From the German Welt, translated for Jihad Watch:
Berlin. Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, who is linked to Al-Qaeda, has allegedly announced a “mega” assault which would exceed 9/11 -- according to a follower, the Berlin “Tagesspiegel” says. The Berlin newspaper has information that has been provided by Fathala F., who has been also interrogated by US investigators.
The authorities regard this information as genuine and verifiable. When he (Fathala F.) met Al Zarqawi before the US invasion of Fallujah, Zarqawi allegedly told him that there would be a “huge incident.” The international public would be “even more shocked” than they were by the incidents of 9/11.
Zarqawi’s acolyte, a Kurdish member of Iraq’s terror gang Ansar Al Sunna, told US authorities about this conversation after his detention by US troups.
Fathala F. is being interrogated at a secret location. He had contact with “Tagesspiegel” last Thursday near the city of Kirkuk, and reported his get-together with Zarqawi during a meeting that lasted 6 hours.

I would suspect maximun psycholgical damage could be achieved by a Christmas time attack. But one never knows. Everyone was warned that Easter would be dangerous at the Vatican and there was no attack there this year.
As a devout non Muslim I face Mecca and piss 5 times a day.

'Oil-for-Food' May Have Bankrolled Clinton Library
The investigation into the United Nations Oil-for-Food scandal has turned up evidence that places Pardongate fugitive Marc Rich at the center of the probe, the New York Post revealed in its Monday editions.
"We -think [Rich] was a major player in this - a central figure," a senior law enforcement official told the Post.
The bombshell development raises new questions about whether some of Saddam Hussein's Oil-for-Food cash may have found its way into the hands of Rich's ex-wife Denise, who contributed heavily to Bill Clinton's presidential library during the years now under investigation.
A 2001 report by the House Government Reform Committee on the Rich clemency deal established that the fugitive billionaire had been dealing with Saddam since the early 1990s - a fact well-known to the CIA and other U.S. law enforcement agencies.
The report detailed loans by Rich directly to Saddam in violation of U.N. sanctions. The Iraqi dictator would later repay the well-connected crook with preferential treatment on oil prices.
Investigators told the Post they have received information that Rich and Ben Pollner, a New York-based oil trader who heads Taurus Oil, put together deals between Saddam and his international supporters as part of the Oil-for-Food scam.
When it became known in January 2001 that the ex-president had pardoned Rich, probers immediately zeroed in on his ex-wife Denise, who had donated more than $1 million to Democratic campaigns - including Hillary Clinton's first Senate race - during the same period that Rich was doing business with Saddam.
Rich's ex also ponied up $450,000 for Clinton's library and donated the max to the Clintons' defense fund.
During public testimony before Congress in February 2001, Denise Rich invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, raising prosecutors' suspicions that she was covering up the money trail between her husband and the White House.
A criminal investigation by the U.S. Attorney for New York's Southern District into the Rich clemency deal is officially still under way, though many believe the probe has fizzled under pressure from the Bush White House, which is said to fear that any indictments would be regarded as a political vendetta.
But new probes into Rich's role in Oil-for-Food could put the spotlight back on Clinton, who said during a recent interview about the opening of his library that the only thing he regretted about pardoning the fugitive billionaire was that it was misconstrued by the media.

A huge attack planned; should we be more prepared on one day than another, I think not.
If another huge attack was to occur in CONUS would the Islamic culture survive?
No; it would not survive the frenzy unleashed upon them by us.They say that 2% our population is muslim so I guess the other 98% are American so those are not very good odds.
The Tyranny will soon be here; ARE YOU READY

