Christians and Muslims brawl in New Jersey

"Christians & Muslims Brawl," from the New York Post, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:

January 18, 2005 -- An emotional holy war broke out yesterday on the streets of Jersey City, where Muslims and Christians clashed and lobbed insults at the funeral for a devout family of Egyptian immigrants who may have been slain for their religious beliefs.

While mourners inside the St. George & St. Shenouda Coptic Orthodox Church prayed for peace in the wake of a murder that escalated religious tensions at home and abroad, fights erupted amid the crowd that spilled outside the church, where angry Coptic Christians pointed accusing fingers at their Muslim counterparts.

Hossam Armanious, 37, his wife, Amal Garas, 37, and their two daughters, Sylvia, 15, and Monica, 8, were found dead in their Oakland Avenue home early Friday after relatives told police nobody had heard from them in days.

Investigators said each victim was bound, gagged and stabbed in the neck, and the early focus was on anti-Muslim remarks Armanious made in a popular religious chat room after a relative said Armanious was threatened online for expressing his Christian beliefs.

Officials said the religious persecution theory is still under investigation, but said some evidence points to robbery as a motive.

Members of the city's Coptic community — many of whom left Egypt like Armanious to escape religious threats — believe there is a connection between their faith and the murders.

That sentiment was expressed loudly by one parishioner inside who began yelling at Muslims, including a sheik, who attended the service.

"Muslim is the killer," he said over and over before he was dragged from the church by five police officers who hustled him into an unmarked police car and quickly drove away.

Tensions were high even before the first copper-colored casket arrived, when, during a procession to the church from Journal Square, family members asked mourners to put away anti-Muslim protest signs.

But emotions really boiled over in the moments after the wistful service when a skirmish broke out as the four black hearses adorned with the victims' pictures were being loaded.

Punches were thrown, people were shoved and police rushed in to break up the brawl that had moved up Bergen Avenue to a nearby parking garage.

For a while, cops kept the crowd separated with a metal garage gate until they could restore order.

"I think people here have fueled it," family friend Henry Simon, 35, said of the tension.

"The sheik came at the wrong time. It's like spitting on their graves."

Those too sad to be angry had kind words for the deeply religious family, especially young Sylvia, who died a day before her Sweet 16 party.

If robbery were the motive — and reports have been conflicting about whether the family was robbed at all — it would be strange that the victims were all stabbed in the neck, as opposed to any other place. But then there is the possibility that they were struck in the necks for being unbelievers, in accord with Qur'an 47:4. The idea that if it were a robbery, it couldn't be a religiously-motivated killing, is silly. After all, historically Muslim warriors always plundered the victims of jihad.

Note also this interesting detail buried at the end of the story:

Investigators learned that a relative of the victims had helped prosecutors in their case against Lynne Stewart, the lawyer charged with passing messages to followers of her client, blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, a convicted terrorist ringleader.

But sources close to the case said there is no connection between the relative and the murders.

Welcome to Bizarro World. Just once, couldn't the police hustle the Muslims away from the scene?

Why won't our governments protect us from this fascistic ideology? Are they waiting for us to do it ourselves? Deportation is not inhumane. Did the United States tolerate Nazis in New Jersey during WWII? NO.

Question:

How many here would have become enraged if a "Shiek" turned up to your families funeral after they were butchered by Moslems?

(Raising hand)

I think it is all part of their PC ad campagn to throw everyone off guard. I for one would have had serious trouble restraining myself. And like Beagle said, why the hell not ask the shiek to take a walk because if he was offending one by his presence who spoke out, how many others were equally appalled at that gesture, basically a form of intimidation of the Moslem's part.

Our government, police and public have been trained by CAIR to be sensitive to the Moslem needs but F**K everyone else. This sort of double standard and prefential treatment cannot continue before there is a major purge.

Note to Department of State: All those hefty paychecks you get from the magic kingdom to promote and propagate the sell-out of your country will some day come back to haunt you. Even Egyptian Copts can no longer be safe on American soil. What's next, Sharia law in Jersey City?

Scumbags.

Aiding and Abetting the Enemy

What if domestic news outlets continually fed American readers headlines like: "Bloody Week on U.S. Highways: Some 700 Killed," or "More Than 900 Americans Die Weekly from Obesity-Related Diseases"? Both of these headlines might be true statistically, but do they really represent accurate pictures of the situations? What if you combined all of the negatives to be found in the state of Texas and used them as an indicator of the quality of life for all Texans? Imagine the headlines: "Anti-law Enforcement Elements Spread Robbery, Rape and Murder through Texas Cities." For all intents and purposes, this statement is true for any day of any year in any state. True -- yes, accurate -- yes, but in context with the greater good taking place -- no! After a year or two of headlines like these, more than a few folks back in Texas and the rest of the U.S. probably would be ready to jump off of a building and end it all. So, imagine being an American in Iraq right now.

I just read yet another distorted and grossly exaggerated story from a major news organization about the "failures" in the war in Iraq. Print and video journalists are covering only a small fraction of the events in Iraq and more often than not, the events they cover are only the bad ones. Many of the journalists making public assessments about the progress of the war in Iraq are unqualified to do so, given their training and experience. The inaccurate picture they paint has distorted the world view of the daily realities in Iraq. The result is a further erosion of international public support for the United States' efforts there, and a strengthening of the insurgents' resolve and recruiting efforts while weakening our own. Through their incomplete, uninformed and unbalanced reporting, many members of the media covering the war in Iraq are aiding and abetting the enemy.

The fact is the Coalition is making steady progress in Iraq, but not without ups and downs. War is a terrible thing and terrible things happen during wars, even when you are winning. In war, as in any contest of wills with capable opponents, things do not always go as planned; the guys with the white hats don't always come out on top in each engagement. That doesn't mean you are losing. Sure, there are some high profile and very spectacular enemy attacks taking place in Iraq these days, but the great majority of what is happening in Iraq is positive. So why is it that no matter what events unfold, good or bad, the media highlight mostly the negative aspects of the event? The journalistic adage, "If it bleeds, it leads," still applies in Iraq, but why only when it's American blood?

As a recent example, the operation in Fallujah delivered an absolutely devastating blow to the insurgency. Though much smaller in scope, clearing Fallujah of insurgents arguably could equate to the Allies' breakout from the hedgerows in France during World War II. In both cases, our troops overcame a well-prepared and solidly entrenched enemy and began what could be the latter's last stand. In Fallujah, the enemy death toll has already exceeded 1,500 and still is climbing. Put one in the win column for the good guys, right? Wrong. As soon as there was nothing negative to report about Fallujah, the media shifted its focus to other parts of the country. Just yesterday, a major news agency's website lead read: "Suicide Bomber Kills Six in Baghdad" and "Seven Marines Die in Iraq Clashes." True, yes. Comprehensive, no. Did the author of this article bother to mention that Coalition troops killed 50 or so terrorists while incurring those seven losses? Of course not. Nor was there any mention about the substantial progress these offensive operations continue to achieve in defeating the insurgents. Unfortunately, this sort of incomplete reporting has become the norm for the media, whose poor job of presenting a complete picture of what is going on in Iraq borders on being criminal.

