From AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
CAIRO, Egypt - In an audiotape received by Al-Jazeera satellite television, a man purported to be Osama bin Laden endorsed Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi as his deputy in Iraq and called for a boycott of next month's elections there.Al-Jazeera quoted the tape in a news summary Monday but had not broadcast the recording.
Al-Zarqawi, a Jordanian, leads a group called al-Qaida in Iraq, which is responsible for numerous car bombings and beheadings of foreign hostages in Iraq. The United States has placed a $25 million bounty on both bin Laden and al-Zarqawi.
Iraqis are scheduled to elect a 275-member National Assembly on Jan. 30. There have been calls to postpone the election because of the ongoing insurgency, but President Bush has insisted the vote be held as scheduled.
NOW AINT THAT NICE??

A Possible Geopolitical Future
Arnaud de Borchgrave
Friday, Dec. 17, 2004
The world can now count on one geopolitical earthquake every 10 years. Between 1985 and 1995, it was the fall of the Berlin Wall, the implosion of the Soviet Union, the collapse of communist parties the world over, and America's emergence as the world's only superpower.
Between 1995 and 2005, it was the September 11, 2001, attacks against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon that triggered a war on, and the defeat of, Afghanistan's despotic Taliban regime followed by a war on, and the defeat of, Saddam Hussein's bloody tyranny.
So, between 2005 and 2015, what's on the global menu?
Movers and shakers as well as long-range thinkers and planners meet in a wide variety of intelligence and think-tank huddles. These over-the-horizon, out-of-the-box appraisals range from good news scenarios (the minority) to the kind of global unraveling funk whose only antidote would be a desert island.
Behind all the geopolitical jargon about the "functioning core of globalization," "system perturbations" and "dialectics of transformation," there is the underlying fear of a Vietnamlike debacle in Iraq that would drive the U.S. into isolationism — a sort of globalization in reverse.
Among the most interesting and optimistic librettos in the game of nations is peace in the Middle East made possible by a deal with Iran. Keeping this kind of negotiation with the ayatollahs secret in the age of the Internet and 4 million bloggers taxes credulity. It would also take a Henry Kissinger or a Zbigniew Brzezinski to pull it off. However, if successful, it would look something like this:
• A nuclear Iran removed from the "axis of evil," and recognized as the principal player in the region, is the quid.
• For the quo, Iran recognizes Israel and the two-state solution of a "viable" Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza.
• Iran ends all support for terrorist activities against Israel. Iran-supplied and -funded Hezbollah disarms and confines its activities to the political and economic arena in Lebanon.
In reality, Iran is automatically the region's dominant power after U.S. armed forces withdraw from Iraq. The Shi'ite side of Islam, long the persecuted majority in Iraq, will emerge victorious in forthcoming free national elections. A minimum of 1 million Iranians have moved into Iraq since Operation Iraqi Freedom 2 1/2 years ago. The Iran-Iraq border is porous, mountainous, largely unguarded and no one has even an approximate count. The Jordanian intelligence service believes the Iranian influx into Iraq could be as high as 3 million.
In Syria, the Alawi regime, in power since 1970, is also a Shi'ite sect of Islam. In Lebanese politics, the Hezbollah Party is a Shi'ite movement. The oil fields of Saudi Arabia are in the kingdom's eastern province, where Shi'ites are the majority – and Iran is a hop, skip and jump away.
One all-too-realistic geopolitical nightmare was a weapon of mass destruction terrorist attack on the U.S. West Coast. A nuclear device detonates in a container ship about to enter Long Beach, Calif. News had just broken about pollution of the U.S. food supply, most analysts assumed by transnational terrorism. The U.S. can prevail conventionally anywhere but seems helpless in coping with asymmetrical warfare.
In quick succession:
• The dollar ceases to be the world's reserve currency.
• The shaky coalition governing Iraq collapses and civil war breaks out between Sunnis and Shi'ites.
• Fear of the unknown produces a new consensus in the U.S. that global civilization is no longer America's business.
• The U.S. debate shifts to adequate city perimeter defenses.
