BASRA: Large numbers of Al Qaeda fighters are still crossing freely from Saudi Arabia into Southern Iraq, according to senior military officials in Basra.Terrorists and weapons continue to flow into the country as it gears up for elections, said Colonel Jouke Spolestra, in charge of security sector reform in the southern Iraqi provinces.
Col Spolestra, of the Royal Netherlands Navy, said that despite regular military patrols and raids on suspected insurgent strongholds, British-led forces had failed to halt the trafficking in personnel and arms.
"People are coming in from Saudi Arabia, that is one cause of concern for us. There is a flow of weapons, illegal immigrants and of course even Al Qaeda. We do have patrols, but it is an open border," he said.
Notice the statement "STILL crossing freely from Saudi Arabia".
What does this tell us? To belabor the obvious:
-First, this has been going on for some time. The link below dates from August 2003, and details al-Qaeda and other insurgents were pouring into Iraq from Saudi Arabia:

-Second, the Saudis view the emergence of a powerful, Shia-dominated Iraq (democratic or not) as a direct threat to their interests, and will do everything they can get away with to undermine stability and democracy in this country.
-Third, THE SAUDIS ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS. They have been fomenting and financing anti-Western hatred and terrorism for decades. Despite claims to the contrary, they still foment and finance terrorism.
This report is more proof that the Bush honeypot doctrine is working splendidly.
The West either needs to stop being dependent on oil, or it needs to seize the oil fields from those bastards. They don't need the oil. Let em ride around on camels.
I never would have said this and meant it a few months ago, but I mean it now. Sacrificing all Islamists may be the only fix here. Our culture and families are of primary importance.

Are the Saudis really our friends? The Islamic propagada is more like Naziism. Lying, beheading, bombing, and all of the rest of the terrorist acts against innocent people are nothing more than sick hatred against mankind. All is fair in love and war. The "innocent" muslims are aware of the war and the occupying forces. War knows no victims. Get out of the way of battle to survive. The occupying forces are after the Islamic extremists. Anyone caught in the line of fire is no victim. That person is just dead. It's time to stop playing war by Islamic rules. It's time to be serious and get the job done. No more games!