Much of the problem is about perspective, putting things in scale and balance. From where I sit in my command post at Camp Fallujah, Iraq, things are not all bad right now. In fact, they are going quite well. We are not under attack by the enemy; on the contrary, we are taking the fight to him daily and have him on the ropes. In the distance, I can hear the repeated impacts of heavy artillery and five hundred-pound bombs hitting their targets in the city. The occasional tank main gun report and the staccato rhythm of a Marine Corps LAV or Army Bradley Fighting Vehicle's 25-millimeter cannon provide the bass line for a symphony of destruction. Right now, as elements from all four services complete the absolute annihilation of the insurgent forces remaining in Fallujah, the area around the former stronghold is more peaceful than it has been for more than a year. The number of attacks in the greater Al Anbar Province is down by at least 70-80% from late October -- before Operation Al Fajar began. The enemy in this area is completely defeated, but not completely gone. Final eradication of the pockets of insurgents will take some time, as it always does, but the fact remains that the central geographic stronghold of the insurgents is now under friendly control. That sounds a lot like success to me.

Given all of this, why don't the papers lead with "Coalition Crushes Remaining Pockets of Insurgents" or "Enemy Forces Resort to Suicide Bombings of Civilians"? This would paint a far more accurate picture of the enemy's predicament over here. Instead, headlines focus almost exclusively on our hardships.

What about the media's portrayal of the enemy? Why do these ruthless murderers, kidnappers and thieves get a pass when it comes to their actions? What did the media not show or tell us about Margaret Hassoon, the director of C.A.R.E. in Iraq and an Iraqi citizen, who was kidnapped, brutally tortured and left disemboweled in streets of Fallujah? Did anyone in the press show these images over and over to emphasize the moral failings of the enemy as they did with the soldiers at Abu Ghuraib? Did anyone show the world how this enemy had huge stockpiles of weapons in schools and mosques, or how he used these protected places as sanctuaries for planning and fighting in Fallujah and the rest of Iraq? Are people of the world getting the complete story? The answer again is no! What the world got instead were repeated images of a battle-weary Marine who made a quick decision to use lethal force and who now is being tried in the world press. Is this one act really illustrative of the overall action in Fallujah? No, but the Marine video clip was shown an average of four times each hour on just about every major TV news channel for a week. This is how the world views our efforts over here and stories like this without a counter continually serve as propaganda victories for the enemy. Al Jazeera isn't showing the film of the CARE worker, but is showing the clip of the Marine. Earlier this year, the Iraqi government banned Al Jazeera from the country for its inaccurate reporting. Wonder where they get their information now? Well, if you go to the Internet, you'll find a web link from the Al Jazeera home page to CNN's home page. Very interesting.

The operation in Fallujah is only one of the recent examples of incomplete coverage of the events in Iraq. The battle in Najaf last August provides another. Television and newspapers spilled a continuous stream of images and stories about the destruction done to the sacred city, and of all the human suffering allegedly brought about by the hands of the big, bad Americans. These stories and the lack of anything to counter them gave more fuel to the fire of anti-Americanism that burns in this part of the world. Those on the outside saw the Coalition portrayed as invaders or oppressors, killing hapless Iraqis who, one was given to believe, simply were trying to defend their homes and their Muslim way of life.

Reality couldn't have been farther from the truth. What noticeably was missing were accounts of the atrocities committed by the Mehdi Militia -- Muqtada Al Sadr's band of henchmen. While the media was busy bashing the Coalition, Muqtada's boys were kidnapping policemen, city council members and anyone else accused of supporting the Coalition or the new government, trying them in a kangaroo court based on Islamic Shari'a law, then brutally torturing and executing them for their "crimes." What the media didn't show or write about were the two hundred-plus headless bodies found in the main mosque there, or the body that was put into a bread oven and baked. Nor did they show the world the hundreds of thousands of mortar, artillery and small arms rounds found within the "sacred" walls of the mosque. Also missing from the coverage was the huge cache of weapons found in Muqtada's "political" headquarters nearby. No, none of this made it to the screen or to print. All anyone showed were the few chipped tiles on the dome of the mosque and discussion centered on how we, the Coalition, had somehow done wrong. Score another one for the enemy's propaganda machine.

Now, compare the Najaf example to the coverage and debate ad nauseam of the Abu Ghuraib Prison affair. There certainly is no justification for what a dozen or so soldiers did there, but unbalanced reporting led the world to believe that the actions of the dozen were representative of the entire military. This has had an incredibly negative effect on Middle Easterners' already sagging opinion of the U.S. and its military. Did anyone show the world images of the 200 who were beheaded and mutilated in Muqtada's Shari'a Law court, or spend the next six months talking about how horrible all of that was? No, of course not. Most people don't know that these atrocities happened. It's little wonder that many people here want us out and would vote someone like Muqtada Al Sadr into office given the chance -- they never see the whole truth. Strange, when the enemy is the instigator the media does not flash images across the screens of televisions in the Middle East as they did with Abu Ghuraib. Is it because the beheaded bodies might offend someone? If so, then why do we continue see photos of the naked human pyramid over and over?

So, why doesn't the military get more involved in showing the media the other side of the story? The answer is they do. Although some outfits are better than others, the Army and other military organizations today understand the importance of getting out the story -- the whole story -- and trains leaders to talk to the press. There is a saying about media and the military that goes: "The only way the media is going to tell a good story is if you give them one to tell." This doesn't always work as planned. Recently, when a Coalition spokesman tried to let TV networks in on opening moves in the Fallujah operation, they misconstrued the events for something they were not and then blamed the military for their gullibility. CNN recently aired a "special report" in which the cable network accused the military of lying to it and others about the beginning of the Fallujah operation. The incident referred to took place in October when a Marine public affairs officer called media representatives and told them that an operation was about to begin. Reporters rushed to the outskirts of Fallujah to see what they assumed was going to be the beginning of the main attack on the city. As it turned out, what they saw were tactical "feints" designed to confuse the enemy about the timing of the main attack, then planned to take place weeks later.