• With the U.S. no longer the global cop, the defense budget of almost half a trillion dollars can be drastically pruned and savings transferred to homeland security.
• U.S. client states are informed they are on their own. Congress abolishes global aid.
• Egypt loses its annual stipend of $2.5 billion; Taiwan and Israel are told they must fend for themselves.
• Social trust becomes the new glue of society – bonding with like-minded neighbors with shared values.
• International coalitions dissolve and new ones emerge. China seizes new opportunities for its short- and long-range needs for raw materials in the developing world – from Brazil to sub-Saharan Africa's pockets of mineral wealth.
• The United States, Canada and Mexico form a new stand-alone alliance with Britain.
• Turkey, Israel and Iran become a new self-protection core against dysfunctional neighbors with no upward mobility.
• The European Union and Russia, in continuing decline, close ranks; EU inherits de facto responsibility for Africa south of the Sahara, plagued by genocidal wars and the AIDS epidemic.
• China and India, with one-third of the world's population and competitive with Western countries in high-tech jobs and technology, form a de facto alliance.
• Pakistan's pro-American President Pervez Musharraf does not survive the ninth assassination plot; an Islamist general takes over and appoints A.Q. Khan, former chief executive of an international nuclear black market for the benefit of America's "axis of evil" enemies, as Pakistan's new president.
• The House of Saud is shaken to its foundations as a clutch of younger royal princes, who have served in the armed forces, arrest the plus-70-year-olds now in charge – known as the Sudairi seven – and call for the kingdom's first elections.
• Osama bin Laden returns to Saudi Arabia and is welcomed as a national hero. Bin Laden scores an overwhelming plurality in the elections and is the country's most popular leader.
• A.Q. Khan sends bin Laden his congratulations and dispatches to Riyadh his new defense minister, Gen. Hamid Gul, a former intelligence chief and admirer of the world's most wanted terrorist, who hates America with a passion. His mission is to negotiate a caliphate merging Pakistan's nuclear weapons with Saudi oil resources and monetary reserves.
• Northern Nigeria petitions Islamabad and Riyadh to be considered as a member of the caliphate.
• Absent the longtime global cop and with traditional alliances in shambles, transnational criminal enterprises thrive, with unfettered access the world over.
• U.S. multinational companies, unable to protect their plants and employees, return whence they came.
• International airlines morph back into interregional air links.
• Switzerland, a small defensive country with compulsory military service, is in vogue again; larger countries with several ethnic groups begin breaking apart a la Yugoslavia.
• Goods stamped "Made in China. Secured in Singapore" are back in business, smuggled into the United States.
• The EU can no longer cope with millions of North Africans and sub-Sahara Africans flooding into Spain, Italy, France, who roam freely and hungry in the rest of Europe. Islamist radicals sally out of their European slum tenements to besiege U.S. Embassies in protest of their jobless plight.
• Japan goes nuclear after U.S. troops withdraw from South Korea.
A slight detour from this global ship o' fools imaginary cruise had Pakistan and India, no longer restrained by the United States, miscalculating and exchanging a nuclear salvo over Kashmir. A billion Indians survive. A city disappears, Islamabad. Pakistan, part of India prior to independence in 1947, collapses as a unitary state and becomes part of India again.
To be warned is forewarned. Short of WMD terrorism, the intelligence insiders are concerned about implosions in the former Soviet Muslim republics. They also say there is no more important objective for the Bush administration than repairing transatlantic relations. Chris Patten, the EU's outgoing foreign minister, says, "The world deserves better than testosterone on one side and superciliousness on the other."

Pakistan's Most Dangerous Man
Arnaud de Borchgrave
Friday, Dec. 3, 2004
"The leadership vacuum created by the sad demise of [Palestinian] President Arafat can only be filled by Osama bin Laden and [Taliban leader] Mullah [Mohammad] Omar, the real leaders that are the only dedicated individuals with the mass support of the Muslim world," said the front-page statement in Pakistan's mass circulation, Urdu-language newspaper Nawa-e-Waqt.
