Anti-dhimmitude in the Netherlands. From AP, with thanks to Kemaste:
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - Dutch film "Stand Van De Maan," which addresses increasing Islamic radicalism in Indonesia, won the top prize at the Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival. The festival is billed as the world's largest documentary festival, with more than 200 films shown over two weeks in Amsterdam theaters.
"Stand Van De Maan (Shape of the Moon)," directed by Leonard Retel Helmrich, recorded the story of an Indonesian Christian woman who leaves Jakarta for the countryside to avoid growing unemployment and increasingly fundamentalist Islamic sentiment in the city.
O.T.
Here is a good article called "The Sleeping World Is Awakening to the Dangers of Islam"
Written by Barbara Stock

O.T. again, in the above mentioned article our own Mr. Spencer's book "Onward Muslim Soldiers" gets a mention in the blog following the article.
I have a dream: Western countries unite and ban the building of Mosques which spread like wildfire.
I have a dream: Western countries will ban all further immigration of Moslems.
I hope against hope that the practise of Islam is outlawed in all our countries and all muslims either re-educated or shipped back to the desert.
I hope against hope that it can be done without civil war, major terrorist attacks and without turning our liberal societies into total dictatorship.
Imagine!
Perhaps I am dreaming too much. Perhaps I have to much hope.
But it can't go on the way it does.
Power to the vigilantes!
This is the Dutch people's shame-faced way of very-belatedly apologizing to their recently murdered countryman, the film-maker and writer Theo Van Gogh... and just wait until his final film, now in post-production without him, sadly, -entitled: "06/05"- is released (about the ALSO murdered Rotterdam politician Pim Fortuyn, who opposed Muslim immigration into Holland and was shot in the back 2 years ago -on May 6th ("06/05" as Europeans date it)- for his intellectual honesty, historical eloquence and patriotic determination to preserve his eroding country).
The trailer for this Van Gogh movie is viewable online through any search engine.
Worth a look.
I hope it is released in the U.S.
The discussion needs to come here.
Smelling salts for the p.c. narcoleptic.
I would just like to paste for you all here a post from a message board on the following website:
http://www.muslimwakeup.com
It was written in response to an article published there about the slaughter of Theo Van Gogh. This website claims to be progressive but the comments and the tone of the article were, despite the usual disclaimers, generally celebratory of the murder and, as usual, put all the blame on Van Gogh, and as usual, pompously, and arrogantly, lectured Holland on how it should "take a long look at itself"
So nothing unusual there. But along came a Dutchman who blew them all away with this exquisite post. I reproduce it, with apologies to him, for your delectation. Needless to say, the "progressive" Muslims didnt have a thing to say in reply.

How absurd for a Muslim to be comparing his billion-plus global community to the several million in number (and otherwise contemptible)Jews (i.e.- the flawed "Kristallnacht" analogy) and equally ridiculous to be comparing the outraged reaction of the tolerant-to-a-fault Dutch to the utterly intolerant (and anti-Semitic) Nazis because a few pissed-off Holland fools set fires to empty "Muslim" buildings after one of their prominent people (with a very famous name) is publically slaughtered by an Islamic fanatic. Don't forget, the Arab world was an ally of the Nazis in WW II, and many Muslims cheer the murder of 'infidels' daily. The film "Submission" is a poignant plea for women to be treated decently by the patriarchally-poisoned minds of the broadly repressive Muslim community. What the non-Muslim world hears -over and over- is: "We -the followers of Mohammed- will kill anyone who disagrees with us." And this message will eventually require an answer from those who do not agree with such theocratic tyranny over the mind of Man (or Woman). From those who have learned that the fallible human mind needs a sense of humor about itself when it dares to proclaim anything as dangerous as Absolute Truth. Since we are imperfect, at best, we usually end up creating hell on Earth whenever we speak for God. (There's some kind of Law of human Nature here.) And nothing humans say in their "Holy" Books, not the Koran, the Baghavad Gita, the Torah, or the New Testament, is anything but a flawed human understanding groping with the Cosmic Mystery, at best. Until the Muslim world gains that essentially humility in the face of its own intrinsically human epistemological flaw, the clash of cultures- secular versus theocratic- MUST continue. You have no sense of humor, except for 'schadefreude', and it will be the doom of your vision of the Universe. "He who cannot laugh at himself must try to make the world cry." The world prefers joy. Hope the film's director has up to date life insurance.
Susan-
Hate to reiterate it, but:
The film's director's already dead.
(Life insurance is a bit hard to come by once you've been ritually sacrificed on an Amsterdam street to appease the seething circle-jerk of the hadith-intoxicated mosque-quitos who inspired T. Van Gogh's murderer.)
One of the few (Berlitz) phrases I know in Arabic seems grimly apropos:
"Wey'en il-a'haim?"
("Where is the butchershop?")
Everywhere, it seems.
And what is the first line of the Koran
(in its pre-p.c. corrected translation):
"This book is not to be doubted."
I doubt it.
Profitsbeard:
Doubtless Susan's reference was to "Stand Van De Maan's," director Leonard Retel Helmrich, not poor Theo Van Gogh.

"Doubtless Susan..."
Probably right.
Just reading down the comments too linearly.
Thanks.
Here's an worthwhile link to get some insight into how the 'Muslim youth' in Holland are reacting to the Moroccan-Dutch murderer of Theo Van Gogh (scroll down to the bottom for the last English block of text for that specifically.)

Van Gogh's columns quoted make me miss him even more.