Once the network realized that major combat operations wouldn't start for several more weeks, CNN alleged that the Marines had used them as a tool for their deception operation. Now, they say they want answers from the military and the administration on the matter. The reality appears to be that in their zeal to scoop their competition, CNN and others took the information they were given and turned it into what they wanted it to be. Did the military lie to the media: no. It is specifically against regulations to provide misinformation to the press. However, did the military planners anticipate that reporters would take the ball and run with it, adding to the overall deception plan? Possibly. Is that unprecedented or illegal? Of course not.

CNN and others say they were duped by the military in this and other cases. Yet, they never seem to be upset by the undeniable fact that the enemy manipulates them with a cunning that is almost worthy of envy. You can bet that terrorist leader Abu Musab Al Zarqarwi has his own version of a public affairs officer and it is evident that he uses him to great effect. Each time Zarqarwi's group executes a terrorist act such as a beheading or a car bomb, they have a prepared statement ready to post on their website and feed to the press. Over-eager reporters take the bait, hook, line and sinker, and report it just as they got it.

Did it ever occur to the media that this type of notoriety is just what the terrorists want and need? Every headline they grab is a victory for them. Those who have read the ancient Chinese military theorist and army general Sun Tsu will recall the philosophy of "Kill one, scare ten thousand" as the basic theory behind the strategy of terrorism. Through fear, the terrorist can then manipulate the behavior of the masses. The media allows the terrorist to use relatively small but spectacular events that directly affect very few, and spread them around the world to scare millions. What about the thousands of things that go right every day and are never reported? Complete a multi-million-dollar sewer project and no one wants to cover it, but let one car bomb go off and it makes headlines. With each headline, the enemy scores another point and the good-guys lose one. This method of scoring slowly is eroding domestic and international support while fueling the enemy's cause.

I believe one of the reasons for this shallow and subjective reporting is that many reporters never actually cover the events they report on. This is a point of growing concern within the Coalition. It appears many members of the media are hesitant to venture beyond the relative safety of the so-called "International Zone" in downtown Baghdad, or similar "safe havens" in other large cities. Because terrorists and other thugs wisely target western media members and others for kidnappings or attacks, the westerners stay close to their quarters. This has the effect of holding the media captive in cities and keeps them away from the broader truth that lies outside their view. With the press thus cornered, the terrorists easily feed their unwitting captives a thin gruel of anarchy, one spoonful each day. A car bomb at the entry point to the International Zone one day, a few mortars the next, maybe a kidnapping or two thrown in. All delivered to the doorsteps of those who will gladly accept it without having to leave their hotel rooms -- how convenient.

The scene is repeated all too often: an attack takes place in Baghdad and the morning sounds are punctuated by a large explosion and a rising cloud of smoke. Sirens wail in the distance and photographers dash to the scene a few miles away. Within the hour, stern-faced reporters confidently stare into the camera while standing on the balcony of their tenth-floor Baghdad hotel room, their back to the city and a distant smoke plume rising behind them. More mayhem in Gotham City they intone, and just in time for the morning news. There is a transparent reason why the majority of car bombings and other major events take place before noon Baghdad-time; any later and the event would miss the start of the morning news cycle on the U.S. east coast. These terrorists aren't stupid; they know just what to do to scare the masses and when to do it. An important key to their plan is manipulation of the news media. But, at least the reporters in Iraq are gathering information and filing their stories, regardless of whether or the stories are in perspective. Much worse are the "talking heads" who sit in studios or offices back home and pontificate about how badly things are going when they never have been to Iraq and only occasionally leave Manhattan.

Almost on a daily basis, newspapers, periodicals and airwaves give us negative views about the premises for this war and its progress. It seems that everyone from politicians to pop stars are voicing their unqualified opinions on how things are going. Recently, I saw a Rolling Stone magazine and in bold print on the cover was, "Iraq on Fire; Dispatches from the Lost War." Now, will someone please tell me who at Rolling Stone or just about any other "news" outlet is qualified to make a determination as to when all is lost and it's time to throw in the towel? In reality, such flawed reporting serves only to misshape world opinion and bolster the enemy's position. Each enemy success splashed across the front pages and TV screens of the world not only emboldens them, but increases their ability to recruit more money and followers.

So what are the credentials of these self proclaimed "experts"? The fact is that most of those on whom we rely for complete and factual accounts have little or no experience or education in counter-insurgency operations or in nation-building to support their assessments. How would they really know if things are going well or not? War is an ugly thing with many unexpected twists and turns. Who among them is qualified to say if this one is worse than any other at this point? What would they have said in early 1942 about our chances of winning World War II? Was it a lost cause too? How much have these "experts" studied warfare and counter-insurgencies in particular? Have they ever read Roger Trinquier's treatise Modern Warfare: A French View on Counter-insurgency (1956)? He is one of the few French military guys who got it right. The Algerian insurgency of the 1950s and the Iraq insurgency have many similarities. What about Napoleon's campaigns in Sardinia in 1805-07? Again, there are a lot of similarities to this campaign. Have they studied that and contrasted the strategies? Or, have they even read Mao Zedung's theories on insurgencies, or Nygen Giap's, or maybe Che' Gueverra's? Have they seen any of Sun Zsu's work lately? Who are these guys? It's time to start studying, folks. If a journalist doesn't recognize the names on this list, he or she probably isn't qualified to assess the state of this or any other campaign's progress.

Worse yet, why in the world would they seek opinion from someone who probably knows even less than they do about the state of affairs in Iraq? It sells commercials, I suppose. But, I find it amazing that some people are more apt to listen to a movie star's or rock singer's view on how we should prosecute world affairs than to someone whose profession it is to know how these things should go. I play the guitar, but Bruce Springsteen doesn't listen to me play. Why should I be subjected to his views on the validity of the war? By profession, he's a guitar player. Someone remind me what it is that makes Sean Penn an expert on anything. It seems that anyone who has a dissenting view is first to get in front of the camera. I'm all for freedom of speech, but let's talk about things we know. Otherwise, television news soon could have about as much credibility as "The Batchelor" has for showing us truly loving couples.

Also bothersome are references by "experts" on how "long" this war is taking. I've read that in the world of manufacturing, you can have only two of the following three qualities when developing a product -- cheap, fast or good. You can produce something cheap and fast, but it won't be good; good and fast, but it won't be cheap; good and cheap, but it won't be fast. In this case, we want the result to be good and we want it at the lowest cost in human lives. Given this set of conditions, one can expect this war is to take a while, and rightfully so. Creating a democracy in Iraq not only will require a change in the political system, but the economic system as well. Study of examples of similar socio-economic changes that took place in countries like Chile, Bulgaria, Serbia, Russia and other countries with oppressive Socialist dictatorships shows that it took seven to ten years to move those countries to where they are now. There are many lessons to be learned from these transformations, the most important of which is that change doesn't come easily, even without an insurgency going on. Maybe the experts should take a look at all of the work that has gone into stabilizing Bosnia-Herzegovina over the last 10 years. We are just at the eighteen-month mark in Iraq, a place far more oppressive than Bosnia ever was. If previous examples are any comparison, there will be no quick solutions here, but that should be no surprise to an analyst who has done his or her homework.

