November 19 (Compass) -- An Egyptian Christian jailed without charges for 19 months has become emotionally disturbed and lost vision in one eye from torture and lack of medical treatment, his widowed mother declared last week.Hany Samir Tawfik, 28, has been continuously jailed since March 2003. After being deported back to Egypt from Saudi Arabia on June 15, 2002, he was arrested at the Cairo international airport upon his return and detained for 52 days. Tawfik was then re-arrested by police seven months later because he refused their demands to spy on an evangelical Christian pastor, Tawfik’s family and church sources said.

The Times 29.11.2010 A British muslim, denounced by an anonymous colleague is being held in custody charged with possession of the Koran. The Times can reveal from sources close to the government, that the Assimilate or Return programme enacted in 2008 has successfully allowed 40,980 muslims to rejoin the Dar el Islam.

Why does the US send ANY aid to ANY country? It is done in the support of liberty for all. But why try to help those who would provoke senseless violence, torture, and feel justified in acts of mass murder?

Suddenly I have this urge to start the "Muslims are people made in the image of God too" website. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Islamisist hate is ok and that we should just lie down and roll over to become dhimmis. But likewise nor should we become our enemy to defeat them.
While I have been reading this site for a while, this is my first post. I thought your readers might appreciate reading some muslim comments too. If that's not the case, accept my apologies and I'll take my leave.
I do not think a majority of non-muslims in western countries would support a legal ban on any book or religion, particularly in North America where such a ban is impossible for good reasons. Once such precedent is set, this ban could easily be extended to every other religion. For example in Canada the gay groups are already suing, unsuccessfully for now, to ban portion of Bible that in their view advocates violence against homosexuality.
And what would happen to the old testament where it says (Leviticus 24:16) "anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD must be put to death. The entire assembly must stone him."? Could an anti-religious group with a political agenda argue that an Ortodox Jew who carries (and believes in) old testament should be prosecuted?
Of course, old Europe is a different (and unpleasent) story; but in the great land of free speech, it is neither wise nor practical to cultivate such dreams.

We have plenty of good citizens who live perfectly well without any religion and they do not even break the law!

Well, if that were the case, then why does islam allow for, or even encourage, the blowing up of God's image through homicide bombers? It seems like muslims must really hate God to blow themselves up, they being "made in the image of God" and all.