Somehow, these claims only seem to serve the function of keep Al Qaida in the news. Remember their definition of victory doesn't always contain a strategic component, just being the bogey man is enough.
I think there's a great disingenuousness in this type of reporting, subsequent suprise attacks will result in America doing a focused, retro-1945 on any of the hostile muslim regimes adjacent to iraq. The Islamist now know this, they've had the opportunity to measure how the US will respond, they're probably very disillusioned right now as America measured its response to 9/11 without precipitating the muslim backlash they had hoped to create. Without the regimes to hide behind, kaput.
The media dramatically underplays America's true capacity to project its power, those mullah's in tehran and qom know there's plenty to be afraid of.
Although I wish it were otherwise, I do not think the US would respond severely in the event of another attack. Bush is too timid. We'll just have another national prayer service, with some imam leading the way. Lots of mumbo jumbo about "hi-jacking a religion of peace" and all that garbage.
Hooray, Bill Clinton was not only a pervert, but also a Saddam cronie (second hand, but nevertheless)? I wouldn't be surprised one bit. Thanks for the link, Catherine.
Weren't muslims supposed to pull off a massive attack before the Presidential elections in the hope of defeating George W. Bush? Yet all Osama could manage was an impotent video based on FH/911.These Christmas threats from muslims have become an annual event yet they are always unable to make anything happen. What muslims need is a return to a pre 9/11 world where they could sneak about with the rest of the world unaware.Muslims are now being watched in infidel lands and our military is in place to respond quickly to any sneak attack.
The West CANNOT afford to take this as just another Al Quaeda threat or another Muslim's lies...Should hope this son of a gun is revealing the trail to that Butcher Zarqawi but we can't trust Muslims especially fanatical Fundamentalists.
Re:Clinton, latest news might wipe self satisfied smirk off his face!
THE SOONER THE BETTER-
And as HARD as these maniacs can strike.
Then let's retire the Pussyfooting Doctrine.
And answer the Islamic fanatics' folly with whatever level of anguish is neeeded to rouse them from their theocratic slumbers.
And to control theselves, or become compost.
The Roses of History flourish on a mulch of compacted delusional-ists.
I see no way else to wake the hypnoid.
Let it begin. Since the longer it waits, the worse it will be.
They are likely to succeed in their madness.Terror is cheap for the perpetrators, and comes at a high price for the victims. But if Bush keeps yakking about "religion of peace" after the next strike then that will be the end of him!
Squirrel hunter, Cat: you cracked me up!
Marc Rich! Round up the usual suspects, - can't go wrong.
After all didn't he get a presidential pardon 5 seconds before
BJ Clinton left the building? But it didn't work now or did it? As far as I know he is still hiding in Switzerland....
But it all makes perfect sense, birds of a feather...
We need more Clintons and Peanuts like Carter like we need a hole in the head! We need less Larry King and we need decent News, debates and responsible reporting in the media. The first thing is to make our own people understand what this is all about!
But god forbid, who wants to have a politicised population who are no longer interested in ball games and meaningless crap movies from outer space? Keep on yakking Larry, make sure you never upset anyone! ( See, that's how you can keep a job over many years: PC pure!) Go back to sleep Amerika...
O.T.
Has anyone ever read the book "Ecodefense"? I bought it a few years ago, thinking it was a book on ecology. It isn’t. It is a hand book for eco-terrorists, which doesn’t interest me very much. But it does have a fair amount of info on gathering intelligence and field security. Both of which may come in handy for some of us in the future.
So, they're loudly threatening us again? Good. Maybe some of them will get caught and they can pull out the thumbscrews to extract a bit of useful info.
BTW, merry XPmas to all. I'm celebrating early with some excellent dried pork washed down with Longjing Tea. Nobody makes it as well as the Taiwanese!
Something else about UBL's threat. He was going to try it, but some US soldier stationed in Iraq was looking west, bent over, and farted, which so scared UBL that he almost tore himself loose from his dialysis machine in order to run for cover.
I posted this elsewhere (foreign fighters in Fallujah), but it seems more apprpriate here).
OT
My apologies for not commenting on this subject a few days ago, when it was ON topic--incredibly busy--but it's of grave concern to me, and I do hope that I can get some reassurance.
The issue is that there have been some comments about what amounts to "quality control," so that the site can become more appealing to the major media. For example, Shiva was criticized for saying that if some Muslims objected to the Dutch red light district, they would be disappointed because there were no goat there.
First, the "goat" comment isn't all that inaccurate; in the military, our docs instruct the members not to touch animals, including goats, in places like the Near East and North Africa precisely BECAUSE they are often victims of contagious human disease. This is because of the primitive belief that a man can "give away" his disease by having intercourse with a goat or other animal.
Second, and my greater concern and the focus of my question is this:
Is it possible that Jihad Watch is slowly descending into Political Correctness in order to become acceptable to the mainstream media?
Obviously, fully spelled out vulgar words, without critically placed asterisks, must be avoided. However, honest responses, even if rather harsh, are a very useful guage of our growing assessment of the danger of Islam, and I believe them not to be a threat to Jihad Watch, but very useful.
In essence, posters with very strongly held negative perceptions of Islam are doing the rest of us a service; they slowly erode the fears instilled in so many of us by the Politically Correct Kantian Left of "offending" people, policies, and philosophies that are flat WRONG about Islam, and who would have us be doormats to those who would destroy us.
It is my sincere hope that I have overinterpreted the criticism of some of the more enthusiastically resolute critics of Islam.
cubed,
I agree to a certain extent, but not fully. I have on occasion put things in less than a civil manner when expressing my views about Islam in this forum in the past myself. I think as rewarding as this felt personally I might not have expressed myself in a manner worthy of serious consideration, i.e. the use of profanity and crude imagery. I also believe the use of racial slurs (note: “Muslim” is not a race.) and generalizations about Arabs are counterproductive. Other than providing the satisfaction of “venting” they serve little other than perpetuating these counterproductive practices and alienating potential allies. All in all they are unnecessary.
I also believe the arguments put forth by rival religionists and theists, beating their chests and holy books proclaiming the superiority of their faith, belief, writings, deity or deities in some vainglorious attempt to convert or cow the opposition are just as damaging however comedic. Those arguments are best suited for forums of a more religious nature.
Only science and reason can effectively counter the zealot fervor that seizes the soul with intense, unreasoning passion and causes human beings to oppress, torture, and kill in the name of a god they profess. People who oppress, torture, and kill to appease an unseen and unknowable entity are clinically insane and should be constrained from harming others (incarcerated) and then treated medically (psychiatry, drugs or surgery) to alleviate their anti-social behavior.
I think Spencer has the right idea. By reporting on what Islam really is and what it is really doing, reasonable people will be persuaded as to the truth about Islam. Venting, racial slurs, and more religious dogma could hardly be expected to achieve the same goals.
f.g.
Islam is a lie because, amongst other things:
1. While claming to be the epitome of monotheism, it in fact demands the worship Mohammad as though he were a god. Mohammad can do no wrong. He is the only “One Prophet” placing him above all other human beings. He can never be spoken out against. His name must be ritualistically followed by a phrase of worship and adoration. It goes on and on.
2. Proclaiming to be the big “Truth” it sanctions the use of lies and deceit. How can anything it says be trusted?