This war is not without its tragedies; none ever are. The key to the enemy's success is use of his limited assets to gain the greatest influence over the masses. The media serves as the glass through which a relatively small event can be magnified to international proportions, and the enemy is exploiting this with incredible ease. There is no good news to counteract the bad, so the enemy scores a victory almost every day. In its zeal to get to the hot spots and report the latest bombing, the media is missing the reality of a greater good going on in Iraq. We seldom are seen doing anything right or positive in the news. People believe what they see, and what people of the world see almost on a daily basis is negative. How could they see it any other way? These images and stories, out of scale and context to the greater good going on over here, are just the sort of thing the terrorists are looking for. This focus on the enemy's successes strengthens his resolve and aids and abets his cause. It's the American image abroad that suffers in the end.
Ironically, the press freedom that we have brought to this part of the world is providing support for the enemy we fight. I obviously think it's a disgrace when many on whom the world relies for news paint such an incomplete picture of what actually has happened. Much too much is ignored or omitted. I am confident that history will prove our cause right in this war, but by the time that happens, the world might be so steeped in the gloom of ignorance we won't recognize victory when we achieve it

Who had the stupidity to invite a Muslim religious leader to the funeral of a Christian family that was slain by Muslims? Unless the family knew the sheik and were aware that he was not a militant, the sheik should not have been invited to the funeral. Has our society lost all common sense?

"It doesn't appear to be random," said Assistant Hudson County Prosecutor Guy Gregory. "It appears to be a specific act. Someone was able to gain access without forcing entry."
Investigators learned that a relative of the victims had helped prosecutors in their case against Lynne Stewart, the lawyer charged with passing messages to followers of her client, blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, a convicted terrorist ringleader.

Muslims were seen 'lobbing' insults at a Catholic funeral procession? Were any unruly muslims arrested for disorderly conduct?
Probably not . . .but why?

I'm very concerned about the lack of news coverage in msm, and even more concerned about the spin the police investigation is suggesting to the press. Does anyone really believe these murders had anything to do with robbery?

Yesterday, 'Greg' posted a link to a story about yet another 'questionable' attack that took place in NJ during the weekend. That article was posted online by ABC News but wasn't mentioned by any other msm.

Severed Head Found Near Movie Theater

Hazlet, N.J.-WABC, January 16, 2005) — A gruesome discovery in New Jersey, as a severed head and body are found near a movie theater in Monmouth County.

http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/news/wabc_011605_bodyfound.html

Two murderous events - yielding the cut throat signature of muslim jurisprudence - during same weekend - all within a 35 mile range in New Jersey. And yet, precious little exposure is provided in the msm, stiffling any outcry. If the intent of the police/media is to stiffle vigilanteism - they may be surprised to see it backfire.

OT - I did not see any public service announcements (PSA provided by CAIR) on (or around) Fox's presentation of 24 last night. I also could not find any verification of specific footage that was cut from this series to appease CAIR. Did any of you?

Sounds really far-fetched ....

But how long untill This area in New Jersey kills or runs off all non Muslims?....how long befor New Jersey and others like her become Americas "west-bank",
With Islam calling for the the return of ajacent lands claimied for Allah by the Muslim belivers who came over with Columbus?

I would never have thought I would see Falluga style military action above the "national-gaurd level" on AMERICAN soil....

now im not so sure that "Full-on" military opps in AMERICA are beyond the realm of possibility.
Within the next 20 years.

And the kj piece for this week- another, Major reason why the jihadists are getting away with this:

* end of chronology *

My comments:

The timeline neatly demolishes two constantly repeated myths about Islamic terrorism:

1) Muslims who commit acts of terror come from poor backgrounds and are ignorant and uneducated. Momin was obviously from a well-off family and had a first class education.

2) Muslims who commit acts of terror are ignorant of their own religion and are duped into violent acts by Muslims who tell them lies about their religion. Momin actually taught Koran reading and Islamic history.

So what we can learn from Mr. Khawaja's very instructive case? Obviously, poverty does not cause people to commit violent acts; ideology causes them to commit violent acts. Since ideology causes people to commit violent acts, then the obvious solution is to regulate or ban the ideology that causes people to commit these violent acts.

I hope that you will post the article with my comments.

Thank you for your continued courageous defence of Western Civilization.

Sincerely,

Admiral Don Juan

I don't believe it is neccessary to ban islam in America.
Simply call it what it is, and remove its classification as a religion and all the government enforced protections and privledges.
Let the truth be known, and the people will reject it.
Immigration is a matter where regulation is appropriate, no muslims period.

"Christians and Muslims brawl in New Jersey"

Good. Keep pushing muslims. All the silver-tongued taqiyya from CAIR and their ilk won't be enough to cover the cold hard facts. Muslim actions in the name of islam is what creates hostility from the non-muslim world. Keep it up. You're your own worst enemy!

The reason why Americans are so passive about combating the Mohamadens is because most people under the age of 50 or so lack any knowledge of Western history and the fact that moslems have been killing Westerners whenever they have a chance - until the victim nations eventually rise up and chase them from their lands. Ask your children or grandchildren if they ever learned of the Crusades in school, or the slaughter or Armenians by Turks? The answer will be no. But they do know all about AIDS, homosexual marriage, and how Columbus "destroyed" North America by introducing Christianity to a bunch of hunter-gatherers.

Until we take back our schools (and media) from the left, we have only ourselves to blame.

Anybody on the board in that area? What are people saying on the streets up there?

f.g.

The idea that the murders have anything to do with a distant relative being a translator in the Lynne Stewart case is a total canard. It hasn't been proven that the family was murdered for being infidels, but I believe it will be. And when it is, don't expect to see the story on the front page of the NY Times, which has a piece today emphasizing how rude the Christians were to the nice Muslims who crashed their funeral.

OT - I did not see any public service announcements (PSA provided by CAIR) on (or around) Fox's presentation of 24 last night. I also could not find any verification of specific footage that was cut from this series to appease CAIR. Did any of you?

The Arab/Muslim Nazi Connection
Left: A picture taken in 1943 of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin el-Husseini reviewing Bosnian-Muslim troops - a unit of the "Hanjar (Saber) Division" of the Waffen SS which he personally recruited for Hitler.

