Dutch find the strength to take on their 'new Nazis'

The assassination of Theo van Gogh, the Dutch film-maker whose funeral took place yesterday, is something new in Europe. There are, of course, antecedents. Fifteen years have passed since Ayatollah Khomeini issued his fatwa against Salman Rushdie: the first shot in the culture war between fundamentalist Islam and the West. But there is no precedent for the ritual slaughter of a prominent artist in broad daylight on the streets of Amsterdam. For the Dutch, this murder is not only sinister: it is symbolic. Van Gogh - distantly related to Holland's most celebrated artist - was shot on his bicycle, another national emblem. As he writhed on the ground, the murderer cut his throat without mercy and left him with two knives protruding from his body: a method that is apparently common in North Africa, but unheard of here. Just in case there was any doubt about the symbolism of this butchery, a note was found pinned to his chest, containing death threats against three other public figures....
Now, with the manifestation of a violent form of intolerance in their midst, the iron has entered their souls. After decades of welcoming immigration and preaching multiculturalism, they now propose to expel failed asylum-seekers and to assimilate those who settle, rather than permit de facto religious segregation. If neo-conservatives are liberals who have been mugged by reality, the Dutch are fast becoming a nation of neo-conservatives.

While the Arab-European League accused the Dutch immigration minister of giving a "Hitler speech" at a rally in protest at van Gogh's murder, the Dutch know who the real Hitlers are. Even the most liberal society is illiberal when it is a question of survival. The Dutch see those who dream of Europe under a revived caliphate as a threat to their way of life. The prospect of Islamist imams imposing sharia law on Dutch cities amounts, they feel, to a new Nazi occupation.

Unlike his great, great, great uncle Vincent, Theo van Gogh was not a genius. Was he really an artist at all? But van Gogh's murder has proved him right about the hardline Islamists. Their ideology is inimical to all that the Dutch hold dear. Last night, as van Gogh's cremation was seen on television, the tension was palpable. Holland is now the crucible of Europe. Not even the most tolerant people on earth can tolerate the Islamists.

A mosque, I mean an armory was blown to bits in Fallujah this morning.......And of course, there were weapons being stored inside......

Holland has the right to deport all of these cockroaches, despite what names the Arab-Eurpoean league call the Dutch Government.

This is insane. It's impossible to tolerate the intolerable.

Three Dutch police officers were wounded, two seriously, by a hand grenade that was tossed at them by the besieged jihadis.

These jihadis are not criminals, they are in the vanguard of an Islamic guerilla military force that has declared perpetual war on the non-Muslim world. The brutal occupation of the Nazis is still within living memory of the Dutch, who unlike the French, did not collaborate and the Dutch therefore sufferred the bitter consequences of their defiance. Now they see the Muslim community for what it is, and have asked themselves, "if it looks like a goose, quacks like a goose, ...",

The article states that even the most tolerant people on earth can't tolerate this. But they have been for years! Go and look up the sharp rise in antisemitsm in Europe over the past ten years. When it was just Jews being attacked, it was no big deal. I just hope that they didn't wait until too late to start fighting back.

What a difference between the tough armed response in Holland and the total appeasement in neighboring Belgium where the govt has just BANNED the one political party (Flemish Vlams Blok) that called for tighter immigration controls and kicking out islamic troublemakers.

The contrast couldn't be starker.

The Flemish are setting up a new replacement party and I wouldn't be surprised if many French speakers vote for it as a protest.

arafat wont be put into the ground until his wife (I swear she is the fat guy from the "hes a lady" show) can figure out where all the cash he skimmed over the years is hidden or somehow beat the account numbers out of him. I am guessing that he probably has the money in foreign accounts in some western style country where it may be law that once you are dead the account gets frozen until the estate is settled...I am sure that he-she isnt taking any chances...as long as his smelly body has blood and air being atrificialy pushed through it his money is still waiting for her.

Libbysmom's post put me in mind of the famous WW II quote about not being bothered when the Nazis first came for the Jews, for the commentator wasn't a Jew, then not worrying when the Nazis came for the Catholics, as the commentator wasn't Catholic either, and then the Nazis finally came for the Protestants, but there was no one left to come to the aid of the Protestants.

So, it's an interesting turn of events, then... ...the failure by European citzenry, scarcely 60 years later, to see where the trend was going. First the pro-Palestinian historic revisionism and propaganda machine gets going and people can no longer view the events in the Middle East in context. Consequently, it became fair game to blame the Jews/Israel 100% for all the misery in the entire region, not just for bona fide refugees, who have been as much if not more the victims of their own corrupt and controlling leaders.

Now,we see whose fault it is when someone who dares to expose the myscogeny that is inherent in Islam is murdered for having done so, and guess what -- it isn't the murderer, or the people who groomed him to become one.

I have never been one that advocates violence, but I have always been a firm believer in self-defense and freedom. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. I have family members buried in the Netherlands because they believed that the Dutch people deserved freedom from the Nazis and their oppression. I believe the Dutch people deserve freedom from the Islamo-fascists and their oppression.

Isn't it so typical that the Muslims play the victim in all of this and the media painst the Dutch as intolerant bigots.
I have no tolerance for the intolerant that want to force their dictatoral tenets on people,the Dutch have my permission to resist the foreign invader occupying their land for the sake of
future domination by Sharia law and the Quran.
In Canada muslims are demanding Sharia law for themselves and the Government is gutlessly on the verge of allowing it. The militant vocal masses of Muslims appear to be using psychological terror which inflicts a fear of denying Muslims their demands. These tactics seem to be used in Holland by Islamists to supress the protests from other Muslims,sadly this makes Islam look pretty shallow when it comes to human rights and protecting the innocent.
Muslims would rather stay mute and survive than
fight the Islamists and risk death for defending Holland,this Islamic patriot act only allows other Muslims to murder more non-Muslims and
see the silence as consent to kill mor people.
