Putin says Bush win means U.S. not scared of terror

Putin notes that the U.S. was by and large unprepared to play the dhimmi. From Reuters:

MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday welcomed a victory for George W. Bush in the U.S. presidential race, saying it meant Americans had not allowed themselves to be cowed by terrorists.

"If Bush wins, then I can only feel joy that the American people did not allow itself to be intimidated, and made the most sensible decision," Putin said at a Kremlin news conference after talks with Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi....

"I am convinced that international terrorism gave itself the goal of not allowing the re-election of Bush. The statement by bin Laden in the final stages of the pre-election campaign is the best confirmation of this," Putin said.

He was referring to a video statement by bin Laden promising attacks on the United States in retaliation for deaths in Iraq.

Bush Closer in Pennsylvania Than Kerry Is in Ohio
How fascinating that the pro-Democrat media establishment so quickly called states for Sen. John Kerry where his margin of alleged victory is smaller than President Bush's lead in Ohio.
The tally in Pennsylvania, according to pro-Kerry CNN: 2,868,674 for Kerry, 2,746,856 for Bush, an advantage of 121,818.
In Ohio: 2,794,346 for Bush, 2,658,125 for Kerry, an advantage of 136,221.
And check out New Hampshire: 340,019 for Kerry, 330,848 for Bush, a difference of only 9,171. Then there's Wisconsin, which CNN, USA Today and others claim Kerry won: 1,482,583 for Kerry, 1,468,937 for Bush, a difference of only 13,646.
Just as bad: Media including the Wall Street Journal claimed Tuesday morning that Arkansas was too close to call but that California would of course vote Democrat. Yet check out the results: Arkansas was 55-44 for Bush, and California was 55-44 for Kerry.
Many media had called Colorado a swing state but dubbed Connecticut and Delaware solid Democrat states. The results: Colorado was 53-46 for Bush, Delaware 53-46 for Kerry and Connecticut 54-44 for next-door Kerry.
The only places where Kerry won more than 60 percent of the vote: Massachusetts, Rhode Island and the District of Columbia. Bush topped 60 percent in 14 states.

Karzai Wins Afghanistan's Presidential Election
NewsMax.com Wires
Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004
KABUL, Afghanistan – Hamid Karzai has won Afghanistan's landmark presidential election, a spokesman for its electoral board said Wednesday, after investigators concluded that fraud and technical errors were too minor to overturn his triumph.

A formal announcement declaring Karzai the winner of a five-year term as the country's first directly elected leader was expected later Wednesday. Still, Karzai's closest challenger, Yunus Qanooni, refused to concede defeat, raising the risk of political instability in a country slowly emerging from a quarter-century of war.
The U.N.-sponsored electoral board quickly approved a report by a panel of experts called in to investigate allegations of cheating, spokesman Sultan Baheen said.
"At 4 o'clock it will certify the result," Baheen said. "Karzai is the winner."
The board says the U.S.-backed interim leader won 55.4 percent support in the Oct. 9 election, 39 points clear of Qanooni and enough to avoid a second round.
The three-strong panel was called in after Qanooni and other challengers claimed massive fraud in favor of Karzai and threatened to boycott the results.
In its final report released Wednesday, the panel confirmed problems including ballot stuffing and with ink used to mark people's fingers to prevent multiple voting.
But it said there was "no evidence" that the problems were widespread, or that they favored only Karzai.
"There were shortcomings," Staffan Darnolf, a Swedish election expert on the panel, said at a news conference. "But they could not have materially affected the overall result."
Qanooni's running mate, Syed Hussein Alemi Balkhi, said the report was "unacceptable" but stopped short of saying that they would reject the election result.
"We had a lot of questions, but the panel was not able to answer them," Balkhi said. "We are not satisfied with their findings."
There was no immediate reaction from the camp of Karzai, who left Kabul Wednesday to attend the funeral of the late president of the United Arab Emirates.
Karzai, who will be inaugurated in early November, has vowed to accelerate the slow rebuilding of a country shattered by war and drought with the goal of doubling the income of ordinary Afghans by 2009.
But any attempt to focus on the economy will be complicated by the challenge of confronting warlords and drug traffickers even as a stubborn insurgency grinds on.
The size of his task, and the rancor surrounding the vote, has also been highlighted by a hostage crisis involving three foreign election workers.
The abduction has been claimed by a splinter group of the Taliban, which had vowed to attack the election, but officials also suspect the involvement of militia leaders who could lose out if Karzai presses on with efforts to disarm unruly warlords.
More than 8 million Afghans cast their ballots more than three weeks ago in a show of enthusiasm for a democratic experiment on which Taliban rebels had declared war.

