"He said bin Laden was more religious than the rest of the family." Woops! Yeslam, aren't you supposed to say that Osama has twisted and hijacked a great religion of peace? From The Australian, with thanks to Miss Moneypenney:
OSAMA bin Laden's elder half-brother took time out from launching his own perfume to tell of his upset at the al-Qaeda chief's new video."It was upsetting," said Yeslam bin Ladin of the latest message, in which bin Laden warned Americans that they must change their policy toward Muslims to avoid further September 11-style attacks.
"It's the violence," he told Time magazine. "It wasn't a surprise to know that he was still alive.
"I always thought that if he was killed, everybody would know it. It seems that he might have seen the Michael Moore movie Fahrenheit 9/11."
Mr Bin Ladin - who spells his name differently to the al-Qaeda leader - is based in Geneva and has Swiss-Saudi citizenship. He gave the interview in Paris during the launch of a new perfume he has developed.
"I'm not only a bin Laden. I am Yeslam bin Ladin. I have my own identity. It is my perfume, my creation. I was about to do it several years ago, but then I had to stop because of the events of September 11," he said.
"I expect people out of curiosity will try it, and they will find the smell out of this world."
Mr Bin Ladin also spoke of the problems he had suffered since the 2001 attacks on New York and Washington.
"Luckily, when you go out in public, nobody knows who you are. You walk the street like everybody."
Wait a minute. Somebody call Dyab Abou Jahjah and Ibrahim Hooper. I thought Muslims were terrorized on the streets of the West: abused, vilified, even physically attacked. And here is none other than Osama bin Laden's brother walking around without being harmed? Sure, people don't know who he is, but he no doubt has Arab features. Hmmm. Maybe the situation for Muslims in the West is not as bad as these guys make out.
But he added: "I've heard comments when I make reservations. If I am going to have lunch with somebody, the reservations would be in his name."Mr Bin Ladin said they he had been investigated by the Swiss and US authorities after September 11, but no link to extremist activities was found.
He said bin Laden was more religious than the rest of the family.
"He was one of the very few who did not leave Saudi Arabia to study. I don't know him very well. I think I saw him before he left (for Afghanistan in the 1980s), and I haven't seen him since.
"The only memory is that he didn't want music on in the house. He wanted it off. It wasn't 'ethical'. I thought that was weird."
Nothing weird about it at all, Yeslam. Islamic law forbids music except in certain restricted circumstances.
Ahhh, the scent of 72 Virgins. Heavenly!
Bin Ladens bro says.........and they will find the smell out of this world."
Everything good is "out of this world" for islamics. Is anything in this world any good for a muslim? They appear to hate the world and see life here as nothing much more than miserable stepping stone to have to suffer through so they can enter heaven when they die. How sad.
No music for Usama, I guess he's not much of a dancer, huh. His perfumed fancy boy brother even thought that was "weird".
Anyone who does'nt like music has a mental problem and is potentially dangerous. Usama BinLaden is one of these types. Probably was cruel to animals also.
I will say this, however: Yeslam sounds as tho he is well along in being Westernized, if he finds his brother's take on music strange.
I also don't get the idea of 'prejudice' in Switzerland. Anyone have a take on that? It just doesn't seem like a country that would be so.

