But I interpreted it as though he said, "America is being so helpful to us, us muslims who WANT to die) by coming here and killing a bunch of us." They have been so instructed since their BIRTH that to DIE by the hand of an infidel while in battle gets him out of that sh-t hole he lives in somewherestan. One of the Ludicrous things about this is, the Canadian news outlets talk about this like it was something New that Canada is considered a target. Did Canadians somehow forget they have been targeted since the First Gulf War? I can't believe that kind of info has been withheld from them... maybe they just bury their heads deeper in the sand than Americans.

The comment about wishing for the deployment of the American army in Somalia should be examined, and not simply dismissed. It is clear that the forces of Jihad -- the mujahedin -- would like the United States to enter hostile, because Muslim, countries.

And the United States should never, ever, enter in force a Muslim country. It costs too much money, and in the end, it becomes -- at a certain point -- a distraction from the world-wide Jihad, which requires the careful application of military force (but chiefly from the skies, with missiles and planes -- as will have to be employed in Iran, with no soldiers entering a country which, fortunately, has had a 25-year experience with Islam that, even more than Ataturk's systematic constraints put on Islam in Turkey, may tie Islam down in Iran for several generations -- until those who actually had to endure the Islamic Republic of Iran die down).

The ideal solution for Muslim countries, as far as the United States is concerned, is precisely the "Somalia solution." You don't hear much about that country today. It has descended into warlordism and chaos. From the point of view of Infidels, this outcome is highly desirable. Nothing should be done to put Somalia back together again -- we need only prevent Muslim Somalis from entering the countries of the West (remember how much abuse the mayor of Lewiston Maine received for speaking some home truths -- and he confined himself to the great strain put on social services and on the city budgent, and did not even get to a matter about which he may not have known -- the potential threat implicit in any increase in the Muslim population, anywhere in the Infidel world, as Europeans are finding out to their infinite regret and fury, ahead of us -- and perhaps it is also a warning to us as to what must be avoided). No, let's leave Somalia to its own mess -- and other Muslim countries as well.

But the southern Sudan, and Darfur -- a relative handful of American troops could swiftly secure, for indisputably humanitarian reasons, both areas, and hold onto them, fending off the northern Jihadis, unitl a referendum could be held. The smiling African faces greeting Americans as saviors would starkly contrast with the hostility of the Muslims in Iraq we are trying to help, but who -- though they may pocket our aid, and remain indifferent to our deaths, or even secretly or openly cheering those deaths -- will remain always hostile, and for the most obvious of reasons: we are Infidels. End of story. The failure of American policymakers to fully understand the nature of Islam, and its malevolence toward Infidels, is the real Intelligence Failure. And that is why we should, within the year, leave Iraq -- not because we do not realize that there is a world-wide Jihad, but because we do.

It is not necessarily those who do not see the full threat and danger of Islam who are most eager to see American forces get out of Iraq, deal swiftly and in time with Iran, and then stand back, and whether Iraq holds together, or collapses into internecine warfare, really doesn't much matter. For "democracy" is not any more likely to lead to limits on Islam. The only thing that will lead to limits on Islam is when Muslims themselves, with Infidels standing far away, come to realize that all the failures and wretchedness of their societis, political, economic, social, and intellectual, all the failures of Muslim countries -- are the fault of Islam itself.

That cannot be taught; it is not a lesson to be imposed. But it is a lesson that can be learned through own's own painful experience. Infidels should do nothing -- no foreign aid, no risking of lives for "reconstructing" Iraq or any other place, nothing -- to make reality less painful, and easier. And this policy of deliberately malign neglect -- letting things get worse, without stepping in to help rescue, yet again, a Muslim country from its own folly and extravagance, when it is in our interest that they be less powerful, without major weaponry, without the money to finance mosques and madrasas worldwide -- is one of the most intelligent policies we can adopt.

Sorry, if Marinies appear anywhere in Africa, it should be not in Somalia, but in the southern Sudan, Darfur, and possibly in Ethiopia if that country is threatened or attacked by Egypt and its Muslim fifth column within Ethiopia itself.

Agree Hugh about Somalia, someone else suggested that the best solution for the US is the Somalia model. Hello, I have been a lurker here at JW for a while and I have been an Islam skeptic for a much longer time, but I wanted to add support to a site that recognizes the threat. Ever since I had to live with a self-righteous Kuwaiti in the dorm in college I have known that there is something in Islam that holds us very much in contempt. I would like to thank this site and faithfreedom for providing more solid background about why the threat is something that cannot be ignored.