Pakistan Protecting bin Laden
Arnaud de Borchgrave
Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004
With his latest video sally, Osama bin Laden, the world's most wanted terrorist, has repositioned himself as the only leader willing to confront the world's sole superpower. Bin Laden has been hiding in Pakistan for almost three years, evidently with high-ranking protection.
Standing at a desk in a white turban and gold-colored ceremonial cloak, his message was clear: Not on the run but sharing the limelight with President Bush and his challenger John Kerry and hard at work as leader of disenfranchised Arabs and other Muslims seeking Palestine's liberation and the downfall of the authoritarian regimes of the Middle East and absolute monarchies and emirates of the Gulf.
Yasser Arafat's passing from the world stage also leaves a revolutionary vacancy. Thus, bin Laden's latest peroration is designed to outflank Muslim moderates who failed to obtain a change in Washington's pro-Israeli, benign neglect of the Palestinian crisis for the duration of the Iraqi crisis.
Bin Laden now knows that certain countless millions of Muslims, surveyed by the Pew Foundation two years in a row, trust him more than George W. Bush. In Muslim countries with a combined population of 450 million, bin Laden was a clear winner as a "freedom fighter" over the U.S. president. In Morocco and Jordan, two traditionally pro-Western countries, at least at the regime-to-regime level, Mr. Bush was trusted by fewer than 10 percent in either country.
Bin Laden also scored majorities among the 6 million, mostly poverty-stricken, North Africans living in slums on the outskirts of France's major cities. Similar paeans echoed among 1 million South Asians in the greater London region.
Pakistani denials notwithstanding, Osama bin Laden has been in Pakistan since Dec. 9, 2001, when he escaped from the Tora Bora mountain range. Countrywide, bin Laden feels secure with 66 percent of Pakistanis, which moves up to plus 80 percent in the Northwest Frontier Province and Baluchistan, the two provinces bordering Afghanistan and governed by bin Laden admirers who consider Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar a personal friend.
This reporter and a multilingual UPI team, tipped by a major tribal leader about bin Laden's progress as he exited the Tora Bora mountain range through the Tirah Valley, arrived at the location Dec. 11, 2001. Local villagers confirmed that bin Laden, on horseback, accompanied by some 50 fighters, had come out of the Tirah Valley two days before. They were close to a main road that led from Pakistan's FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) to Peshawar, capital of the Northwest Frontier Province (NWFP). Bin Laden left in the direction of Peshawar in an SUV with darkened windows.
On either side of the road from Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan, to the Afghan border, there are large adobe-walled compounds of landowners and important tribal leaders. Osama bin Laden would be safe in any one of scores of such compounds.
Taliban's top leaders own similar estates where they live with impunity. Chaman, the Pakistani border town, is also home to a new crop of Taliban leaders. Some Pakistani journalists have the satellite phone numbers of Taliban's intelligence chief and other officials who feed them exaggerated or imagined tidbits about exploits against U.S. forces on the other side of the mountains.
Bin Laden could be sheltered in any of Pakistan's major cities. The sprawling port of Karachi on the Arabian Sea, surrounded by miles of slums, has some 15 million people. In Peshawar, a city of 3.5 million, many Pathans, like bin Laden, are over six feet tall. In FATA, rickety local buses display posters of bin Laden captioned "Freedom Fighter." Bin Laden also enjoys the protection of renegade members of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI).
Before Operation Enduring Freedom crushed the Taliban regime in November 2001, some 1,500 ISI operatives ensured the security of Mullah Omar's rule. They maintained permanent liaison with bin Laden and his top lieutenants as he moved around a score of terrorist training camps and safe houses in Kandahar and Jalalabad.
Conventional wisdom among the al-Qaida watchers in Pakistan says President Pervez Musharraf's regime is reluctant to launch a countrywide crackdown to find bin Laden. If bin Laden were captured, dead or alive, Mr. Musharraf would feel obligated to turn him over to the United States. And Pakistan might then face a disinterested U.S. administration and lose billions in aid.
Mr. Musharraf has said at different times he knew bin Laden was dead, then that he was alive but ill. Today, he concedes bin Laden may be in a mountain hideout where fiercely loyal local tribesmen would not betray him for the $25 million offered by the U.S.
Three months before the release of the September 11 Commission report, commission chief of staff Phil Zelikow asked a prominent Pakistani if he could "fill in the gaps about what was happening behind the scenes in Pakistan in the period immediately preceding the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington." He traveled the length and breadth of Pakistan working his sources, which included many former ranking government officials, retired senior officers and former ISI personnel.
The requested report arrived in Washington too late to be included in the commission's 567-page report, which mentioned Pakistan 311 times. Even if it had arrived in time, it probably would have been left out. The material turned over to Mr. Zelikow, a former member of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (2001-2003), could prove even more embarrassing to Mr. Musharraf than the information supplied by U.S. intelligence about the international nuclear black market arms bazaar that was run for the benefit of America's enemies (North Korea, Iran and Libya).
The godfather of Operation Proliferation was Dr. A.Q. Khan, father of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal, and a charter member of the country's pantheon of national heroes.
The unpublished addendum to the September 11 report said:
(1) Former senior ISI officers knew about the September 11 plot before the attacks occurred.
(2) Osama bin Laden has not left Pakistan since he escaped from Tora Bora.
(3) Bin Laden was treated for renal problems at a military hospital near Peshawar.
Mr. Musharraf will, of course, deny all this. Though he was army chief before his military coup in October 1999 gave him absolute power, Mr. Musharraf told the United States he knew nothing about A.Q. Khan's activities. This stretched credulity to the breaking point. He pardoned Mr. Khan and allowed him to keep his ill-gotten nuclear fortune. Future denials about bin Laden will ring as hollow.

