RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) - Saudi King Fahd has ordered the release of all 31 Islamic militants who surrendered to security authorities under a June amnesty, the Interior Ministry said Thursday. The amnesty, which spared the lives of those who turned themselves in, was open to anyone who was wanted but had not been arrested for carrying out terrorist acts."The concerned authorities were assured that the deviants have already rectified their ideology and attitudes toward their nation and society," said the ministry's statement, carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.
I hope so. But I'd like to see what makes the "concerned authorities" so sure.
Is there Anyone here who did not expect this? The Saudis provided them a Great way to regroup, didn't they?

Encouraging. The only thing with which I would quibble is that the moderate intellectuals refer to the issuers of these fatwah as "extremists" when in fact they are the Muslim mainstream. It is the small band of intellectuals who have written this petition who represent the "extreme" viewpoint in the Islamic world.

What about rectifying their ideology and attitudes toward other (non-muslim) nations and societies? Great....so they won't bomb their own countries or societies. What about the rest of us?
