Iraqi briefed on Falluja plans missing

From CNN, with thanks to cgiddensjr:

NEAR FALLUJA, Iraq (CNN) -- A company commander of the Iraqi security forces who received a full briefing on the expected Falluja assault is missing from a military base where U.S. and Iraqi troops are preparing for the possible operation.

The captain, a Kurd with no known ties to the Sunni city of Falluja, is thought to have taken notes from the battle briefing late Thursday. U.S. Marines and his fellow Iraqi officers found no sign of him Friday morning, except for his uniform and a weapon on his cot.

Marines are concerned that the information he knows could be passed along to insurgents. U.S. military sources believe insurgents have friends in the military and government.

The captain commands a company of about 160 men. He is among 10,000 U.S. and Iraqi forces expected to take part in the operation.

Marines say the captain's disappearance won't alter the tactics or timing of the Falluja operation.

Coalition officials hope the missing captain, who was not named, has merely headed home.

Another mission compromised; but the mission WILL succeed regardless!

I think there will be much more of this type of stuff to come from the Iraqi people.

They fear Islam more than they fear the USA and they don’t seem to want real freedom from the tyranny of Mohammadanism.

I cant help but wonder if they injoyed living under Saddam?

Most of the the Iraqi people are caught in the middle; the enemy combatants include many nationals including Iraqis, fighting together under the ideology of islam.

We can tear the place apart; block by block; street by street; house by house.

Lets just get it over with!

Witness and Bar,

We certainly do need to go block by block and house by house and do whatever is necessary to get the job done. Bar is right that they fear Islam more than they fear the USA.

This is a serious problem, because the incentives of long-term freedom under a new government are much less compelling in guiding behavior than the desire for short-term safety under the threat of radical Islam.

If we are serious about getting Iraq on track we've got to clamp down hard in the short term and stop worrying about winning hearts and minds. Restore order first by whatever means are necessary and earn trust later by turning control of a stable nation over to the people.

Maybe the missing Iraqi Kurd has been kidnapped by
Zarqawi for a last butchering before Falluja is stormed? Maybe this Kurd belongs to fundamentalist
group ?? Not good news either way but Coalition should go ahead and pound the 'insurgent terrorists' into rubble. Go to it ,Boys!

After Fallujah, after the elections of January, the American forces should leave Iraq -- or leave the major centers, and no Americans, civilians or army people, should be asked to risk their lives "reconstructing" this country of people who, in the main, are completely ungrateful, or hostile, or murderously hostile. That may not be true in Kurdistan, and perhaps the Kurds can be protected by the re-imposition of what would be a kind of no-fly zone, now expanded to include no Arab military forces at all (for otherwise they will be bombed from the skies).

It is clear that there was one, and only one, important intelligence failure. It was not about WMD, because 1) it was reasonable to assume there was such weaponry, and in any case, the programs that were set to go have now been disrupted, and for a long time and 2) the Al-Qaqaa incident, and the outrage over it (outrage from the very people who now regard these explosives as a mortal threat, when the day before they had said that without finding WMD there was no justification for invading Iraq.

The invasion was justified in order to deprive Iraq not only of WMD, but of all the vast armaments of every kind, that Saddam Hussein had piled and piled and piled up, and apparently all those armaments gave him the same kind of good feeling that Scrooge McDuck used to get taking a bath in his millions. As a serious army, the Iraqi Army was not much -- but all those weapons, spread around Iraq or the Middle East, or the world, can do a lot of damage.

The policy of allowing Muslim states to buy whatever they wanted is now exposed for the folly it always was, the "huge quanttites of advanced weapons" in J. B. Kelly's phrase, that have been pouring into the Gulf, into Saudi Arabia, into Iraq, into Iran, even into the U.A.E. and Kuwait, and that are likely to be used, if used they are, against not only various neighbors, but against Infidels worldwide, as they seep from government arsenals, by means of wellwishers who are everywhere, to the assorted terrorist groups and groupuscules that we all have learned about -- so late, and not yet sufficiently well.

The Iraq venture was not a mistake -- but a certain point it can become a mistake. And that point is approaching very soon. It will not do to keep pouring men, materiel, and money into this venture. It has now cosst $200 billion. What might have been the effect, on truly bringing the threat of world-wide Jihad to its knees, by depriving it of money, had that $200 billion been spent on energy programs -- nuclear, solar, wind, cleaner coal smokestacks --and more efficient cars, and mass transit, and a hundred or a thousand other things.