The Führer's Mufti: After World War I, the Great Powers of Europe jockeyed for influence in the Middle East's oil fields and trade routes, with France and Britain holding mandates throughout most of the region. In the 1930s, the fascist regimes that arose in Italy and Germany sought greater stakes in the area, and began courting Arab leaders to revolt against their British and French custodians. Among their many willing accomplices was Jerusalem Mufti Haj Amin el-Husseini, who fled Palestine after agitating against the British during the Arab Revolt of 1936-39. He found refuge in Iraq – another of Her Majesty's mandates – where he again topped the British most wanted list after helping pull the strings behind the Iraqi coup of 1941. The revolt in Baghdad was orchestrated by Hitler as part of a strategy to squeeze the region between the pincers of Rommel's troops in North Africa, German forces in the Caucuses and pro-Nazi forces in Iraq. However, in June 1941 British troops put down the rebellion and the Mufti escaped via Tehran to Italy and eventually to Berlin.
Once in Berlin, the Mufti received an enthusiastic reception by the "Islamische Zentralinstitut" and the whole Islamic community of Germany, which welcomed him as the "Führer of the Arabic world." In an introductory speech, he called the Jews the "most fierce enemies of the Muslims" and an "ever corruptive element" in the world. Husseini soon became an honored guest of the Nazi leadership and met on several occasions with Hitler. He personally lobbied the Führer against the plan to let Jews leave Hungary, fearing they would immigrate to Palestine. He also strongly intervened when Adolf Eichman tried to cut a deal with the British government to exchange German POWs for 5000 Jewish children who also could have fled to Palestine. The Mufti's protests with the SS were successful, as the children were sent to death camps in Poland instead. One German officer noted in his journals that the Mufti would liked to have seen the Jews "preferably all killed." On a visit to Auschwitz, he reportedly admonished the guards running the gas chambers to work more diligently. Throughout the war, he appeared regularly on German radio broadcasts to the Middle East, preaching his pro-Nazi, anti-Semitic message to the Arab masses back home.

Check out this link to see how CAIR defended Khwaja and used the standard "Innocent until proven guilty" mantra that so famous for CAIR and their ilk. What CAIR really means is "Catch us if you can" while we use the courts and democratic
system to avoid arrests for terrorism related activity.

CAIR has defend three Terrorist related cases dealing with Muslims that are portrayed as "Victims" of Islamophobia or profiling.

Here's another link to the firebombing of a jewish school by Muslims,CAIR once again denied any Arab/Muslim connection.
Today in the local paper the 19 year old that
comitted the arson blamed it on being incited by the attacks on the Palestinians and the
death of the Hamas leader by the Israeli Army.
The kid got 40 months in jail and I don't see CAIR mentioning this outcome,I remember the usual rant about how people should make Arab and Muslims scapegoats for their bigotry by blaming the attack on them while no arrests have been made to prove any guilt.

Here's the trial results in todays paper, take note how his Mother was involve too, those Islamic Family-values bring tears to my eyes.
Muslims wanted this terrorist to serve time in the community and not jail,DUH.. he was in the community when he firebombed the Jewish school
because of his lack of self-control.

Islam is not a race, and "Islamophobia" is not a word. Try to look it up in any dictionary, it's not in there.

The pillars of society over at these Muslim organizations should find a new gimmick, because they've worn this one out. I agree with the confronting of Muslims. They're irrational (most) and hot tempered (most). This leaves them open to losing control and committing many crimes that are on the books here, landing them in jail. If they break the law, they break the law, no matter what race, religion or culture they represent. If they're in America, they should be representing and respecting America.

Let their own arrogance and lack of self control defeat them. Annoy them, inconvenience them, irritate them. They'll become very out of whack, very quickly. I've seen it first hand. Actually, it's quite amusing.

Take no crap from anyone while in your own back yards. Remind them where they are. But be smart about it. No one can lure an imbecile like we Americans, we've been doing it for centuries. We are the masters of litigation, and the masters of the spy game. We're the world's leader in military power, and the richest nation in the world.

Always have a witness, make no open threats, be smart, and turn this all around on them. The peaceful ones will not create problems. The ones who should be in jail or deported, can be reeled in like fish.

Montreal firebomber sentenced to prison
Last Updated Tue, 18 Jan 2005 13:02:08 EST
MONTREAL - A man charged with firebombing a Jewish elementary school in Montreal last year has been sentenced to 40 months in jail.
But the judge gave Sleiman Elmerhebi credit for the eight months he has already spent in detention, which counts as double time, leaving him with a two year sentence.
Elmerhebi, 19, pleaded guilty last month to starting a fire that destroyed the library at the United Talmud Torah school.
He said it was an emotional reaction to the situation in the Middle East.
Quebec Court Judge Jean Sirois said judges must send the message that such acts will not be tolerated. Sirois rejected a defence request that Elmerhebi serve his sentence in the community.
The defence and the Crown agreed the firebombing was a hate crime.
Crown prosecutor Anne Aubé had requested Elmerhebi serve two years in prison for what she called his "act of terrorism." The maximum sentence for arson is 14 years.
In December, the teenager admitted his guilt as part of a plea bargain with the prosecution. The deal meant there was no trial.
FROM DEC. 16, 2004: Guilty plea in Jewish school firebombing
In exchange for his guilty plea on the arson count, the prosecution announced it had no evidence to present against Elmerhebi on a conspiracy charge.
Elmerhebi's mother, Rouba Elmerhebi Fahd, is charged with being an accessory after the fact and has pleaded not guilty.
She's free on $10,000 bail and is awaiting a court date.
MONTREAL - Montreal police have stepped up security around Jewish institutions and Muslim mosques following yesterday's firebombing of a Jewish school in the borough of St. Laurent.
The Library of the United Talmud Torah school was destroyed and an anti-semitic note was left on the door.
Police said that a previously unknown group is claiming responsibility. The fire was apparently set in response to the situation in the Middle East.
No one was hurt and the school is closed for Passover.
The fire provoked angry denunciations of anti-semitic violence from Prime Minister Paul Martin, Premier Jean Charest and a number of other politicians and community leaders
• FROM APR. 5, 2004: Increased security for Jewish community
In response to the incident, Montreal Mayor Gérald Tremblay said he may consider having a specialized hate crimes division created within the police department.
Tremblay said he will discuss creating a hate crimes division with Montreal's public security director Peter Yeomans.

