Open Letter to the United Nations Against Religious Apartheid

To: H.E. the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Kofi Annan;

The Coalition for the Defense of Human Rights is an umbrella coalition representing various organizations from the following communities: Arab-Christian, Armenian, Assyrian, Bahai, Buddhist, Copt, Hindu, Humanist Muslim, Ibo, Maronite, Nubian, secular intellectuals, Southern Filipino, Slavic-Christian, Southern Sudanese, Syriac, West African, and women's groups.

We gather to demonstrate our determination to protest the treatment of religious and ethnic minorities, as well as women and moderate and secularized Muslims in Islamic lands. We are here also to cry out against the murderous ideology of radical Islamism, which, by dividing humankind into worthy Muslims and inferior "infidels" is wreaking havoc throughout the world.

In the face of growing attacks and oppression of religious and ethnic minorities in Islamic lands, we respectfully make the following two demands upon the appropriate organs of the United Nations:

1. We call upon you today to appoint a Special Rapporteur to investigate the status and conditions of non-Muslim minorities, women, and humanist, moderate Muslims in states ruled by Islamic majorities. Such a rappoteur must investigate the following conditions.

Equality Under Law: What is the status, both in law and in practice, of these groups, and of individuals belonging to these groups? Do the laws in these nations discriminate against religious minorities? Do members of these groups have the same rights to assemble, speak, publish, and associate as those in the majority? Can members of these classes be elected to governmental and representative bodies? Is there a government policy of discriminating against the hiring of members of these classes? Does the government allow or encourage radical anti-minority organizations to abuse, threaten or otherwise oppress minority populations? Do the agencies that enforce the laws represent all groups in society?

Religious rights and freedom: Do members of minority faiths have the right to practice their faiths freely? Do they have the right to proselytize? Do members of the majority faith have the right to choose another faith?

Cultural equality: Are the rights and cultures of national, religious, and ethnic minorities respected?

Teaching of hatred and contempt: What is the view of these classes promoted by the government and the general culture?

2. We call upon the United Nations to condemn the ideology of Jihad-Islamism as a form of religious apartheid, which divides humankind into exalted Muslims and inferior "infidels."

Radical Jihad-Islamism is a supremacist, quasi-racist ideology that is now waging terrorist war worldwide against innocent men, women and children it labels "infidels." This ideology is supporting religious wars against non-Islamist Muslims and non-Muslim infidels worldwide. It is seeking to establish Apartheid-like regimes similar to those in Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, to subjugate and control "infidels." It legitimizes and extends human rights abuses - including slavery - on a massive scale. It employs a global economic resource (oil) as a weapon against non-Muslim nations in the service of its goals. It is the duty of the United Nations, which came into being as a result of racist Nazism, to condemn and to combat any ideology which defines some part of the human race as inferior.

Radical Jihad-Islamism must be condemned as a form of cultural, racial, religious and ethnic discrimination, and the United Nations should equate it with Colonialism and Imperialism. It should condemn its teaching to any community or school and it should call for a "corrective teaching" to seek to undo the hatred that it has engendered in peoples who have been taught the ideology. Further, the U.N. should condemn all current Jihad wars and call on nations waging such wars to cease violating the rights of ethnic and religious minorities and peoples. Finally, the U.N. should intervene to protect the rights and lives of religious and ethnic minorities and non-Islamist Muslims in Afghanistan, Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Sudan, and Syria.

We would like to meet with you about our concerns, and we wait with hope and prayer, your considered response.

Sincerely,
Fr. Keith Roderick
Secretary General

It will be interesting to see how that enthusiastic admirer of Khomeini, that once-and-future believer that the Nazis and the Zionists were collaborators(see his enthusiastic review-turned-introduction to Lonnie Brenner's book on the subject), Mr. Edward Mortimer, Chief Speechwriter and "Senior Adviser" (as he bills himself) to Kofi Annan, who puts so many of the words, into Kofi Annan's moutnh, and hence so many of the pseudo-thoughts, into Kofi Annan's brain, will make of this dhimmitude petitition.

Jews are not among those listed as having suffered from dhimmitude, no doubt being left out for reasons of political calculation, but also because the million or so Jews who once lived in the Muslim Arab world no longer do so --ot in Yemen, not in Morocco, not in Egypt, not in Iraq, not anywhere. So the problem of dhimmitude exists only insofar as the relentless Arab Jihad against Israel is an attempt to force the Jewish sovereign state to be dismantled, and for Jews there either to leave, or to submit to rule by Arabs (which is what either the "binational state" or the "two-state solution" would, over time, inevitably lead to), and the re-imposition of the dhimmitude status, this time on all the Jews of Israel.