One of bin Laden's brothers wanted to be a Hollywood actor. I wonder if this is the same guy? Anyways, he seems harmless and not really "Muslim". Not really fair to demonize the guy because of his family name.
PS -- one of bin Laden's nieces is a fashion model and pop singer in London who wears miniskirts and strapless dresses. I think her name is Wafa Bin Laden. If you do a google search you may find a photo of her. She's actually pretty cute. Wonder if her uncle is ever going to have her rubbed out?
Carmen Bin Ladin wrote about her life as a Bin Ladin wife living in Saudi Arabia in her book "Inside the Kingdom." It's a very easy, quick read.
Don't be fooled by Yeslam. He's Saudi muslim male through and through. Yes, he's enjoying the good life and making tons of bucks in Switzerland, even if he is caught up in a nasty divorce case with Carmen.
According to Carmen, their three daughters are a disappointment to Yeslam who essentially has cut off all ties with them. I imagine that Wafa, in her short skirts and exposed life as a fashion model, is as dead to him as dead can be.
I think the commentary on this article truly exposes what Mr. Spencer feels towards not just Jihad but Muslims and Islam in general, antipathy. Okay, so Bin Laden has a brother that wants to launch a perfume. End of Story. Yeslam has been investigated by swiss and american authorites and no links to extremist groups were found. Instead of talking about Yeslam, why doesn't Mr. Spencer talk about Bush's links to the Bin laden family? And there's plenty of them!
"Wait a minute. Hmmm. Well sorry, he doesn't wear a sign on his chest that says "I'm Osama Bin Ladens Brother." Many Arabs and Muslims, and people who are perceived as Arabs are victimized. It does happen, and that's the truth. But the majority of Americans and westerners aren't yee-haw rednecks, they're nice people. Why not post a genuine article that actually deals with Jihad instead of just trying to smear everyone in the Bin Laden family, which is pretty big ya know. Did Yeslam come out and say "praise Allah for 9-11! Death to America!" Don't give us commentary on Bin ladens brother launching a perfume, hate crimes, or the prohibition of musical instruments in Islam. The sites name is jihadwatch, so stick to talking about jihad.
P.S. Catherine, you're probably the most cold-hearted person on this forum. You show nothing but downright racism and hatred. I can smell your soul rotting all the way from my computer. You defame christians and jesus's noble teachings. I especially am shocked when you write things like how 40,000 innocents were killed in an earthquake in iran but none were killed in california. It really exposes how evil you are.
I see one of our trolls is back.
Gary, me a troll, for pointing out the obvious? Okay you can call me a nut and a conspiracy theorist and whateva else comes to mind. or accuse me of wanting to aid jihadists or being on the radical left.
From the grand mufti of Jihadwatch himself.
"I am only calling attention to the roots and goals of radical Islam."

I suppose if Yeslam is going to use his perfume to gas everyone to death in switzerland then you might have a good reason to put this article up.
Instead of launching a perfume, the truth is that his faggy bro should help authorities catch his evil sibling. If he does'nt help he should be sent to prison along ith the rest of the Bin Ladens. A deterrent must be instigated. These killers need to know that their loved ones will suffer the conseqences of their actions.
It may be true that this particular Bin Laden does not share his brother's views, though Carmen Bin Laden's book makes clear that many in the family were proud of their ascetic, religious sibling.
But Robert Spencer is making a point. All over the world Muslims are engaged in attacks on non-Muslims. All Americans have been declared, on more than one occasion, suitable targets. Western Europe was offered a hudna, a truce which is and can only be, temporary. Yet Muslims and Arabs have not been subject to attacks on the streets (the only people killed in the U.S. have been Jews murdered by Muslims, and a single Sikh; no Muslims); in fact, they are permitted to travel and to settle still. This state of affairs is being pointed out since CAIR and other Muslim organizations have made a point of emphasizing, falsely, their victimization.
Of course, there are good reasons why the Western world should reconsider its foolish tolerance of those who do not believe in pluralism, cannot possibly owe their loyalty to the Infidel nation-state, and have already created a situation where the lives of all Infidels, the indigenous inhabitants of the Bilad al-kufr, must endure lives that are far more expensive, inconvenient, unpleasant, and dangerous than they would otherwise be -- and in direct proportion to the numbers, and percentage, of Muslims in the general population. No one, not a single Infidel inhabitant of Euroope, can deny that state of affairs, and almost none would deny that if they could do it all over again, they would keep out Muslim migrants as best they could. Now they are wrestling with the consequences, and still cannot bring themselves to enact the measures necessary to defend themselves and their own civilizations while they still possess the power to do so.
truthseeker,
it is not the perfume launch that is presented here as an act of jihad. mr Spencer pays attention to the fact that Osama bin Laden is perceived by one of his 24 brothers as "more religious than the rest of the family". We are constantly being told that terrorists are not "really" religious Muslims, and here is a perfect example that the most pious ones are also the most violent.
Also Carmen bin Ladin in her book pays attention to the extreme piousness of her brother-in-law Osama. He would't even look at her with her face uncovered, and he would rather let his baby suffer in thirst than accept "sinful" bottle-feeding (btw, the fact that his wife needed his permission to bottle-feed the baby although he wasn't around tells enough about Islamic gender practices to make any normal person to feel antipathy toward the cult).
Indeed, we wouldn't get to know much about "the roots and goals of radical Islam" if we only read about the explosions and beheadings (they reach the mainstream news, too), but not about the nature of the religion that breeds the likes of OBL.
Nine Stories:
1. "Jihad”
If you don't know what it means, or want to pretend you don't, like John Esposito or Rashid Khalidi or Norman Lamont or Dwight Bollinger or 99% of the Infidel world, the word can sound delightfully exotic:
"Jihad."
Because love is a kind of war.
And it can go on --- forever.
2. and 3. "Sheik of Araby" or "Valentino" in case we are dealing with a men's cologne.
4. "Saladin."
For either a male or female companion.
Evokes a man's man, who will sweep you up in his big, brawny, Crusader-killing arms, yet never forget to observe the rules of chivalry which the original Saladin taught the Christian Richard II all about, according to Sir Walter Scott, and he wouldn't make things up.
6. "Cordoba."
A scent for women of the three abrahamic faiths.
What is the secret of "Cordoba"?
Perhaps it is that hint of orange-blossom, recalling hot nights in southern Spain, and that famous conviviencia sung by the perfume's official spokeswoman, Maria Rosa Menocal. And if, in the ads, we put a picture of the Alhambra, even though it is in Grenada, few will be the wiser.
Or if you don't like "Cordoba" perhaps even more evocative (and you might pick up Hispanic shoppers):
7. "Andaluz." Ditto on the convivencia, the use of Menocal, the pictures of the Alhambra.
8. "Dialogue"
What the world needs now is not love, sweet love, but "dialogue." And what better way to show there are no hard feelings and that the sins of the brother will not be visited upon the heads of the other 57 brothers, etc. than for Infidels to go out and buy a bottle of Bin Laden's "Dialogue." And it's just the thing to give your Infidel sweetie to help make him (or less importantly, her) "revert" to the one true faith.
9. "Ka'aba"
Heavy on the Keatsian synesthesia here:
What is Ka'aba?
Black, mysterious, unyielding to the touch. Where did it come from? What does it mean?
No one knows.
Ka'aba.
By Yeslam.
I left out #5. Mathematics is not my strong suit.
Truthseeker-
As Scandie has noted, the point of posting this article, which is obviously lost on you, is to provide a glimpse into the life of the world's pre-eminent jihadist. It is no different than the underlying interest people have shown in Carmen bin Ladin's book.
Secondly, where does Mr. Spencer smear the bin Laden's in this post? It appears you are the one guilty of libel here.
Thirdly, the taqiya of people such as Ibrahim Hooper regarding the treatment of Muslims in the United States is indeed a topic that is relevant to this forum.
Spare us YOUR antipathy. It is obvious you are unqualified to comment on what is relevant subject matter here, much less the character of anyone who posts in these threads.
Guys:
You probably don't remember since it's been awhile, but "truthseeker" is a muslim.
A matter-of-fact, straight forward article, I found no smearing of anyone in this article. It is Yeslam appears to be distressed that Osama is violent. I'll give him that. Yet, many Muslims talk out of both sides of their mouths, openly telling Westerners one thing while telling their Muslim brothers quite the opposite. Thus, words mean nothing. Unfortunately only actions can be judged. I will take a wait and see attitude.
"Yet Muslims and Arabs have not been subject to attacks on the streets (the only people killed in the U.S. have been Jews murdered by Muslims, and a single Sikh; no Muslims);"
I know crap when I smell it. You wouldn't happen to know who congressman Rush Holt is do ya? Well he wrote a bill in the memory of a a pakistani muslim named Waqar Hassan who was MURDERED because he looked like dem people on TV.
“I did it to retaliate on local Arab Americans or whatever you want to call them,”
check it out for yourself.