DC~ Putin is a Perfect example of the 'lesser of two evils.' As in, why the US often backs one bad person over another, as we unfortunately had to with Saddam over the mullahocracy in Iran. And perhaps even in the case of the Northern Alliance, over the Taliban, during the Soviet war against Afghanistan. I have to guess we will be playing him off against China in the future.

From Internet Haganah and very topical
there is no lw against the falsification of history! CAIR is already well aware.

Combatting the global jihad online
In the two and a half years I've spent directing this thing we call Internet Haganah, I have tried a broad range of strategies and tactics. One such tactic has been to try to funnel information gathered on the internet through Federal law enforcement rather than posting that information on this website. I have come to the conclusion that this is not effective enough to justify the time, effort, and turmoil involved. Not for me.

+++

A conflict arises from jihad and Islamist terrorism being treated as a law enforcement issue. Granted the actions of jihadists *are* against the law, but this is missing the point.

There is no law against attempting to rewrite our history books to hide the true nature of our enemy.

There is no law against implanting doubts about the competence or honesty of our leaders in order to divide the nation.

There is no law against attempting to demoralize us.

All these things are acts of war, perpetrated by an enemy in order to deprive us of the will to continue fighting. Law enforcement is essential to maintaining the social order under which our liberties thrive, but it is simply not the right tool for dealing with the enemy in a time of war.

+++

The global jihad will not be defeated by law enforcement, it will be defeated by intelligence, by covert action, and by open warfare.

In the most general terms, we will defeat the global jihad by undermining the will of the jihadists to continue to fight. I am convinced that if we are persistent, and if we allow them no safe haven either in the real world or cyber space, we can and we will defeat them.

Open Memo to Mr. Putin:

Why on earth would the American people chose to play the 'dhimmi' role? Islam is unable to verify ANY of its core beliefs. It has given the world nothing but murder and mayhem. It is in short a disaster for humanity.

On the other hand the United States has given the world much that is beneficial. Why would we surrender our freedoms to Islam? Why would anyone?

But thanks for sharing,

Sincerely

Pythagoras

yes the demonization of george Bush has been an international Jihad and we should recognise it as such, the final proof being the Osama tape brought in when they thought they might fail.
Well fail they did and thank God!
well done America in joining Australia in the Coalition of hte unwilling to submit to global islamification

That's so nice of Mr. Putin to come forward with a response. As DCWatson so correctly pointed out - “when will he answer for undermining our efforts in Iraq?” Come on Mr. Putin, explain why you were against every effort to put a stop to criminal activities by the Madman of Iraq? I’m afraid the few seconds it took to make your response has no credibility.

What? No response from Chirac? Too busy babysitting? That figures.

perhaps, in the form of an olive branch, Mr Putin might reveal his own part in the laundering of Iraq's WMDs.
A little too late, simce it might have been the cause of Bushes downfall.
Now would be a good time, if he wished to join hands with coalition against global Jihad, to get a front seat before the stands fill up.

