CAIR has launched an effort to counteract anti-Muslim prejudice, which it says is widespread among Americans. They recently asked Muslims around the world to help correct misperceptions of Islam and its stance on religiously motivated terror. The Kentucky office of CAIR is conducting "sensitivity training" for FBI agents in Lexington. CAIR said 13 FBI agents, including supervisors, attended a workshop that examined "basic Islamic beliefs and concepts, common stereotypes of Islam and Muslims, and ways in which to improve interactions with the Muslim community."There is irony, though, in CAIR's efforts to counteract what they call stereotypes of Muslims. CAIR denies any ties to terrorist groups but has generated its own share of controversy and has contributed to these stereotypes by participating in conferences that feature speakers that voice racist epithets, support suicide bombers, call for the termination of the Jews, and support leaders of the Hamas terrorist group.
Since September 11, 2001, three CAIR figures have been arrested by U.S. federal authorities on terrorist-related charges. CAIR also has been criticized for its links to Hamas by various terrorist experts and scholars, including Matthew Levitt, senior fellow in terrorism studies at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Levitt testified to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Terrorism that CAIR was founded by Omar Ahmed, who co-founded the Islamic Association for Palestine, a HAMAS front organization.
Professor Abdul Hadi Palazzi of Italy has said CAIR's ties to Hamas are "evident." In February 2000 he gave a speech identifying CAIR as a Muslim Brotherhood front organization that works in the U.S. as a lobby against radio, television and print media journalists who dare to produce anything about Islam that is at variance with their fundamentalist agenda. To the utter shame of the media, CAIR has been very effective in silencing the media.
There is already enough evidence to round up all the members of CAIR to deport every one of them. I sincerely hope these 13 FBI agents are collecting additional evidence to combine it with known evidence to expedite a quick end to CAIR.

If CAIR really wants to counteract anti-Muslim prejudice, it must get Muslims to renounce all aspects of Islam which created anti-Muslim prejudice in the first place. I know they won't do this, because CAIR does not give one damn about cleaning up Islam. CAIR wants power, and it wants to suppress all opposition, through intimidate, laws, "hate crimes and hate speech" crap, to create dhimmitude.
You will not read or hear one item from CAIR upholding what our founders called "the Rights of Man." These apply to all persons everywhere, and their protection frees men and women from tyrannies such as Islam [re: "Beware the Universal Declaration of Human Rights," on http://www.6thcolumnagainstjihad.com/.]
Given the petition currently being circulated by Muslim intellectuals asking that the UN form a body to deal with Muslim clerks preaching hatred and violence (and naming the top three culprits), I'd like to think that CAIR will find the going very tough trying to convince people that there isn't a problem within Islam.
I say I'd "like to think" because I don't have a great deal of faith in the broader public being well-informed, or understanding the issues and getting concerned.
Yesterday, the Canada Israel Committee released the results of a poll they conducted that is very worrisome. Only 42% of the respondents knew that Israel is a democratic state and a large majority did not believe that there is both freedom of speech and religion in Israel. Only 11% agreed that the media is biased against Israel.
Recently a poster here on JW attempted to solicit such information. Hmmmmmm.
What is a "fanatical Muslum"? I've heard "radical", "extreme" and of course, the mythical "moderate".
I can't believe all the categories we need when talking about Islam. If there is no description to describe their behavior or such, a new category is simply created.

the above article and blogs read like orwell's 1984. while a movement is undermining your security and freedom, whose members are engaged in activities that help the enemy, they are also giving "sensitivity training" to the very people who are supposed to protect you. then, they campaign to get you fired if you give them a piece of your mind. quite totalitarian & anti-american

there's an old saying that goes "where there's smoke, there's fire"
I cordially invite Abdul Hamid Palazzi of Italy to come join Evangelical Protestantism. It seems he started as some kind of religious seeker, and ended up a liberal Muslim. If Islam's too much for him, there is an Abrahamic theism that:
(1) Believes in graciousness.
(2) Sees the Bible's ambiguous view of political power as "fundamental"--and pioneered systems of limited, republican government in the West.
(3) Sticks to its guns, but insists on making its point by argument rather than bombs.
(4) Has, in recent decades, become more genuinely international, interracial, and cross-cultural than any other.
(5) And it's also true (guess my flag's showing).