Let's see if the U.N. takes up this matter, and handles it with the same dispatch with which, over the past 30 years, it has handled all matters that would tend to embarrass the Muslim lobby that now runs that whole operation on the East River. There will be no U.N. solution in Darfur, just as there was not in the Sudan. And there will certainly be no mention even of the word "dhimmitude" anywhere by U.N. officials.

One more reason to see the U.N. for what it is. No longer merely ineffective, as the League of Nations became, it is still worse; it is an instroment of the Jihad, and the anti-Israel focus is only one obvious part of the manipulation of the U.N. for Muslim purposes.

While i applaud the initiative behind the petition, and am more than happy to sign,I'm
sure that it will gather dust on the 'Excuses
for Genocide' file cabinet in Kofi's office.
There's not a more active Dhimmi in world affairs today than as CNN refer to him Your Excellency.Well His Excellency has overseen Genocide on an unprecedented scale throughout
the world, while the bold young Kojo Anan picks
up the family blood money.
Multiculturasim as preeched to us daily by men
like Anan at the United Nations is in essence
pure Dhimmitude in motion,as it will always place
the sensitivity of muslims over all other religions. The facts do not matter when Islam is
involved.
There is as much chance of the UN trying to end the evils of Dhimmitute as there is of Europe admitting that there's a clash of cultures waiting to explode in their face's.
Dhimmitute can be seen clearly as a battle between 'Good and Evil',Guess who the EU + UN
WILL SIDE WITH?

I am encouraged by this move. Not because I believe Kofi Annan and the UN will jump to take up the issue of the brutal Islamic subjugation of religious minorities in Iran, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Sudan, Nigeria, Indonesia and elsewhere. But because the presence of this petition along with others to come and -- if you'll pardon the borrowed phrase -- of a rainbow coalition of rights organisations behind these petitions, will begin the long but necessary process of turning the table to reveal just who has been victimizing who around the world for the last 1,300 years.

Until recently, wilfully blind leftists in the US and Europe -- those who know nothing of Islamic doctrine or history -- have had a free ride in mischaracterizing Muslims as a people oppressed by the white race, that "cancer of human history" (thanks Susan Sontag for your garish reverse racism). Robert Spencer, Bat Ye'or, Hilaire Belloc, and others have told us the hard truth about Islam but individual writers are too easily dismissed by the left as "Islamophobes" and cogent arguments exposing the nefarious nature of the religion of peace fall on deaf ears. As in the first two world wars, the ability to sustain and prevail in this conflict hinges on whether we can muster the support of John Q. Public from Los Angeles to London and the simple truth is, human beings are ultimately persuaded with appeals to their emotional rather than rational side. A vocal alliance of subjugated minorities, many with brown skin, may be just the ticket needed to wake the masses to the danger we all face.

Hugh posts: One more reason to see the U.N. for what it is. No longer merely ineffective, as the League of Nations became, it is still worse; it is an instroment of the Jihad, and the anti-Israel focus is only one obvious part of the manipulation of the U.N. for Muslim purposes.

If you haven't read it yet, former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Dore Gold's "Tower of Babble" elaborates on this and other problems and failures at the UN. This book is well worth adding to your must read list:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1400054753/103-4608995-6947827?v=glance

At $17 it's more than worth adding to your library. Don't forget Gold's "Hatred's Kingdom", while you're at it.

BTW, CIRCULATE THIS PETITION!

At long last a gauntlet may be thrown at the feet of the jihadist allies in the UN. It will doubtless be consigned to the dustbin of history by a UN Secretariate corrupt and supine before the 55 Islamic nation bloc in the General Assembly.

If all of the non Eurabian, non Islamic democratic nations at the UN left to form a new organziation of like minded countries-something like Hebrew University professor Raphi Israeli's AWADS or Alliance of Western and Democratic States-and adopted the legacy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, then the Un-tied Nations might totter and fall of it own dead weight, as the Islamic nation bloc couldn't possibly put up the dough to fund the relic.

Then and only then will dhimmitude-the field of study pioneered by Bat Ye'or based on a term coined by the assassinated Lebanese PM Bashir Gemayel be vanquished.

Perhaps the ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt-the architect of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights prowling the corridors of the New York headquarters of the UN will cease its wailing. Perhaps, but unlikely.
