to the program producers, then why put it out on a blog like Lgf, eh? Nonetheless, as Bob said, if the program Eurabia didn't have an interview with Bat Ye'or who coined the term EUrabia, then why watch it? Watching it may have snippets like the Malmo segment last night to stoke the interest of feckless Fox viewers who are virtually ignorant of the threat of islamization leading to Eurabia and our neighbor to the north CANArabia or al-Canada as Daniel Pipes calls it. It may turn out that the program assists in promoting Bat Ye'or's new book by the same name, "Eurabia," due out early next year prior to a promo road trip here in the U.S. So as we used to say in the intel biz: "verify and then trust."
Here's an important interview with Bat Ye'or on Australian National Radio (ANR) released yesterday on Eurabia-her new upcoming book to released early next year. Her comments in response to ANR interviewer Stephen Critteden are both incisive and chilling. My thanks to Andy Bostom for drawing our attention to this ANR interview with Bat Ye'or. Her comment about the late Edward said as an islamochristian "janissary," is spot on.
Here's the ANR interview weblink.

I had imagined a much more complete piece on "Eurabia." Given the title, I was sure that Bat Ye'or would be prominantly featured, and given the promos, I thought--well, hoped--it would be a single feature-length piece. After all, there's a lot to say!
I am disappointed, but then I have to remember that for much of the viewing audience, this may well be their first exposure to the problem. I can live with the deficiencies, if it was intended as a "toe in the water" introductory piece.
If there was pressure (and surely there was) not to show it, it could just be possible that people at Fox will get their back up, and plan further material exposing the problem.
There's nothing quite like experiencing Islam on your skin to decide whether to go the dhimmi route, or the resistence route.
I never read anywhere that the Eurabia segments on FOX would be 15 min long. I don't recall ever seeing 15 min segments on The FOX report. Longer segments are shown on FOX's evening lineup of O'Reilly, Hannity, Greta ect.FOX heavily promoted the four part series last week and the first two segments were promoted all day Tues and Wed. The content so far has been exactly what FOX has said it would be. It's also significant that FOX does not shy away from saying the problem is with Muslims in Europe.