CANADA does not want the US disgruntled Democrats who want to emigrate - they will have to stand in line.(presumably behind the Jihadists who have preference!)

Putian you need better poll people??

George, thank you for passing on that quote from Internet Haganah. With the re-election of the President, now is the time to drive home the point that we need to get serious about treating jihad as an act of WAR.
I for one plan a round of letters to my legislators and media explaining this. As usual I will be using Robert's writings as a source.
As for Putin, if he says something that helps me make my point, I'll use it.

Remember it was only Russia and Israel who were with the American People in this Fight in the Last Poll that came out of Europe??

Not sure if that poll included Italy or the Aussis but it came out before the Aussis reelected John Howard and our press left ou that Fact about Howard??

I have six predictions, and I hope that I am wrong on all six.

One: Iraq will be "just like" Iran in less than two years.

Two: We will suffer another terrorist attack worse than 9-11.

Three: Liberals will be blamed for the terrorist attack, again.

Four: Dubya will continue to obey the bidding of the Saudi Royal Family.

Five: (Perhaps in conjunction with Prediction Four) Dubya will turn on Israel, because he thinks doing so's in the bible.

Six: Rush Limbaugh and Ken Lay will "walk."

You can laugh, lie, criticize, castigate, excoriate, etc.-ate all you want, but I have said this again and again and no one has called me on it yet: The ONLY really influential people to criticize Saudi Royal Family in public this year are Mike Moore, John Kerry, John Edwards, and Bob Graham.

I'm not worried about ME because "my side" lost. I have a damn good, secure, non-outsource-able job. I have free health care at work. My republican boss, who treats me like his own son, matches my 401(k) with 4%, and I only put in 5%! Even if I lose my job, I can always go to grad school for free, and get $20K for teaching a couple of labs. I could milk that for four-six years if I had to, then go teach anywhere in the world.

I worry about people with nothing. No job, no health care insurance, no money, no education, and no future.

"First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. And then you win."

It's always good to hear from you KJ.

I'd just like to say that perhaps the one good thing to come from Bush's re-election, is that if Iraq turns into Iran, then only Bush will be the one to be blamed.

"I worry about people with nothing. No job, no health care insurance, no money, no education, and no future."
kj

So white of you to worry about the preponderance of people--the masses--in the Moslem world. Were the "Arab Street" to know how much you worry about them, they would probably exempt you from what they would like to do to all infidels--on second thought, probably not.

kj-
why should it be america's problem if the MidEast masses are hungry. If you want to b so good and help them out, do so yourself. the government needs to look out for americans first. that is its sole purpose, and to do otherwise truly be the beginning of the global american empire that you people are so afraid of.

I'm not worried about ME because "my side" lost. I have a damn good, secure, non-outsource-able job. I have free health care at work. My republican boss, who treats me like his own son, matches my 401(k) with 4%, and I only put in 5%

Hey, c'mon Folks! A cheering piece of news from other Jihad Channel - BBC - 6,000 jobs are to be axed!! So that's 6,000 Leftist Lunatics looking for employment ...

Osama Bin Laden got what he wanted. A President with financial ties to his family, one who has seen fit to conceal from the American public the full extent of the Suadi government's backing of the 9-11 attack, a President who makes no issue of the Saudi's support of the Iraqi insurgency killing American troops, and a President with his faith baised initiative is diverting millions of dollars to facilitate and support the spread of Islam within the United States. This with in the context of boosting religion in general with in our society.

The jihad is coming at us from above my fellow Americans. America's greatest defence from islam, from a political standpoint, is it's secular government. NOT CHRISTIANITY! The fundamentalist christian movement now poses a real threat to the secular character of our government. If they do in fact topple that aspect of our government then that would pave the way for the Islamitisation of American. Rational considerations fall by the way side of religious ones. An Islamic state in a secular society like ours is absurd and a non starter. In a religious society though, it is just another option not out of the realm of consideration.

George W. Bush fabricated a quasi-religious mythology that mask failed performance. And also negated historical rational trends among the voting public. The mass deception set a dangerous president that will send us down a slippery slope into the clutches of religious fanatics.

In such a transformed political culture, Islam is a viable option. It could become just another tool of social engeneering to acheive political conforminty to a social construct of wealth polarizaton ( such as exist in the Mid East more than anywhere else in the world ) too tempting for a ruling class to pass up.