Would it not be far more important to spend the next $100 billion hurting the Jihad (and along the way, perhaps preserving the world from further environmental degradation and global warming -- not something to forget about) far more effectivley than reconstructing one more Muslim country (where the hard work, and money, from the Americans will be pocketed, but without diminishing hostilty one whit -- for we remain Infidels, and they Muslims), by cutting out precisely the new element -- that OPEC oil wealth -- that began to make the Jihad, since 1973, far more of a force, through the mosques and madrasas built worldwide, and the vast Saudi-funded propaganda effort among ruling elites everywhere to become apologists for Islam, as well as encouraging European governments both to engage in a "Euro-Arab Dialogue" and to turn a blind eye to the influx of Muslim migrants who, it is clear to everyone, have even now, managed to turn every country to which they have come in significant numbers into a far more unpleasant, inhibitied, unfree, expensive, and dangerous place for the indigenous Infidels who inherited a legacy and are in danger, through the mantra of "tolerance" and "diversity," in losing everything to a primitive, cruel, manichean belief-system that prevents much of art, science, skeptical and free inquiry.

Surely that money, those men, that meteriel, and that attention should be spent helping to arouse Europeans to the threat of islamization (and that Kurd captain who may have made off with American plans to attack Fallujah is the future of European security, as Muslims rise in the military and security services, or if kept out, manage to find ways to penetrate arsenals, airports, and much else -- a constant, and growing, peril, to all Infidels wherever Muslim populations may be found. As long as the canonical texts preach Jihad, and inculcate hostlity to Infidels, and insist, on the model of Muhammad's life (sira) and acts and sayings (the hadith), and the Qur'an, that Islam must spread across the globe and non-Muslims must be reduced to the status of dhimmis (where not converted, or killed outright), there is no possible way to deal with this situation -- except to disarm Muslim states, and to prevent Muslims from migrating to, or finding a secure purchase in, the Lands of the Infidels.

This is not obvious to many. But as weeks and months pass, it will. The question remains: will enough people in enough positions of power -- in the government, in the press, in the universities -- come to realize this, before the situation gets out of hand, or not? Ask people in Holland, ask people in France, in Italy, in Spain, in Belgium, in England, in Germany. Ask them this:

If you could undo the last 30 years of Muslim migration to your country, would you do so?

There is NO ONE who would not answer YES.

How about 5-10 billion dollars a year in federal grants to homeowners to buy solar polar systems attached to the grid (so that excess energy is produced for the grid). We are very close to radically reducing the cost of solar power homeowners by merger inverter systems with the cells themselves. The industry would take off. In five years, who knows? Solar power systems could dominate the energy market for residences and businesses in many states. And US companies would have the lead on the world market.

And, as more and more of the power on the grid is produced by solar, the less we need generation plants that use fossil fuels: more oil for refineries and gasoline. More supply, lower prices at the pump.

I know less about hydrogen power, but the primary obstacles concern mass production (that does not use fossil fuels), storage, transport, and infrastructure. I don't see why we could not build a hydrogen power plant to replace one that burned fossil fuels and in the process of solving problems, learn how to do it better the next time, maybe make a few breakthroughs.

And how much would one hydrogen plant cost, built with a federal grant or subsidies?

These measures do not require a Manhattan project, just a little stimulation of the marketplace by the federal government. A few 'tugs' in the right direction, as it were.

This is why Kerry got 93 percent of the Muslim vote and why he lost the election by the rest of the voters,he preached the "group hug"
method to reach out to our enemies and work on the the root causes of hate.
Kerry would tell all the secrets to Jihadists
and merely help them slaughter more Americans, plus
based on his own admission about Vietnam he would
supress war crime and atrocities against civilians until it had value to further his cause.

I wouldn't worry too much about this missing
weasel, there is always a "Plan B " or C or D and so on,times and passwords can change for segregated units and the major plan is to let civilians get out an then help the Jihadist meet Allah to get their virgins.
This also could have been a ploy since far too much opperational information is in the media, this might be the only way to get people out of Fallujah and then seal it off to starve out the Islamists and force them to waste ammo
until it became a turkey-shoot to rid the world of this cancer that most Muslim say they want purged from Islam.

Did anyone notice that since Bush swept to power again with a major victory that hostages are now seen as liablities to Al-Qaeda and release appears as a option,Palestinians are now projecting peace and a new body of power once Arafat is confirmed dead.
Bush wasn't elected to make people like him,his first job is to protect the Nation so there will be another election to continue freedom and democracy in the USA.
Myself,I don't care what Muslims think about me,I have a faith and reading the Quran isn't on my lifelong-goal list and nor do I think Islam is the missing link in my life that will finally make me complete.
Far too many westerners convert to Islam and then go on a murder spree for Allah and inturn
only confirm the warning in the Bible that one day people will kill you believing they are doing a favour for God because of a false prophet that will come after Christ has left the Earth.

Another little observation about our very odd friends who suddenly popped into these threads yesterday or so with 'machine gun posts'.

Did anyone notice that the barrage of nonsense started just shortly after Robert mentioned in a thread that JihadWatch now gets 250,000 hits a day?

It could be a coincidence. Nonsense is prolific, you know. But the growing visibility of JihadWatch must truly irk some folks, perhaps to the point of dribble.

I stand by my prophecy. In a year JihadWatch will be enormous.

Thank you Robert and Hugh, and thank you all.