Secondly just because somebody isn't killed doesn't mean that they're not victims of hate crimes. They can include vandalism, verbal and physical assault, job termination, etc.
"it is not the perfume launch that is presented here as an act of jihad. mr Spencer pays attention to the fact that Osama bin Laden is perceived by one of his 24 brothers as "more religious than the rest of the family"."
yea right! There are tons of muslims who are really religious and dont listen to music that don't support 9-11. Do you think that he's the only Bin Laden that doesn't listen to music or the only Saudi? According to Catherine, we'd probably just kill every saudi. If an earthquake can't do it, why not f-15s! right, catherine?
On a side note, It's kinda odd how these 19 hijackers, seven who have turned up alive and well, were seen at strip clubs getting drunk, fornicating with girls, doing drugs. Talk about being pious and devout! And then they're able to fly jumbo jets with perfect precision and timing! It's also interesting how 3 were trained at the Pensacola naval air station. They must've told Norad to stand down too!

so you do not like the book of the mulsums and what it says?
http://www.beecy.net/frank/
Qur’an 74:31 “We have appointed nineteen angels to be the wardens of the Hell Fire. We made a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve and We have fixed their number as a trial for unbelievers in order that the people of the Book may arrive with certainty, and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Book, those in whose hearts is a disease. And for those to whom the Scripture Book has been given, and the believers, there should be no doubt. The unbelievers may say, ‘What does the Lord intend by this?’ The Lord will lead astray whomever He pleases, and He will guide whomever He pleases: and none can know the armies of your Lord except He, and this is no other than a warning to mankind.”
This can be broken by Yes it is the Army of the people of the Book who he has chosen to Free [USA] the Iraqi people as it says
He will guide whomever He pleases: and none can know the armies of your Lord except He, and this is no other than a warning to mankind.”
Yes he has chosen the USA!!
And let’s look at another part?
The Lord will lead astray whomever He pleases,
Ubl,saddam, zawari, all who Kill and destroy mankind?
There will be no more warnings?
Earthquake in Iran kills 30,000 who harbors ubls son and wife’s??

