From the New York Sun, with thanks to LGF:
This came at the end of a week in which Norway managed to forbid Jews from marking the anniversary of Kristallnacht, a step the French haven't yet taken. The local TV2 News reported that no Norwegian Jews participated in Oslo's commemoration of Kristallnacht."TV2 also reported that the authorities, saying they didn't want trouble, forbade any Jewish symbols, including Stars of David and Israeli flags," according to Israel's Arutz-7 radio station. "On the TV2 evening news, a group of Jews and their friends who wanted to take part in the commemoration were shown being firmly told by a policeman to 'please leave the area,'" according to a dispatch from an American journalist living in Norway, Bruce Bawer, on AndrewSullivan.com. "This in a city where Muslim demonstrations take place on a regular basis, and include signs and banners bearing hateful, barbaric slogans." The ban prompted a protest from the Simon Wiesenthal Center to the government of Norway.
You would have thought that the Norwegian Ambassador to Israel would have been called to Israeli Foreign Office to explain, but no, Israel leaves the dirty work of complaining about anti-Semitism to the Simon Weisenthal Centre (as usual).
So much for, "Never Again".
I get it,
the Moslems are a violent hate mongering anti-Semitic bunch. The Jews are peaceful loving nice. If we let the peaceful loving nice Jews celebrate, then the violent, hate mongering, anti-Semitics will become even more so. So they will take the easy way out and ban the Jews from anything and everything, just like Hitler. This will only fortify the discontent the Moslems have for all non-Moslem. This will only turn Norway into a new Palestine hell hole.
No Mohammadanism, Know Peace

As we look at the world today and through history, we see that it is always a losing proposition to persecute the people of God. Though we are rightly distressed at religious persecution today, we can take comfort in the fact that the persecutors always lose. The old Puritan preacher John Trapp details the horrors that befell the ten Emperors of the Roman Empire that persecuted Christians:
- Emperor Nero lost 30,000 of his subjects by pestilence, had his armies utterly defeated in Britain, suffered a revolution in Armenia, and was so hated by the senators of Rome that they forced him to kill himself.
- Emperor Domitian was butchered by his own soldiers.
- Emperor Trajan died of a foul disease.
- Emperor Severus died miserably on a military campaign in Britain.
- Emperor Maximus was cut in pieces, together with his own son.
- Emperor Decius died as an exile in a far country.
- Emperor Valerian was whipped to death by the King of Persia who captured him.
- Emperor Aurelian was killed by his own soldiers.
- Emperor Dioclesian poisoned himself.
- Emperor Maximum hanged himself.
You can't step on the smallest toe of the mystical body of Christ without the head, Jesus Christ Himself, asking "Why have you hurt me?" All in all, it shows the logic of judgment. Since Jesus is one with His people, if one strikes out against His people, that one has struck against Jesus. Paul found this out on the road to Damascus, when Jesus asked him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" (Acts 9:4)

It seems that in the past few days of raging against Heidegger and the post-Nazi Nature-Mysticism movement, I might well have soared to new heights of personal incoherence. Aollow me to try to explain why I think it's important that we look at the state of modern liberalism, not--my God--J.S. Mill, but, dare I say it? Al Gore and George Bush.
I placed my posts in the Dhimmiwatch section here to give it a proper context. The question I tried to rasie is why does the Leftist ethos rule so deeply in the West when in trurth few people in the West actually ascribe to its tenet? What is the root of our dhimmitude-lust? Why would Geo. bush say that Islam is a religion of peace?
My answer to that is that Heidegger and co. have ruled the Academy for so long now that their ethos is the ruling discourse itself. That rather than the simple decency of Montaigne's Nobel Savage, we have the Nazi corruption of philobarbarism, the cult of Blood, Nature-Mysticism, and the power of corporatist violence unleashed by the office eunichs like Foucault in a lust for satisfation of their anti-intellectual sado-masochistic homosexuality. That the Greens are anti-Humanists, not Earth-Firsters. That Heidegger and his lot, back-stabbing Nazis rule the universities from top to bottom, and they do so because they have "inclusionist" cliches to dress up their fascism and to prettify it for the masses.
What does the average man see in the world of islam in Europe? Diversity. His reaction? Tolerance of Otherness. And why? Because of the vast Nazi conspiracy, according to me, but perhaps more likely a programme of Nazi ideology that has morphed over the decades into Left fascism that requires a constituency: Moslems, illiterates, the lumpen-proletariate. And the dhimmitude comes from the success of the liberalistic cliches of Nature-Mysticism of Hiedegger, et al.
How do we confront the islamic perile in the West, let slip our dhimmitude? Well, according to me again, not by allowing ourselves to be slandered as Nazis and fascists, as racists and homophobes, but by clearing the air and showing just what the Western nature of dhimmitude is and from whence it arose.
Did Husserl decide to step aside for his student Heidegger? No, the German state moved Husserl. there was little philosophy involved in it. Nor, I argue, is there a great deal of philosphy involved in the left philobarbarism placements of professors who idealize monsters such as Arafat.
The point of the past few letters on Heidegger was to bring up to the light the point that we are beseiged not simply by Islamic terrorism, but it is imported and sustained by the ruling elite who dconstantly reinforce the message that if we examine dhimmitude, we are racists.
If you'll excuse me, I'm off to have a flu break.
That´s not entirely what was the case though before it entered some media spin :

While I think it a great pity that some of Jesus' kinsmen failed to recognize M'shiach, I tear my clothes and wallow in ashes in shame at being part Norwegian. The whole book of Lamentations flows through my mind! After all, Hitler's rage against the Jews ultimately gave Norway a rather unpleasant occupation experience in WWII, from which being as close to pure-blooded Teutonic could not save the Norwegian people.
I continue to feel that stopping the massacres of Bosniaks and Kosova Shqeptars was the right thing to do; and will gladly recognize that Muslim dissidents from China have stood up for persecuted Christians in that land, too. But it is time that Europe's Muslims recognized that lots of other peoples have suffered much and deserve to remember it--or pack up and return to their ancestral lands.
Ich bin a Yid!
Son of Walker and Bar, thank you for your posts. I think Son of Walker hit the nail on the head about Heideggerian philobarbarism--but it is so provincial and self-centered that it considers the languages of others to be no more than bar-bar-bar-bar (how the Greeks gave us the word "barbaros").

I suggest you read Gibbon's "decline and fall of the Roman empire" before attributing the deaths of above-mentioned emperors solely to their "persecution" of christians, especially since this "persecution" has been wildly over-exaggerated by later christian writers. Toynbee is another historian you may want to read. I don't really see christianity as that positive an influence on Europe or the world although, truth be told, Jesus as a person seems to have been a decent enough person and definitely wasn't a murderous tyrant like his muslim counterpart.