The author was none other than Gen. Hamid Gul, the notorious former head of Pakistan's intelligence service (ISI), perennial agitproper and America-hater, who is "strategic adviser" to the six-party coalition of politico-religious extremists known as MMA. In a subsequent Nov. 19 interview in the same newspaper, Gen. Gul flayed U.S. foreign policy now in the hands of "warrior princess" Condi Rice. He said: "The U.S. has created the dilemma of the sociopolitical and economic collapse in Pakistan. Now with Rice's appointment, the U.S. will influence and control Pakistan's nuclear program, which is our only remaining strength, through which the right nuclear balance in the region [with India] is maintained."
MMA plans nationwide protests this week against President Pervez Musharraf's military offensive in the federally administered tribal areas (FATA) to find Osama bin Laden. Presumably to pre-empt the extremist demonstrations, Mr. Musharraf announced military operations in FATA were now completed and the army was satisfied bin Laden was not hiding somewhere in the 2,500-kilometer-long Afghan-Pakistan frontier region.
The unmarked border snakes through rugged mountains and remote plains, and with less than 10,000 troops engaged in the search, and the first snowfalls of winter, finding the proverbial needle in a haystack would have been easier.
If anyone knows bin Laden's whereabouts, it would be Gen. Gul. An internal CIA assessment describes Gen. Gul as Pakistan's "most dangerous man." The general doesn't hide his admiration for bin Laden and is a personal friend of Mullah Omar. Bin Laden and Gen. Gul share a geopolitical vision that merges Pakistan's nuclear arsenal and the oil riches of a post-monarchy Saudi Arabia in a revived Muslim caliphate.
Earlier this year, Gen. Gul told a closed meeting of MMA leaders at a wake for the wife of the coalition's vice president Sami ul-Haq, they should begin planning Mr. Musharraf's succession. Gen. Gul's candidate: Abdel Qader Khan, father of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal and, opinion surveys say, the country's most popular man since Ali Jinnah, founder of the republic.
"Musharraf and the new Prime Minister Aziz are just the informers and not the real leaders of Pakistan as they were not elected by the people," Gen. Gul said in a recent interview that called for "elected and brave only" leaders. Mr. Musharraf has survived eight assassination plots.
Gen. Gul's candidate is the same Mr. Khan who confessed to running the world's first international black market for nuclear materials and bomb-making wherewithal. His clients were Iran, North Korea — two of the three members of President Bush's axis of evil (the third was Iraq) — and Libya (now on probation in reform school).
Mr. Khan first began catering to the Iranian ayatollahs' nuclear yearnings in February 1986. At that time, the secret program was split up and compartmentalized into raw materials, uranium enrichment, plutonium reprocessing, technology procurement and weapons design.
In the 1980s, there was no yarn about the need for nuclear power to cover nuclear weapons goals. Iranian Majlis speaker Hashemi Rafsanjani said in an address to Pasdaran officers, rebroadcast on Oct. 6, 1988, "We should fully equip ourselves both in the offensive and defensive use of chemical, bacteriological and radiological weapons." The $800 million deal with Russia for nuclear reactors at Busheir was a convenient smoke screen for the different phases of the nuclear weapons program scattered in the rest of the country.
Negotiations between Europe's Big Three and Iran, and IAEA and Iran, are pure cat-and-mouse charades. Iran is already trying to fit a WMD warhead to a long-range missile. And IAEA lacks authority to scour the country for nuclear weapons.
After burrowing their way into the club courtesy of Pakistan's nuclear Daddy Warbucks, Iran and North Korea are now the world's ninth and 10th nuclear powers. The fiercely anti-American Mr. Khan also sent two nuclear engineers to Afghanistan before September 11, 2001, to confer with Mullah Omar (on an agricultural project, Pakistan lamely explained when the news leaked). Gen. Gul was also in Afghanistan for two weeks immediately prior to September 11.
Mr. Musharraf granted A.Q. Khan a full pardon. He was allowed to keep his lucre stashed in foreign banks. Mr. Musharraf realized bringing such a national icon to trial would have triggered nationwide riots.