Dangerous times are ahead of us, be on the vigilence!

That news about the BBC -- how wonderful. Let us do everything we can to make sure that chirpy little Judy Swallow, nasty Lyse Doucet, Robin Lustig, Ian Brody, all with the BBC World Service, and of course John Simpson who heads that show, he of "The Cyanide Conspiracy" introduction, are let go. There has to be a cleaning up of the BBC, and it cannot be done by the Foreign Office.

How about a nice Committee of Quangos, headed by Vladimir Bukovsky, who lives in Cambridge, knows something about totalitarian thought-control, and has been enraged by the BBC's bias for years -- yes, Bukovsky is the man. Aided, perhaps, by others who have the same kind of knowledge of how propaganda works -- Pavel Kohout in Prague comes to mind, and the Polish historian Geremek, and the current foreign minister of Bulgaria (I forget his name). Yes, they will do very nicely.

And NPR stations should be discouraged -- in the only way that gets their attention, by limiting their ability to raise funds successfully, from continuing to inflict the biased BBC, now a stalking-horse for Eurabian views, into American homes. Surely the Senate will want to cease all indirect support for the BBC, with its incredible coverage not only of the Arab Jihad against Israel, but of American, and British, actions in Iraq. Goodbye, BBC. If after the 6,000 jobs are gone, we find that the worst offenders are looking for work, we will reconsider -- that is the attitude the Senate should take.

Attention could profitably be focussed on the use of American taxpayers' monoey to NPR, which in turn pays the BBC to broadcast its propaganda (The Guardian in radio-wave form). We do not need to pay for our own Eurabian brainwashing, and should refuse to continue. It is not true that the BBC offers all sorts of news that one could not otherwise get, nor that the presentation is impressive. It is not. Occupied Europe is ill-served by the present BBC, which often is equivalent to having Lord Haw Haw safely ensconced in Bush House, rather than having to broadcast in Berlin. As all those who have to listen to it, and still have their wits about them, know, it beggars the imagination in its arrogance, its certainty, its bias. At times, it is simply an FM version of Robert Fisk. This we need not endure.

Dangerous times are ahead of us, be on the vigilence! ~ Nossy

Yep. Exactly why we hired Bush back on for another 4.

KJ and Nostradamus:

Re: Bush and the Saudis

As has been pointed out once or twice, here and elsewhere, Bush may not have said an unkind word about them publicly, but he sure as hell defied the Saudis' when he invaded Iraq, and the terror bombings that went on inside the kingdom last spring were responses to the crack-downs on the extremists that Bush pushed the Saudis into.

Funny, isn't it, how Bush is routinely assailed for his seeming lack of diplomacy and tact? I guess there's the pseudo-diplomacy of UN/diplomatic core/state department types, and the kind of diplomacy Teddy Roosevelt described: Walk softly and carry a big stick.

Which one do you think is more effective?

he jihad is coming at us from above my fellow Americans. America's greatest defence from islam, from a political standpoint, is it's secular government. NOT CHRISTIANITY! The fundamentalist christian movement now poses a real threat to the secular character of our government
Said Nostradamus

Well, hello Nostradamus, I´m going to ask a question, if your argument is true, why Sweden, France and the Netherlands three historical christian countries but now isn´t none practicants, there are dhirmitude and already kihad in french districts, in Malmö( Sweden) and the killing of Van Gogh in the Netherlands, nevertheless American is christian( protestant and catholic) and Poland is catholic and there aren´t dhirmitude, why? Answer me, greetings

A spanish

KJ,

Sure it feels good for a Bush-hater to believe that Bush is in bed with the Saudis but think of your sources. Why do you believe a disengenuos film-maker who calls the terrorists of Fallujiah "minutemen"? Furthermore, Moore recently brags about Osama quoting from his movie "F 9/11." All this is available at his website.

Other than that, please understand why conservatives resent liberals so much. You said yourself that many from your political perspective fail to appreciate the danger of Islam. That attitude can become the undoing of America, as it has become so for Europe.

BTW, thanks for convincing some of your liberal friends of the danger inherent to Islam. This is a task best suited to liberals and ex-liberals. Conservatives are mostly wasting their breath because liberals will usually attribute their antipathy towards Islam to "bigotry." Keep up that good work at least!