Teen acquitted of firebombing Jewish school
MONTREAL - One of three people charged in connection with setting fire to the library at Montreal's United Talmud Torah school is free on all charges
Simon Zogheib, who was accused of conspiracy and arson in the April attack, was acquitted Tuesday after a brief preliminary hearing.
Sleiman Elmerhebi, 18, still faces charges of conspiracy and arson. His mother, 36-year old Rouba Elmerhebi, is accused of being an accessory after the fact.
The Crown announced it had no evidence against Zogheib to present to the court.
"The accused had given an explanation and it was evaluated," said prosecutor Anne Aubé. "Because of that explanation, the charges were dropped."
Relieved to be free
Zogheib did not have much to say after his court appearance, except that he is relieved the six-month ordeal is over.
"It feels good. It feels good to be free," said the 18-year old.
Jewish community wants justice
The Jewish community has been keeping a close watch on the proceedings. The president of Quebec's branch of the Canadian Jewish Congress, Jeffrey Boro, said he is content with the outcome.
"The community wants to see justice. If there's insufficient evidence against someone, I think they should not be held."
Stephen Slimovitch of B'nai Brith agrees there was insignificant evidence against Zogheib, but he wants to see justice done.
"We are interested in seeing those responsible punished."
Sleiman Elmerhebi remains in custody until he returns to court, with his mother, to set a date for a preliminary hearing in December.
A court-ordered reporting ban prevents details of the case from being published.
After the library firebombing, B'nai Brith released a report showing an increase in anti-Semitic incidents across the country in 2003. It said there were almost 600 cases of violence, harassment and vandalism against Jews and over 100 such incidents in Quebec alone

Satellite Loss Cuts Pacific Islands From World
Tuesday, January 18, 2005

WELLINGTON, New Zealand — The loss of a communications satellite () left 10 South Pacific nations and territories without telephone contact with the outside world, New Zealand communications officials said Tuesday.
A further five Pacific states and three Asian territories were also affected but had alternative backups available, Telecom New Zealand Ltd. said in a statement.
In what satellite operator Intelsat Ltd. () called an extremely rare event, one of its satellites moved out of alignment and was lost on Saturday. The New Zealand () communications company rented capacity on the lost Intelsat unit.
The satellite's loss left the Pacific Island nations of Kiribati, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu, the New Zealand-administered Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau and the U.S. territory of American Samoa without communications links to other states, Telecom said.
The other countries were also affected but could plug into backup systems.
Telecom spokeswoman Sarah Berry said communications had since been restored to the Cook Islands, Samoa and the Solomon Islands and most of the islands still without satellite services will have local phone and data services but will be without international calling and data access until alternative arrangements can be made.
"Bank services, [electronic cash] services ... and airline data circuits have also been impacted and this could lead to some flight delays to and from these locations," Berry said.

Air Force Jet, Crop-Duster Collide
Tuesday, January 18, 2005

FREDERICK, Okla. — An Air Force () training jet and a crop-duster () collided Tuesday plane over southwestern Oklahoma, killing the crop-duster pilot, authorities said.
The T-37 training jet from Sheppard Air Force Base (
) in Wichita Falls, Texas, struck the crop duster over a rural area southeast of Frederick, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman John Clabes said. The wreckage fell into a field.
The pilot of the crop duster was killed in the crash, which was reported around 11:30 a.m., said Jimmie Goodin, a dispatcher for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in Altus.
Another highway patrol dispatcher, Della Adler, said the two Air Force pilots who were aboard the trainer survived. They apparently ejected from their airplane and parachuted to safety, she said.
The collision happened at about 5,000 feet.
A spokesman at the Air Force base said he had no immediate information about the crash

India: Pakistan Fired Across Kashmir Line
Tuesday, January 18, 2005

NEW DELHI — India accused Pakistani soldiers Tuesday of firing mortar shells across the dividing line in Kashmir () in the first violation of a 14-month cease-fire between the South Asian nuclear-armed rivals.
The cease-fire was the longest since an insurgent campaign in the divided Himalayan province began in 1989. Both countries claim the mainly Muslim, former princely state in its entirety and have fought two wars over it.
A senior army official said there were no casualties on the Indian side of the heavily militarized frontier known as the Line of Control (), and Indian troops had not retaliated.
"It certainly is a violation of the cease-fire. We have exercised full restraint," Maj. Gen. Deepak Summanwar told the private NDTV news channel. "Seven to eight rounds of mortars were fired. All our patrols and ambushes have been alerted."
The cease-fire was agreed to in November 2003.
Indian military officials in Kashmir said the firing may have been carried out to provide cover to a batch of Islamic militants crossing into the Indian side of Kashmir from the Pakistan-controlled part of the Himalayan region.
Rebels based in Pakistan routinely cross over to India to wage attacks as part of their campaign to carve out a separate homeland or merge the Indian-controlled area into Pakistan.
Routine firing by both sides began in 1989

Catherine:

Check out the CBC story below, the peaceful Allah loving Muslim named Gamil Ghrabi slaughtered 19 female students that he felt were
going to take jobs away from men.
The media has yet to tell the truth that his Muslim father was abusive and followed the Quranic teachings for controling his wife,Gamil changed his name to Marc Lepine so he could blend in easier with Canadian culture.
Gamil made it clear he was after the females in the classroom since he told the males to leave and they wouldn't be harmed. Thanks to the media and Gamil's hidden ID the feminists have gotten millions from the Government for their violence against women campaigns, all Canadian male are blamed for the actions of a misogynistic Muslim
that performed Jihad by killing the unbelievers
and then turning the rifle on himself to be in paradise with Allah.
CAIR-Canada has supressed this information from their website and after the Theo Van Gogh murder by a Muslim I doubt people in the Canadian media wont to push this issue since they may be the next victim of this peaceful faith called Islam.

http://archives.cbc.ca/IDC-1-70-398-2237/disasters_tragedies/montreal_massacre/clip3

It is now becoming quite common for gruesome atrocities, such as the murder of this Coptic Christian family, to occur even in the West. There is no real evidence of it being RoP related, but the MO gives an indication.

Last month in London, just before Christams, a Turkish muslim went on the rampage, knifing one man to death, and leaving several critically injured. Last month again, a young Scottish lad was murdered and burnt by several muslim young men. Then of course the ritual slaying of Van Gogh.

The above are some reports that have come through the filter; the filter that is now being applied by the media, not to identify the religion of the alleged perpetrator, particularly if the religion is islam. The BBC, AP and others, disguise such atrocities as random acts of violence, robbery gone wrong, or the work of an insane individual. But truth will out someday, and then I'm afraid there will be reckoning.

Islamists OTH want a reckoning to start ie the start of anarchy. A state of anarchy is what islam thrives on, as it is then that islamists will offer islam as the vehicle to bring peace to dar ul harb ie the prophesy of the koran coming true.

