No concern that they are likely to fall into the loving arms of the jihadists. From the National Post, with thanks to Jerry Gordon:
An American Jewish organization is accusing the federal government of "callous indifference" over the fate of seven former members of Israel's proxy army in Lebanon who have been ordered out of Canada as soon as possible. The men have been denied refugee status here but, as veterans of the Israeli-backed South Lebanese Army (SLA), would face certain imprisonment, torture or even death if deported back to Lebanon, they and their defenders claim.
The Lebanese expatriates point to the case of a Canadian citizen who used to belong to the SLA and says he was jailed and tortured after visiting Lebanon this summer. He has since been freed and is back in Canada. But another SLA veteran deported to Lebanon last month is still in prison and has been tortured, according to a letter from his lawyer there and representatives of the American Jewish Committee.
"I ask the [Immigration] Minister if, in Canada, we have humanity for people like us?" said Joseph Semman, another SLA veteran who came to Canada with his wife, Nagham Rizk, in 2000 and now faces removal.
"He must leave us here. He must make a new life for us. We come here to work, to make a new life, to make a good life for me and my kids. We don't come to Canada to fight or to do something wrong."
The men are being denied refugee status on the basis of being members of a group that committed crimes against humanity. But they argue that they were small cogs in the organization and had nothing to do with any human rights violations, which watchdogs reported on both sides of the conflict in Israeli-occupied south Lebanon.
Mr. Semman, who has had two children in Canada, said he worked in an army body shop.
Supporters say the men especially risk retribution from Hezbollah, the fundamentalist Islamic group that has been banned as a terrorist organization by Canada and now all but controls southern Lebanon.
The "callous indifference" we accused Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Ministry over the deportation of these South Lebanon Army vets and their dependents was perpetrated by Palestinian and Hezbolleh sympathizers and translators in the government agency. The alleged "facts" was supplied by a long time Hezbolleh advocate, Quebecker, Josee Lambert and the Quebec chapter of Amnesty International who alleged the vets violation of human rights.
When three MPs in the ridings (equivalent to our Congressional districts)for the SLA vets were approached for assistance in dealing with the CIC:two refused. One of those who rejected assistance backed Quebec provincial funds for a Mosque to be built in his riding. The third MP was away on "vacation."
Two vets were intercepted upon arrival at Beirut International Airport this summer and fall, detained, interrogated and tortured in violation of the 1984 UN Convention against Torture of which Canada is a signatory. The loyal opposition Alliance party lead by Stockwell Day will doubtless ask PM Paul Martin about CIC Minister, the Rt. Hon. Judy Sgro's blot on her copybook and his. The CIC was the same government ministry in Canada that prevented ex-PLO terrorist, now Zionist and friend of the Jewish people, Walid Shoebat from entering Canada last May to give an address in Vancouver. Walid gave the talk via webcast. CIC was urged on by none other than ISM in Canada to deny entry to Walid Shoebat, even though he had entered Canada three times in 2003-2004 to give university talks. Tell you something about the emerging CANArabia to our north, eh?
Canada has gone off the deep end. It can't be saved. It has turned against the Jews because its Muslim master is yanking on the leash. The Jews - who actually contribute to Canadian society and its economy, who have always been an asset (where would Montreal be without the past positive contribution of Jews?) are now persona non grata. Yes, toss out those nasty SLA, but welcome the Khadr scum with open arms. The Khadr leeches who despise you, who laud that putrid Bin Liner, who use you while thumbing their noses at you. Yes, welcome them and similar ilk like them. Stupid, stupid Canada. I'm embarrassed for you.
All of them should be admitted to the United States without delay. For clearly they stand in danger of persecution. And what's more, native speakers of Arabic who are on the right side are needed here, to serve in the security services. A perfect fit.
The employees of the CIC need to find out more about the Maronites of Lebanon, and the general treatment of Christians by Muslims in that area. A good place to begin: the essays of Habib Malik, son of Charles Malik, the Lebanese statesman. Google "Habib Malik" and "Islam" or "dhimmi" and see what appears.
