This 'court' is not a normal one, so far as I know, this case must be referred to a normal court of law, at which time, the verdict should be overturned.
Apart from the distress caused to the pastors and others involved, this is a good thing. It publicises the true face of Islam - many Australians, especially those who live in rural areas, are unaware of the threat posed by Islamic fanatics. Those of us who live in the major cities are only too well aware.
Well I just plowed through the witness testimony and haven't found anything that Pastor Scot said that is not true. If this case establishes precedence, Australia is in deep, deep yoghurt. Free discussion of the insidious truth of Islam will be a crime. This law will kill free speech and will enslave the Australian people. This case has no doubt already caused a winter chill to descend on free thinkers throughout Australia, so much damage is fait accompli.

I may have missed the discussion, but isn't the Philadelphia incident almost exactly like the incident in Australia, other than the offended party is gay instead of muslim and they were quoting from the Bible instead of the Koran? Apparently, Philadelphia has passed hate speech laws.
The results of this case would appear at first glance to have a major impact on the effort to expose Islam. Does anyone know if this case has merit?

When they're enacted, every time a high school teacher assigns a reading from George Bernard Shaw or Margaret Attwood, or a college professor assigns Marx, or an imam says we changed the Scriptures, we will bring suit. I'd urge wealthy Christians to band together to fund an organization specifically for the the sake of hiring researchers to find examples of anti-Christian bigorty or teaching and lawyers who will use hate-speech laws to go after Muslims, leftists, feminists, and gay activists. After all, they've made no secret that they hate us; and lie through their teeth every time they say they disagree with what we say but will fight to the death for our right to say it. Maybe they need a taste of their own medicine.

Even thinking about this is enough to give me a nose bleed. What a sad day for Australia. If they had said "go out and burn a Muslim family", I would understand a little, but they simply quoted from the Koran. This is a major attack on freedom of speech. It's huge.
Reprehensible, scandalous, vile, wicked, dastardly.... what can you say? Words are not enough somehow. Something has to be done about this Muslim tyranny. They ban all debate about Islam in their own countries, then they come here and now they ban it in ours. Bastards!