Looks like you've been spending a little too much time surfing the whack-job conspiracy sites again.
BTW, there's nothing "odd" at all about Muslims hanging out in strip clubs when they come to the US. It's pretty much standard operating procedure for them, from what I've seen.
They must've told Norad to stand down too!

Sinatra was excellent. That tune was finger snapping cool. Great song! 5 stars!
They hang out in strip clubs then go back to their little sleaze apartments and queer off with each other. Opps, can I say this?
A poster above objects, at a site called Jihadwatch, to learning of anything other than Jihad itself. "Don't gove us commentary on the launching by Bin Laden's brother of perfumes, hate crimes, or the prohibition of musical instruments in Islam."
This misses the point. Everything about Islam, including the fact that it is a totalitarian system, involving the complete Regulation of Everything, is relevant to understanding Islam --Jihad and dhimmitude.
In this regard, understanding that Muhammad "that best of men" married Aisha when she was 6, and had sexual intercourse with her when she was 9, may appear to the complainer above not to be relevant, but it is most relevant. It gives Infidels an understanding of what they are dealing with -- a system that sets up the behavior of a supposed (since we are not required to believe in the facts of Muhammad's existence as given, or even in his existence) -- a system that sets up the Sunnah -- the customs, the way of life, everything -- of Muhammad as the model for all time, and to be taken as such by Believers.
The reason for mentioning the prohibition on music, or on sculpture, or on painting is because this, too, is part of what Jihad-conquest would mean for those lands and peoples that were conquered -- even if the conquest comes about through Da'wa (the Call to Islam) and the workings-out of demographic trends, including the deliberate overbreeding, for Jihad purposes, by Muslims.
And mention of all of these prohibitions, about which many Infidels are unaware, help to give a rounded and complete picture of Islam, which they need in order to comprehend, with full force, the awfulness of it all.
Finally, the same complainer labors under the delusion that the people who rant about Islam are "rednecks" and so on. Why does he think this? The people who have the most to lose under the horror of Islamic rule -- see what has happened in the Islamic Republic of Iran -- are those who know what that would mean for art, science, and freedom of thought, not those whose primary opposition is based on unthinking enmity toward those who represent a physical threat -- though there is nothing wrong with that perfectly justifiable reaction.
What is perverse, what is strange, is the phenomenon of those who, while not Muslm themselves, bend over backwards to construct false exculpatory analogies ("we all do it"), or who pooh-pooh the nature of Islam by assigning blame, if no longer to a "handful of extremists," than to the Wahhabis, or some other identifiable current within Islam. Nonsense.
This is not a war of civilizations, but of Islam against civilization. Those who have some conception of what the slow achievements of individuals over time who have contributed, one by one, their mite or their mighty mite, to the development of civilizaton (and there are always setbacks, throwbacks, reverses), are the ones most likely to to be most alarmed at the novel threat presented by the belief-system of Islam, one whose adherents are calmly exploiting the very tolerance and innocence of their intended victims.
Once again Hugh gets a gold star!! LOL!!

I wouldn`t buy his perfume,at gun point.
Dear Hugh
I have been a lurker here for some time and would just like to say that I read every one of your posts and they are superb. I used to be of the political left but events of the last few years have made me realize the threat we face. Five years ago I would have been one of those people jumping up and down screaming "bigotry" at Robert Spencer, but now, I see things differently.
The slaughter of Theo Van Gogh, the grand-nephew of Vincent, bears out every single point you make as to how Islamist doctrine threatens the very core of our great liberal democratic civilization. Art, science, freedom of thought, all being attacked physically and intellectually by a pernicious belief system that is effectively protected by the left who claim to stand for the liberal and the democrat. Today is a black day for the West. The dead body of Theo Van Gogh lying on a pavement in Amsterdam is a symbol of what our future will be if we do not challenge this belief system rigorously.
Theo Van Gogh should be elevated as a MARTYR for FREEDOM. Every movement knows the strength of a martyr. We have found ours. He should become a symbol of our struggle against this theocratic fascism. May his soul Rest in Peace.
Keep posting Hugh. You inspire us and give us strength.
