I haven’t managed to watch an episode of “Train 48”. Many Canadians I know still think that Mikey Moore’s films are credible documentaries. Including his “Canadian Bacon”.

This Ernst Zundel and CAIR thing is surprising. I wouldn’t think they would touch that guy with a ten foot pole.

You have to remember our federal politicians are more worried about optics than reality. As long as they can be seen to appear like they are doing something, that is good enough. Like our present gun laws, almost no one that I know has bothered to get an owner’s license nor register their guns, but the feds have declared it to be a success. This stupid law has created a cross border smuggling business that now requires more of our resources and finances more criminals. But all that does not matter to the feds, as long as they appear to have put down those nasty, brutish, Neanderthal gun owners. All they have done is create disrespect for the law and new career opportunities for criminals.

It could just be me, but I wouldn't chalk Canada's avoidance of being attacked by terrorists to luck. It hardly seems that Canada hasn't engaged in the sort of foreign adventurism and self-interested, shortsighted meddling in the internal affairs of other countries that seems to have done much to incur the ire of terrorists. You don't often hear terrorists and others refer to Canada as a "great Satan," which hardly seems an accident.

Q1-: I live in CANADA and from my work to mosque distance is about 8 miles, it takes me almost 2 hours to go and come back to work immidiatly after juma namaz using public transport as I don't know driving so I offer my juma namaz as zuhar at my residence as i do it in normal days, I know its wrong, Please advice me what should I do!
Q2-: I share live in company accomodation which is shared by a hindu who very much oppose the muslims and talk bad about Islam and Allah and accuses us of hindu massacre, What should I do! I usually keep quite not to indulge in discussion, Is it OK to keep relation is man as I can' avoid him really.
Q3-: Is it OK to go to kaffur house on his invitation and eat vegitarian food only, !
Q4-: Is the money obtained from selling the statues of living things in market is Halal or not!

Q1) Arrange with your boss to take time off for your prayers. If he/she refuses, explain the virtues of Islam to him ....again and again and again. Get the company to change it's practices to accomodate Muslims....that is the only way forward. If necessary take your prayer matt to work.... Allah (swt) will surely be pleased.

q3) Sure, take all oppotunites to explain the virtues of Islam...Dawa is a 24*7 muslim duty.

q4) Don't know, probably some wierd ruling about it....but be pragmatic....you need to live.

There is no doubt that there are more Muslims here than there use to be, however, their numbers are more than offset by an influx of other Asians, (and Latin Americans) many of whom are not on friendly terms with Islam. I should also mention that I have met more than a few people who started out life as Muslims and who after coming to Canada, converted to something less nasty. Usually a Christian church of some kind.

Well, Gary, I can't say you've exactly wowed me with the overwhelming force of your pithy evidence.

So Colin Powell "reportedly" shared a list of possible al-Qaeda targets in Canada with his Canadian counterpart. That's hardly credible. Claiming to have a list doesn't equal hard proof. Joe McCarthy said he had a list of known communists in the State Department. (He didn't.) Powell told the United Nations that he had evidence of Iraqi WMDs. (He didn't.) Scrutinize your sources a bit more. (It's what a good journalist or scholar would do.)

And as for your claim that Canada has, in fact, been engaging in the same sort of foreign adventurism that earned special contempt for the U.S. from al-Qaeda ... well, just look more closely at the context. Canada sent troops to Afghanistan as part of the effort to hunt down bin Laden in the wake of 9/11. That operation enjoyed considerable support from around the world. (Perhaps you recall how America received unprecedented global sympathy in the aftermath of 9/11 from such America haters as the French, Castro and Qaddafi. The human tragedy of 9/11 created massive international goodwill toward the U.S., which Bush promptly forfeited by easing up on the hunt for bin Laden to create a new quagmire in Iraq.) Canadian troops joined the hunt for bin Laden. Of course this would incur the wrath of al-Qaeda. But in the eyes of the world, it was certainly justifiable for Canadiam (and other) troops to be in Afghanistan.

You can hardly say the same for Iraq, though. Completely in character, Canada stayed out of the "coalition of the willing," just like a host of sage nations.

It seems, by and large, that any targeting of Canada is largely spillover from its troublesome neighbor to the south. You'll note that the underlying concern with Canada being a "haven for terrorists" is not that they'll strike Canadian soil but that they'll find their way to the U.S. through Canada.

Remember, bin Laden fundamentally hates us not for our freedom and way of life, but because we interfere with the Muslim world's way of life. I live in a suburb of Toronto called Brampton. I moved here as a lad 20 years ago from Britain, and have watched it change from a typical Canadian town in what Torontonians jokingly call "Bramladesh". It should actually be "Bramistan". Increasing seen around our town are women wearing the tradition Burqa robe of the more orthadox branches of Islam. It amazes me that this type of repression is openly allowed here in such a socially conscious country. How far are the people of this country supposed to bend in the name of tolerance. It shames me deeply that my adopted country is changing so rapidly. Our policies are changing with demographic as well. things are so "PC" it is ridiculous. Our news reports are ammended with subtext like american drug ads, only political. Disclaimers to appease the touchy feely police.
As for the content of our news: murder, murder, murder! I Have no idea what Michael Moore is thinking when he says he couldnt find anyone in Toronto who locks their doors. I dont know ANYONE in Ontario that doesn't, and about 80% have alarms.
The schools teach topic like "the benefits of immigration and muulticulturalism" in 9th grade Geography. Maybe I am crazy but that sounds an awful lot like a 12th grade political course to mean. A topic for debate, not instruction.

The RCMP has charged five people, among them an Immigration Canada
official, with corruption and fraud after several morning raids in
Ottawa Thursday morning.

The RCMP are alleging the group received up to $25,000 in fees from at
least a dozen Arab immigrants seeking permanent resident status.

The arrests are the culmination of an investigation that began in
January. There will likely be more arrests, the RCMP said.

RCMP Cpl. Nathalie Deschenes told CJOH's Anna-Karina Tabunar that the
suspects were allegedly approaching immigrants and promising that their
applications would be fast-tracked for fees ranging from $4,000 to
$25,000.

One of the five suspects is the 34-year-old operations manager at the
Ottawa branch of Citizenship and Immigration.

"She was the only one who had access to all those files and database and
all the things pertaining to the applications," Deschenes said.

The office was shut down until further notice.

Neighbours of one couple charged said the husband often spoke of
bringing immigrants to Canada.

Neighbour Robin Hunkin told CJOH's Tabunar that she "knew of a few
because every once in a while you'd see a new immigrant living with
them."

Police say there is no indication that the group has any links to
terrorist activity.

It is not yet clear whether immigrants who paid fees to the group will
lose their status as permanent residents.

These arrests will likely sharpen the focus on Immigration Minister Judy
Sgro, whose resignation opposition critics have been demanding in recent
weeks.

She is currently the subject of an investigation by the federal ethics
commissioner, prompted by allegations she received an improper election
donation.

Critics have also lambasted Sgro for her office's decision to extend a
residence permit to a Romanian stripper who worked on her re-election
campaign; and over Ottawa's controversial program to allow foreign
strippers to get special work visas.