Amen Hugh,

I find it hard to live without NPR, especially without the cultural programing, but I am fed up with its bias in its news, talk shows, and even entertainment (I can't listen to Garrison Keiller anymore). I really hope they meet their nemesis Republican dominated congress. I will write letters to my representative soon.

Franze:

I've never addressed you, but I want you to know how much I value your input here at JW. I always look forward to reading your posts and your contribution here at JW is much appreciated. Your voice is one of the few we hear from Spain and your perspective is important. PLEASE POST MORE OFTEN!

The unbelievers may say, ‘What does the Lord intend by this?’ The Lord will lead astray whomever He pleases, and He will guide whomever He pleases: and none can know the armies of your Lord except He, and this is no other than a warning to mankind.”

This can be broken by Yes it is the Army of the people of the Book who he has chosen to Free [USA] the Iraqi people as it says

He will guide whomever He pleases: and none can know the armies of your Lord except He, and this is no other than a warning to mankind.”

Yes he has chosen the USA!!

And let’s look at another part?

The Lord will lead astray whomever He pleases,

Ubl,saddam, zawari, all who Kill and destroy mankind?

There will be no more warnings?

You know, maybe there is something to the "we can't force democracy on people" argument after all.

If it's imperialist and colonialist to do so, maybe we should consider other actions in the same light.

What right have we to force efficient, effective methods of agriculture on starving countries, surely we must respect their culture, even if it hasn't evolved beyond scratching in the dirt with flint-topped wooden ploughs to sow mangy, insect-vulnerable seeds.

And healthcare, how dare we force people to use modern, scientifically developed medicines to cure a whole host of diseases, aren't we disrespecting their traditions of dancing around a sick person chanting useless invocations to worthless invented deities?

Why should we force the essential skills of reading and writing on these poor wretches, why on earth would they want to go on to university and become scientists and doctors instead of spending their lives in back-breaking menial drudgery as generations have done before them?

Liberals?, I have a feeling that the new liberals are really the old racists in new (designer) suits.

You are closer than you think, saoirse. A friend said something to me about Bush bringing back Jim Crow laws.

I looked them up. They were put in place by Democrats.

There are only three possible fates, set out with absolute clarity, discussed and commented upon endlessly by learned Islamic commentators and jurisconsults, for Infidels: we, the Infidels, those who do not accept Islam, can be killed, or we can "revert" to a monstrous belief-system that would spell the end of art and music and science and all freedom of thought and all possiblity of equality of the sexes and so much more, or w applied specifically to those who wish to kill us, or we can be forced to live, not as "second-class citizens" (the very description is both inaccurate, and paints far too rosy a picture), in a state of permanent humiliation, degradation, and physical insecurity.

Kindly memorize the above paragraph, and teach it to every Infidel you know. Those are the three possible fates, and the only three, under Muslikm rule.

And Muslim rule can come about through conquest, or through Da'wa (as in Indoensia), or through demography (as is happening in the parts of Africa where non-Muslim blacks are outbred, and where that fails to achieve the desired effect, the blacks are starved to death, or killed outright, and in such Western European countries as France and Holland).

This is all you need to know about Islam. The precise details that tell you when you may be killed outright, and how you may be allowed to answer the Call to Islam (Da'wa), and the details worked out so thoroughly at Muslim websites for how to "handle" Infidels, and how to promote Islam by hiding its real nature (see www.dawanet.com for a sample -- spend some time there), the precise political, economic, and social disabilities whose sum is the institution known as dhimmitude, the various instruments of JIhad, used separtetly or in tandem -- all this is good to know, but the main thing you need to know is simply that first paragraph above.

Once that is clearly understood and thoroughly assimilated, you have to decide how best to proceed. Saiorse, above, suggests leaving the Muslim world to its own horrible devices. I agree. It is madness to be rebuilding -- rebuilding! -- destroyed mosques in Fallujah, or to plan to rebuild all of Fallujah, along with the rest of Iraq. Why? We have spent close to $200 billion getting rid of a monsrous regime. We have already built schools, rebuilt hospitals, built roads, and so on -- even as American soldiers are now constantly under assault, as those they are helping, those who are the beneficiares, are attempting to kill them.

It is madness. Destroy the enemies. And then take whatever money was origiinally planned for reconstruction and apply it to the increased costs of security -- including the cost of underplating those Humvees that are too often blown up.