It is thus in the interests of all true muslims to besiege and beggar the infidel state. To overwhelm its courts by legal actions of islamophobia, to overwhelm its prisons, hospitals, maternity wards, social security systems, security apparatus, and all other institutions of the state. It is in the interests of the islam to bring about the collapse of the state and encourage anarchy.

This is false. The 'brawling' was between fellow Copts, not Muslims and Copts. Of course the Post is not know for it's nuance and neither is Robert Spencer.

Islam is not a race, and "Islamophobia" is not a word. Try to look it up in any dictionary, it's not in there.

Yes it is.

Rupert,

It's a shame when your attempts to look superior backfire and make you look like an idiot, isn't it?

Your link leads to this: "No entry found for islamaphobia."

First of all , none of you, knows how things really goes in southern egypt, people there are significally stupid, revenge is a very big thing, and hossam's family was originally from there, so there is a big probalilty that whoever killed them was originally form there too, so you don't have to blame all muslims for the mistakes of some f**kers, their religion is terrorizing, but believe me, this is not islam, and probaly that shiek who showed up, never meant any harm, but i agree it was a stupid move,
so please don't judge poeple, just because some people that they share religion with are f**kers,

Your link leads to this: "No entry found for islamaphobia."

No superiority involved. Just fixing errors. Happy?

You seam to be a mulsum so can you explain these to me ??

TORTURE:
Qur’an 5:33 “The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Prophet and make mischief in the land, is to murder them, crucify them, or cut off a hand and foot on opposite sides...their doom is dreadful. They will not escape the fire, suffering constantly.”

Tabari VIII:122/Ishaq:515 “The Prophet gave orders concerning Kinanah to Zubayr, saying, ‘Torture him until you root out and extract what he has. So Zubayr kindled a fire on Kinanah’s chest, twirling it with his firestick until Kinanah was near death. Then the Messenger gave him to Maslamah, who beheaded him.”

Bukhari:V4B54N487 “The Prophet said, ‘The Hell Fire is 69 times hotter than ordinary worldly fires.’ So someone said, ‘Allah’s Apostle, wouldn’t this ordinary fire have been sufficient to torture the unbelievers?’”

Bukhari:V4B52N260 “Ali burnt some [former Muslims alive] and this news reached Ibn Abbas, who said, ‘Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, “Don’t punish with Allah’s Punishment.” No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, “If a Muslim discards his Islamic religion, kill him.”’”

Qur’an 48:27 “If the Muslims had not been there, We would have punished the unbelievers with a grievous torture.”

Qur’an 9:5 “When the sacred forbidden months for fighting are past, fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, torture them, and lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Ishaq:550 “The Muslims met them with their swords. They cut through many arms and skulls. Only confused cries and groans could be heard over our battle roars and snarling.”

Qur’an 5:37 “The [Christian] disbelievers will long to get out of the Fire, but never will they get out there from; and theirs will be an enduring torture.”

Tabari IX:6 “The chief sheep tender sent out spies to obtain intelligence. But they came back with their joints dislocated. When he asked what had happened, they said, ‘We saw white men on black horses. Before we could resist, we were struck as you see us now.”

Ishaq:595 “The Apostle said, ‘Get him away from me and cut off his tongue.””

Ishaq:312 “Umar said to the Apostle, ‘Let me pull out Suhayl’s two front teeth. That way his tongue will stick out and he will never be able to speak against you again.’”

Ishaq:316 “Following Badr, Muhammad sent a number of raiders with orders to capture some of the Meccans and burn them alive.”

Qur’an 8:12 “Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: ‘I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes.”

Tabari VII:133/Ishaq:387 “When Muhammad saw Hamzah he said, ‘If Allah gives me victory over the Quraysh at any time, I shall mutilate thirty of their men!’ When the Muslims saw the rage of the Prophet they said, ‘By Allah, if we are victorious over them, we shall mutilate them in a way which no Arab has ever mutilated anybody.”

Tabari VIII:96 “A raiding party led by Zayd set out against Umm in Ramadan. During it, Umm suffered a cruel death. Zyad tied her legs with rope and then tied her between two camels until they split her in two. She was a very old woman. Then they brought Umm’s daughter and Abdallah to the Messenger. Umm’s daughter belonged to Salamah who had captured her. Muhammad asked Salamah for her, and Salamah gave her to him.”

After all with all that CUTTING OF OF HEADS BY MULSUMS AROUND THE WORLD ???

so can you explain these things and do you believe them??

"But sources close to the case said there is no connection between the relative and the murders"

Well not yet, I am pretty sure they have to catch the perpetrator first. Then they will know if there is a connection or not. I hope the close sources are not the ones doing the investigation.

It is most troubling to read that some are positing robbery as the motive for the killing of this family in NJ. I believe this is done to throw people off the scent, lest there be an uprising and outrage against the Islamic religion, which there rightfully should be. This is dishonest and biased journalism. Anyone can figure this out.

I know what is happening here.

Two things. the Administration and indeed the US has been corrupted and coopted by Saudi Money, as we speak the Saudis fund "Muslim Charities" (meaning Islamic propaganda and mosques. The Bush family is partners with the Saudis, especially in the Carlyle Group Stop The Carlyle Group>/a>

Prince Bandar is called Bandar Bush in the Bush family and is a privileged guest at Crawford.

Google Images Bandar Bush and see for yourself.

On top of that, the authorities are scared witless of sectarian violence, memories of the Watts Riot, the Rodney King Riots, Civil Rights Riots still ring in their head, in fact they have a plan for dealing with them, involving the military called Operation Garden Plot.

They will do anything to placate the Muslims, and put a lid on violence, they don't want our dirty underwear exposed. The underwear that this administration and past have been welcoming Muslim immigrants like long lost friends, to the tune of 10 million Muslims in America, with the largest concentrations in New Jersey, Detroit and Miami Dade County.

Thus they will obfuscate, lie, cover up evidence and throw cayenne pepper on the trail, anything at all to keep a lid on the pressure cooker and to protect the "poor suffering Muslims"

Yes, it is likely that the Islamofascists murdered this family. However, it is possible that there was another motive.

Remember in the Oklahoma City bombing originally the press and networks thought it was Radical Islamists who were responsible. Later on when McVeigh and Nichols were apprehended, it made the media people who said the Islamofascists did it look bad. And it set back the war against Radical Islam (which wasn't much of a war at that time anyway).

So my point is to hold fire until the police and FBI develop suspects. If it turns out, as we all think it will, that Islamofascists murdered the family, then I expect the impact politically and socially will be great.

Here's a comment from a british site that made me laugh when I read the part about "A True"
Muslim rant that's the new tripe from the followers of Muhammed the pedophile.