They say our election result is a 'declaration of war' No it's not. A declaration of war will be when we as a nation become complely aware of the tenets of Islam and the tactics of Islam. When this happens and we say we are 'Declaring War On Islam' that's when we will have declared war. They declared war on us long ago, but so far it's one sided. We have said we have a 'war on terror', but we have not explicitly said what this war is really about. Maybe the giant will wake up and they will learn what a real declaration of war is.

An impractical philosophy is impractical (duh!), meaning it does not satisfy the requirements of reality, meaning it just won't work.

There is no philosophy that is more impractical than Islam; it is anti-life (how impractical is THAT?), it outlaws thought, it forbids innovation and change, it even forbids the protrayal of life in its so-called art, the mullahs can't even SPELL "rights," it micromanages the lives of its people right down to the level of telling them how to wipe their asses with a bone and which day is the right one to trim their fingernails, beginning with which finger and in what manner, it promotes suicide and murder as the road to Paradise, yadda-yadda, blatt-blatt ad nauseam.

There was a book many years ago called "Atlas Shrugged" that told a story that paralelled the "Somalia Solution," only instead of leaving Islam to stew in its own juices and suffer accordingly, it told a similar story about what would happen in the U.S. if the march towards a socialist society that was underway then continued. It was all about what we today call "liberals" and other leftists.

In the story, the productive, reason-oriented members of society, after much abuse, abandoned their liberal-socialist fellows to their own devices. The reader then watched the logical consquences of the implementation of their philosophy--the crumbling of society, industry, productivity, and happiness--in the wake of the abandonment (they--"Atlas"--"shrugged" off the burden of abuse suffered at the hands of the liberal-socialists) of the ones who left.

The problem is, our PC friends in high places would refuse to "shrug," and would continue to bail out other Islamic countries, falsely believing that they were helping us by so doing.

Islam survives only through a successful career of parasitism of its philosophical betters.

Information available from this site is essential to fully understanding what we in the good 'ol USA and the rest of the civilized world are truly dealing with.

Unhappily, reality does not square with the insipid pc philosophy that has saturated much of the "civilized" world. The difficult truth is that we have no other recourse but to oppose and deal with, in the most strident ways possible, the threat to our way of life.

Ravings from the mohammedan corners are only to be expected. They would do worse if they could, and they may well they are able to slither through our defenses.

regarding the discussion of somalia, i'm not completely convinced that the jihadi blogger is referring to physical somalia. osama bin laden (or as mark steyn has recently renamed omichael bin mooren) has referred to somalia in an almost metaphorical way -- a battle that proves america is a paper tiger since after suffering some casualities we tucked tail and ran. i offer that perhaps the blogger is encouraging the idea that bush is foolhardy & will pursue the military anti-jihad in any part of the umma (i.e. metaphorical somalia) to such point as america's alleged paper-tigeredness shows up -- and thus, allah would have won over the great satan

also, though i find your insights & writings very illuminating, hugh, i would like to offer an alternative theory to your statement: "The only thing that will lead to limits on Islam is when Muslims themselves, with Infidels standing far away, come to realize that all the failures and wretchedness of their societis, political, economic, social, and intellectual, all the failures of Muslim countries -- are the fault of Islam itself." while i agree that your vision is ideal, i cannot wrap my mind around the practicality of it. unlike communism, which had to be contained until it collapsed from within, the islamic movement is already everywhere -- intermingled among non-muslim populations -- and the umma is smack-dab on top of a tremendous amount of oil. thus, it cannot be contained, but must be dealt with in otherwise fashion. though i have abandoned the idea that islam is capable of reformation, i have not abandoned hope that many muslims are essentially good people and can and will benefit from exposure to information previously kept from them by their totalitarian civilization. as america continues its forward-leaning policy with the middle east, we allow for not only the democracy experiment to take hold, but also empower the individuals economically through increased trade, free markets, and freedom of movement. this empowerment leads to the accumulation of such modern accoutrements as television, computers, cell phones, etc. as these erstwhile parochial populations come into the marketplace of ideas, is it not conceivable that many will realize what you are getting at -- namely, that their problems originate with the tenents of islam? will not such empowered and free individuals then have a chance at some sort of renaissance (which i feel could happen even in the absence of islamic reformation)? will not such renaissance lead them away from their totalitarian and false religion?

indeed, this may not take place -- at least to a large degree. but it is the ethical approach. even now, we fight approximately 25,000 people in iraq, yet the total population is 25 million. why, one has to ask, do so many concentrate on the 1 in 1000 and not the 999?

The somalia solution may be impractical for now, but there surely is a growing gut feeling among the public at large that why should we care what mess these people create for themselves, as long as we protect ourselves from it.