No go. The Gates of Interpretation are closed. To stay, you must have a science degree. Only Rationalists may apply for entry into this exclusive club of those who are properly enlightened, who know the true faith.
Those who's understanding of the nature of Humanity is based on superstition, religion, and the Arts have no real place in the debate on Human freedom and free intellectual enquiry.
Mssrs. Socrates, Milton, Paine, Mill, and Orwell, please leave this site. We don't want no stupit folks here.
The simple answer is that we quietly inform every muslim regime out there that there are no innocent bystanders anymore. If we lose a city, each of you loses a city. Should such a fate befall NY, then Cairo, Damascus, Jedda, Tehran, Medina, - all of them are at risk of having the exact same - very very bad day. In other words, put an incentive in place for cooperation, and a 5-1 risk reward ratio sounds about right. (We have a fleet of Trident subs for exactly this purpose.) That said, I'm not sure it's going to go down. Once upon a time they sent hijacked airplanes to threaten us and flew them into buildings. It took 5 years to plan and execute that. Now they're lucky if they can get their heads up long enough to fire off a videotape. Would think that smuggling a nuke or two in would be a bit more complex than that... Of course, I could be wrong about that.
Well, Son of Walker, one little problem of your scientific positivism was identified by the Vienna Circle back in the 1930's (a group of philosophers who wished to built a full-orbed philosophy completely in the light of what was scientifically known). Members of this group, Moritz Schlick, Friederich Waismann, and Josef Schaechter wrote some essays now bound together in a book _Ethics and the Will_, in which it is conceded that positivist philosophy has not way to get from the empirical "is" to the ethical "ought".
This is why secular liberals can only strip away every vestige of their ancestral, faith-based ethics that clings to them--and put nothing in its place save a vague "tolerance" that sooner or later embraces every kind of anti-social behavior whose practitioners make enough of the right kind of noise.
I agree with Cubed. Profanity and lavatory graffiti aren't necessary, but honest opinions shouldn't be discouraged. And we must realize that people who are just beginning to learn the truth and reality of the religion of peace are going to be aghast, just like we were once upon a time. Look at all the apologists, deniers, and multiculturalists who drop in to call us bigots, Islamophobes, and racists. Why should people have epithets tossed at them for telling the truth about a "sensitive" issue? The name-calling doesn't bother me a bit; it is actually quite helpful at times because it exposes the motives of the name-callers. I guess they have noticed that around here, nobody backs off.
There was a time that my mind could barely absorb the unbelievable "theology" of Islam, and I use the word "theology" only because Islam is recognized as a genuine religion. All similarities between Islam and other religions end with the belief in a god, not necessarily the same god.
I think that the readers should make honest comments about how they feel, offer suggestions, and provide any links they may have that would help all of us. I see no reason why readers' comments would inhibit the news media if they were really interested in presenting the truth to the public, which they are not.
Political correctness and advocacy groups like CAIR are keeping the truth under wraps, and we all know it.
There is nothing quite as powerful as an enraged public, and I see new names posting here every day.