JTF~ it has been my contention all along that scum like that show up in some attempt to discredit this site and those who post here, by making themselves out to be some kind of 'expert' on this or that. As Naseem appears to have cracked since Bush won, I think that one will eventually go into full rave mode once a few good hits have been taken by his jihadist friends.

Hugh, you said "As long as the canonical texts preach Jihad, and inculcate hostlity to Infidels, and insist, on the model of Muhammad's life (sira) and acts and sayings (the hadith), and the Qur'an, that Islam must spread across the globe and non-Muslims must be reduced to the status of dhimmis (where not converted, or killed outright), there is no possible way to deal with this situation -- except to disarm Muslim states, and to prevent Muslims from migrating to, or finding a secure purchase in, the Lands of the Infidels.

This is why, when Robert becomes president, you have to take over State.

There aren't many solutions to the problem of Islam, quite simply BECAUSE their scriptures grant them the moral authority to do what they have been doing, are doing today, and will do, so long as they exist.

We can 1) wipe them out, or we can 2) educate their children to see Islam through the eyes of reason. That having been done will cause Islam to shrivel like the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz.

Bill_Carson said, "If we are serious about getting Iraq on track we've got to clamp down hard in the short term and stop worrying about winning hearts and minds. Restore order first by whatever means are necessary and earn trust later by turning control of a stable nation over to the people."

This is absolutely true, if Bill meant that we should turn a stable nation over to the people AFTER they have become a rational population, accomplished through the education of a new generation. Iraq should not be turned over to their control until the people are no longer intellectually and morally hobbled by Islam. To turn over a stable nation to the present crop would result in nothing more than another Turkey, or worse yet, another Iran.

JTF, in speaking about several ways to reach energy independence, says:

"These measures do not require a Manhattan project, just a little stimulation of the marketplace by the federal government. A few 'tugs' in the right direction, as it were."

JTF, I suspect that there are many among us today sitting in our pyjamas and cheering your post. By gaining energy independence, we could afford to leave Islamia to its own devices to stew in their own juices.

It would be much simpler than trying to get the heavy, slow-moving "Behemoth" that is the government to give the marketplace a "little stimulation." The marketplace is a marvelous entity, run by productive, creative, innovative individuals who progress only if they satisfy us, the consumers, as well as each other, also consumers.

The Behemoth need do nothing but get the hell out of the way of the marketplace and the productive, creative, innovative people that make it function.

Anyone who chooses to answer this moron, remember:

He is trying to classify what kind of Hate you suffer from. Which is an Outright LIE about YOU.

He is totally bogus. Why do you keep bothering with him? So he can make a report to post on islamic hate sites around the world?

Don't let this bastard get away with an attempt to discredit. Do not let him do what the Left will be pleased to have him do! Think!

Hugh,

I can certainly appreciate your exasperation.

I voted for George Bush because he at least was willing to fight a war in Iraq. Unfortunately, he is manifestly unwilling to fight the war in Iraq. It is time for us to admit that among ourselves. For the remainder of his term, if he has the perseverance to keep our forces in Iraq, he will continually try to prop up our Muslim “allies,” and continue to despise such natural allies as the Iraqi Christians.
Being unable to distinguish between friend and foe often fatal. But in this case, it seems to be a willful blindness. It is as if our leaders do not care who is our friend and who is our foe. They seem to say, “These men here must be our friends! And those men there must not be our friends! The truth of the matter be damned!”

However, I believe that to evacuate Iraq would have disastrous consequences. As long as we keep supporting the Muslims in Iraq, we will fail miserably at “nation building.” But as long as we occupy Iraq, we can at least hold back the jihad.

This defection will not be a serious problem to the Fallujah operation. The big hitch is that it is long over due and now being telegraphed so that Zarqawi among others can make their escape.

The first Fallujah offensive should not have been called off. That flip flop of indesision was a big boost to the insurgents. Simialar indesisive flip flopping has been down in the Al Sadr absurdity. What started out as a manhunt was reduced to a compromise legitimising a tyrannical terrorist into Iraq's political future.

Our troops will pay a price with their lives for such flip flopping foolishness on the part of the political leadership in Washington. Iran and Sudia Arabia's support for the insurgency is also costing American lives, again the Boys in Washington seem helpless to address the obvieous threat.

Maybe they want an active insugency to justify a military precence in Iraq. This may sound off the wall but the fact remains that after a year of occupation, two hundred billion dollars and over a thousand troops lives.....the insurgency is stronger than ever.

Such is the harvest of flip flopping and foolishness. And I suspect the incompetence in dealing with the situation is by design. A sinister design that reduces our troops to political paws and sacrifical lambs in an effort to justify a military prescence.

May our forces be invincible in Fallujah. But just keep in mind this battle will be won in the context of conditions that will ensure that the war will continue, with Zarqawi and company setting up shop elswhere and getting reinforcements from the Saudis and Iranians pouring over an ensecure Iraq boarder.
