Better late than never. From the BBC, with thanks to all those who sent this in:
France's highest administrative court has banned a TV station on the grounds that it is inciting racial hatred. The Council of State ordered France-based satellite company Eutelsat to stop transmitting Lebanese station al-Manar within 48 hours. The Council cited a 23 November broadcast in which a speaker accused Israel of deliberately disseminating Aids in Arab nations.
It said the channel had shown itself incapable of conforming to French law.
Al-Manar had been authorised to continue broadcasting in Europe by France's media watchdog after signing an undertaking not to incite hatred or violence.
But on 2 December French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin called for the station to be taken off air for its "anti-Semitic" content "incompatible with French values".
This BBC story doesn't say what Al-Manar broadcast. This older BBC story does:
The channel signed an undertaking not to incite hatred or violence....Last week, monitors recorded a commentator on the channel speaking of what he called "Zionist attempts to transmit Aids to Arab countries".
Hopefully the "everyone's-racist-but-us" French elites got a chance to hear it before it was pulled...
Zionist attempts to transmit AIDS to Arab countries....
Rabbis drinking blood of Muslim children, that is the kind of propaganda these a-holes were broadcasting...
The London based (mustached) speaker for Al Jazeera on CNN:
"Give them a chance..."
Well they had a chance and they blew it!
Every Muzzie can run around with a megaphone calling for the killing of Jews, 'death to America'- and our media is practising PC... intimidated by the murder of Theo Van Gogh, Ali Hirsi in hiding, Mr. Bean to go into hiding too?
Get real! Take a stand, for if you don't stand for something you fall for anything... In this case we all gonna fall pretty hard on the combined PC dump which is just ready to go into the incinerator...
And Al-Jazeera? Is that a reasonable channel, or is it a cross between Der Stuermer and TASS, responsible for inciting hatred and the deaths of American soldiers and other Infidels?
And as a citizen-consumer in the United States, should you be idle or indifferent while certain "Muslim" stations, designed to present the kindler, gentler face of Islam -- for the purposes of Da'wa, or deflecting critical scrutiny, or to present a plausible, kindly, family-values version of Islam (no Jihad, no dhimmitude, no hadith, no sira, no sinister talk about Infidels) -- spread their propaganda on behalf of Islam?
No, you should find out which cable stations are now carrying, or will carry, "BridgesTV." Go to www.bridgestv.com and have a look. For example, you will see that there is, on the right, a note that Comcast "will" carry BridgesTV starting in Jan. 2004. Did it? Find out. And if you are a Comcast subscriber, perhaps you would like to inform the company that you are going to unsubcribe, at the earliest possible opportunity, because you believe Comcast is aiding and abetting propaganda for a belief-system that you regard as a threat to your own way of life, and the political, economic, and social arrangements that have been established in this country, and elsewhere in the Western world.
And you may also note that a certain cable system, "Buckeye Cable Systems," will be carrying BridgesTV as of January 2005. Do you care? Well, if you do, and if you live in northern Ohio or southern Michigan, and if you are now a subscriber or a potential subscriber to Buckeye, you might let them know that they may lose more customers, in the end, than they will gain, by including BridgesTV in their offerings.
The telephone number to call is 419-724-9800. They receive calls 24 hours a day, but it is best to call, in order to get to the right person, during regular business hours.
Surely there are some people who will go to the BridgesTV website, or for that matter will find out what cable systems in this country carry the far more sinister Al-Jazeera, and do what you can -- by organizing others to make clear that they will take their business elsewhere if a cable company decides to carry or is presently carrying, any station that is regarded as offering propaganda on behalf of Islam.
See where it gets you. Moral appeals may work, but it is doubtful. They certainly haven't worked with universities -- just look at the reverse-kangaroo court (i.e. automatic exculpation, with a poohpoohing of the charges, and possibly just the faintest, looks-good-for-the-press harrumphing that such activities really have no place in the classroom and we are pleased to announce that the professors charged have promised that they did not mean any harm, and perhaps they became a little overheated, but they will never ever do it again and CASE CLOSED).
No, what works is the danger that these cable companies, or satellite channel people (don't forget them) will lose business. Let them lose it. Make them understand that any company that promotes, directly or indirectly, the belief-system of Islam will find that a large, and growing number of American consumers will simply take their own custom elsewhere. The message should get through. And who, in any case, in calculating the amount of revenue that can come in from hard Al-Jazeera or soft BridgesTV, will find it to be worth the loss of many potential customers -- and more all the time, as events will naturally cause more and more people to investigate the nature of Islam. This cannot be halted, not by the apologists in universities, not by the waving about of the scare-word "islamophobia," not by any of the usual taqiyya-cum-tu-quoque presentations (why, there was one just last week at Harvard's Emerson Hall). Too late.
Has anyone seen BridgesTV's children's programming? I think a stronger grievance for your cable provider, that decides to bundle this garbage, is to complain that the children's programming is tantamount to brainwashing (which it is). Explain to them how you don't want to come home from work one day and hear your 5 year old recite the shahada or tell you that he wants to be just like Muhammad when he grows up.
Scary stuff.
Maybe I'm in the smallest minority here but I've never heard of Bridges T.V. Of those who subscribe, how many know about the Islamic propaganda they broadcast? Is it conceivalbe that many subscribers don't have any idea? Is it possible that if many subscribers did know they'd object? Well, how does one ensure that subscribers find out what the T.V. company shows? Maybe one could stand in front of their buildings handing out leaflets explaing the facts as outlined above. I'd pick up a hand-out like that if I were passing by. Would you? Would you expect your neighbor to care about this? I think so. What do you think?
'The channel has shown itself incapable of conforming to French law'!
That say's it all...
Is there anything about Islam that is capable conforming to western laws?
Shalom