The invasion and the destruction of arms depots, and the search for other kinds of weaponry, was completely justified. But after this January election, get out. We cannot endure the spectacle of seeing Americans killed, and tens of billions more spent, on those who will always hate us because we are Infidels. The failure to understand this, the failure to understand just why this situation is completely different from that of Japan and Germany, where the reigning ideologies were completely discredited after the countries had been completely destroyed, is simply not understood. The mantra of the colonels returning to Fort Bragg shows that some of them have been taught to believe, despite all the evidence, that this is a situation just like "Japan and Germany, and people were naysayers then." Nonsense.

There was only one Intelligence Failure in this war. And that was the failure to intelligently understand, and appreciate, the tenets of Islam, the power of Islam, the hostility of Islam, the malevolence of Islam. And the "war on terror" is a war, in truth, against the Jihad.

And how, in modern times, has anything ever been done to constrain Islam? Not by helping Turkey, but by defeating it, taking away its Empire, the Infidel Allies in World War I created a sitatuion in which, to save Turkey itself, Ataturk rightly concluded that he had to work to constrain Islam.

It is not democracy in Iraq, or the lack of it, that is the problem for the world of Infidels, including naive and good-hearted Americans. For Infidels, the problem is Islam itself, and the power of Islam over men's minds, and its effect on their behavior, in their own countries, and wherever they may settle -- and above all, their behavior toward Infidels.

It is simply out of the question, given the hostilty to Infidels that is central to Islam (just because not all Muslims feel it as keenly as others, or act upon it, is not the same thing as sayiing that hostility is not everywhere inculcated, in Qur'an, hadith, and the model of Muhammad in the sira), to think that helping a country, building up a Muslim country, will result in anything but the most limited and fleeting gratitude -- indeed, it is more likely, the more contact that is had with that country, the more there will be hostlity (leaving aside a very thin layer at the top, and a handful of remarkable people, but if we win the real, and lasting gratitude, even of a few hundred thousand Iraqis out of 25 million, so what? In political thinking, both absolute and relative numbers count. Schindler turned out to be hero --but that would not have modified in the slightest our attitude toward the Nazis. There will always be exceptions to the general rule -- in Iraq, these are the people who, of course, sense that there is something about Islam that is a problem but do not dare say it in those terms.

By far the most intelligent way to proceed, once Fallujah has been subdued (as important for its symbolic effect, in proving to the Arabs and Muslims that they cannot defeat Western military power, and there is plenty more where that came from)--but under NO circumstances should Fallujah be rebuilt, and after the elections. Then get out. This colossal misallocation of resources will undo whatever good has been done by destroying and above all disarming Iraq, and showing how easily it can be done.

But we want the Arabs and Muslims to begin to question Islam. We want them to come to some conclusions of their own. Let a thousand little Ataturks arise. But this cannnot be done if the Infidel army remains in Iraq -- or Infidel "rebuilders." This is the exact opposite of what is needed. Get out. Leave them to conclude that their own system, their own way of thought or non-thought, is part of their problem. We want to create, everywhere we can, by refusing to pump in Western aid and Western know-how and of course, Western weaponry, and by making it impossible for the Muslim countries to send surplus populations to the Bilad al-kufr where they will conduct Da'wa, and breed, and make life more expensive, unpleasant, and dangerous for the Infidels in their own lands.

And what, if we now leave (though of course from the air, from far away, we should certainly remove the nuclear weapons threat from Iran -- but not a single American soldier need enter Iran, for once the regime is humiliated, the Iranian populaton will do the rest), and stop propping up Egypt and Jordan with American money, and stop giving them military aid, will happen? What will happen is that certain conclusions will slowly be drawn -- especially if all over the West we demonstrate that we cannot be fooled about Islam, and we, at least, can connect the dots between what Muslims learn from their canonical texts (Qur'an and hadith and sira), and the attitudes that create the failures of Muslim countries.

Submission to the ruler, hostility toward the very idea of the autonomoous individual, punishment of the exercise of free and skeptical thought, leads to the natural tendency of Islam to lead to despotism. It may be enlightened despotism (Mohammad V of Morocco, the Shah of Iran) or unenlightened despotism (Mubarak, Saddam Hussein, the Saudi kleptocrats, the Assad dynasty), but despotism it will be. The economic failures too, are a result of fatalism, of failure to allow for individual initiative, and an attitude that the Infidel world owes us, the Muslims, a living -- whether through the jizyah, or a disguised jizyah (the tribute extorted in foreign aid); and the trillions received since 1973 in oil wealth have failed, everywhere, to create a modern economy, and as for a work-ethic, anyone who has lived in Saudi Arabia knows those 3-hour days those Saudis who do pretend to have a job put in).

