HOW odd that a Christian pastor has been found guilty of vilifying Islam after quoting the Koran.Is this really what Premier Steve Bracks intended with his absurd racial and religious vilification law?
Pastor Daniel Scot and Pastor Danny Nalliah were last week found to have committed religious vilification after the first trial under this new law.Judge Michael Higgins found Scot offended by quoting the Koran in a way that got "a response from the audience at various times in the form of laughter".
Yes, Scot made his audience of 250 Christians laugh at Islam. He didn't inspire them to burn a mosque, shout insults at Muslims, plant bombs or paint nasty slogans on fences.
He just made the audience laugh. And that in Victoria is now a crime.
But that's not the only absurdity in a case that has so far cost these two pastors more than $200,000 in costs.
The absurdities start with the excuse the Premier gave in 2001 for imposing this law, threatening us with six months' jail and $6000 fines.
"Victorians take considerable pride in the fact that people from . . . diverse backgrounds live together harmoniously in our community," he told Parliament.
Yet even though we got on well, we now had to limit our free speech -- despite Bracks conceding "freedom of expression is crucial to our democratic society".
Publicly saying hurtful things about a race or religion would now be illegal.
Fear not, Bracks soothed. This law was "confined to prohibit only the most noxious forms of conduct", and would "promote racial and religious tolerance".
But it wasn't and hasn't.
With a new law to play with, it was inevitable activists would try to use it.

The judge cited 13 statements that Mr. Scot made in his seminars that the judge considered vilifying of Islam. The news reporter quotes just a few of them. Does anyone know where to find all 13?
This is serious.
Bracks needs a kick where it hurts and this idiotic 'law' must be revoked.

This kind of garbage cannot be tolerated anymore. We have to give our politicians a kick in the rear end. We have to be as organized, intense, merciless and self-sacrificing as our Muslim opposition. Otherwise, our countries will be taken away from us. We will find ourselves, like the Dutch, in less than a lifetime, waking up to find that their country is no longer Dutch but Muslim and that their only hope is immigration. I too find the recurring theme of a "moderate" muslim suddenly going "mad", not a co-incidence anymore. On top of the incidents you refer to, there was the Egyptian in LA, a peaceful and religious man according to neighbours, who suddenly went "mad" and gunned down the staff at the ElAl counter. Then there was the egyptian soldier, who suddenly went "mad" and killed a number of Israeli tourists. There was also the Jordanian soldier who suddenly went "mad" and killed a number of school girls at the Israeli-Jordan border. In each case the authorities were adament in sticking to the "mad" man theory. The Western press and politicians accepted this theory as fact, as the alternative was too politically dangerous.
I hear that in Australia, a "man" has taken a number of hostages and has explosives with him. No further news on the identity or cultural association of the "man" so far.
Here in the UK, the police are adament that the man who killed and stabbed several people, has a history of mental illness. Yes he has - it is known as the madness of islam.

Regarding this new law in Australia: it seems it could easily be used to outlaw Islam if implemented honestly and intelligently. Islam has (bogusly) set itself up as the ONLY religion and targets all other religions and all their followers for destruction (and agnostics and atheists too!). Who or what will save them from this horror? (Clearly not the Australian government...)
Furthermore, the koran specifically refers to Christians and Jews as descendants of apes and pigs. Read it for yourself.
Worse, Islam permits what we perceive as violent and hateful acts against and killings of non-muslims. THIS constitutes hate against religions under current hate crime statutes in the west. But all this is mysteriously being overlooked by this new Australian law.
SO it is incumbent upon us to ask WHY are Australians NOT BEING Protected from Islam by this law? Unless this law was intended as a trojan horse set up to destroy democratic freedoms of speech in Australia (by Islam). Which obviously would make this law unconstitutional under Australian law. Was this law designed to straitjacket Australians as Islam destroys Australian insitiutions and replaces them with Islam...
How many Muslims are currently holding offices in Australia?? This is an extremely troubling development as Islam is likely setting up Australians for genocide in some clandestine and sinister scheme we have yet to uncover. Aussies, watch your backs--- someone is targeting them with a dagger...
pythagoras - this law is not Australia-wide, it is in Victoria, which is a state. Hopefully, Victorians will vote this government out in the next election.
To my knowledge, there are no Muslims currently holding office in Australia (do any Aussie posters know of any?).
Most Australians are against continuing Muslim immigration. Thanks to PM John Howard's tough policies, the illegal immigration of Muslims has been stopped.

We must have some in council or dhimmi councellers suckign for votes in dense muslim suburbs, xmas is serverly cancelled, in public areas and schools in certain suburbs, this morning there was debate about it on telly thank god.
Terminator, I tried to have a hand-out ready to print so we could take it to the public. I haven't succeeded so far. It's all gone pear-shaped today. I'm expecting better results soon.

I hope you think, as I do, that Aussies are in a golden position to hit back at last. It's true that most geezers down under won't see this as a problem as serious as a losing football team, and they might not rush into the streets to protest like they would the rise in the price of beer, but the attack on Aussie freedom has to strike a number of you folks as more than you should take. I see this case as a great chance to mobilize a united resistence in your own homeland. I think the hand-outs will make their way around the pubs till they become a topic of conversation, if they're well-done. I can write Ox-bridge till the world rights itself but Oz is more than I can do well. You folks are in a prime positon with this issue to make an issue of it.

As the word gets out more will come here, unfortunately, some of them trolls and groupies, but that's reality. I fwe score 99 out of 100, that's success. And I think with the court case you have going, you're in a better position to recruit than most others.
