Will this really fix the problem? Is the problem really one of ignorance? Is it not more accurate to say that the problem is that these imams do not share French values? Will learning about French history really make them more likely to adopt those values? I doubt it. From the BBC, with thanks to Anthony:
France has proposed practical measures to ensure the country's Muslim prayer leaders speak French and understand France's way of life.In a newspaper interview, Interior Minister Dominique de Villepin said that from September, future imams must study law, civics and history.
Three-quarters of France's 1,200 imams are not French, and a third do not speak French, he told Le Parisien.
France has expelled several imams for preaching contrary to French law.
Mr de Villepin said it was unacceptable that so many Muslim prayer leaders in France do not speak the language of the country in which they live and preach.
He said imams must learn French - and receive further education in other subjects at French universities.

Post-Christian enlightenment societies share with Buddhism the naive belief that ignorance is at the root of all problems. However, maybe the root is moral, in that there is a clash of values (including, at times, points where we clash with God's values--to our loss and woe).
Frankly, considering that God said through Jeremiah that exiles are to work for the peace and prosperity of the city to which God sends them, it seems to me that the imams' positing of a fundamental conflict between dar-ul-islam and dar-ul-harb necessitates was and impoverishment of others--hence it is the imams who probably aren't on God's side in this one.

Won't make any difference. In Holland we have muslims that speak our language fluently and they know all about Dutch culture. The problem is that they reject it and want to replace it with an islamic order. Would it have helped the French had Hitler spoken their language?

I agree with leveller, all it accomplishes is to make them better moles.
Leveller and Sheik Canuk (swt) - Moles. They have no need to create Muslim moles as enough of them have advanced in European society and have the confidence to be out.
Regrettably we have the same situation here in North America. Brazenly they use the Constitutional freedom of speech and religion clauses as a justification for their speech and actions and are, in the open, moving on the influential with pretty words and sweet smiles. It is generally believed that Americans will turn back this ill wind before its too late. I certainly hope so.

- Islamist Threat to Public Schools in Columbia, South Carolina?
On January 6, 2004, Anti-CAIR published a Press Release concerning Mijhaj Arastu, the lead contact for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) chapter in Columbia, South Carolina.
.why are we revisiting this issue? It's the result of a complaint Anti-CAIR (ACAIR) received from the parent of an Irmo High School, Columbia, SC student. Why is Irmo High School important? .Mijhaj Arastu is the teacher the parent is concerned about. In his capacity of teacher at Irmo High School, Arastu:
1. Required the students to create a pamphlet which would teach people about Islam.
2. Spent an inordinate amount of time discussing the "5 pillars of Islam".
3. Had an "Orthodox Christian" priest speak to the class.who informed the students that all religions are based on Islam.
4. Told students that the United States is a Judeo-Christian-Muslim" nation.according to the beliefs of the founding fathers.
5. According to the student, Arastu is a passionate Muslim and is the sponsor of the school Muslim student group and was instrumental in having a portion of the school library set aside for Muslim students to pray each day. (There are no such accommodations for other faiths.)
So.we have a CAIR officer, sponsoring the school's Muslim student group, bringing in speakers who falsely claim that the founding fathers desired the fledgling United States to be a "Judeo-Christian-Muslim nation".requiring students to create Muslim pamphlets.learning about the five pillars of Islam. Just when do we Americans wake up to the threat of militant Islam in our public schools? When is "enough.enough"? What will it take to get parents, teachers, administrators, and the public to protect the public schools? We saw with our own eyes the evil of radical Islam on 9-11.we're seeing militant Islam rear its ugly head in Europe on an almost daily basis, why would we want to allow those problems to grow and fester here?
We invite our readers to read an excellent article by Dr. Daniel Pipes on the issue of Islamist influence in the public schools. The gist of Dr. Pipe's article is that Islamists are deliberately targeting our school systems in an attempt to spread propaganda to students in the tenets of Islam. Read his words carefully - you'll never be able to say you weren't warned.

Good question, Andy.
BTW, speaking of moles, some of them are the useful dhimmi idiots who ignorantly or deliberately mislead people about Islam and its history.
For example, Jim Doherty of Richmond, Virginia claims that the history of Islamic "tolerance" should be incorporated into our commemmoration of the passage of the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom in 1786.
Can you believe that sh*t???
MOLES! WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' MOLES!!
Just don't take them on a tour of the Louvre. Once these imams see for themselves what is in there, it will not be possible to save it when they next visit with torches and dynamite.