And Islam is an intellectual failure becaue it inhibits art, and science. Sculpture, most painting, almost all music, almost all dancing, are prohibited in Islam. Free and skeptical inquiry, which would of course come up against any religious belief, but which somehow has managed to make its peace with other religions (particularly Christianity and Judaism), can do nothing against the immutable rigidity of Islam.

Let all this be realized -- by Infidels and, much more unwillingly and slowly, by Muslims.

But for god's sake, end this incredible misallocation of men, materiel, money, and attention -- not because there is no threat, but precisely because there is a much bigger one, with far more various and powerful instruments, and that threat, especially in Europe, will not be dealt with by "rebuilding" Iraq.

The "Light Unto the Muslim Nations" (LUMP for short) project was creeated by people who had not thought very deeply about Islam and what it means, and what it is all about (and that includes, I'm afraid, Bernard Lewis, who though he mentioned the inevitable islamization of Europe a few months ago, has yet to use up some of his prestige and admit, as he was similarly reluctant to do about his unbridled, Yossibeilinesque enthusiasm for the so-called Oslo Accords, that he was wrong about Iraq, that he and Woolsey were wrong to propose a Hashemite monarch, that he did not foresee, because he has consistently, throughout his life, not come to grips with the full malevolence of Islam for all sorts of reasons, some of them having more to do with vanity and a desire to "bestride the two worlds" like a colossus. He should do the decent thing, and admit that in a very few months it will be time to say goodbye to Iraq, and to the LUMPen mistake that needs to be corrected, lest it become, as many realize, an enormous diversion and drain on resources. No matter how often people at the Army War College, sitting at their desks, dutifully attempt to memorize the lesson, and to repeat that "Iraq is just like Occupied Japan or Germany and people didn't think those occupations would work either, just look at some of the things that were predicted in 1947...", the 900-pound gorilla of Islam will give a roar from the schoolyard, and disrupt class yet again.

Nostradamus you are SO right.

Look at all the christians in the Church of England who talk glowingly about Islam. Not all of course, (Dr Clifford is one of the few exceptions.)

As we've seen from the mormon who chose to fast for Ramadan, once you're involved in one cult, then it's easy to transfer your allegiances to another cult.

The only protection from Islam is secularism.

This is why I wonder whether it would be so difficult after all for the United States to become muslim.

Once again Nostradamus, thank you, thank you, thank you for that post.

I'm much indebted.

Gary - you'll have to excuse my "other side of the pond" lack of knwledge here, what are the Jim Crow Laws?, i've heard the name JC before but don't know the details, could you explain for me?

Hugh - does anyone stop to think what the vast amounts of US money spent on this, and the subsidies paid out to the totally worthless black holes of egypt, the "palestinians" et al could achieve if spent on bringing basic improvements in black africa or latin, central america or parts of asia, india?

How many schools, hospitals, sewage treatment plants, doctors, teachers, nurses, god, the list is endless, could be provided for this money?

Would africans be anti-american if they saw hospitals and schools and clean drinking water being provided all over the place by the US?

If I sound like a bleeding heart, I'm not, but I am amazed that we don't engage seriously in changing peoples mind by real positive action like this, what do we think black africa would prefer if we did start doing this, real concrete improvements in the life of millions or, uh, islam?

I wish I knew how to do some real damage to CAIR. Legal at this point but if all hell breaks out in the future legal or not wont matter to much.

saoirse~ The Jim Crow laws were designed to disenfanchise southern blacks. Here is a link:

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/jimcrow/

I decided to go with a PBS link, as PBS is fairly left-wing so kj can't really object to the content. It is not however the site I originally found, so not sure it will point out that Democrats in the South were the ones who created that situation- not Republicans, as kj & Co. would have us believe.

Voltaire, you are wrong France, Sweden, The Netherlands and Belgium are secular countries and there are very dhirmitude, Spain too is very secular, an there are dhirmitude, USA and Poland are religious and there aren´t dhirmitude, the laicism and seularism isn´t the answer because in Yugoslavia there was communism and the islamism hasn´t be reduced, and other exempples like Russia where the wahabbism is very big, the answer is drinking of our valors and morals and spread in the world because if we, the humans, are the same, we have to have the same valors, the western civilization is the most advanced civilization thanks of Rome, Greece and the judeo-christianism. Thanks

A spanish
