Apparently the killer of Theo van Gogh was not alone in thinking him a blasphemer. This article, "[1] Marokkanen spugen op portret Van Gogh," is in Dutch. The headline means "Moroccans spit on portrait of van Gogh." The article also says that they chanted, "Hamas, Hamas."

It is interesting that the Dutch paper identifies the spitters as "Moroccans." Obviously they think that to identify them as Muslims would be unfair, unwarranted, racist. But Theo van Gogh never attacked Moroccans. He never made a film about bad old Morocco. They are spitting on the image because they are Muslim, and they consider him a blasphemer.

But of course, to take any notice of this is [2] just trying to stir up hatred.
