The Turkish-language Hürriyetim reports that Hakki Demir's sentence for killing his mother was reduced from life to twenty years. Why? Because it was an honor killing. Here is the story reported in English for Jihad Watch by Burcu Gezek Harbert:
Another Honor Killing case resolved in Turkey: The 19 year old mother slayer got away with 20 yearsThe Court deems the killing of 33 year old Sakine Demir an honor killing and reduces the 19 year old Hakki Demir’s jail time from life first to 36 years, then to 20 years.
At age 13, Sakine Demir, a native of Mardin Yuksekova, was forced to marry the 42-year-old Eyup Gursel under Islamic law. She left her 15-day-old baby with her husband’s family and ran away after claiming that she was being constantly beaten by her husband. The baby died of starvation.
Sakine married another older man and gave birth to nine more children, two of which were girls. Her husband became bedridden and Sakine started to frequent her relatives in distant parts of Turkey. She traveled to Ankara, Istanbul and Aydin, which led to much gossip. And the 19 year old Hakki found his mother in Kucuk Dikili of Seyhan. The confrontation turned into a big argument and Hakki stabbed his mother 17 times and then slit her throat. He walked out screaming “Don’t come close to me. Call the newspapers.”
Hakki Demir in trial for manslaughter appeared at the Adana court to hear the verdict. He claimed to have killed his mother, Sakine Demir, to clean the family’s honor: “My mom was prostituting in Istanbul. Everyone was talking about her ugly deeds. I decided to clean our honor. I found my mom at my aunt’s in Adana. I found her sleeping and stabbed her in the heart twice. She woke up and tried to scream. I covered her mouth and suffocated her. I stabbed her over and over again. I did it for my family’s honor. I regret it. But I had to do it.”
The court’s decision to sentence him to life time was reduced to first 36 years and then to 20 years of jail time due to the traditional basis of the murder.

Women won't even be able to visit relatives without being killed.
This story, together with the Van Gogh slaying, and the story of the man who stabbed his seven young daughters, and countless other similar tragedies, once again underlines the accuracy of Winston Churchill's observation that Islam 'is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog.'
Oh yes, by all means let Turkey - that country of modern, moderate and 'secularized' muslims - be accepted into the EU!
With the entrance of Turkey into Europe we can truthfully say, "Poor Europe: so far from God, so close to Islam."
This story reads like a horror novel. First Sakine is married off, at 13 years!, to some dirty old bastard who beats her, probably while pregnant and then while nursing. You don't just run off and leave a 15-day old baby on a whim. She must have been going through hell. And at 14 years of age, I think she could be forgiven for panicking. No doubt she had absolutely no support either.
Why her first child starved to death is also bizarre. Don't they have baby formula there? We're only talking 20 years ago. Surely there must have been something they could have done to feed the baby? Or didn't they want to? Is that some sort of Islamic honor thing, to let a child die? Or maybe it's 'haram' to feed from a bottle.
Then she's got to marry some other dirty old bastard and have 9 kids in a fairly short time. With 9 kids then she has to take care of a sick old husband. I'd crack too. I'd run off and try to have a life for a bit too. What a pathetic, miserable existence these women have. And they're not even women yet when they're thrust into this horrid existence.
As for her "son", what a disgusting puke. I hope he gets AIDS in jail and dies a painful, lingering death. The judges too. "Traditional basis of the murder" my arse!
This like many Muslim killings looks exactly like the type of overkill that you can see in sexual homicides. It could be that this kid was taking revenge on his mother because he had no father and she was moving around a lot and it looks like she abandoned him. Of course this is a criminal act of someone who is mentally disturbed...but Islam believes that this behavior is godly. Why is this? Because the religions founder was a psychopath and was able to convince people (billions now) that his psychopathic behavior was from god.

My Local newspaper has a back issue facility I got the edition out for March ? 1897 [yes 1897]

"Mr Russell then proceeded to read several long reports from the British Consuls giving harrowing details of Armenian massacres and atrocities . The first report giving an account of the Sassoun massacres, which commenced in August 1894, stated that altogether 25 villages had been destroyed . The Turkish troops showed themselves in the district saying they were come to protect the villagers. The villagers let them lodge for the night in the villages, and during the night the troops arose and slaughtered all the people men, women and children. In another place a large number of the leading men, headed by their priest, went out to meet the Turkish Commanding officer, taking in their hands the taxes to show proof of their loyalty and begging for mercy. They were surrounded and killed to a man. A number of young men were seized, bound hand and foot and laid out in a row, had brushwood put upon them and were burned alive. The people of another village fled to a secret grotto, where they remained until the weaker died of hunger. The remainder were discovered by Turkish soldiers and put to the bayonet. Sixty young women and girls were driven into a church, then the soldiers were ordered to do with them as they liked and to kill them afterwards, some of the prettier women were invited to accept islam and marry turks ; they refused and were killed. Many of the terrified inhabitants hid themselves in deep wells and when they were discovered the soldiers fire down upon them, and then, getting tired of that means of extermination, saturated matting with kerosene, and ignited it, and threw it down the wells. Ripping open women and tearing children to peices by main force were among the barbarities recorded . A letter from Sir P Currie, the British Ambassador at Constantinople, at a moderate estimate put the total loss of life at 30,000 and stated that the survivors were in a state of shock, and totally destitute. Soon after the perpetration of these outrages, the German Emperor caused his portrait to be to be painted and presented as a complimentary gift to the Sultan (hisses and groans. But the worst was yet to come , and in August last there were 5000 others murdered, not in the outlying districts and villages , but in Constantinople itself, and for that bloddy massacre six of the resident Ambassadors had put their names to declaration that the Sultan himself was responsible (loud hisses)"
