NEW evidence of Osama Bin Laden’s attempts to acquire radioactive material for a “dirty bomb” has been revealed by an aide to the Al-Qaeda leader.In a book to be published shortly, the insider shows that Bin Laden bowed to pressure from hawks within the terror group’s leadership to buy the material through supporters in Chechnya. He had initially been cautious about such a dramatic increase in its armoury.
It is the first time that such a senior Al-Qaeda figure has revealed the internal tensions and debates within the group, and shows it was far less unified than had been thought.During the American bombardment of Tora Bora in Afghanistan where the leadership had fled in 2001, the book says, Al-Qaeda was hopelessly split and faith in Bin Laden declined. Bin Laden had also fallen out with Mullah Omar, the Taliban leader.
Excerpts from the book appeared last week in a London-based Arabic newspaper and are believed to have been written by Abu Walid al-Misri, an Egyptian who spent years in Afghanistan where his son was killed fighting the Russians.
Misri, who was with Bin Laden in Tora Bora, is thought to be one of Al-Qaeda’s leading theorists. When they fled Afghanistan, his book records, the organisation had been devastated by the death of Mohammed Atef, its military commander, killed by American bombing near Kandahar....
Misri also criticises the growth in Al-Qaeda training camps, saying many of them were compromised by spies and that they lacked discipline. “The last months in the life of Al-Qaeda (in Afghanistan) were a tragic example of an Islamic movement being run in a terrible way,” he says.

Had a chuckle reading your post.Dustbin Laden is certainly Chief Ummah Bummer! If Allah likes what he is doing so much, strange Osama is suffering from kidney problems,eh. Rather like Plague of PINK Locusts spreading over Moslem countries. Reckon Allah chose PINK because he knows the preferences of His Followers for young boys[Pearls] not to mention camels, goats and sheep...
So much for claims that the Iraq war has increased recruitment for Al Qaeda.
The idiots that make this claim, are short of one vital bit of knowledge that refutes such nonsense, islamic jihadist/terrorist ortganizations like Al qaeda, always have had, and always will have recruits whether a war with the west is on or not. Muslims are easy to brainwash by psycos like Bin laden on a power trip, because they've already been thoroughly brain-washed bu islam to begin with.
The reason the anti-war freaks have a base with which to make these claims is because we're seeing warfare involving these new recruits on TV everyday (most liberal media outlets paying particular attention to anything they can use to paint the Iraq war in the worst possible light). But that doesn't mean it's a new phenominon. The idiocy of such a claim is akin to saying that space only began it's existence after telescopes where created. In other words, jihadist are always being recruited by tyrannical clerics commanding raving neanderthals to die, not for him, but for Allah (that one word makes all the difference when convincing a muslim to die for your war).Think how long this has been happening without media attention.
The Iraq war increased neither terrorism nor recruitments of jihadists.... do they think Bin Laden was on his own apart from a bunch of pure evil killers before 9/11, and then he just suddenly declared a jihad, and muslims popped up out of thin air to fight against the westerners in Afghanistan.... do they also think that there were any less willing jihadist recruits to fight in Afghanistan as there is now in Iraq. There's an almost endless supply of them (approximately a billion if we're wanting a little precision).
To hear these fools talk anyone would think Bin Laden and Al Qaeda are the "only bad muslims"....