Worse than riots, A.Q.K.'s handiwork may well precipitate a wider regional conflict. Both Israel and the United States have said a nuclear Iran is unacceptable. Iran, on the other hand, sees itself bracketed between two countries now occupied by the U.S. — 20,000 U.S. troops to the east in Afghanistan and 135,000 to the west in Iraq. Again, seen from Tehran, Iran is surrounded by half the world's nuclear powers — Russia, Israel, Pakistan and India.
So Iran has legitimate security concerns. And the fear of U.S. armed forces on its flanks has strengthened the grip of hard-liner ayatollahs.
Before Operation Iraqi Freedom, some prominent neoconservatives advocated hitting Iran first, not Iraq. They argued, as the Iraqi hawks did about Baghdad, that countless millions were anxiously waiting to be liberated. For the U.S. to take on Iran and its 70 million people without a clear casus belli would make Iraq look like a walk in the park. The inevitable strategic debacle would topple Pakistan's President Musharraf and bring about Gen. Gul's vision of a nuclear caliphate.
The U.S. Defense Science Board in a 111-page report this week found U.S. credibility among Muslims is down to zero and urged policymakers to spend more time "listening" to their intended audience and use messages that "seek to reduce, not increase, perceptions of arrogance, opportunism and double standards."
At the same time, another U.S. survey showed anti-American prejudice and hostility in Europe far exceeding those during the Vietnam War. Today, every large European country has a Muslim minority of several million. A preemptive U.S. attack on Iran would only worsen matters for the Bush administration and governments still backing the U.S. in Iraq. We would likely be on the receiving end of a paroxysm of global rage — and Osama bin Laden, as Hamid Gul suggested, anointed the Muslim world's Jihadi-in-Chief.
Unencumbered by image problems in Europe and the Muslim world, where it has long been seen as the villain, Israel is ready and able to seriously disrupt Iran's nuclear buildup, much the way it killed Saddam Hussein's reactor at Osirak before it went critical in 1981. Israel won't wait for a wink and a nod from the White House before acting. But the U.S. will be blamed anyway.

Qur’an 74:31 “We have appointed nineteen angels to be the wardens of the Hell Fire. We made a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve and We have fixed their number as a trial for unbelievers in order that the people of the Book may arrive with certainty, and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Book, those in whose hearts is a disease. And for those to whom the Scripture Book has been given, and the believers, there should be no doubt. The unbelievers may say, ‘What does the Lord intend by this?’ The Lord will lead astray whomever He pleases, and He will guide whomever He pleases: and none can know the armies of your Lord except He, and this is no other than a warning to mankind.”

Swarms of pink locusts swept through the Egyptian capital on Wednesday, evoking the biblical description of the plagues which struck in the time of Moses.
The swarms of millions flew high above tall towers or swooped down onto treelined streets, where scared pedestrians stamped
on them or ran for cover.
The flying insects arrived from neighboring Libya after devouring the countryside in central and western Africa in past months.

The big picture here people is about the islamic threat and lets wonder why OBL has chosen yet again to communicate via "Audio".
Right; what does this mean?
Well let me tell you that he is most probably in Iran as some what identified in the last video message he sent out.
I personally enjoy the posts by Catherine? The Great and they are definitely factual and informative as well as every one who posts something lengthy because they are trying to keep all of us HERE informed of information they have come across or they may have wrote a poem with heart felt grace to express their love of freedom and as for me I will keeep reading and posting while enjoying every one else's posts as well.

Another spiel from Man who would be King [Sultan] of the new Caliphate!Would like to think a Democracy COULD be established in Iraq but this ain't gonna' happen I'm afraid. It would have been better to have gone into the Sudan [plenty of oil there] and toppled that rotten lot in Khartoum and SAVED millions of Black African lives. At least Aghans seem grateful and are trying Democracy not so in Iraq. Reckon Sudanese ,especially Christians would have been very grateful for help. Admire U.S dynamic hands on attitude but their foreign policy is a mess, mainly through helping to keep rotten House of Saud afloat.
