Question:

Is it true that Pakistan means "Land of the Pure"?
Or is PAK an abbreviation for Punjab, Afghanistan, Kashmere?

Both. Pakistan is an acronym for the Islamic lands of the region: P = Punjab, A = the Afghan areas outside sovereign Afghanistan, K = Kashmir, and S = Sindh, although the S also is part of the suffix "stan," which means "land."

Also, "Pak" means pure. So the place is also named "Pure Land," which has itself justified much jihadist adventurism.

As people from that blighted land never quite tire of pointing out, Pak is a frontline ally in America's 'war on terror'. In honor of their 'sincere services to humanity', I'd decided to rename them 'puke-istan'.

Folks, don't be fooled. Sanmple this:
-Pukeistan, being the only country with confirmed nukes, represents a unique (as of now) threat to western security interests.
-Add to that shady saudi financing of the bomb effort; quasi-governmental terrorist ties (from al qaeda to the taliban to N Korea's kim-jung il); surreptious missile tech (courtsey N korea) and surreptious bomb designs (courtsey beijing);
-An explosion of wahabi influence on saudi funded jihad factories i.e. madrassas; growing islamization of normal society; hatred, ntolerance, bigotry, sectarianism;
- a stellar record of using jihadi seditious jihadi insurgencies against neighbouring nations - afghanistan and india will vouch for that
- An army that unpretenciously runs the state; and exists only to feed itself. And one that has genocide on its hands (close to 1 million+ bengalis killed in 1971 during Bangladesh's independence movement).
- whew I could go on, feel free to add to the list anyone.
Pakistan, literally translates to 'land of the pure' (in arabic? or urdu?). Question is pure what? Pre evil, pure death, pure jihad!

If you get the chance, read the chapters on Pakistan in two books written by VS Naipaul called 'Among the Believers' and 'Beyond Belief'.

The Punjab was split in two during the partition of India in order to accomodate the aspirations of the Islamic state. But in order for that to be achieved demographically, all the Hindus and Sikhs living in the land that was to be Pakistan (ie: the dirty, unclean infidels) had to be wiped off the face of the land. Thus the partition massacres took place. Now, India still has a sizeable Muslim minority, but Pakistan has annihilated every non Muslim from its population. All the Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh holy places in Pakistan are crumbling, abused, neglected, because all the Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists have either been slaughtered or converted.

When a Pakistani or a Muslim starts frothing at the mouth about the displacement of Palestinians that took place at the birth of Israel, before reminding them of the Jews who were equally chased out of their Arab homes, gently remind them of the fact that millions of Sikhs and Hindus were chased down and evicted from their ancestral lands for being dirty and unclean and to make way for the grand Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the land of the pure.

Strangely though, so deeply engrained is the belief in the dirt and filth of the unbeliever, that it is rare for a Muslim to interrogate the ideology of the Land of the Pure (Salman Rushdie is one who has) because the belief is in accordance with the tenets of the Koran and fundamental Islamic belief...that infidels are dirty and clearing the land of them was analogous to draining marshes or exterminating vermin...something that had to be done to allow Islam to take root in an unsullied land.

Although half of the Punjab rests in Pakistan, it would be wrong to describe it, as a whole, as an 'Islamic' land. Eastern Punjab resides in India and is the home to the Sikhs and Hindus. Pure Punjabi culture emanates from India. The Pakistani Punjab is a land of Arab lackeys and slaves whose minds are ridden with a mentality of slavishness and bootlicking to the Arabs, in keeping with the nature of Islamic imperialiam. Once again, the chapters on Pakistan in the two Naipaul books I reccomended are greatly enlightening on this.

Somebody mentioned the 1971 Bangladesh genocide commited by the Pakistani army. This is probably the most forgotten genocide of the twentieth century. When East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) wanted autonomy, the Islamic Army of West Pakistan was sent in with orders to commit widescale genocide in that nation. They massacred whole university departments to kill the intellectuals, and the Pakistani army had specific orders to kill Hindus first, before slaughtering Muslim Bangladeshis who favoured autonomy.

What is the Pakistani soldier doing? He is checking to see if the man is circumcised. This is what the soldiers from the Land of the Pure did: They would check to see if the civilians they encountered were Hindu or Muslim. If they were Muslim they stood a chance of survival. If they were Hindu, they would be circumcised, or have their penises cut off and stuffed in their mouths before being slaughtered.

This genocide is the larget single Islamic genocide since the Armenian liquidation; although some argue that Darfur takes that prize. Whenever Muslims bring up the faults of the West, Bangladesh should be thrown back in their face. One more thing. The genocidal machine that is the state army of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is the ruler of that land. They created nourished and supported the Taliban. They have the nuclear bomb. Musharraf was a commando in the Pakistan Army during the genocide, although his role and action in that period is unclear.

Kaffir Boy, Thanks for the info. and links on the 1971 slaughter. In a very real sense, the country of Bangladesh came about because they could not abide governance by a group who did not share their culture. Lots of the drive for independence of Bangladesh came from the arrogance of West Pakistan. They wanted the East Pakistan (Bangladesh) people to give up their language of Bangla (Bengali). A major reason to resist the Pak. government was to keep their language. Millions were sacrificed for this.

There are now a shitload of Arab supported madrassas educating Bengalis in Islam in Arabic. For many it is their only option for an education. It is kind of sickening to see these people allowing their kids to move into an Arabic education when their grandfathers sacrificed so much so that they could have the opportunity to speak Bengali.

Robert, your knowledge on the subject of Islam is endless....It makes you not only an author, but an educator.

WD52: I think that would be a mis-reading. Look up swww.swordoftruth and find the piece on sexual mutilation during the Pakistani invasion of Bangladesh. It's pretty clear what happened.

Hindus do not get circumcised. Although Bangladesh was a majority Muslim state at the time of the genocide, a significant minority, about 15%, were Hindu. The Pakistani army were under orders to kill Hindus on sight, and in order to check they would look at the penises of the men they rounded up to see if they were circumcised or not. Then they would symbolically circumcise them before killing them. I read this in an account of the Bangladesh genocide written by, surprisingly, John Pilger, the current Jihadi apologist from the British left.

Thanks for the clarification on the circumcision thing. Islam has been a bit inconsistent with what it copied from Judaism. The "circumcising" you describe sounds somewhat akin to the taking of scalps as was practiced by North American native tribes -- a way of verifying "kills" as well as subjecting the enemy to a final and extremely painful indignity.