Quote:
Ahmed Sheded, the president of the Islamic Center of Jersey City who attended the ceremony, denounced the slayings.
''We feel this is something that was very far away from our community," he said. ''A REAL MUSLIM CAN'T DO THAT. Any religious person who believes in God cannot do this, even to an animal."
The regional head of the Coptic church also cautioned against a rush to judgment, but Monir Dowoud, president of the American Coptic Association, said Sunday that ''Muslim terrorists" were responsible. The Coptic Orthodox Church is one of the oldest communities in Christendom.
According to tradition, it was founded in the first century by Saint Mark, one of the 12 apostles of Jesus.

BTW sparrow:

Check out this site that proved a Islamist connection to the Oklahoma bombing and McVeigh's tour of duty in the Gulf war where he met Islamists in Saudi Arabia.

"Two things. the Administration and indeed the US has been corrupted and coopted by Saudi Money" Posted by: Giaour

Just so you know,

"In October 2002 the IMF gave the Saudi Government the guidelines for improvement of the country's micro- and macroeconomy,"
http://www.eastwest.be/news-march-2003/saudi-arabia.html

GDP Saudi Arabia : purchasing power parity - $287.8 billion (2003 est.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Saudi_Arabia

GDP USA : 10.5 trillion (2000)
http://www.scaruffi.com/politics/gnp.html

GDP California : 1.5 trillion (2003 est.)
Just in case you were thinking that the Saudis had all the money, looks like most of it is here in Ca. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California

California is responsible for 14% of American gross domestic product, which at nearly $1.4 trillion is greater than that of every other state, and every country in the world save for the United States.

Maybe those rich Californians from the land of fruits and nuts are really paying President bush off, they have way more cash than the Saudi’s?

"the Rodney King Riots...in fact they have a plan for dealing with them, involving the military called Operation Garden Plot." Posted by: Giaour

I saw that great plan in action live during the riots, it looked more like an every man for himself deal to me, All of the police officers went back to the safety of the station and watched it on TV. I declared that day that I will never give up my right to bear arms. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people

Rupert, Islam is not a "race' it's a religion (blood cult) people of all ethnic backgrounds are followers of this cult. They call themselves "muslims".

Islamophobe is not a word either. It's a made up contraction, much like "homophobe". DUmmies on the left make up such sillyness. The latter isn't even a truth. People aren't afraid of homo's, they are disgusted by them and dislike them and the unatual immoral acts they preform.

Thanks for the Islam lesson. But back to my point.

Phobia's are 'fears, dislikes or aversions'. So yes homophobia and Islamophobia are real. This says nothing about whether or not that fear is justified, rather that it's real. And needs labels as such.

btw, judging by your phrasing are you claiming all religions are cults?

'Rupert',

Sorry, but phobias are: 1) A persistent, abnormal, and irrational fear of a specific thing or situation that compels one to avoid it, despite the awareness and reassurance that it is not dangerous; 2) A strong fear, dislike, or aversion.

Please explain how a fear of islam is irrational.

The 2nd definition is the one I stated. It says nothing of rationality.

Phobia's aren't neccesarily irrational.

But examples abound throughout the posters comments of irrationality if you want them.

'Rupert', nice dodge. But you see these goalposts here? Well, they're anchored in concrete, topped off with dirt. They're not going anywhere.

Okay, let me try again. Please explain to me, in your own words, why you think the fear of islam is irrational? I've already read what the other posters think. Now, I want to read what you think, not just a regurgitation via cut-and-paste, given what we know about the religion of submission. The ability to critically think is the divide which created this war. Logic, critical reasoning, the ability to connect the dots, ferchrissakes, is the whole point of this exercise to insure our survival against islam. The ability to ridicule it, to laugh at it, to castigate it. Our core philosophical essence is built on humor, including parody, an ability to laugh at our foibles, to not take ourselves seriously. We have an arts tradition that includes satirists and parodists, like Voltaire in literature, and Mel Brooks in the cinema. But the enemy? Oh, no sirree. It follows a book, without deviation or alteration or laughter or music, for 1400 years. Cult-think to the point that paradise is a private club, and the admittance fee is to kill a Jew, or some other infidel. An added bonus is provided if you kill yourself in the process. Then, you become a glorious shaheed, and are remembered and praised for killing, not saving, people. Yeah that's the ticket provided by the religion of death, not life as we know it to be, but rather an anti-universe. We have been handed down, through blood and struggle, a myriad of options that we can weave into any mosaic we choose to call our life. We are not submissive in the small things that make up life. Sure, we submit to taxes, and our laws. But the laws you'd give up for shari'a, where laughter and joy are denied, and "thou shall not murder" does not exist, that is what you would choose to live under, to be ruled by? Why?

The thing about the mean ugly Western Civilization heritage is the idea of individual critical thinking, of free will, going back to Aristotle, and the rest of the Greek social and natural theorists. In other words, 'Rupert', what do you love so much about islam that you'd be willing to sacrifice, in the name of multi-culturalism, that heritage of evolution in the history of the rights of man, which allows you, today, as an individual, to choose to give up that very heritage forever? Unless you've never had that heritage, feel revulsion at that heritage, and seek to destroy that heritage for islamic purity.

As a leftist, stories like this and responses like these often lead me to debate where I am personally.

The violent language invoked all sides here inflames the part of me which believes that, yes, all organized religions are essentially blood cults, breeding grounds for psychopathic behavior under cover of imagined authority. This is my hard-core side, the side which takes interest in people like Bob Avakian of the Revolutionary Communist Party, who while not advocating the outright banning of religion definitely feels it has no place whatsoever in government policy, and is unabashed in advocating the use of armed force against capitalist and theocrat alike. In this they share something in common with many right-wing partisans, the idea that nonviolence is ineffective and that the right to bear arms is of paramount importance.

But I haven't gone over to them quite yet. I am still a Green Party member, and the Greens take a far more hopeful view that in all organized religion is the desire and potential for human betterment, and seeks instead to get religious people focused on the parts of their faith, scripture, doctrine, and dogma which speak to peace and justice.

It is in that vein that the Green Crescent Initiative has begun, seeking to broaden a trend reported by Muslim activist groups saying that 25% of American Moslems see the Greens as the party closest to their viewpoints. I've included the URL for the article about this in the latest Green Pages.

I would say, reading some of these posts, that if Mohammed was a pedophile, then God was an adulterer, having impregnated a married woman to produce the man who inspired the Christian faith. Not only that, we hardly need Islamic fascism to threaten evolutionary and Aristotilian logic; our own Christian fascists are already doing that quite effectively themselves.