Catherine, if your posts didn't take up acres of screen real estate, I would skip them. But no, you have to do things your way, and as a result, we all have to wade through your crap to get to the next comment, whether we want to read it or not.
As I said, you are simply rude to your fellow posters.
OFF TOPIC:
Did anyone catch the bit posted by MEMRI on Christmas Eve, where our nominal Saudi allies accused us of illegally harvesting Iraqi organs?
I touched on it briefly, but I'm amazed that story didn't get wider coverage.
Bin Laden must be captured and soon. Remember whats his name..., John Kerry had a plan to give Iran nuclear fuel and his kookie wife said she expected OBL to be caught before the election?
Well Bin Laden is apparantly alive and kickin'and blabbing in a manner that would have infuriated Saddam. So my guess is that the US is attempting to zero in on him soon. Lets hope he is caught just to satisfy justice and to hell with those who say it would be a meaningless effort because he is no longer in control. I say the psychological impact his every utterance has is reason enough to clip him with extreme prejudice.
I believe history will show that OBL,IRAQ,Al-Qaeda,and ISLAM were connected to the 9/11/01 attack that slaughtered Gods children for Allah.
Also, here's the Islamic link to the Okalahoma bombing that had the exact construction method for the IED used in the WTC truck bomb in the lower parking level of the tower.

Moslems—as seen by an American who lived among them
In response to my argument that there is no such thing as moderate Islam, a reader wrote this eloquent e-mail:
I agree. I was engaged to a Muslim woman and was with her for a total of eight years. The kindest, most reasonable and most educated of her family seemed to feel absolutely no discomfort with the horrific and barbaric behavior and attitudes of their fellow Muslims. At the same time, the slightest anger or frustration expressed toward the Muslim world by the West was viewed as incontrovertible proof of the bias and discrimination of the West against Muslims. I also worked in Saudi Arabia. I don’t know all Muslim countries but in that country it’s very apparent that if you’re not a Muslim, then the Muslims feel they have no human obligation to you to be honest, fair or decent. We’ve allowed the Saudi royalty to fund the building of huge mosques here in America, we provide a free environment for Muslims and protect their right to worship here in America but in Saudi Arabia if they find a Bible in your luggage, they throw it away. And forget building a church or openly worshipping Christianity. If the police think that Saudis are frequenting Western compounds they’ll raid the compound and arrest the Saudis because they don’t want them “dirtied” by us. If you lived your life in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and died there, they wouldn’t allow you to be buried there because they don’t want their “holy” land being dirtied by your body. We’ve allowed the Muslims every freedom and right and they’ve returned none and yet they scream bias if we try to point it out. I still have Muslim friends and some who I even consider family but as a whole, I’m done with them. They are dishonest, unfair and completely self serving in any interaction we have with them, culture to culture.
OBL is a washed up, old, blithering idiot terrorist just like arafat was. Let's hope that the Iraqi people will react to OBL's threat to them to boycott elections the same way Americans did in the weeks preceeding our own elections in the US, when the blithering idiot OBL gave us a madate to vote for kerry "or else". We gave him a big fat greasy slap in the face for that rant, and kerry even admitted that he lost because of the sheer resolve of Americans against koran thumping terrorists.
OBL has to understand that as a rule, most intelligent humans don't support stinky camel humping idiots with turbans and rifles.

It does look a little like Assama is losing the wind in his sails and that's why he's hanging on to the coat tails of the monster under everyone's bed, "Abu the Beheader." I think it's almost more important to get him than it is Assama at this point. When they do, they should give him a brief lil' trial to make the libs and pacifists happy. Then take him out into public and hang him on one of those cranes the Muslims are so fond of. But not before slaughtering a pig at his feet then lowering his bound body into the bloody mess. With his feet and hands bound (like his victims) he will be helpless to resist. Take the carved out mask of the pigs head and place it nice and snug on Abu Musab's and let him swing in public with all his glory ... on his way to allah.
