The heroic lady
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one of the greatest and most courageous defenders of human rights on the planet today. From Expatica, with thanks to TH:
AMSTERDAM — Dutch MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali is working on a follow-up project to "Submission", the controversial film made with murdered filmmaker Theo van Gogh.Hirsi Ali said the theme for Submission - Part II will be how the Islamic faith oppresses individuals, with a focus on the position of women. She also said that she wants to abolish or phase out Islamic education, rather than "burn it down" immediately.
But Hirsi Ali said she is also writing a book called "Shortcut to Enlightenment", asserting that she hopes to point out a short cut for Muslims to gain enlightenment, evening newspaper NRC Handelsblad reported Monday.
And where is Hirsi Ali's picture?
Dear Hugh:
For you, Mr. Vice President, the Spiro Agnew of Jihad Watch, anything.
Best
RS
She is a great, great woman. I have been specifically following the Theo Van Gogh aftermath in the liberal media and blogs, and one thing that struck me was the invective and suspicion thrown at this lady. I went to the blog of a 'progressive' Muslim lady, a great lover of literature, who basically parroted the line that Hirsi Ali is a deliberate, attention seeking bigot.
(The killing was terrible, but oh lets not forget he was a racist blah blah blah...you know the jive)
What annoys me the most is that these are the people who claim to believe in the rights of women, who should be horrified at the abuse Ali suffered, at the disgusting violation of human rights of women that she screams against, and does she have their support? Does she hell. It is a chapter in the history of the left that displays their moral turpitude and increasing turn to extremism. Anything, it seems, will be excused by the left in the name of Islam.
I understand that She is an ex-muslim. Wanted to know if she has converted to Christianity, or is non-religious?
Thanks
I had seen her picture before, she is quite attractive. It is an excellent thing that she is a Black woman. I would love to see a leftist accuse her of "racism" against Muslims. :)
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one of the greatest and most courageous defenders of human rights on the planet today.
She most certainly is.
And do you think you can find her name in Amnesty International or Amnesty International USA's database? How about Theo van Gogh?
No and no again.
Here's one of the world's premier human rights defenders and there's no mention of her?!
"Ayaan Hirsi Ali is one of the greatest and most courageous defenders of human rights on the planet today...
Make that "ever in history."
"And do you think you can find her name in Amnesty International or Amnesty International USA's database?
Nope. They're too busy whining about Israel and (verbally) fellating Arafat and Eddie Said.
Could we please have that link to the film "Submission" again? I saved it to my c-drive, but a lot of us may not have seen it yet... actually, it would be good to post the link at the home page, or at least every time you mention Van Gogh or the beautiful, courageous Ms. Ali.
Yeah, she *must* be a racist, just like Bill Cosby.
Any way to contact her? We should,- just to voice our support. And yes: "Submission" should be on the net for everyone to see at any time.
Also we should give our support to Oriana Fallaci who has contributed in many ways to expose this barbarian cult!
I believe you can find "Submission" here:

The bravest person in Holland. I hope her adopted countrymen and women appreciate her example.
And let's hope her bodyguards are not infiltrated the way the Dutch security system was, since their secret service's documents -on the surveillance of people trying to attack Van Gogh (their defense of him was not a spectacular success)- were found in the apartment of one of the fantacial Muslim terrorist cellmembers whom Theo Van G.'s murderer was involved with. There was a mole in the Dutch security apparatus... a Muslim trasnslator...(surprise, surprise) who leaked the material to the maniacs so they could track Theo Van G. and avoid the police more effectively.
Hirsi Ali's true bravery makes the jellyfish-spined American and EU 'feminist' versions of 'courage' shamefully empty, especially compounded by their deafening silence on the threats against this valiant woman.
She reminds me of La Passionata in the Spanish Civil War who said:
"It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees."
I would prefer to "live on my feet", and have someone else do the dying in this case, but the sense of invincible valor is what counts.
I'd nominate Hirsi Ali for the Nobel Peace Prize, except that the damned thing went to Yassir Arafat one year. (What's the Swedish word for "braindead"?)
Let's see her, at least, as Time Magazine's PERSON OF THE YEAR- and watch the issued be banned in every Muslim country on Earth.
Salaam.

Hirsi Ali is non-religious i.e. doesn't believe in god and all that rubbish, the same as van Gogh and a very large proportion of the Dutch.
For more pictures, just Google "Ayaan Hirsi Ali" and select images from the google menu....
Check out the first and third pics....you'll probably find some cool reading material from the sites you enter....
profitsbeard
Hirsi Ali is very brave and intelligent etc. etc. but many other Dutch people are just as brave and have paid the price e.g. van Gogh. Also don't forget that Holland gave Hirsi Ali the chance to have a university education and she was able to develop her stance on islam in a largely non-religious and tolerant country unlike Somalia and unlike Saudi Arabia which she passed through en route to the Netherlands.
The Swedish word for brain dead is hjärndöd.
Hahaha! Thanks guys.
How about a petition like this: We want Sharia law in Europe for all Islamic lunatics who break the law!.
In the case of Van Goghs killer a public behaeding (somewhere around the "pimmel") in Amsterdam; and all the imams of Europe invited to witness this special event.
Of course we could continue this with flogging for inciting violence, cutting off limbs for stealing etc... Just give them some of their own medicine, that might work...
Here is a very intersting article on her:

I admire her achievements and frankness.
I pray for her continued safety, well being and that she keeps a loaded firearm (one in the chamber) at all times. She must see her plans to fruition.
Yes, what a fantastic lady. I wish her all the best and that she stays safe. She's a much needed voice of sanity in this crazy world that Islam is dragging us down into. And she's a good example of the dangers of Islam - she's expressing her right to free speech, and Islam wants to silence her. This is an example of the real Islam. Not the airy-fairy 'Islam is Peace' rubbish that keeps getting bandied about so often to the point that far too many people believe it.
Quite attractive? She's drop dead gorgeous. I'd kill for cheekbones like that!
Every Moslem woman could be, to a greater or lesser degree, be a woman like Ayaan Hirsi ali if given the chance. Most Moslem women are tortured from birth and turned into monsters who raise little monsters to continue the tragedy of Islam. Ms. Ali is no different from any woman, all of whom have a right to be free in mind, body, and spirit; but Moslem women don't have Ms. Ali's chance to live even as well as she does:under constant threat by Moslems, and under the blanket of hatred woven by the Left that covers her over and cloaks her as a Right-wing racist. We might well see on this site the death of Ms. Ali. We see the deaths of others like her too often, though thsoe we read about here are the peasant versions of Ms. Ali, like that girl hanged for making out with her boyfriend. And every day, everywhere in the moslem world girls are mutilated, women are beaten, tortured, raped, and murdered. We focus on Ms. Ali because she is an exemplar of what a woman can be when free of Islam. All women have that right, but no one in the madness of Islam will let women go from their clutches without a fight. And sadly true, the robts of islam like Reza and this fool Nisan are perpetuating the same violence and hatred against women that they were raised in. It's not men, as it turns out, who resist campaings to stop mutliating little girls: it's women. Women, like men in other areas, have to be freed by force, against their wills, regardless of the philobarbarism that prevails in the West, the sentimentalization fof the "Nobel Savage," which was a great idea in 1500 when Montaign came up with it but that is definitly an evil concept at this stage of Human developement.
All Moslem girls have every right to grow up like Ms. Ali. Many of them could do as much or more. We must then be careful when we suggest tossing out all the Moslems in the West. No, we need to save them rather than throw them to the jackals of Islam. We must stop the Islamic hell that occures in the midst of Europe, not only for the sake of Europeans, but for the sake of immigrants from Islam. The children of Islam do not deserve the lives they must live. It is immoral to allow a Moslem family to raise a child. It would be equally evil to make a Moslem child pay for the sins of her parents by expelling her from the relative safety of Europe. And that is not enough either. We must, as moral agents, stop the mutilation and murder of children in the world of Islam altogether.
We have a precedent for private armed intervention in the affairs of other nations: William Walker, much despised toeday, over-threw numerous governments and oligarchies in Latin America. His intention was to enrich himself and also to create a continent-wide slave empire to counter the force of the Unionist States of America. O.K., Boo. Bad guy. But had Walker succeeded for the long term, today most of Latin America would be The United States of America, at odds with the Union in the immediate aftermath of Walker's plots but in time as American as Alabama, the Verginias, Texas. Live in Central America for a long time before saying "I love the people and the culture" as one hears from tourists and Peacecorp volunteers too often, peoplel who have never seen four women lying in their own blood in a church, their skirts pulled up over their hips, covered with flies. Latin America suffers, and not nearly so badly as Arabia, but more that is acceptable for the reason that it is not America proper, thanks in paqrt to the failure of William Walker to incorporate it into the greater American world.
If it could happen in the mid 19th century, it can happen now. The Dutch people can surge toward the salvation of Moslems. Yes, lots of war and death and suffering. Yes, lots of pain. Some wars are not simply just: some wars are so right that not to fight is to sin beyond redemption.
Every child in the Netherlands, every child in saudi Arabia, has the right to live as a free and decent Human being. We must act to bring about the destruction of Islam. It is a moral imperative. There's no joy in war, though battle is a different story. but there is lastging joy in Just War. It is our privledge to live in this time and to have this honor, to be part of the liberation and salvation of the world's slaves of Allah. Everything we do to save even one child from Isalm is moral. No child should be condemned to Islam. We are blessed in this time. We can be giants among men, and history will look at our time as one of greatness, of the freedom of Man at last. O brave new world....
Arhopala-
Mijn vriend, ik ben dol op Nederland. And I have the greatest respect for the country and the people. My second favorite place on Earth. (Where I live, at the moment, is my first, natch.)
Smakelijke haringen met uien! Grolsche pils! Appeltart met slaagroom! Rijstafel!*
Don't tempt me!
And, more important, the freedom of thought (until November 2nd, that is).
A country that was built on Erasmus and C. Huygens and Rembrandt and Heironymus Bosch (who seems to be constantly showing us, in his art, a prescient vision of Europe under Islamic rule, should it ever come to that) deserves great honor.
Of course, Hirsi Ali would be long dead without the asylum that Holland provided her.
I hope they cherish the feisty firebrand they have preserved. And may she help rekindle the spirit that carried their mariners around the globe and their scientists to the limits of creation and their artists to the depths of the human heart.

Thanks for the Swedish translation of braindead!
I'll try it out on a Danish buddy, and see if it's close to his tongue.
Pronounced: "H(uh)-yarn'-dough-d"?
********** ************* **********
* "Tasty herring with onions. Grolsche beer. Apple turnover with whipped cream. 'Rice-table' [an Indonesian smorgasbord, to mix menu metaphors]" for the non-Dutch speaker.
(Try these out on the auto-translation site BABEL FISH for a laugh... they don't quite have the kinks out yet, and an 'apple turnover' becomes "The turnover of the apple"- which sounds more like a fruititarian revolution more than a pasty.)
