BANGKOK: Unidentified gunmen shot dead two elderly Buddhist men in Thailand's largely Muslim south hours before a trip to the troubled region by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Sunday, police said.A 63-year-old store owner in Narathiwat province's Sukirin district was shot six times in the chest, arm, and hip early Sunday by a gunman posing as a customer, police said.
The killer fled on a motorcycle. The victim died on the way to hospital.
Late on Saturday, unidentified men sprayed a Chinese Buddhist shrine in nearby Yala province.
A Buddhist man, in his sixties, was hit by two bullets and died at the scene.
A global islamic jihad was called for in 2001 , and globally it is now taking place.
Why does everyone think Turkey's trying it's damndest to get into the EU, that would be an epic mistake if allowed to happen.
Just look at the world, look at Europe, not one single country without a substantial muslim population. The USA has even been penetrated by this disease, and is constantly in danger of being attacked. Russia, China, Indonesia, Sudan, Algeria, Nigeria, the balkans, Malaysia,India.
Even the UK are starting to feel the islamic plague, violent attacks by muslims on infidels are taking place all the time, imams and clerics are freely preaching hate on our streets, their population is rising, and still more flood in.
Why can the world not see this, it needs to be looked at on a global scale, and it's there for all to see, obvious, blatant.... it's not clandestine, or hidden, or surreptituous. This filthy plague is out of control and only a select minority can see this happening.
Islam's hiding under the guise of 'religion' and abusing all the freedoms available therein. Won't last for long though coz the world's reaching tipping point. A major attack om a western city could change things forever. As for Turkey in the Eu - tough luck I'd say. Too many formerly communist and formerly liberal countries (count Holland among them now) feel queasy about such an eventuality and expect this unease to only grow in the coming months.
The Thai situation is being handled fairly well by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Thaksin has taken a no-nonsense view of the Muslim separatist movement in the six southern provinces of Thailand, to the point of winding up on "Human Rights" activists bad side. The 'Muslim' problem in South Thailand is being exacerbated by Al Qaeda, but because of fairly close cooperation with the US is relatively under control. Thailand, unlike most middle-Eastern countries, or even Malaysia to the South, is a tolerant and reasonably open society. The world should support Thaksin in his tough policy to keep his country unified.
Are there Bhuddist riots in Malaysia and Indonesia? Are the non-muslim people of the Chittagong Hill Tribes of Bangladesh rioting and making life miserable for these countries? Are the Hindus demanding the caste system and separate legal consideration? Some people you can get along with and some you can't

Not necessarily disagreeing, but have you an example? Haven't seen any lately. I think there was one in Scotland recently. These attacks tend to be reported as being by 'Asians', to disguise them.
I'm fully behind Thailand in its getting tough on the Muslim Pattani Separatists. Thailand's glass ceiling for minorities is pretty high--any member of the Chakkri family who isn't a Theravada Buddhist knows he won't get to be king when the current king (may God grant him have many, many, many more good and healthy years) goes the way of all flesh.
I hope the human rights community notes the way the Jihadis are behaving in Thailand. When rebel groups violate human rights, they're usually far nastier than most governments anywhere to the right of Mao Zedong.

A few weeks ago there was the case of a gang of muslims who battered and stabbed a 17-year old lad to death, there was the case of a woman stabbed by a nutcase clutching the koran, the bastard then got knocked over by a car. I'm sure there are others, I'll look a few up for you. Remeber not all of them are going to make "big column" news, or even national news at all. You have to search the net and look at local newspapers of towns with large or substantial muslim populations. It's pretty discreet in the UK , but trust me it's happening.
